Deep Sea Suit

Instructions available NOW for US $7.99: Instructions Explore the depths of the deep sea with the HERMES EX101 Deep Sea ExoSuit. Seat yourself in the double-walled cockpit and use the levers to control the arms and legs. Be careful, though, the oxygen may run out! Attach the hook to rocks so you don't drift away (and watch out for the sharks)! This mech is designed with LEGO bricks that are currently available. However, lights are not included in the package but are only shown in the render. They can be purchased at several third-party retailers including LYGOD, LightMyBricks, Brickloot, and Lightailing. BUILD Deep Sea Suit Lit Drop 1 by Peter Bryant, on Flickr This build is remarkably simple: It's divided into 14 submodels, most of which are repetitive. I incorporated what I believe to be my best SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques yet. DESIGN PROCESS As with all of my MOCs, I started by doing a rough sketch of how I wanted it to look. I took heavy inspiration from 76105-1 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition. This means that many design elements are taken from that mech. For example, the design of the legs is very similar to, but not a direct copy of, that robot. Please, consider purchasing as I am trying to gather all of the parts to build in real life. FEATURES Minifigure cockpit (as in, a Minifigure fits inside) Fully posable Instructions bundle includes .xml file for easy upload to BrickLink and full - color instructions (White Background) Sticker Sheet and display stand coming soon!
2. This is my own creation of a Mercedes-Benz G550 4x4² SUV. Check out my Rebrickable post for instructions which you can download for free: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-43865/BrickHugger171/mercedes-benz-g550-4x42/?inventory=1#comments
3. Inspired by set 5984 (Lunar Limo) but with the firing missile and stickers removed. The gold and purple parts have also been removed for a subdued color scheme. This limo was originally Black Hole Gang leader Brick Daddy's limo, and as such was passed onto his second in command, Mister Gray upon his death. The limo's purple and gold were removed, and a subdued gray color scheme added instead. The limo remains Mister Gray's personal transportation now that he is retired, but this is a ruse to keep the Space Police off his tail. The real work that he does is helping rebel cells fight the Space Police IV forces, either by smuggling oppressed people around in his spacious limo, or using the secret panels to covertly transport gold or cash around to rebel hideouts or stops on the underground railroad to freedom in the galaxy's central core, where sensors can not penetrate and big ships cannot enter due to the increased gravity and many asteroid chunks. The limo's obvious weapons such as missile launcher were removed when Mister Grays went clean, but the secret is that he kept the EMP generator and code scrambler as a precaution. these would prove to be most helpful in his new role as founder of the resistance network and underground railroad to help oppressed aliens and techno-mages to freedom. The limo can seat one figure at the drivers seat and figure in the back. The trunk and roof open up via hinges. The rear of the ship. The trunk can also hold a figure to smuggle them out of harms way. After the death of the Brick Daddy, a criminal power vacuum caused war to erupt between Squidman and the mysterious Mister Gray, who was Brick Daddy's shady accountant and a corrupt lawyer. As Mister Gray slowly took over the Black Hole Gang from rival Squidman, he forced the Space Police III (who were at war with Blacktron 3 at the time) to regroup into the totalitarian Space Police IV by way of joining sides with Blacktron 3 forces. This proved critical to anti-alien leaning leaders of the Space Congress' plan of eradicating both the Blacktron scourge and Black Hole Gang. In the end, the Blacktron retreated to the edges of known space, and the Black Hole Gang was 100% destroyed save two major members: Squidman, who was no longer a Black Hole Gang member when the Gang declared war of the Space Police, and Mister Gray, who sold out the gang's location to save himself. He is sometimes now called Mister "Grave" instead, but never to his face, as he alone was responsible for the saturation bombing of the Gang's hideout. This bombing killed most members and blew up it's ammo dump, thus destroying any evidence of Gray's complicity in any past crimes. After this, he decided his clean slate was not worth the blood on his hands, and thus helped found the resistance network to fight the Space Police IV forces. His immense wealth helps out those in need, and he personally smuggles people around in his limo. Here is the LDD file for the ship and it's owner link. Comments, questions, suggestions and complaints welcome!
4. This Kadillax (pronounced similar to "Cadillac") originally belonged to Black Hole Gang's second in command under the Brick Daddy. This financial / legal wizard is code-named Mister Gray. The Kadillax remains his personal transportation now that Gray is "retired", but this is a ruse to keep the Space Police off his tail. The real work that he does is helping rebel cells fight the Space Police IV forces, either by smuggling oppressed people around in his spacious limo and it's opening trunk, or using the secret panels to covertly transport gold or cash around to rebel hideouts or stops on the underground railroad to freedom in the galaxy's central core. The core is where sensors can not penetrate and big ships cannot enter due to the increased gravity and many asteroid chunks. In reality, this model started as 70906, Joker's Notorious Low-rider. I changed the colors, removed most of the golden parts and exchanged the bouncy wheels for hover pods. The vehicle's obvious weapons such as missile launcher / ray guns were removed when Mister Grays went clean, but the secret is that he kept the EMP generator and code scrambler as a precaution. These would prove to be most helpful in his new role as founder of the resistance network and underground railroad to help oppressed aliens and techno-mages to freedom. Mr. Gray also keeps a classic blaster in reach at all times... just in case. The vehicle can seat one figure at the drivers seat and figure in the passenger's seat . The trunk opens up and the roof is removable. After the death of the Brick Daddy, a criminal power vacuum caused a gang war to erupt between Squidman and the mysterious Mister Gray, who was Brick Daddy's shady accountant and corrupt lawyer. As Mister Gray slowly took over the Black Hole Gang from rival Squidman, he forced the Space Police III (who were at war with Blacktron 3 at the time) to regroup into the totalitarian Space Police IV by way of the Gang joining sides with Blacktron 3 forces. This proved critical to anti-alien leaning leaders of the Space Congress' plan of eradicating both the Blacktron scourge and Black Hole Gang. In the end, the Blacktron retreated to the edges of known space, and the Black Hole Gang was destroyed save two major members: Squidman, who was no longer a Black Hole Gang member when the Gang declared war of the Space Police, and Mister Gray, who sold out the gang's location to save himself. His immense wealth helps out those in need, and he personally smuggles wanted people around in his limo from time to time. As usual, comments, questions, complaints, and suggestions are always welcome!

LEGO 497 Galaxy Explorer

I´m in the process of reconstructing/replicate the Lego 497 Galaxy Explorer set. With respect to the colors of the gary bricks, some e-sellers identify them as being "Light Gray" or "Medium Stone Gray". Which is the correct color for the set? Thanks in advanced for your assured response.
6. I created a grey and silver reference for those that are interested: I'll post other colors as time permits. Enjoy.
7. Something to conquer the harshest terrain. In style. A very gray style. Features: souped up engine cockpit with spaces for biscuit and tea dashboard with navigation aids 4x3 cargo space shovel for when stuck, rifle to blend in while in the colonies the blue thing's supposed to be some sort of cooking surface and storage unit, I don't even know. Fried biscuits? why not active suspension system allows wheelies to impress the natives
8. Hello, when I started collecting the sets from the grey 12v era 1980-1990, I bought many used sets and incomplete lots. Bricklink was (and is) a great help to check them for completeness, and to complete the missing parts. But later on, I faced some problems, e.g.: 1. I found part variants, that Bricklink doesn't know . 2. Some invetories are obviously wrong. For example, it is hard to believe that the power rail 2731a shall be contained in set 7725, but not in 7727. In reality, it looks as if this part wasn't used at all before 1986. 3. Alternative parts are not consistent among various sets. For example, the second version of the black steam cylinder x461 is listed as alternate part for 7730 and 7750, but not for 7865. I got into conctact with other collectors (e.g. Reza) and we exchanged lots of pictures and information. The result is a huge table that can be downloaded here: Table It is a write-proteced Excel file. To use the file, you need a monitor with huge resolution (at least Full-HD) and not too big scaled font size (for Windows, 100% is fine). The table shall be a basis for discussion, not a final document. In many cases, there are only hints and conclusions, but no hard evidence. Any feedback is appreciated. A short guide to the table columns: A "Part" Basic part description B "Variant Type" The different known variants of the part. C "Number" Bricklink part numer. Parts that Bricklink doesn't know, use a "+" at the end of the name, or ar marked "?". D-N "Years" Assignment of the part variants to the years of production / selling. O-P etc. "Sets" Each set consists of two columns. The first one indicates, if the set does containt the part at all. The second columnt indicates, how many parts are contained, and if it is a "regular" or "alternate" part. P.S. I already had contact to the Bricklink inventory admins. They are interested in improving and consolidating the set inventories. But for me, the process is extremely complicated and time-consuming. Every single change for every single set should be handled as separate "inventory change request", and every request takes weeks/months until a decision is made. Imho, this is very ineffective, so I decided to write this text and to provide the table for download.

10027 train shed: dark bluish gray?

Hi guys, A while ago I bought a 10027 train shed from a dutch 2nd hand website. This train shed had for the dark gray parts dark bluish gray parts and I thought that was normal. I thought it was odd that the set had the new dark gray colour and the old light gray colour. I just assumed that the old gray colours weren't replaced at the same time (that replacement took place during my dark ages). This week I got another 10027 train shed and that set had dark gray (old) parts! So I checked Bricklink and it turns out that according to Bricklink the (old) dark gray colour should be in the set. So now raises the question: could it be that Lego sold both versions during the time it was for sale? Or did the seller of the first set rip me off by replacing all the dark gray parts with dark bluish gray parts? He did a great job though, even the 9V rails are dark bluish gray!
