  1. Hello wonderful LEGO people, I'm a 20-year old student from the Netherlands and have been playing with LEGO for as long as I can remember. However, as I grew older, my interest grew less and less and the people I used to play and build with stopped doing so. The love still remained, and I still can't walk by a toy store without scanning for LEGO. However, when I moved into my own appartment, I took my collection with me (now also bolstered by one of my parent's old collections), and the spark of ignited again (somewhat). Lately, I've seen pictures of the Star Destroyer Tyrant, which sparked my inspiration like mad. The desire to pool my entire collection into one big build surfaced again, and I'm trying to get ideas for a space ship to build. However, looking at my OC's, I realized that I'm not a good enough builder to pull something off even remotely close (my latest cruiser fresh in mind, where I ran out of hull parts and inspiration half-way...). What I'm asking for mostly is advice on how to go forward. I really want to become a better builder, but seeing the progress I made over my youth doesn't bode well for any progress if I just keep stumbling on. What can I do to improve? Are there good articles to read? Video's to watch? Building exercises to do? Builds to study and draw inspiration from? (And is this even the right place to ask?) A note on my collection might also be appropriate: I've mostly collected medieval/fantasy themes and space/science-fiction themes, but also have a healthy amount of standard building bricks. Thank you for bearing through my ramblings and any advice you might be able to give! Arcturus24

    Hello Everybody!

Hello Eurobricks Member! Looks like I forgot to introduce myself, Sorry. I'm Kamal From Jakarta, Indonesia. My main LEGO interest is Technic. I started playing LEGO from my first LEGO Set, LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 from my father and after a few years from that, my father bought me LEGO set again, for now a LEGO Technic set, it just influenced me to collect more Technic set. I actually Digital LEGO Builder. I started to play LEGO in Digital, because I just have many Technic sets (as I like it), so if I want to make creations with ‘Bricks’ I should use digital LEGO building apps or nothing. You can see my real life sets collection here and you can see my newest digital creations in My flickr. Thanks for reading. Hope to find a lot of knowledge and inspiration here. As you can see, I am not English native so please excuse me if I make some grammar mistakes. I will try to do my best.
  3. Hello Eurobricks! My name is Isaac, I am a student living in England and have been playing with lego since I was 4, like many of you, i'm sure! I've been doing animations on Youtube sporadically for a good 6 years now, mostly related to the hit BBC show Doctor Who. However I don't like to feel limited to it. A lot of the lego creations that I share will be made as sets or props, like some train projects i am working on; but I will occasionally enjoy creating ideas for commercial sets. Who doesn't! I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and suggestions with everyone, and I hope I can be a help where I can! All the best, Isaac
  4. Hey everyone! I'm Anna, Irish female AFOL just out of the Dark Ages and back into LEGO collecting. I'm 19 now, and had been collecting LEGO obsessively from about 2005 to 2011, and just got back into the hobby this year. I'm mainly interested in LEGO Town - City and a bit of Creator, my first modular is on the way - and Star Wars, and these take up the majority of my collection. I'm also pretty interested in bits and pieces - no pun intended - of other themes, for example DC Superheroes because I am a big fan, or the collectable minifigs. I've never been particularly good at making MOCs, but my current aim is to take these boxes of stashed bricks out and create a meaningful town for my minifigs. I'm very much pleased to meet all of you, thanks for having me! I'm sure I'll have a great time amongst you all here on the forums. Everyone here seems lovely and helpful - I can finally stop lurking now and actually interact with you guys, woo! Many thanks! - AnnaBuildsLego
  5. I don't know how long I have been here! I can't remember what I did so many years ago do deserve this! All I can remember is my name - Sparhawk... I do know they want something from me, they think I know something and keeping me here will gain them some leverage - but with who and why, I just don't remember. Years of torture have robbed me of my memory, but not my wits. I will leave this place, I will remember my past, but for now I bide my time - looking for the right moment... image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr Oh great, I guess it time for another session in the courtyard of pain... I don't know why they keep bothering, I DON'T REMEMBER... I have been leaving some smeared food grease around my wrists, hoping that the rats might just take me out of my misery... image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr Hmm, I guess today I just hang, but that poor soul... I don't remember when all three of them were here at once, it must be pretty important... and they already have the cauldron under him, I guess all that is left is for me to watch what happens... "You better talk Louis, this is you last chance. Either you tell us where you hid it or in the cauldron you go... " - "I will not submit to you buffoons and you will never find any of... you will never!!" - "ok, Louis, have it your way" image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr "light 'em up, let's see if you will be a bit more talkative after a warm bath... ha ha ha!!" - What the devil, what is that behind me... it's nibbling at my wrists... oh, maybe I will finally be free of this world and won't have to watch that poor man get cooked alive... image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr Whaat just happened, oh my... the rat must have eaten through the bindings, am I finally free!? "AAAAaaaaa... AAAaaa...." I can't let that man suffer, maybe he has a way off this place... image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr Let me get you out of there... image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr "Oh... thank you, I am Lois de Bastion, I was on a very important mission when I was captured. I don't think I am going to make it, I feel the life seeping out of me. Please, I implore you to help me fulfill my mission. I have a ship waiting for me, the Crabby Cyclopse, I purchased it before I set out to get the final piece of the puzzle. Its is crewed by a reputable band of mercenaries - the best part is, they have never met me directly, just tell them you are me and show them the token I hid in my helmet... and now to the mission - listen very carefully..." image by Sparhawk-1, on Flickr The dying Spaniard's story was hard to believe, but why lie on one's death bed... I guess I will see about it's merits when I get out of here... I don his clothes and cutlass ---- and now to find that ship - Crabby Cyclopse, what a name... This is literally my first MOC, I have never done one... I will take all constructive criticism, though a lot of the issues are probably because I lack the parts (plus that part about never doing it before :) )

    Hello from Denmark

Hey there. I would just like to introduce myself. I am a guy from Fredericia in Denmark. The birthplace of LEGO. I am a eager LEGO builder and my favorite sets are Star Wars, Mindstorms, Technic and anything with cars and motorsports. I would like to start a small group of people who are keen on creating new sets on the ideas.lego.com site. Anyone up for this? Please write me :D Together we can do more. And in the words of one of my friends father Jørgen Knudstorp. - Everything is awesome!!!
  7. Brickr

    Hello Eurobricks!

Hello Eurobricks! After following multiple threads for years now I figured it was finally time to get involved properly, so here I am! I am an avid AFOL having been drawn out of my dark age through a combination of buying LEGO for my children and more specifically the Lord of the Rings theme. I remember purchasing a single Uruk-Hai sword from eBay back in 2012 because I thought it was one of the best parts I had ever seen, I did not realise then that that single piece would lead me to become a serious lego collector, specifically of minifigures. I am very excited to get involved in the Eurobricks community, and look forward to being part of current, and future discussions. Enthusiastically, Brickr
  8. Hi everyone! My name is Joost and my most used nickname online is JHS_NL, a combination of my initials and the country where i'm from (The Netherlands). I have been a fan of Lego for a while now and have been building on-and-off for some time. I work as an R&D technician for a coating company and am 33 years old. Main love is Lego City train and airplane themed MOC's sets. Ehm dunno what to tell more. Will post some pictures asap of one of my MOC's based on a station set. Greetz, Joost
  9. LieutenantBluecoat

Hello, my name is Leutinant Bluecoat!

"But of course you already knew that, what was i thinking?" - The Infomaniac, 1997, LEGO Island. Hello, my name is explained in the topic title. I'm LeutinantBluecoat, and i'm going to tell you a bit about myself. I love all the core themes, Town, Space, Castle, they're all my favorites: But one of my most favorites is the Pirate theme. I always loved the concept of Pirates: Captain Redbeard always dodging the Admiral, Governor Broadside, Admiral Woodhouse... But other than those subthemes, i love Islanders. The idea of tribal warriors led by the Voodoo-Wielding Chief King Kahuka was always amazing to me. I first found out of his existance in LEGO Racers (one of my most favorite LEGO games of all time.) and ever since then i've been a fan of the tribal Islanders, and i own the King Kahuka's Throne set as well. I also like the Imperial Soldiers, they're my favorite of the Imperial line. I love to imagine the soldiers marching on the Eldorado Fortress, protecting it from Captain Redbeard and his crew. I build MOCs often but i only have 10 and some are shabby LDD models. I also make brickfilms, but i haven't posted them on a video host yet. I also make art, and i draw often, but some things i draw aren't always involved with LEGO. I also like LEGO Island, (And i mean the first game. Don't like the second two very much) and i have taken screenshots before. Well, anyway, shouldn't crowd you all with my chit-chat, i'm happy to be a part of the community!
  10. Hello, Eurobricks! I'm Nth_Brick, and I guess EB's newest member (at least, until the next guy...). Anyway, I suppose I'm a bit of a lurker as I've been visiting this website for a long time, but just never took the time to make an actual account. Nonetheless, I always enjoyed looking at the MOCs here, following the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka RPG and, to a lesser extent, Guilds of Historica, and I finally decided to create an account. A little bit about myself might be in order, I guess. I've been into LEGO pretty much my entire life (and, with any luck, will never really have any so-called "Dark Ages"). I haven't done much MOCing recently, but I do build something every now and again and regularly add pieces to my collection. (Brickset currently estimates my total part count at around ~20,000 pieces, and I would guess that I have over 200 minifigs.) My two favorite themes are Star Wars and Winter Village (weird, I know), but if a set is cool, the theme doesn't matter much. Similarly, if a set is lame, I still don't care what theme it's from. Coincidentally, I actually made this account in part for the purpose of commenting on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer... Yeah, I don't have many other online accounts. But, yeah, given all the lurking I've done, I've seen how a great a LEGO fan community there is here (as well as a lot of really talented builders), and I look forward to being a part of it. Maybe I'll even post a couple of MOCs here, too. (Though don't count on great photo quality - my camera is awful and I don't care to invest in another.) - Nth_Brick (temporary signature )

    What's up from Canada

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself to the forums. I have been lurking here for a while after reading a few reviews and build techniques so I thought I would sign up. I am from Nova Scotia Canada (hopefully I can meet a few more East Coasters on here) and just last year started buying and collecting Lego again after a little over a decade of "dark ages". I am pretty much interested in all Lego, not huge into Technic and am looking to buy my first train set before summer. That's about it, I just recently bought my friends entire childhood collection of Lego for a good deal and am currently working on my only Technic set, the Air Claw (8868) so that is what I am working on now, as well as a Castle MOC.
  12. LittleJohn

    Hello Everyone!

Hello, my name is LittleJohn and I live in the U.S. I'm a MOC'er and my favorite themes to build in are castle and pirates. I also like classic- castle sets a lot. You can see my previous MOCs, here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/130093880@N02/ Looking forward to being part of this community
  13. And I am from Malaysia. A grandpa with 3 grandchildren and we all have the Lego Wedo basic set plus the resource set. I also have the Lego Simple and Motorized Mechanism set. At this point in time, I am mainly in the learning mode so hope this group will tolerate questions. As my grandchildren gets older, we will get the Lego Mindstorms EV3. Expecting to be able to contribute later once we get over the learning curve. I am an active blogger who recently started this Robotics for Children blog. Will add more adult stuff later so please don't kick me out prematurely. I see that [ v ] Enable signature? at the sidebar so I assume we can append signatures at the bottom of our messages. Correct me please if I am wrong. Peter Chen Robotics for Children (and adult children)
  14. Hello fellow AFOL. I finally completed my first Lego comic short story and I'd really like to read your opinion It is just a little test, a sort of introduction (or "pilot episode", if you prefer ) to a story series I'm currently writing, named " A Bountiful Galaxy" Even though you will see a couple of Minifigures from the Star Wars theme this is not a Star Wars story. It' set in another fictional universe I created for this story series. So I posted here for all the Lego Sci-Fi fans. Anyway here the story. Part 1 (Pages one and two) Part 2 (Pages there, four and five) This is truly my first ever comic story and I'm back to the Lego universe after an absence nearly 10 years old long , so any comment, feedback, suggestion etc will be very appreciated. Even "negative" ones. It will motivate me in going ahead with these projects. Thank you very much for your time. I hope you'll like this little story. I made sure the pics are in very high resolution so you should be able to appreciate the Minifigures' and sets' details EDIT: I do realize the title is, well, a very "unsuccessful" one. It was intended to be a wordplay on the expression "getting on my nerves" and a line said by the comic's main character. However I realize out of context has little meaning Anyway on the technical aspect: I'm still experimenting with the software (it's Comic Life 3 for the records) and while certain effects can be easily added to the photos others, like good quality energy weapons effects for example, are still difficult to add for me. I'm working on them though. Thank you for reading
  15. Hello everyone! I just found out about this group via the Facebook page. When I came over I saw the 5th LDD RCB and that it was a Western town theme. I was immediately interested in knowing what else this group did. I am following now following that thread and looking forward to seeing the final product. I started playing with LEGOs when I was about 5. I have always loved horses so my earliest sets all contained at least one horse. I had used the LDD 4-6 times over the past 8 years, but this site has inspired me to get back into using it. My favorite themes are Western, Medieval (particularly Robin Hood era), and Imperials (particularly modified to the American Revolution.) Last year, I also started building a Christmas village using a combination of the winter village sets and my own creations. I am presently going to college for my Master's and working full time so I stay too busy. However, I do enjoy playing PC games or building LEGOs when I have time. Most of my creations are MODs or small MOCs that are added to existing sets to fill them out. I will work on getting some pictures up of things I have done. I look forward to learning new techniques and getting new ideas from this group.
  16. coffins

    Echo.

Hiya! I'm coffins and all my friends over the internet call me coffins. Because I prefer anonymity, I can't post anything about myself, except the fact that I'm system programmer and modder. I'm also a LEGO fan, so I decided to join this community. You can visit my WIP website to find even more information: https://coffins.github.io/about/
  17. Hello everyone! My name is Chris, and I am a lifelong Lego fan from West Sussex in the UK. On the desk in front of me, I have a Volkswagen T1 Camper, modified Cuusoo DeLorean (with a number of MOC props from the Back to the Future films, of which I am a big fan), and a minifig-scale MOC VW camper with two BTTF Libyan terrorists! I look forward to sharing my photos of those MOCs with you, and asking for a little advice with a pet project I have been struggling with for a few months. I'm an occasional user of a few other Lego sites, online communities and tools. I subscribe to /r/Lego on Reddit for inspiration, use LDD to build my models, and head over to BrickLink and Brick Owl to buy the pieces I need to assemble them from bricks, not bits! I look forward to being a part of this community too.
  18. JackBricks

    Hello! I'm Jack!

Hello! I'm 18 and from the United States. I've been a lurker on this site for several years and finally made an account. My favorite lego themes are Space/Sci-Fi and Action. I'm not a great designer/MOCer, but I do love to collect and modify existing sets. I run weekly Brikwars games with my friends, where we've got an ongoing space opera type thing happening, so I may post about that if it's allowed!
  19. Michael Jurist

Hello, all! My name is Michael.

Hello, my name is Michael Jurist (sometimes known as "LASF" or "LegoAndStickfigs"). I create brickfilms or "brick flicks", as I've seen them called here, on my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/legoandstickfigs). I've been doing so since 2010! I literally just made my account 5 minutes ago. I'm still learning how to navigate around the site, so any tips would be helpful. Thanks! Michael
  20. TheGreatSpirit

    Greetings from Florida!

Hi Eurobricks, I've been a lurker in the Action Figure forum for several years now, but due to a renewed interest in constraction figures I decided to make an account. As of this post I am on vacation in Taiwan, but rest assured, my place of residence is in Florida (I do not wish to name a particular city). Some hobbies of mine include playing games on Steam (mainly CSGO), collecting AT LEAST one constraction figure per line/year (I don't have any 2002 Bionicle sets, any of the Superhero ultrabuilds, and none of the LoC Wave 1 figures), and very minimal coin collecting. Seeing as how I'm on vacation (and still celebrating a very recent birthday), I will most likely go from lurking the forums to now lurking the forums with an account :P Nevertheless, I am thrilled to be part of the evergrowing Eurobricks community, and the Lego community as a whole. :) -TheGreatSpirit

  23. Detzit

    Hello

Hi everyone My name is Rui and I’m an afol from Portugal. It’s been a while since I’ve been around this website and forum (especially the technic one) but as I didn’t want to continue being one of the guests, here I am. As most of the afol, I went through a dark age. Mine lasted from age 15 till about 7 years ago, while shopping for Lego sets for my young boy about Christmas time when I noticed the 8275 Bulldozer and thought – Wow this is Lego technic today! It was a lot of money so I didn’t buy it but forces were in motion. A few days after I spotted an 8273 Off Road Truck at 50% off and that was it. I was 38 then. After that I bought several technic sets but as I started having a lot of parts and discovered bricklink, I’ve been bricklinking models for the last 3 years buying just the parts needed. I’m essentially a builder from instructions but like to add some mods either for esthetics or simply because some part is missing. My boys are 8 and 11 today and they are also lego builders. Having 2 sons gives me the best excuse to search, talk, build and buy lego! Best to you all, Rui
  24. Greetings, as the title says, my name is Jack! I enjoy cross-country, running, computer games and most importantly, LEGO! At the moment I'm switching around themes a lot, trying to find one I like the most, at the moment I'm trying to create Hero Factory/Bionicle/Technic hybrids (kinda like the Toa Mata and Rahi). I can say that I'm not the best at it as I just started with it, but I do enjoy building little matorans! :) I hope to post what I have been creating as soon as I deem it to be the standards of this site, and hope to learn on how to improve them! Also, just making sure, should I post them on the "LEGO Action Figures" forum, or the "Technic" forum? I'm thinking it may be the "LEGO Action Figures" forum, but I'm not sure at all. Well, I'll see you on the "LEGO Action Figures" forum! ;)
  25. Commodore Ariel Brickson

Arriving at this shores: new member from Spain

Hello everybody! My name here is Commodore Ariel Brickson; I'm a very young AFOL from Spain (I'm 18 years old only); I love Pirates-soldiers theme (for that reason I decide to make my introduction here), at least, all that I can with my humble collection (I think that it's the smallest in this forum), and my worse capacity to buy more (0). Even if I have to use bluecoat soldiers as officers (I only have 2 that a friend gave to me), consider me as a redcoat fan; at least for now. I hope that you enjoy my presence here as I enjoy stay here and see so many great creations and ships. As soon as possible, I will present my only ship (it's 100% MOC) that can be considered a warship; it's only a 12-guns brig but I love it... ...well, when I finish it again... Friendly from Spain, Commodore Ariel.
