    [MOC[ Tantive IV Hallway

"I have traced the Rebel Spies to her." Tantive IV 0 BBY "I have traced the Rebel Spies to her." Tantive IV 0 BBY by Nicholas Goodman, on Flickr
  2. Hi everyone! I have been building up to tackling a 'Blockade Runner' CR90 Corvette for over a year, MOCs this size are definitely not my strong point so my thanks go to community members Bruxxy and MasterBrickSeparator for their help. First things first, here's a render of both the Tantive IV and Liberator colour schemes, there are more on my Flickr page and should any of you be interested the instructions for both colour schemes are available on Rebrickable. I can hear a lot of you screaming at your screens "Its not micro!" and I admit you're probably right, the build is 59cm long and weighs 1.6kg which is similar to the Tantive IV set 75244 from 2019. It is however the same scale (1:250) as the rest of my little fleet of ships so I feel like I couldn't not slip micro into the title. I've tried my best to make the exterior as accurate as possible, I began by dividing and measuring the obvious sections and designing them seperately in Studio, then connecting them to a Technic frame. I started with the cockpit and worked backwards, although I nearly gave up there as getting the shape right whilst leaving space for an bridge was a nightmare, the modular nature of the ship made building the rest much easier though. The central fins also proved difficult, they are the most fragile part of the ship and can be easily knocked out of position, but very luckily they fit around the cylindrical core well enough to look pretty accurate. The fins also make the ship harder to pick up, two hands are required to lift the ship off a surface until you can hold the stand in one hand. I'll keep working on his aspect in case a stronger solution is possible, I would really love it if I could make the ship one-handedly swooshable. Fininishing with the engines I came across a new challenge, how to build the 11 thrusters with enough detail but not so much that they would cost a fortune in small pieces. The structural frame is very strong, its probably overengineered but I'm pleased with how solid the build feels as the strength was a complete unknown to me whilst designing in Studio. Best of all the frame allows for a tiny interior, sadly its not 1:250 scale (Lego pieces only go so small!) but it does give the MOC some extra playability and character. The roof can be removed in two sections to expose the cockpit, the upper deck and top gunner position, a central corridor running the length of the ship and the docking areas near the rear side pods. The upper deck can also be removed to reveal the main deck's conference room, side engineering corridors and micro escape pods, which are also all removable. At the end of the project I especially enjoyed adding a little 4-stud tall crew, each little stack of round plates is probably unreconisable individually but I think that when they're seen together with the ship they really come to life! Whilst putting together the instructions for both colours I decided that I wanted to build the Liberator from Star Wars Rebels. I've been rewatching the show and I have to admit that after seeing the ship in action repeatedly in season 2 I feel that its far more exciting than the Tantive IV! I'd love to take more photos of the Liberator with my other micro ships but at the moment I don't have the equipment, skill or enough micro A-Wings to do a decent job, but I'm working on it. Here's a few photos showing the Liberator along with my micro Ghost and X-Wing, plus the interior. You can see more in my Flickr album. I've tried to balance detail and cost, so apart from a few rare colours for the Rebels crew the 1900ish parts are all common and each of the ship colour schemes will cost roughly £/€/$150 to build. I know that the Blockade Runner has been recreated in Lego many times, both by Lego themselves and the community, but I've tried to make something with a few unique features that is hopefully a worthwhile addition to the roster. Thanks for taking the time to look :)

    [MOC] Leia's Shuttle

From the Resistance Troop Transporter (75140) of course :-)
  4. My first build of 2018. It's been too long since I worked on the Midifigures. It was time for an update with better leg, arm and head articulation with a complete head to toe redesign. Something I have been wanting to do since their inception. I present you with my favorite Star Wars character Princess Leia. More characters to come. Let me know what you think.
  5. LOTHAL SYSTEM, LOTHAL. SENTINEL BASE, ONE STANDARD DAY BEFORE THRAWN'S ARRIVAL... Holo transmission between Governor Tarkin and Emperor Palpatine... Emperor Palpatine to Tarkin: Governor, I received a report on a series of attacks by Phoenix Squadron on Sentinel base. Is this true? Tarkin: My Lord, the report states the truth. Palpatine(angrily): I expected better than this. You should have eradicated them by now, instead of being attacked Governor. Tarkin: But my Lord, the attacks were unexpected, and... Palpatine: Spare me the excuses Governor, I see that you are unfit for the task at hand, that is why I am sending Grand Admiral Thrawn to assist you. Tarkin(protesting): But your Lordship, I can handle this task without need Palpatine: Silence Governor! Perhaps I should send Lord Vader instead. Tarkin(afraid): There is no need my Lord, Grand Admiral Thrawn will be enough. Palpatine(pleased): Then so it shall be, Governor. I expect the situation to be resolved soon. Tarkin(very unhappy): Yes my Lord TRANSMISSION END SENTINEL IMPERIAL RESEARCH BASE ON LOTHAL, MISSILE RESEARCH DEPARTMENT, PRESENT TIME.... STAR DESTROYER CHIMAERA, CURRENTLY ORBITING LOTHAL. Assigned by Emperor Palpatine to aid Grand Moff Tarkin in defending the highly important missile base on Lothal, Grand Admiral Thrawn, along with his star destroyer, the Chimaera, have finally arrived in orbit around the planet. Boarding his shuttle, the Grand Admiral is prepared to crush the local resistance, also capturing key members part of Phoenix Squadron. The Lambda shuttle began it's landing procedure as it approached the landing pad. Shortly after landing, Grand Admiral Thrawn emerged from the shuttle, escorted by his usual security detail. Gazing around the airfield, Thrawn spotted troopers rushing to put out flames from the shield generator and the fuel tanks. Tarkin(unpleasantly,to Thrawn): Welcome Grand Admiral, to Sentinel base. We are honored by your presence. Thrawn(to Tarkin): Thank you Governor. Tell me, is there something troubling you? Tarkin(surprised): No, not at all Grand Admiral. Thrawn: We shall get to business then. Tarkin: Yes. Recently, there were a series of rebel attacks on our missile research base. Thrawn(Interrupting): So I heard. Tarkin(angry at being interrupted): Fortunately our defenses were enough to stop them from destroying the launch pad. The Emperor is very displeased. Thrawn: So that's the reason the Emperor assigned me here. Perhaps you can show me a few holo recordings of the attacks. Tarkin(unhappily) : Yes, we captured most of the attacks on the hidden holo cams as well discovering a phoenix insignia burned on a wall. Thrawn: Show me. Leading the Grand Admiral to the missile launch pad, Tarkin showed Thrawn the massive phoenix shaped burn on the wall. Thrawn: Interesting... After leaving the missile pad, Thrawn went to his new office in the research complex. Studying the holo recordings, a smile creeping onto his lips, Thrawn finally understood the motive of the rebels and their true target. Reaching for his comlink, he called Tarkin to his office. Tarkin: Yes Grand Admiral? What is it? Thrawn: Governor, I believe I have discovered the true target of the rebels. Tarkin: Really? What is it? The missile launch pad! That's their target! I will tighten the security there immediately! Thrawn: As I expected. You fell for their ruse. Tarkin: If it isn't the missile, then what is their target? Thrawn: Think Governor. The rebels obviously found the location of the missile. If they wanted to destroy it, the lab would be rubble by now. The attacks were a ruse to make us loosen our security in the laboratory so they can steal the technical readouts of the missile. Tarkin: So do I need to double the security in the lab? Thrawn: No Governor, still, prepare your troops. Tarkin: If I shouldn't tighten the security, why prepare my troops? Thrawn: I assure you Governor, if you listen to me, the rebels will be captured by the end of the day. Tarkin(Questioningly): Okay? So I'll follow your lead then.Thrawn: Good. Bring in some shadow guards as well, Governor. Tarkin : Why? Thrawn: I got a feeling that there will be Jedi present at the attack. RESEARCH LAB, COMPUTER TERMINAL, NEAR THE LAUNCH PAD, EIGHT STANDARD HOURS AFTER THRAWN'S ARRIVAL... HISSSSS... As the cut metal was pushed aside, Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren and several troopers entered the laboratory. Ezra: Now that's easy. Sabine: The imperials don't seem to have even tightened their security. Trooper 1: Lieutenant, we found the technical readouts. Ezra: Extract them. Let's hope our luck holds out. Kanan: Be quick. I sense a trap. As the trooper extracted the technical readouts of the missile, the lights suddenly turned on and two squads of stormtroopers ran in, blasters drawn as well as two Shadow Guards and their Shadow Troopers. Grand Admiral Thrawn and Governor Tarkin soon entered the lab, escorted by Senate Commandos. Ezra: Thrawn! Tarkin: Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren and Kanan Jarrus, you are under arrest! Ezra(angrily): How did you know we are attacking the lab? Thrawn: I noticed that you found the missile launch pad, yet you did not destroy it.Kanan: And how did you know we will be here? Thrawn: I suspect that your padawan learner left the phoenix mark with his lightsaber, to tell us that Phoenix Squadron was behind the attacks.Tarkin: Enough with the chit chat, trooper take them away! Sabine(to Thrawn): No matter how hard you try, Grand Admiral, Phoenix Squadron will always be one step ahead! Thrawn: I don't think so, rebel scum. In time, it will be I who is the victor. He watched the troopers as they led the rebels away. Tarkin: Your reputation certainly precedes you Grand Admiral. Thrawn: I'll take that as a compliment. Tarkin to Thrawn: The Emperor will be pleased. Not only did we resolve this matter, we captured two Jedi for him as well. Thrawn: Yes Governor, he will be. Also, I received a transmission form the Emperor himself. Tarkin(nervous): what did he say? Tell me! Thrawn: You are relieved of your assignment effective immediately. I am in charge of the Lothal system now and the problem of Phoenix Squadron. Tarkin(very mad): WHAAAT! Thrawn(calm): The Emperor requests you to go to imperial center at once as well. Tarkin(fuming): Oh I will! --------END-------- Pics of the mocs Made a sliding door for the big moc, got a bit stuck in the middle. here is a video
  6. It's been a while since I built a Leia figure and with the sad news of her passion late in 2016, I decided to build a figure of her iconic "A New Hope" princess figure with her 2 buns, white dress and wielding a blaster as a tribute. The head was the trickiest part. I was highly inspired by the cuteness of Luc Byard's brickbuilt Leia, but I didn't want her head to be as big or cartoony. Hope you like it. I will build some more characters at this scale as they are not as part count demanding. Couple pictures below and few additional ones on my Flickr account. R.I.P. 7. Not sure this is right in terms of what this contest is about but I figured I might as well post my new MOC here since it is a SW-vig. This scene shines a little light on what happened to Leia's golden bikini. For those of you who thought she just threw it awayafter she escaped Jabba's sailbarge, I can assure you that wasn't the case. She wore it on many vacations on years to come :) Leia's day at the beach (3) by Andreas Lenander, on Flickr Leia's day at the beach (2) by Andreas Lenander, on Flickr Leia's day at the beach (5) by Andreas Lenander, on Flickr Leia's day at the beach (1) by Andreas Lenander, on Flickr

    [MOC] Star Wars Bobbleheads

This is a project I've been working on from time to time during the summer. A bobblehead is a toy figure with an oversized head that is connected to the body with a spring. When you lightly tap on its head it wobbles (or bobbles) back and forth for a while. I was thinking about how a bobblehead could be made by LEGO bricks, and how the wobbling effect could be built. There is no real LEGO spring that can be used for this purpose, so I had to think of something else to use. After some trial and error I found a simple technic using an LEGO antenna piece which creates a wobbling effect that works really well. The video below shows how it works in reality. I created an Ideas project of it as well, so please have a look and I would appreciate if you gave it your support. I decided to recreate six characters from the original Star Wars movie into LEGO bobbleheads - Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. The head can also be turned in all directions like in the image below. Hope you enjoy it!

    [MOC] Artoo gets the message

This is a scene from A New Hope where Leia hands over the Death Star plans (on a five and a quarter inch floppy disc?) to Artoo aboard the Tantive IV that I've wanted to do for a while. I challenged myself to pull it off in an hour. The lighting was achieved by awkwardly holding a laser pointer in my mouth trying to hit the red 2x2 trans-red dish while I grabbed the shot! Comments greatly appreciated! Without "lighting"... ...and with. Ariel view
  11. Slave Leia vs MODOK Star Wars vs. Marvel Contest, Category A As a very last minute entry, I've created a build that depicts the predictable consequences of a Star Wars and Marvel mashup: Built Time: 7 Hours Enjoy! ~Nemo
  12. This was made for my new video that was made in 22 hours. In the photo I included the original plate in the top left corner. Alot of the fx I added in was a rust texture for the speeder along with dust and some color correction. Alot of the parts in the speeder came from the Hulkbuster suit I made for an Avengers video awhile back. If you would like to check out the speeder in action here's the video below. Thanks for looking and may the force be with you!

The new Yoda headline is truly beautiful and continoues on the back side with dark green background, I have to say that so far this is my favourite box design. The main picture shows us the Barge in full glory flying through the sandsea of Tatooine, it’s the europian version so you can only see the set name and number. Let’s take a look at the back. As usual we see the play features in little windows and a scene where the Barge is blowing up. I really like that nowadays Lego puts pictures about the set from different viewpoints int he low right corner. On the top we can see the lineup of figures with their names and a New mark for new figs. Max is presented in real 1:1 size. The contents of the box We get seven big bags with parts, Jabba is a seperate bag, 2 tubes (one is spare). Also we get 2 thick BIs, a huge poster and the sails in a bag with a cardboard to protect them. The BI has a plain olivish-gray background. The color differentation is good but when you reach the nose and the side panels the brown colors are melting together and there were a few steps where I left out a part because it was hard to spot. Although it was easy to follow and had no problem with it. Here is the poster, it’s really huge, about 1x2 meters with a great action scene, the other side is the same as in the Republic Gunship, it shows the 2013 lineup of figures with their names and set number where they can be found. Also we get a sticker sheet which may cause mini heart attacks to somebody who hates stickers, there are 26 of them but you have to apply them on plates, so it’s easy, but I can see that somebody doesn’t buy this because there are lot of them. The sails are made of plastic and I think it’s the same that we saw int he previous Sail Barge. And here are the content of the bags, each big bag contains a little as well for the small pieces. Leia’s and Rebo’s headpiece comes in a small polybag to protect them, both of them is made of softer rubbery ABS. Ree-Yees’s head is also from this material but he didn’t get a polybag, I don’t know why. Build And we have the first wave of figures who are coming with bag one plus Jabba’s bag. Leia is beautifully painted with an awesome headpiece, she has a second face as well which has an angry expression. She has a nice back painting as well. Our next one is Max Rebo, he is the cutest minifig I’ve ever seen. His headpiece is perfect with painted eyes, but that’s all for the prints on him, he is plain azure blue which looks astonishing in real. And there is Jabba that we’ve aready seen, but he is still looks great and has a rotateable upper body and moveable arms. The remaining figs are coming with the last bag so I will show them when I get there to keep you excited:D The first bag makes the strong base with technic parts The second bag adds the floor of the Barge with some more details. The back section where Max’s „piano” will be has a very clever design add a different angle ont he back. We also build Jabba’s bed or what, with this bag, the dark green and dark red plates are looking great together. Aaaand here we have the music instrument itself, the build is quite clever and gives a futuristic piano look. And the gig can start:D the other bag with number 2 makes the interior of the Barge, adding a prison cell and a little oven to cook blue ice cream. The prison cell is quite lame because on the back side it’s open… Just a shot with Everybody’s favourite bikini and it’s owner. And the owner of the bikini owner:D Let’s continue with the build, bag 3 which makes my favourite part of the barge, the nose. Some complain about beign to blocky but I have to say that I really like it. There is lot of brown parts here and it’s attached to the main body with 3 teching pins. One of the best paly feature can be found here as well, the nose hides a cannon which come forward if you open the hatch and slides back when you close it. And that’s how it looks connected to the body. Bag 4 contains the parts for the rear side panels, you have to apply 6 stickers on each sides. There is one thing that is a negative point for me, the little side wings are too plain, at least in the previous edition they’ve put a dish on it to spice it up. Now the Barge is taking shape. The side panels look great on the outside but ont he inside it’s random colors with lots of plates, I have to say that it’s not pretty but very sturdy and durable. With the 5th pack we cover the rest of the ship and add the remaining stickers. The back looks great but there is a little space between the 3 panels on the back. And we already reached the last bag which contains the main deck with the last 3 figs. R2-D2 is nothing special we’ve seen him dozens of time, but I was glad to get it because I have only the old, white headed R2. Let’s continue with Ree-Yees, he has rubbery palstic head which looks too happy, his headmold looks great, I really like the gran species in SW so I’m glad that we have on mad of Lego. He has eye and mouthprint, but IMO the tan color is too bright and it would’ve been better to add a darker tone to it (like on Jar-Jar’s head). His clothes are dark brown, the body painting is nothing special, a decent robe with a belt, he has backpaint too. And the last figure is a nameless Weequay soldier which looks awesome, I was surprised because I wasn’t excited about him. His clothes are very colorful and has a great bodyprint with some sort of leather armor on it, the back is cool too, he has long hair which continues on his body. And the best part is his head, there are scars and wrinkles. Here is the deck without the sails. The turret looks good and what’s a SW set without filck-fire missiles right? And here is the finished set. Overall Thought: When I first saw the pics of this set I wasn’t really interested in it and wanted to get the Gunship. But OT sets have a unique atmosphere which makes them the best (As I’m getting older I start to like OT more). I’m really happy with this set and glad that I chose this. The ship itself is great and it’s quite large, I sadly don’t have the skiff to comapre it, but it’s almost half meters long. The figures are lovely especially Max. The set also contains loads of useful parts in brown, dark tan and the usual SW colors (gray, dark gray, black). I really like the play features as well, I buy sets to display rather than playing with it, and this set is on the border between display and play set; the opening side is a great addition for kids to play and a good way to show the sets interior. We also have the cannon in the nose, the Barge has wheels too and there is the indispensable set of flick- missiles. Scoring Design: 9/10 I really like the overall look of the set, but it could’ve been bigger and there is the problem with the undetailed sidewings. Parts: 10/10 850 pieces of goodies. Lots of brown, dark tan, black, gray and dark gray parts. Also there are loads of bigger plates too. Minifigs: 10/10 I cannot complain, we get 6 and 4 of them is new, more would be better but The quality of the figs are superb so I’m satisfied with them, my only negative is R2’s waiter plate, it’s not accurate and it doesn’t look good. Price: 8/10 I got the set for 34000 HUF which is about 25$ cheaper than the original S@H price. My concern is that the Gunship is almost the same price and has 300 more parts. Build: 9/10 I’d give it a maximum, but the color differentation for brown parts are quite lame in the BI and it makes the building procedure harder. Also there are loads of repetition, it’s not a problem for me because I enjoy building the most, so it’s acceptable, but for children I imagine that hey get bored while making the same step for the 5th time. And there is that 26 stickers too. I hope this review helped deciding whether to buy this or not, comments are welcome and appreciated, thanks for opportunity. - Csacsa234

  15. Here is my take on the Future of Star Wars: Star Wars - Episode VII 'Twilight Dawning' In this scene, Han Solo & Princess Leia Organa-Solo have chased down a new Bounty Hunter, Kal Durusk, into a small subsidary section of Bespin's Cloud City. Kal has the plans to a new weapon that will make life difficult for the Skywalkers...problem is Han and Leia are getting a little long in the tooth, and Kal looks to be escaping! Han pauses to catch his breath, and leans hard on his walking stick. He faces camera and breaking the fourth wall states,"We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness", while Leia attempts to focus her blaster rifle on the fleeing Bounty Hunter, only to have to pause to rearrange her glasses on her nose. Will the old Rebels manage to capture the Bounty Hunter? Or will they realise that their twilight years are upon them, and give it up in order to spend more time with the grandchildren... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 1 by mjfirefly, on Flickr This pic shows the vignette as first built, Kal's blaster can be seen poking out to one side! Please, also note the Clone Trooper helmet. Han has a walking stick in one hand and blaster in the other, while Leia is in her most comfortable robe.
