Counter to Robuko's Guerilla against Everlast Besieged, surrounded, and blockaded by Desert King forces, the people of Everlast have been offered supplies and protection to give up control to the Desert King. However, on the town square, a group of strangers have drawn a crowd, handing out food and supplies to the people of Everlast... The Saviour by Beorthan, on Flickr On the podium, a noble-looking, charismatic gentleman is speaking in a booming, deep voice: "The socalled Desert King holds your town in an iron grip, cutting your supplies and starving your families. He claims to mean you no harm, and offers to feed and protect you for your allegiance. But from whom do you need protection? And why are you in need of food? This town has ever been able to support itself, and where it not for the troops of the false god-king, you would be in no need for his socalled gifts!" In the crowd, a low murmur of support is rising, people looking at each other, nodding in agreement, as the elderly gentleman proceeds, raising his voice: "It is said that you should not bite the hand that is feeding you, but are you to rely on this very hand for food, when it is the same hand that holds you in a stranglehold? Who is to say what the price of the next meal will be, should you give up your freedom for this? Will he, who styles himself a god, allow you to live as equals in his realm?" The People by Beorthan, on Flickr The orator looks around, meeting the gaze of many of the on-lookers, as his followers hand out large amounts of fish, meats, bread and other foods. A silence falls over the crowd under the man's serious gaze. Loudly, he continues: "The Desert King promises peace, security and an end to starvation, but at what cost? What sacrifice will this "God" require of you next? Will you give in to his demands for the scraps from his own table, or will you stand against him to preserve your freedom? The Republic of Kaliphlin stands with you, and thus, the people of all of Historica! We offer you supplies at no cost but our own peril. We require naught of you, but that you respect YOUR rights as FREE PEOPLE of these lands!" The murmur in the crowds resumes, slowly rising to a cheer... The Town by Beorthan, on Flickr "We have made it our undertaking to supply you with all you need. We have established secret, hidden routes of supply through the lines of the Foul Besieger. We have done so, not to ask for your support, but to show you that you have ours. The High Council stands as protector of the Republic, and as protector of its people. It stands as YOUR protector!" Silence falls over the plaza, as the orator pauses for a second. "So what will it be? Surrender or Stand Fast? Submission or Freedom?!? I shall leave it up to you and yours, but know that we will do our part in allowing you a free choice in this matter!" A loud cheer of support rises, and out of the noise a chanting emerges, increasing in volume, echoing throughout the valleys of Everlast: "Stand fast.... Stand Fast.... STAND FAST, STAND FAST, STAND FAST!" ____________________________________________________________________________________ That's my counter to Robuko's attempt to take over Everlast. I hope you like it :) I am quite happy with the idea, satisfied with the build and story, but somewhat dissapointed about the pics, though.

When all seems to be lost, ISB Agent Goatm An 46-1 dives into action. Lord Tyrus fires furiously into the overwhelming Rebel forces to provide cover fire. Officer VeR is in position to take out the Rebel's main weapon. As he blindly leaps over the edge of the icy gorge, Goatm quickly assesses the situation below... A Rebel officer presents an obvious target, but Goatm will need to save his blaster for the Rebels outside of his hammer's reach. The taun taun mounted Rebel will need to be removed from a distance, the gorge is too tight to outmaneuver the beast. Officer VeR still hasn't taken out the cannon; this could be a problem... Past scene... Goatm's favorite blood-stained hammer has been with him from the very beginning on Naboo, his families adopted planet. Goatm's father, Kalib Ritter von An had fled to Naboo with Goatm's mother when her father refused their marriage. She was royalty and he a lowly knight with a dubious past. On Naboo, Kalib joined the Naboo Royal Space Fighter Corps and worked as a carpenter. He regularly grumbled about the royalist system, managed economy, and interventionist politics of the Naboo elites. As Goatm grew older, he apprenticed under his father and was soon trusted with the sale and delivery of his father's creations. Goatm's father was too hard-nosed to politely deal with the entitled customers who desired his products, but Goatm had a humble tact with the clients that proved very useful to the family's prosperity. This continued on into Goatm's teenage years, until the Separatist invasion in 32 BBY. Kalib was quite sympathetic to the Separatist cause until the Trade Federation blockade. Despite being a former knight and volunteer pilot, Kalib An was a stanch believer in the non-aggression principle. While these Separatists should be free to leave the Republic, they had no right to enforce a blockade. Kalib prepared his family for the worse. Their home was already on the edge of a large conservation zone and Kalib had secured a tunnel exiting there. This was done early on in case the family had been found by Goatm's vengeful grandfather. On the day of the invasion, Goatm was sent into town to purchase more supplies with the remaining currency and wares the family had. Few on Naboo took the blockade seriously and Kalib's furniture sold at a premium because of the lack of off-world competition. Goatm hurried home as the invasion began. His mother and sister would already be into the tunnel and Kalib would be heading for his N-1 to fight back the invaders. Kalib didn't make it to his starfighter. Their home was swarming with droids. Apparently the Naboo government had been collecting records on its citizens for a long time and the data was not as secure as the bureaucrats thought. Kalib was quickly identified and targeted as a possible threat to the droid occupation. Goatm rushed in to see Kalib dying in front of their home; hammer in one hand. His father couldn't speak. He just bled out and died. Goatm would go on to lead a cell in the Naboo Resistance, tracking down collaborators and dispatching them with extreme brutality, often with his father's hammer. Goatm's mother and sister shunned Goatm for what he had become and once the occupation was over, they returned to his grandfather's court and Goatm embarked for new adventures in the Outer Rim. Update: for an updated version, please scroll down ----------------------------------------------------------------- Ancient Greece has always fascinated me. I studied their language in high school, and this year I visited Greece itself. And although I've been fond of their architecture since a long time, I was impressed by everything I saw there . People say that Greece is just a pile of ancient rocks . But I say that pile of rocks is quite a sight . This inspired me to build some columns in Lego. The Dorian order is very typical for Greece, but not much of a challenge for Lego . I had a go at the Ionian order, but that turned out way too big. Spirals are really hard to do. I was left with the Corinthian order. Although not the most typical for Ancient Greece, the design fascinates me. With the acanthus-leaves, it looks like a tree. It makes temples look like an extention of nature. Not a better thing to do if you want to provoce the super-natural, the divine. The tooth pieces (part ID 49668) made nice leaves, and the rest followed. The problem was fitting as many as possible in a small space. The eight-bar-rings (part ID 75937) prooved to be pretty handy. I used three of them in the capital, and one in the base. It really is the heart of this model. The actual column was rather hard to make. The technique from the Lego website made a column with eight tiles forming a cilinder. That was too small. I ended up with twelve tiles, connected by the cross/steering wheel/winch handle/I-don't-know-what-to-call-it-piece (to make things simple: part ID 48723). It turned out quite well, although I have some minor doubts concerning the strength of the construction. I'm not too happy with the base , but that's not the main focus, and perhaps the pillar should be a little longer. But that shouldn't be too hard to change, and it had to fit on the picture anyway. This design could be used in numerous Greek or Roman builds, and I made sure there were studs on the top and on the bottom to connect it. I hope you get inspired...

[pid][/pid] 252A Hello together, here is my current MOC: Tree of rescue The tree is a cult place of the islanders. When they first arrived at the island they had no more water and food. Everywhere they looked were only rocks and dust. But behind a big rock, they found this tree. They eat the parrats and their eggs. And they drunk the condensed water in the early hours of the days. Later expeditions found ranker places on the island, but this tree was the one who rescued her life. Therefore the tree is a holy place. They build the face of their gods in the rock and sacrifice a lot of food to their gods. Only gods and the king (he is a god) can eat the food. High priests protect the holy place and kill everybody who try to eat from the food of the gods. People they catch will be draped on the head of the god for determent. I would be glad for every comment, thanks

“There it is.” Dressed in smuggler clothes, we approach our destination. Just agent An and me, two pilots, on a rapid reconnaissance mission while the rest of the troops continue to search Ord Mantell. There’s only a small chance we will find him here. But the files on the datapad have led us to this once beautiful temple, hidden between the forests on the surface of Bothawui. They are rumoured to be infested with Rebels. Still, nothing indicates this place is of special importance… not anymore. “See that antenna hidden on the roof? We’re here alright... Yes, here is some kind of hatch. Let’s go in and take them by surprise!” Things always go so quickly with agent An. Frightfully quickly… “We aren’t wearing these smuggler clothes just to blow are cover the very second we enter the place. You don’t even know what we’ll find. It could be a Rebel cell wiped out by the Bounty Hunter. Or it could be a whole battalion of Rebels. If you’re not careful, you drop right into a sarlacc pit.” “What do you propose then, genius?” My colleague can be awfully sarcastic. Like a little boy robbed of his favourite Ackay action hologram… “Why don’t walk in casually? Pretend to be one of them, whoever is down there. Talk them into giving you the evidence. Why would you make this a massacre?” “Oh, I see… What if I go in and… improvise, while you stand guard here. Someone has to watch my back. Just blast anyone who makes a fuss here…” Sarcastic as his proposal may sound, I consent. I’m not getting involved in whatever happens down there. And the chances someone comes here are slim. “That’s what we’ll do. And if someone shows up here, I’ll… improvise.” He already threw open the hatch and descends the stairs. A muffled cry. I’m not staying here to find out from who. I’m not going to stay here to witness yet another tragedy. I don’t want to be part of this scene of death. I turn away. That temple… it seems like it is consecrated to life, to nature. Those two beautiful columns, with a closed bud and an open flower, the geometric patterns evoking foliage… I wonder what it was used for, what it all means. Yet, I’m attracted to it. It’s strange how nature is destroying the homage to itself. And even then, there might be a meaning to it all. This really is a sacred place. A reflection by… [soNE Ep. What if they enter the hatch. I can’t just kill them… they might be civilians. I don’t know how it will help me, but contacting Goatm is the only thing I can think of. Our communication only makes things worse. Below, there will soon be an even greater ruin than up here. Gunfire and cries. The Bothans seem as distressed as I am, and decide to leave quietly. I guess they don’t want to be in this as much as I. So far for giving my colleague back cover. [soNE Ep. VI] 4 - Ruins among ruins by Bert.VR, on Flickr I can think again. So it is true: there really are… or sadly were Rebels down there. How did they get involved with the bounty hunter? Why would Boba Fett bother to steal a genuine Rebel datapad somewhere? Surely, a smaller clue would have done to blame the Rebels for that atrocious deed on Ord Mantell. Unless… he had it already with them, stolen it from Rebels that he had encountered. Maybe the datapad still holds some information. It was never meant to be investigated, but that might be the reason there is still useful information in there… It doesn’t take me long to find what I’m looking for. Indeed, the mission of the Rebel this datapad once belonged to, was to track down Boba Fett, in an attempt to rescue a certain Solo. So the Rebels are after the bounty hunter as well, at the same time. What a coincidence. At least, they have reason, unlike our own absurd mission… The truth is simple and astonishing. Our mission isn’t to get Boba Fett and deliver him some ridiculous ‘Thank you’ card at all. Sure, finding the bounty hunter is our priority, but the reason is something else entirely. This mission is a mere excuse to get to the Rebels. We only want to track the bounty hunter to know where to find the Rebels. It isn’t about finding him, it’s about finding those that are searching for him. Our real bounty, are the Rebels… Ruins. But why? Why weren’t we just told that we were hunting Rebels? Why did they try to conceal the real purpose of this mission from us? Is it to give us a false feeling of safety? Is it so that we ask as few questions as possible? Or is it to make us forget what we’re actually doing, to turn us into mindless machines? Why? I don’t know why. But what I do know, is that this is intolerable. One cannot just conceal a war from the people that are suffering the consequences! If there is a war, you can’t hide it. People have the right to know what’s going on. So that they either can support or resist it. There’s a difference between people that live to ignore the war, and people that live in ignorance of the war. But neither of them can have an opinion, neither of them gets listened to, neither of them gets a chance to stand up and change things. And both of them should be awakened. It’s hideous to hide things from people, without hiding the consequences for them. If people don’t know what’s happening, they have no chance of fighting back. Hiding these things, silencing them, is a crime. It is just like that bounty hunter, who’s example the Empire is apparently obediently following. He commits an atrocious crime, and walks away, blaming it on someone else, so that people are powerless to fight back. It’s like blaming the supernatural for something you did, so other people can’t do a thing about it. It’s hiding what you did behind an unbreakable façade. And that hiding, is a crime. And it has to be stopped. There’s only one way to break this wall of ignorance down. People have to know what’s really happening. Somebody has to tell it to them. No, not somebody, someone far away. Everybody. I have to tell the world what’s happening. Maybe that’s my purpose in life. It’s a nice feeling to know that… Of the whole world, I already informed one, myself. The link in the middle leads to his entry, as the story could be inserted there. Be sure to check his fantastic entry out as well! And thanks a lot for the inspiration, goatman! With 1411 bricks, this is a rather parts intensive MOC (there are more pieces in the creation, than there are words in the enormous story above, 1133 words to be exact). That's due to the different patterns, on the wall and in the floor. When I look at it in reverse, there could be less, with areas of the ground that are already covered, but with this tight deadline, I'm leaving it as it is. Apart from the different patterns, I also tried to incorporate some extra nice features. I'm very pleased with the columns, and I tested the design in real life, so they're absolutely clean, and maybe I'll post a tutorial someday on how to make those shafts. I admit that the tree is probably a very fragile construction. I already tested this technique, but i can't assure this particular configuration will hold, so I hope you're fine with the fact that the idea is possible. The roof construction is overly complicated, but I like the way the bricks form nice patterns, so let's stick to this fragile design. There are also some features that aren't clearly visible on the pictures, like some cracks in the ceiling and ornaments towards the roof. You can check these out in the digital model. So I hope you like the MOC and the story, as I put a lot of work and thought into it. Let me know what you think. PS: I hope the story made you think once again, and I would be very pleased to know what you think the 'hidden' meaning of the temple (and the way it is destroyed) is (yes, I really put a meaning in there!). This is my latest MOC based around life on Hadrian's Wall that I'd like to share with you. Evidence for the worship of the Roman god Mithras begins to appear in the 1st century AD and disappears sometime in the 4th century. The cult of worshiping Mithras is usually thought to be of Persian origin, however since no ancient source preserves the god’s mythology, such an assumption should be treated with caution. Whatever its origins, from at least the 3rd century the cult became popular among members of the military stationed in Britain and as such temples were erected in the forts along Hadrian’s Wall, with a particularly well preserved example being located at Carrawburgh. All temples featured a representation, be it in relief, statue or fresco, of Mithras killing a bull. This is known today as a "tauroctony", and appears in the same format everywhere, though minor variations do exist. While most temples were built underground, representing the cave in which Mithras slew the bull, this was not possible on Hadrian’s Wall. Temples were therefore constructed in a way that mimicked caves, usually only being lit by torchlight and small openings in the roof. This MOC is roughly based on the temple at Carrawburgh, although I have opted for a far grander tauroctony than was actually present at the site. This is not to take anything from the archaeological remains at Carrawburgh, which still possesses three fine shrines dating from the 3rd century and is well worth visiting. This MOC is my first attempt at an interior of a building, my first go at creating mosaics and my first use of lighting as part of the MOC itself – so incorporating all of these meant it took me a bit longer to build than expected! I also wanted to create a temple that didn’t conform to the classic Greco-Roman style; I feel there are enough really good Lego examples of these already in circulation. If you have a good memory, you may remember the Corinthian column I made some time ago. I got a lot of good comments on that one (thank you!), and I wanted to build some more... stuff . I wanted to revisit that magnificent Ancient Greece, with it's buildings. I wanted to give those ruined pieces of art their former glory again. I wanted to build... some more columns. Real Greek ones, this time. Not that modern Roman stuff. If you have a perfect memory, you may remember that I said the Ionic column was hard to do because of its spirals (volutes, if you prefer fancy terms). I did have a go at designing one however, but I began to think the spirals were impossible to do . And if you don't get those right, your column is not right. You can take that quite literally. I made a compromise on the volutes, but had to fight all kinds of structural blabla . If you have a good eyesight, you may have noticed that I'm presenting now an Ionic column nontheless. What happened? Some would call it a miracle, some just inspiration. I found the Indiana Jones whip. It was just perfect. The size, the shape, the extra details, the easy connections, the look and feel. I felt this whip was made for something more than being in every Indiana Jones set. It became my new best friend. Once I had my spiral (the only spirally part in LEGO, I believe), the column flowed onto my LDD screen (and a bit later, on my render screen). At once, all the structural hustle and bustle fell away. At almost the first try, I had something I was completely happy with. A worthy sibling of my Corinthian column. And that's what you see in front of you. Before anyone asks: the column should be buildable in real life. I know the whips aren't available in white, but everything else apart form the One Rings I used, is available in white (now even the croissant!). Furthermore, I believe the column's quite stable. It uses the same technique that I learned from Jamie, in the designer video on the LEGO Creator website . This is my tribute to that video, because it made me want to make columns five years ago. I've come a long way... . So I hope you enjoy this Ionic column in minifig scale, containing 254 bricks. And I looked it up for you: this is the first one in LEGO to appear on the internet. Hope you appreciate it.

When darkness sweeps across the land, Choking life with blight Come forth from fabled Angel's Peak A hero of the light. Born a mortal, child of dwarf, Clad in shining faith, With heaven's hosts by his side, He'll vanquish evil's wraiths. As foretold by the prophecy of old, Nivre was born a dwarf, but that remains all he knows of his heritage. Ever since he could remember, he'd been raised in Angel's Peak, a sacred temple of light hidden high in the mountains, mentored by 3 of the greatest paladins of the era. One night, he'd awoken having dreamt of wandering in a world shrouded in darkness. When he had told his mentors, they'd exchanged knowing looks and told him of the prophecy. Within a month, he'd made ready to leave Angel's Peak to seek out his destiny.. I've been a lurking in these forums for a long time, having only really gotten out of my dark ages not too long ago. I've been in awe of many of the awesome mocs i've seen here and I'd love to be part of it all. As it is, I'm still deciding on a guild to join, what's holding me back's a low brick count (what you see here is about 95% of my usable bricks as it is). This is also my first real moc (rainbow castles almost 20 years ago aside ).

Since I was at holiday in Athens in the summer of 2010 it have been my dream to build an ancient Greek LEGO layout. But my mother and I did also have many other building projects. Therefore it was not possible to start before January 2012. It took 10 month to build the layout. It’s our largest MOC. The area of the layout is 2.3 x 2.8 meter. The layout shows a typical Greek town from around year 400 BC. The name of the town is Legopolis. Symmetry, harmony and geometry were importation values in the Ancient Greece. Therefore it have been our goal to build a town in that style. 14-17. Here's my second entry to the Wonderful Things Building Drive, entitled: "Lost Temple". An intrepid explorer has discovered the Lost Temple deep in the thick jungle of South America. The Lost Temple shows its age, having been worn down by the elements over the centuries. It is now overgrown with plant life, but hints of its former grandeur remain. I realise now I should have taken a couple of shots without the base to remain within the 8x8 rule. Hopefully I can do that tomorrow before the contest closes.

Once, a very long time ago in ancient times, there lived a man who was a druid and a wizard... But many people says thats just a myth. In the legend, a temple was built for him. But no one knows where. Until now. The temple was found, and because some people said "the temple has magical force", Styrbjorn decided to make a war camp there. The idea with the tall pillar with the ruby was a solar calendar. I had no more dark tan or tan pieces so I say the sun is on one side of the roof, and shadow on the other. The inspiration to the temple was some temples in legend of zelda games and roman architecture. The great oak grows on the temple, maybe magic forces makes it to grow? Styrbjorn in a new hat is planning. The minimicrofigures is meaned to was a figure for a army. The soldiers are training. More soldier training, and a wizard (with bandit's head) is trying toopen the gate with a carrot and a ancient axe. (People says he is mad... Maybe he is, maybe not) The baddest pic of them all... The house! It shall be more houses like this behind but the moc is too small. Sorry for bad pics I must buy a camera. And sorry for my english (i am sure everything is wrong) C&C is welcome. Edit: maybe I should have womens in this moc... No one is to few... Too late now! Edit again: My younger brother said that if this was a lego set he would buy it. That's good, because he Says often "thats really bad" or something like that. *happy*

Hello everyone. It seems the inspiration for my Revenge of the Sith Community Build entry came far quicker than it did for The Phantom Menace Build, and it didn't come at all for the Attack of the Clones Build (), so I set to work straight away when the idea came to me last night. Over the past week I've been rebuilding and updating my Architecture sets for the Eurobricks Official Set LXF Index, and so I suppose I was still in that frame of mind whilst deciding on what I would build for this project. I therefore decided to combine two of my favourite LEGO themes: Star Wars and Architecture, and create the Jedi Temple in the style of a LEGO Architecture set. It is, of course, much bigger and less accurate () than any previously released Architecture sets, (though I'm pleased to say that I think it may be more accurate than some past Star Wars sets ), but I still think it fits the theme well enough. Even though it's a digital model and the Laws of Physics don't have to apply, I tried to build the model in a way that made it structually sound enough to be built with real parts, although many are not available in the colours I used anyway. The building is hollow with no interior, save for a few supports. A close-up of the top and spires. A close-up of the main entrance. -------------------- Front and plan views with part outlines. I spent a couple of hours last night and a few hours today making it, so it is a quick MOC, but hopefully not rushed and sloppy. It is comprised of 2424 parts (coincidentally 24 is my favourite number! ). I'm aware that the scale is not right in certain areas: the ziggurat is probably too tall for its width, and the towers on top are probably too large, and so I may modify it a little more before the deadline, so I'll consider it a WIP for the time being.
