    Bjarn-dar Keep

Really well textured tower. The Bjarn Clan stronghold is very impressive with great details inside and out.

    Life in Mid-River

This is a lovely street scene with lots of nice little touches. It captures the essence of Mitgardia with smaller scale settlements than the bustling south. I can imagine the hardy folk spend more time indoors when they can but get out and about in streets like this.

    The Hidden City of Gondolin

Very lovely and elegant building. A formal reception hall for when the elves entertain the knights of Avalonia perhaps?

    Katoren Monastery

This is a lovely palatial building. I love the interiors and the smooth surfaces. The clean colors and details are excellent. I can imagine it as a lords retreat as well. It is such an elegant piece.

    AoM: Ginnon Valley(Tower phase one)

Very nice tower that fits the mitgardian style wonderfully. I really like the way it has a non regular base.

    AoM: Ginnon Valley(Archery phase one)

The platform, rockwork, targets and posing all look great. Hoping to see more of Ginnon Valley.

    Flower Sellers

Hi sorry for the late reply. The torso and legs are from a ninjago figure pack with three figures. An archer ninja lady in orange/dark yellow, a grey faced guy and this armor set with a grey ninja mask and two clubs. The pack number is 853687

    Flower Sellers

The city of Khadira is full of a variety of industries and businesses. Here a flower seller displays a sample of his wares. The petals of the flowers are often distilled for scents and perfumes or used to manufacture dyes for Khadira's vigorous textile industry. As a beautiful profusion of flowers bloom across the mountains and hills to the West of Khadira it is relatively easy to collect and sell some to the dye makers or perfumers. Izal here acts as more of a middle-man, purchasing flowers from local farmers and more recently refugees needing to make a few coins. He then sorts the flowers by colour and quality before selling them on. The traditional flag of Kaliphlim flies next to the Desert King's colours. Where possible Hassan M'badwe has decreed that the flag of the Desert King be displayed prominently to assure the loyalty of Khadira. Some whisper this is because of Khadira's failure to contribute militarily to the civil war effort. Izal Sweeps a frog away from the flowers drying in the sun. One of the problems of purchasing from the refugees is the relatively lower standards and quality control. Often Izal has to sort pests from the plants which the more experienced farmers already remove. When his wares are displayed the usually dusty street becomes quite colourful. An overview of the build to show some bits a little better. I am really enjoying making the vignettes depicting small scenes. It is easy on my collection and allows me to try new things without taking on more than I can actually do. For example I tried to make a siege engine for Category B challenge but couldn't create the wider scene for it. I would like this to stand for a craftsman/merchant according to the establishing a settlement rules here This would mean that Khadira currently has Agriculture (irrigation ditches), Hospitality (street food) Laborors (adobe makers) and now a Merchant Speciality (Flower Seller) So I really need to make a Military one and a General Goods Craftsman otherwise Khadira isn't even a Hamlet...The shame! I am hoping to post my newest build soon and actually go into a bit of story with some characters. Is it possible to also use that as a Khadira location? If so then prepare to see a small Small Council chamber soon! Sorry for the recent quietness, the usual interruptions from work and family coming to visit...for a month! EDIT: Forgot to say when making the build my girlfriend took one look and said its very plain. That I think is the main problem for the floor and small building. I hope it helps to draw the eye to the colourful part of the picture and acts more as a background. We do the best we can with what we have but I am not happy with the lack of texture and colour in it.

    Flower Sellers

Thanks for the tips. I really need to get more 1x2 and 1x1 plates. At the moment I only seem to have enought to fill gaps rather than make them a core part of the build. The location of Khadira is supposed to ne on the Eastern Coast of Kaliphlim near the border with Nocturnus. Just south of the Goolag Archipelago there is a bay with a river flowing into the sea which would be perfect but I am not sure if some other minor settlements were placed there in the Kaliphlim civil war. This would explain why, tucked away behind the mountains and the Desert King's main forces it was able to stay out of most of the fighting but be in a position to accept Kaliphlim and Nocturnan refugees. Thanks for the other advice and tips everyone. I am slowly working on more things. My current wip is larger than before thanks to my girlfriend's go big or go home attitude. Hopefully it will turn out ok.
  10. The figs on this scene really are a wonderful mix of characters. I like the careful use of parts and accessories for them.

    Chef Délicieux's Kitchen

Love the floor and so many details of a real bustling kitchen. Also nice to see real life scenes.

Bridge to the Market - AoM: Store Phase I

This build is a lovely one with a well travelled and maintained road. I am envious of your goats and the lovely passage of different travelers. The stream banks and reeds look nice and busy and the bridge arches look great.

    The Headsman's Hovel

Beautiful twisted cottage and tree. Lovely textures. I wonder if this headsman will meet the new king?

    Freebuild: Moving to Kyrrath

The house is beautifully done. As others have said the river is a bit plain but the posing and details of the house make up for it. The ship being upturned and shaken out is lovely too.
  15. This is a really simple but well executed concept. The wagon looks sturdy enough for defense or offense on the battlefields of Nocturnus. The floor texture is really good too.
  16. That bear is beautiful. The smithy is nicely laid out and the wall and gate are great. The cobblestone flooring is really good too. I am glad you took a pic of that without the bear. I also like the playability of the bear. A very nice scene.
  17. Two farm workers cross one of the many fertile gullies used to grow crops near Khadira. When the rain from the East hits the Rakarth mountains it carves gullies and channels through the rock and dirt. When the summer comes they remain relatively fertile compared to the dried out soil surrounding them. With a minimum of labor the water can be regulated to last the year allowing various crops to be grown in these channels. Anywhere where water can flow is somewhere the people of Khadira must grow. For the growing population needs food. Just another little build to develop the Town of Khadira. I hope this would be enough to claim agriculture or farming when it comes to putting the place on the map according to some guidelines I read before. I am really enjoying building these little scenes. I have one more to post but then will have to put them on hold for a bit while I finish up the Category B siege weapon.
  18. A really nice bustling workshop. The stacks of various parts and the arches appeal the most to me. Also the two small domes and the brickwork are nice. I need to add more detail to my own to make it as good as this.
  19. Adobe is a very cheap but effective construction material. Clay, mixed with straw and other materials and left to dry in the sun create basic bricks which can be used as is or fired in a kiln for harder bricks. Either way they are used for the basic construction of many buildings and then faced with plaster. They can be created anywhere the raw materials are found and so are often made on site. They help to fuel the construction boom in Khadira as the Town expands. Dozens of new bricks dry in the sun while another is in the mold. The wall in the background is in need of re-plastering and the old bricks are showing through. Another small scene from Khadira. Hopefully it is beginning to build up an image of a busy and growing town. This one I hope represents basic construction going on to meet the needs of the people. Now for a little break from Khadira to finish up the siege engine for the alliance.

    Smith for Sylvania

The color scheme is really good and while the chimney is a bit regular the rest of the build shows an excellent and well maintained property.
  21. I would like to register these Freebuilds if possible...
  22. I just found that a large box with my intended sig fig in it was sent back to China. The delivery company didn't even leave a note. So I will use Hassan M'badwe as my sigfig until I can get my hands on Muakhah again. Hassan M'badwe was a stern and serious young man who was struggling to find meaning in life. Then after a small rock slide he discovered the entrance to a hidden shrine where the Mace of Watombe lay hidden. The Mace of Watombe accepted Hassan and gave him power and a purpose. As long as the bearer is devoted to justice and the law then he may drawn upon the powers of the Mace. This enables Hassan to force the truth from suspects and smite those who would obstruct the law. Hassan must be ever vigilant of his own actions. For the Mace demands that its wielder be utterly devoted to the very concept of Justice. Unsurprisingly, given the eclectic yet useful abilities granted by the mace, Hassan has risen to be the High Judge of Khadira. Upholding the law is his domain. In these troubled times where Muakhah has disappeared on a mission of peace, Hassan does his best to oversee Khadira and the impending war with the Spire according to the instructions laid down my Muakhah before his departure. Hassan takes these duties very seriously, for he fears failing the people of Khadira.

It is good to see some menacing supporters of the Spire.

Cha V Cat B: Preparing to besiege

The spindly dead trees set the location well and this modified Ballista looks like it will be quite menacing when finished.
  25. Such a beautiful workshop. The roof tiling, colors and arches scream of the Mediterranean. The war machine is compact and makes sense and the soldiers reactions to the mishap are great.
