  1. (This is a story of a Hobbit who goes on a dangerous adventure. This is the first episode, and each episode will be released every weekend, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. C & C welcome over all, but i would also like to see your thoughts on the story. If you are not a fan of reading, then perhaps this is not for you.) Next Episode: The Start of Adventure Hello all, It is my pleasure, to introduce you all to a particularly curious Hobbit. His name is Frednas Hamsfoot, though most call him Fred. His family of Hobbits, the Hamsfoots, were a small, and lesser known family of Hobbits. Frednas had always had a soft heart for the Baggins of Bag-End, for he also had an interest in adventure. Frodo Baggins had just left the Shire to the east, and why that is, is unknown to the whole of Hobbiton. Frednas had just woke up to the chirping of birds. Today was Thursday, market day. He jumped out of bed, grabbed his walking stick and ran out the door into the green hills of Hobbiton. He leaped over several fences, with other Hobbits yelling at him for his enthusiastic behavior. Though, it was not the market where he was headed. He was on his way to Albung the alchemist to pick up a special draught. He ran past the market, with a few friendly people waving. Madoc the farmer in particular waved and greeted him with a "Allo Fred! Care to stop by for a carrot or two?" he said. Fred waved back. "Sorry, i'm on my way to Albung's!" he ran on, up to a small shack in a hill. A sign hung above the door, 'Albung's Alchemy' it was called. Fred walked in slowly. A foul stench came from the shop. Albung stood in front of a small table with a frog on it. He held a knife high above his head, and he brought it down, just above the frog's head. "Wait!" Fred exclaimed. "Ah, Frednas. Your here i see." Albung said with an old, raspy voice. "Yes, i am here for my special draught i ordered." Frednas replied. "Ah, right." he dropped the knife, and walked back to a corner, looking through a box. The frog hopped off the table and leaped out of the shop. "Hold on, i'm going to need something first."Albung said. "What?! I already paid you with twelve shillings!" Fred exclaimed. "Yes, but i must have this item." Albung said. "Ok, what do you need?" Frednas said reluctantly. Albung turned back towards him. "Yesterday, fifty years ago, in the time of Bilbo Baggin's absence, a friend and i were messing around near the entrance to his basement. We foolishly decided to sneak in, and steal something. We went in when no one was looking, and we snuck through the dark halls. We found a blue sapphire gem deep within, but Lobelia Sackville Baggins was also snooping around the halls, and caught us. She dragged us by the ear back out to our parents. Ever since, I've wanted that sapphire for a special kind of potion that is in high demand. I need you to sneak into Bilbo's basement, and retrieve this gem, and bring it back to me. Then i will give you the draught as well as the money you paid." Albung said. "Alright, so i sneak into Bilbo's basement, steal the sapphire, and bring it back to you, got it." Frednas was off like a rabbit being chased by a wolf. He snuck up to the door at the base of the hill. He opened the door when no one was looking, lit a torch and went into the dark cellar. He saw a great many things, from broken shelves, to dwarven helmets. He'd heard of Mr. Baggins' adventures, but he didn't know that he'd had dealings with dwarves. Far back in the hall, he saw a blue round object that glinted from the light of his torch. He cautiously tread deeper into the basement, towards the blue object. He picked it up, it indeed felt like a sapphire. Perhaps it was the object Albung was looking for. He took a swift glance around for any other blue objects, but he saw none. This was definitely it. Now, just to get out of the basement. As he was exiting, a large spider crawled down from his resting place and towards Fred. He ran out in shock, all because a mere spider. Now, to return to Albung... "Ah, Frednas, how did it go, did you find the sapphire?" he inquired. "Yes, but almost at the cost of my life!" Fred exclaimed. "How so?" Albung asked. "As i was leaving, a humongous spider came after me. I've never ran so fast in my life!" Frednas huffed. "Well, i suppose that after being left alone for so long, a spider would tend to grow large. Now, if you could hand over the gem." Albung stated. "Here." Frednas handed him the blue jewel. Albung took the jewel, and headed back to the box. He dug through it until he found a shiny gold bottle. "Now, the contents of this draught always have a positive effect, but it varies it's side affects. Only use it when you are most ill." "Thank you," Frednas accepted. To Be Continued Next Week... (More pictures Below.) The First Build: The Second: The Third:

    MOC: Dain II Ironfoot

This is Dain II Ironfoot, the lord of Iron Hills, The King under the Mountain and the scottish boss dwarf who rode that pig. The challenging part was the legs - All my previous dwarves have been standing still and this guy had a riding pose. It uses some small ball joints that are hidden under the armor skirt. The pig works on its own - Dain doesn't. Kill them elves! More on my blog, as usual. Enjoy.
  3. Hi guys, newbie here showcasing my first MOC. Having just recently come of my dark ages with the release of LOTR Lego (as a kid I ended with Lego with Aquazone back in 1997), I thought I would have a go at recreating the final boss fight of the excellent, but bug ridden game War in the North. I know there are lot of Tolkien fans on the site who would dismiss War in the North, but I personally like to include it as part of the PJ film canon. Anyway for people not in the know War in the North stars three new characters, a new fellowship so to speak as they go off to fight Agandaur, Sauron's right hand man in the North who bears a resemblance to the Mouth of Sauron. As stated this was my first build in coming on 15 years and was actually made only using the parts of all the Hobbit lego (aside from the minifigs. Anyway, comments suggestions etc. (I ran out of grey bits btw!) First up is Eradan - Ranger of the North and the Aragon of the game. As with this game there are a plethora of clothing options, here I selected his hooded guise. Next is Andriel - Elf loremaster of Rivendell. A female elf who casts healing domes from her staff. Finally is Farin - Champion Dwarf of Erebor and my personally favourite. trying to differentiate him from Gimli is quite hard side from the black beard. I may add Gimli's helmet when I obtain a spare, for now he sports the "Evil Dward CMF" helmet. The main baddie - Agandaur - Sauron's right hand man in the North. Using the helmet of MoS and the lone ranger head and urak-hai body and 2 sided cape. I really like how this turned out. So that's the minifigs below are the "set" that they would come in - the citadel of Carn Dum where the final boss takes place. it's not quite the whole scene just Agandaur's balcony and then the long pathway to the citadel. I added a rock feature which conceals a barrel which stores weaponry to mimic the stores of items that players "loot" throughout the game. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
  4. Hi everyone, Here is a new decal design I just created based on the Ithilien Ranger from the Lord of the Rings! I intend to get these pad-printed, and offer them as a custom minifigure in my BrickLink store! Let me know what you guys think! Thanks, Brandon (RBC)

    [MOC] Ithilien Ranger Ambush

I'd like to present to you my newest creation, based on the scene from TTT where Faramir's Rangers of Ithilien ambush the forthcoming Men of Harad, as Frodo, Sam and Gollum are watching from a distance. (The latter three not included in the scene) "In order to protect the road from Minas Morgul to Osgiliath from possible attacks, Faramir has sent his Rangers of Ithilien to await the forthcoming Haradrim on the road to ambush them as soon as they are in sight. The fist group of Men of Harad is coming closer and closer, and as they approach the rangers, the first strike is received by the enemy..." __________________________________________________________________________________ This MOC can also be found on Flickr and MOCpages. Enjoy, C&C is welcome as always. It would also help me if you could tell me which of the versions of these pictures you like best, the one with a solid white background or the one with the map of Middle-Earth - this will help me pick a definite picture for Flickr.
  6. "After the fall of Sauron, Éomer, son of Éomund, returns to Rohan to be crowned king, following in the footsteps of Théoden, son of Thengel, who was slain during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Upon his return to Edoras, King Éomer decides the time has come to wipe out the remaining Dunlendings, former servants of evil who were sent by Saruman to aid him in the destruction of Rohan, who have now taken refuge throughout Dunland from whence they came, spread out over many different settlements and some fortresses. One of these fortresses can be found on the border of Rohirric lands to Dunland, one that was taken from Rohan by the Dunlendings during the War of the Ring. As a first step to conquering Dunland and slaying the remaining hostile Dunlendings, King Éomer sends a group of his men to surround the fortress, attacking the Dunlendings from every possible side. One of these sides is the western rivergate, to which a group of Rohirrim footsoldiers has been sent to begin the attack..." ________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is my entry for MEC, category B, depicting an event from the 4th age of Middle-Earth. Enjoy, C&C welcome as always!
  7. Here's a LOTR moc I made based on the scene in return of the king where Aragorn attacked the corsairs of Umbar with the dead men of Dunharrow. Untitled by mlarbconnor, Overall view, I only included one side of a corsair ship. Untitled by mlarbconnor, View from one side. Untitled by mlarbconnor, From the other side. 8. Hello everybody, this is my first attempt at micro scale. Hope you like it. Modded Orthanc for scale. ;-) Critics and comments are welcome. Ps: sorry for the picture quality.
  9. Here's a LOTR moc I made of the forges in Belegost, which was a huge Dwarve kingdom in Beleriand before it sank (long story). First and foremost this is the Moc I am most proud of so some feedback on how it looks would be awesome. Untitled by mlarbconnor, Here's an overall view. Untitled by mlarbconnor, A closeup of the front. Untitled by mlarbconnor, Closeup of the arch, and weapons rack. Untitled by mlarbconnor, One side. Untitled by mlarbconnor, The other side. The arch is loosely based on the one from the lonely mountain (although its certainly not the same). C&C would be absolutely awesome, thanks for viewing.
  10. Heres my latest Moc, hope you enjoy, it falls in line with the Fall of Arnor Moc series I started. The Arnorian soldiers were pushed back until they had their backs to the ruined wall of an ancient stronghold. They moved into a loose formation. The enemy crashed into their lines, hillmen and orcs. The soldiers were holding out, but eventually they knew they would fall to the endless tide. When all seemed lost a horn blew in the distance, the dwarves had come sent from the nearby Ered Luin, the dwarves crashed into the orcish flank bringing hope and vigor to the formerly disheartened Arnorians. Untitled Overall view. Untitled From one side. Untitled From the other side. Untitled Closeup of the ruined wall. Untitled Closeup of the tower. Untitled Back of the tower. Untitled Bird's eye view. Untitled Figless. Untitled The Arnorians. Untitled The hillmen. Untitled The dwarves. I took apart weathertop to build this. C&C appreciated, thanks.
  11. Good evening! I am happy to announce that my project to build the company of Thorin Oakenshield from the Hobbit films. The project began 656 days ago in a land of which kind no longer exist in Middle-Earth when I posted bust of Balin in November 2012. It sort of grew into a full Balin, and got a brother Dwalin, and a cousin Oin, and some random Bifur guy... And well, I decided to build the dwarves, and then somebody asked (probably here on on EB) asked if I'd build Gandalf and Bilbo. And well, I did. You probably remember some of these MOCs (Kili even made it to the front page). The new ones here are Ori, Bilbo and Gandalf. Of course the story of the company doesn't end here. There will be conventions and exhibits to visit with these guys. There's heaps of more photos on my blog. Enjoy. At least I did enjoy building them!
  12. Here's yet another dwarf creation; Dwalin, the muscle of the group, in his reclaimed Erebor chainmail coat. This MOC was inspired by getting lot of those short chain pieces for cheap. The color scheme felt quite beautiful too, so I gave it a try. The axe was probably the hardest part. Weta's design had so odd 45 degree angles so I had to fiddle with it a long tme before coming up with a version that uses some magnifiying glasses and clip-bars to connest the blades. There is more talk on my blog. Enjoy!

    MOC: The Crossroads Inn

Whilst the war rages in the North, in the western lowlands, in the middle of nowhere, the Crossroads Inn is always open for weary travelers. The Innkeeper, his wife and wife's sisters will receive all who come for rest, food and if they bring enough gold or gems, top notch weapons. The Innkeeper, a master smith, has his shoppe behind the Inn, whilst the open air armory, eatig tables and coziness of the hostesses invite everyone who can afford a good nights rest, a hearty meal, a razor sharp souvenir and a merry good time. Since I run on a very tight budget, I paint my bricks gray (airspray). Hope you like it. 14. So with the LotR theme done (or close to it besides some "fun packs" through Dimensions and the slim possibility of an Ideas Minas Tirith), I thought it would be nice to see which set people like the most. Why do you like that particular set? Is it the minifigures, the build, the scene it's based on, or what?

  17. Hello guys, I would like to share few picture of the current stage of my Helm's deep. It's still missing the rock formation on the left and also the amount of Uruks isn't sufficient yet. I've also found out that i am not a good MOCker so don't be too cricital. :) Anyway here we go: Thanks for your attention!
  18. Next part of the fall of Arnor in the Ettenmoors campaign. An Arnorian patrol ship was brought over to fight the hordes of Agmar in the deepest areas of the swamp. The crew never expected something as terrifying as this... Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr Overall view. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr A huge swamp wyrm shoots out of the water to attack the ship. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr A group of terrible specters. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr The front of the ship and the small catapult mounted on the bow. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr The back of the boat. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr Another view of the boat. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr New helmets for the soldiers of Arnor. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr The specters. C&C appreciated, thanks.
  19. Here's the next installment of the fall of Arnor. Just a note, this particularly piece of LOTR history isn't documented that much. I believe this chapter isn't an official part of the LOTR story, I made up the Ettenmoors campaign (at least as far as I know correct me if I'm wrong). With that over with here it is. it takes place in a swampy strip of the Ettenmoors. The arnorian soldiers are scrambling in small boats to retake the tiny outpost towers scattered all over the area. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr Overall view. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr A nicely placed catapult shot has done some damage to the towers structure and defenders. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr Another pic. C&C appreciated, thanks.
  20. This is the first in a series of Lord of the rings Mocs based on the fall of the kingdom of Arnor (another kingdom of men created by the numenoreans who made Gondor, it fell before the war of the ring to the kingdom of angmar.) Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr overall view of the Moc, it is an Arnorian border outpost being raided by orcs and dunlendings. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr Close up Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr Behind the wall. Untitled by mlarbconnor, on Flickr First attempt at tutored wall. MOC: Younger Balin

Help me. Can't... Stop... Building... Dwarves... This one, Balin in his old Erebor coat, was done for a super secret dwarven project with Thráin. I got inspired by the rich color and details of the clothing; dark red is definitely one of LEGO's best colors. The arms are quite posable using ball joints on shoulders and minifig legs on elbows. There are more on my blog. Enjoy.

    The Citadel of Der Golad

In the northern plains beyond the elven cities, lies the human city-stronghold of Der Golad. Ruled by its wise king, the city serves as a human enclave in the north and as protection against the evil schemes and machinations of the Dragon King and his henchmen. The king, blood related to the mighty Emperor, has witnessed the utter destruction of the elven cities by the Dragon King and his monstrous army, who has steamrolled thru all that opposes him, aided by fearless armored uruks, giant trolls, dragons and evil potentate warlocks. Sending word to the Emperor, the people of Der Golad prepare for the great siege that will come as part of the Dragon King's campaign to ensnare the North into his power. But Der Golad's walls are impregnable, they possess the finest archers of the north, and every citizen has taken arms to defend their city and livelihood. A mercenary company, led by Kara the Amazon and Rustius have come forth to fight for the King of Der Golad, albeit for the right price. Time is running short, and allies are in scattered in the wind. LOTR - Durin's Bane

Hi everyone! This would be my first post although I've been reading this forum for years now. It's not as complex as some of the other MOCs I've seen here and my photography skills are not that great so I will have to learn from this post and try to make it better next time. Inspired by some of the works I've seen here and by the new Lego hulk buster armor I decided to take a shot at "The Balrog of Moria". As many here, I was quite disappointed that the Lego LOTR series wasn't continued and I wished Lego had made a proper set of the Balrog... but well it gave me an excuse to try my hand at MOCing (after so many years). Some of the pieces should be replaced once I get them in the proper colors, and I left some grey so that the figure wouldn't look so plain as I find happens sometimes when the design is monochrome. I decided not to try to make wings (I only have one pair of the black dragon wings and they are on my Fellbeast...) but instead just go for the general profile they should give. The fire on its back is a little random, I may just adjust it later, but for now I am quite please with how it turned out. I hope you guys enjoy it and leave me some comments! I will certainly try to learn from this experience and hope to post some more MOCs in the future. Cheers, DSC_0099 by arqangelx1, on Flickr DSC_0106 by arqangelx1, on Flickr DSC_0097 by arqangelx1, on Flickr DSC_0101 by arqangelx1, on Flickr And a final shot of the Moria section of my LOTR display area... DSC_0114 by arqangelx1, on Flickr I am new to posting stuff on forums, so I hope the images can show what I tried to make. You can see more at my Flick or ask for any other images! Thanks all enjoy!

The Elven host marching to war

The Elven cities of the Northwest burn. The Elven Queen has regrouped and entrenched on the Forest Keep. Assesing her remaining troops, she receives notice that the Emperor is marching with a huge army to meet the Dragon King, who is besieging the Human city of Der-Golad. Bringing forth three battalions of her best troops (those who remain anyway), she will ride with the Emperor and his allies to stop the Dragon King and his forces. Her daughter stays behind with the keep's garrison and Eagles. Im finished building the elves and dwarves. I'm building two more batallions of Emperor's troops and a few Goblin Kings to use as shock troops for the Dragon King's army (11 in total plus 2 dragons).
  25. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96035 This is my latest/last LOTR Grey Havens project before presenting the humongous set that joins all previous ones. Description: Mithlond or the Gray Havens The Grey Havens was founded at the beginning of the Second Age by the surviving Elves of Beleriand, those who chose to remain on Middle-earth after the wars against Morgoth. It was afterwards used by the Elves to leave Middle-earth for Valinor. The Grey Havens was part of Lindon, the kingdom directly ruled by Gil-galad, last High King of the Ñoldor in Middle-earth. It was also one of the main sources for the Elven fleet of ships that sailed back and forth between Númenor and Eldamar in Aman. According to the map of Middle-earth Grey Havens's anchorage is divided into the Harlond (the "south-haven") and the Forlond ("north-haven") which occupy the southern and northern banks, respectively, of the River Lune. Because of its cultural and spiritual importance to the Elves, the Grey Havens in time became the primary Elven settlement west of the Misty Mountains prior to the establishment of Eregion and, later, Rivendell. Even after the death of Gil-galad and as the Elves dwindled in numbers by the year, The Grey Havens remained a focal point of the history in the northern part of Middle-earth. Third Age and beyondCírdan the Shipwright was the master of the Havens since its founding; Galdor of the Havens, his messenger, was among the Grey Haven's known inhabitants. Aside from Elves, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins also went to Valinor from the Grey Havens, and a family tradition held that Sam Gamgee (having been himself a Ring-bearer, albeit briefly) did likewise, in the year 1484 of the Shire Reckoning. (Fourth Age 61) The Grey Havens still existed into the Fourth Age under Círdan but its population declined as did the elven presence in Middle-earth. It is unclear just what the Fate of the Elves of Middle-earth was in the early Fourth Age and how long Círdan or his remaining folk dwelled at the Havens and continued to build the great ships that carried the Elves to the Blessed Realm. The set: Basically I decided to portray in several mosaics the voyage of the elves to the grey havens - showing the ships sailing in sunny days, through storms, into the sunset, etc... The gate is a very tall one but it is firmly put together with the use of several plates along. And as usual I've used several motifs from my interpretation of Beleriand Architecture If you missed the previous projects you can check them out here: - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/51716 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/84919 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88866 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96032
