  1. Hi guys, after doing a large build for the SJ17 I did not have much motivation for a new large project immediatly. Then I remembered how I have many uncompleted Age of Mitgardia builds left to do :P Here is my take on the tower phase one! My first focus was on the rockwork, and when I started the tower I had no idea where it was going, but im quite pleased with the result.
  2. It was a nice, bright morning in the open spot where Barnaby's outlaw band had decided to set up training camp. Barnaby himself (the fellow leaping up with the axe in front) was an expert at every sort of thing which was against the law in Mitgardia - from smuggling Kaliphlinian oil to old grandma's who made a point of only buying goods that hadn't been taxed, to relieving rich travelling peps of a bit of extra cash, to cheating in every contest and challenge he entered... Over time, Barnaby had gathered together a fairly good sized group of fellow rascals - but, as his band had a bad habit of bumbling every job they went on, he had decided it was time to take them in hand and make sure they got some adequate training in the rudiments of successful outlawry. So here goes for - Tips on how to become a great Mitgardian Outlaw! - or perhaps better titled, Why you shouldn't bring a lance to a joust with a sneaky Mitgardian outlaw (at least not just a lance!)... First, of course - like we just said, never bring a lance to the lists against a fellow outlaw! Next, always carry an extra (concealed, and probably un-allowed) weapon! Eat and laugh (though probably not at the same time...) - both are way more healthy than you'd think! (Disclaimer: if you're on the run, don't keep your eyes shut while laughing longer than you have to...) Always keep an eye on the weapons... And on the gold. And of course, always cheat! Just a quick build to introduce some new characters which I mean to keep using, hopefully - a kind of Mitgardian version of a group of forestmen (since we're not tree-huggers, you know!) and for the second round of the LCBTC. Overall it didn't end up quite as I'd envisioned it, but I'm fairly happy with the result - not nearly my best, but pretty good for the short amount of time I allowed myself for it! A lot of design credits to hand out here, too! The tree on the right is based on Joeri Ridder's great design, that on the left by some of SK's, and the rabbit is definitely inspired by Balbo's great rabbit design (though somewhat modified with the peg instead of the faun's leg - mostly because I'm simply not in possession of one of those, haha!) And I'll leave you with a final figless overview: Anyhow, thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!
  3. Living in a tower at the top of Rothenheim mountain in northern Mitgardia, Dwalin Forksek, of dwarven descent (though he somehow managed to grow out of it), was generally know as simply "The Alchemist." In utter disregard to the smoke and explosions often heard rumbling out from his cozy workplace and the public's opinion of them - not a very favorable one, by the by - the Alchemist was always certain that he was on the verge of some magnificent discovery which would forever change the course of history. At the moment he was engaged in boiling some yellow substance to vapors in a large cauldron, and - let's see - maybe one more turn of the timer would do... KA-BANG!!! Or then again, maybe not... One thing was certain, though - and that was that the next time something important would be discovered! Not that something wasn't discovered this time too, namely, Do not overcook boiling yellow substances... The room: And our worthy, painstaking laborer in the pursuit of science: A fun little build for GoH (glad to be posting something around here again!) and the first round of the LCBTC, enjoy! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!
  4. Spring is finally here after the long winter battles with the Algus. Stian and Frode pack the extra weapons into the market wagon to take to Falkidalr’s market. Market day is always extra special in spring, as the chills of the winter are shaken off as a cloak and people from many locations bring wares of all types. Merchants and farmers bring their goods to offer the people of Falkidalr what they need while turning a profit to produce more goods. Entertainers are always a welcome presence at the market, and this day proves to have no lack of performers. As Stian and Frode are crossing the bridge to Falkidalr’s main path, two jesters start their performance early for the market-goers at the bridge. Doing somersaults and cavorting around, the jesters thrill with an element of danger as they cross the bridge around the smithy wagon by acrobatic feats on the bridge border wall. Hopefully nobody falls off! Oh, look! The goatherds seem to be having some trouble keeping the goats out of the fresh flowers along the path! Even with the help of a trusty farm dog, goats are difficult to control. There seems to be traffic congestion at the path intersection! The Vitrs are crossing the bridge right when a band of travelling minstrels is passing on the main path. Always ones to please, they play music as they travel. Their music meshes beautifully with the jesters’ antics, much to everyone’s enjoyment. The pig farmer should probably pay more attention to his pigs than the performers, though. He might have been overzealous in thinking he could lead three hogs at once on leashes! Even the old chicken farmer finds his steps lightened by the music and performance. The Falkidalr Leidvordr patrol is also excited by market day and the new sights it brings, though their task of guarding the path becomes more difficult with all of the travelers and precious cargo. Additional Pictures: The market wagon:
And the characters posing for pictures on the bridge: Without figures: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This build took far longer to complete than I thought it would, mostly due to the elevation on the sides needed to allow for the bridge and stream bank and how to close in the edges. The inspiring technique for this build was the bridge arches simply made of an arch of bricks not fully engaged. I have also wanted to make a stream bank with reeds ever since the medium-flesh spike was introduced to the LEGO world. Comments and constructive criticism much appreciated! Thanks for looking, Slegengr Pine tree tutorial is added under the historic forum.
  5. Hey all! I’ve wanted to start a personal story in GoH for a while now, and it finally is happening. I completed the second build of the start yesterday, and I hope there will follow a lot more
The story is about my sigfig and in the first episodes I’ll be telling the story from his youth till now, as he reigns over Kyrrath, The city of purple. Afterwards there will be new stories, but I don’t have any clear ideas for that yet(as I first need to complete these builds ) It has been almost 5 years now, since that day. that one day
Now it should be over, it’s time for justice! It’s time for revenge! Whispers Kiarr to himself. It all started peaceful. Kiarr and his twin brother Rignar grew up in a peaceful Mitgardian family. They were the only two children of their parents, and Kiarr was the oldest, as he was born a few minutes before his brother. But his parents favored his brother more than him, and that makes Kiarr angry. But as Kiarr was angry, it didn’t went that bad, as in their normal lives, there wasn’t a huge difference between Kiarr and Rignar. But that suddenly changed at their 10th birthday
It was a cold but beautiful day. And what makes it even more beautiful, was the 10th birthday of the twin brothers Kiarr and Rignar. And in their family, when you reach the age of 10, it’s a special celebration as from that moment you will be counted as a man, and get training in fighting/hunting and other important things man have to do. And to celebrate it, the oldest boy of a family will get a special ‘family’ axe. This weapon has an enormous value for the family members and it shows who will be the heritor of the family. That one day, everything started great. The whole family was ready for the celebration and was waiting for their uncle Wiglaf(sigfig of @[Claus von Nassau]) to bring the family axe, so the ceremony could start. And around 10 o’clock they heard the sound of a horse walking around the house. That has to be Wiglaf! And Kiarr, Rignar and their mum ran outside to welcome their uncle: Wiglaf has arrived and the ceremony could start. But then the moment came that completely changed the life of Kiarr(and his family as well
) as Wiglaf doesn’t give the Family-axe to Kiarr (as he was the oldest son) but he gives it to Rignar! And it wasn’t even a mistake, as his parents do notice it, but don’t stop Wiglaf from doing this! Instead of the family axe he deserved, now Kiarr gets a magic box. It’s also a nice present, but it just can’t be compared to a family axe(as that also means he won’t be the heritor of his family)
And from that day on, Kiarr is looking for justice! Or he will be the most important son, or no one will! It’s five years later, and it’s their birthday again. Kiarr has practiced with his magicbox every day for five years now. And now he knows he is strong enough to turn this day into a nightmare for his family! It’s 10 o’clock. Like five years ago. But today his family is inside the house and he is outside. Kiarr creates a small purple magic-ball, and let it grow bigger
And when it has enough power, Kiarr throws the ball to their house. The house shakes, and flames are everywhere in the house. Kiarr keeps looking at it until the flames are extinguished. Then he leaves a purple sign at the floor of the house and flees.. No one knows what has happened and what the purple sign means.. only Kiarr himself knows it, but he has fled to Nocturnus. But when Kyrrath rises, things will come clear for other people
But that does happen several years later after this day, and will come clear in future parts of the story of Kiarr
. So here you have it, my first part of the story of my sigfig, Lord Kiarr.. Hope you enjoy it! Here are some more photos of the builds: The backside of the house: (actually I built this one a year ago, and it’s also at the Mitgardian poster
.) The backside of the ruins: And an overview photo so you can compare the 2 builds: I hope you enjoy this build and story, and I hope to continue the stoy anytime soon... Jaap
  6. The Cuboid Castle that Samuel Marron has visited is probably worth a few additional pictures It was probably not my best idea to shoot a grey castle against a grey background... This is where Samuel Marron goes to seek for further support in the battle agains Ravaage. Inspired by La Sagrada Familia I had build two differently coloured glass windows. one blueish - one reddish C&C Welcome, pictures to be found on my flickr album.
  7. Previously: A: The Bull's Eye B: River encounter C: The Siege of Falconstone Now Davok has finished his whole story, the Mitgardian commanders that gathered in the armory on Glorfindel's command, also joined, together with the Falcon spy that handed Davok to the council. Sir Glorfindel spoke first. "So, this is how the king died, and you are a convict in this. but how is this so important for this moment, for you know as good as we do that we have to muster our forces as soon as we are allowed to." "Its that mage, milord. I didnt know his name at that time, but I DO know the name now. And it matches all together milord, the description, the timing, everything." "Could you please tell me the name, because we are quite in a hurry, im afraid!" "Raavage sir. The mage who killed the king, who hired us. It was lord Raavage." Now, every attendant started to talk at once. "SILENCE!" The voice of sir Glorfindel rose firmly above the others, without any need to shout. "Thank you milady", Glorfindel smiled, as he turned his head to the girl in the falcon tunic. "It seems you have delivered us a spire rebel!" Nemayra, the spy, made a little bow. "Alas I was not in time to get reinforcements, all I could do was warning our city..." "So, what to do with this man? How about we execute him and..." "SIR!", Davok tried to say another thing. "Milord this was not all! I could not prevent the death of the king, but I saw something, and gave my commanders orders to distract the view of the mages. During the aftermath of the battle, someone tried to escape from the city. It was a woman, her clothes told us she was with the king before. Milord, she.., she..." Davok had gotten their full attention now. "she carried a baby. She made it out, we covered her. The baby was carried away." Now Nemayra's eyes lit up. "She made it? But milord, that was the Queen's nurse, with the heir! I know where they were heading for!", and she whispered something to Glorfindel, a bit affraid of the other attendants. Immediatly Sir Glorfindel made up its mind. "Athron! you will lead the army. Layra, you and the Guard will go on a task force to Kaliphlin. We have a chance to unite. To unite all of Historica, once more. "Davok, you will join command of this taskforce to proof yourself. You might have done treacherous things, fact is, you successfully laid siege to one of the Plain's greatest cities. We need every good commander we can get. You can take a select few of your best men as well. Nemayra, you will lead their way." Both women now protested. Layra: "You want me to share command with this suspect of High Treason? Milord!" From the side of Nemayra, there were some words about having an enemy amidst them, as well. But Glorfindel gave one last command. "Mitthral! Send word to the Dragon Masters in Avalonia. The heir has been found!" l to r: Davok (my sigfig), Sir Glorfindel (SoccerKid), Colonel Athron, General Layra, Captain Mitthral, a Mitgardian infantrist in standard outfit, and Falcon-scout Nemayra I got myself some green/yellow minifig arms and oh I love them! :)
  8. "So", said Captain Mitgardia, "let's hear your story." Samuel Marron put down his glass of beer and slowly began to tell his tale - how he met the new King. It was in the dark days before our victory over the Spire. I had orders to deliver a letter to the Desert King. One night I was ambushed... Skeleton warriors had killed my horse and as I was preparing to fight I had almost overlooked the second attacker. Moving towards Kaliphlin I arrived at a Cuboid Castle. ... and so our plan began to take shape. I was sent to meet the Desert King... ... who was supervising the construction of our key weapon, designed by Abdul Trojan: a giant wooden camel with space inside for a small army: "And that is where you met the New King?" Captain Mitgardia interrupted. "No, that was later. After the battle." "The Battle of Two-Finger-Mountain?" "Yes mate." The battle was intense and terrible. We were facing the Spire's elite troops and things did not look good. Although we were fighting as one - the finest warriors of Historica united - we were outnumbered and about to lose. So we had to retreat. Raavage himself, surrounded by his elite warriors approached our wooden camel and claimed the victory for himself. With the guild's forces dispelled he gave a speech to his victorious troops about how cowardly we were and that he was about to ruin our plan. Because he thought that he knew everything about Trojan's camel. He expected it to be filled with skilled warriors that were destined to kill Raavage. So his best warriors closed in on the camel. But there was one thing Raavage was not able to. He could not pay attention to details. Well, it is usually difficult in the heat of battle to point out fine details like "Oh, look, that Orc has got a nice helmet" -"The one with the bronze applications?" - "Yes, quite nice, isn't it". That usually does not happen. And Raavage had missed a detail. .. a burning fuse hanging from the camel's mouth. The explosion of the Barqan Fire exterminated Raavage and the core of his army. I watched the explosion from a safe distance - it was catastrophic for the Spire. Our plan and the faked fallback had worked well. Our troops engaged again and we pursued the remainders of Raavage's army until there was no-one left alive. It was then, after our victory, when I met the New King. He came towards me, accompanied by his guards... ... and I bowed and bent my knee. And he thanked me. I felt so honoured. "A toast to the New King", Captain Mitgardia shouted! "All hail to King Emmet I." both cried, raising their glasses. But there was something, Samuel Marron had not been able to tell his friend. It was about the private conversation he had had with the King after the battle. "Samuel", the King said, "you have proven your loyalty to me. And your courage. I will tell you a secret. You will not forget it but find yourself unable to talk about it. I am a chosen one. I am in the possession of powers that allow me to excite loyalty in others so they will follow me. I cannot make them stronger or braver, but they will follow me. Like you do. When I started on this journey I went to the Desert King, asking for an audience. I made him one of my first followers. With his army on my side it was easier to put up a plan against Raavage and his troops. You have helped me to get the support of Mitgardia and Avalonia. I am very thankful for that and this is why I am telling you my secret. Now you will keep it to yourself." Samuel drank a sip from his beer and mused. What will the future be like, now that Historica is united under King Emmet I? Will he be a kind ruler given that his subjects will be of utter loyalty to him? Will he have enemies? Was Raavage really killed in the explosion? So, this is my "big entry" for Category C with lots of scenes, pictures, action, etc. It took quite a while in preparation. I am happy that I was able to include the Cat A + B MOCs into the story. I hope you like it!
  9. First of all: im pretty angry cause I just wrote this entire story, posted it and somehow the topic wasnt created . Please look at my flickr for more pics, couldnt include them all without having a huge post ^^ Davok: "Finally we saw the walls of Falconstone loom on the horizon. We had gotten two more compagnons, two magicians. I didnt trust them, not for even the slightest bit. One of them was an Algus, so then already you should think whats wrong. The second was some wolf-like creature, or maybe raven-like, but unlike something I have ever seen before. Everything black, sharp teeth, yellow eyes. Not the sort of stuff you wanna deal with. He was identified as our questgiver, and had some name I forgot. Its some synonym of Havoc, I dunno exactly." "As soon as we arrived, we went to set up our camp, and we started tunneling as soon as possible, out of sight from the wall, for the vision was blocked by our palissade. The black magician had decreed that we would tunnel to some secret room beneath the main tower, for our target would be there. He would take care of the target after we tunneled, and he and his fellow mage would help our main force to fake the siege and repel sorties." "Well, those sorties came sooner than expected. From the west Falco's ever-annoying cavalry came charging in, while from the east the Falcon Infantry was approaching. We struggled quite a lot while getting shot upon by fire arrows and bolts. Those arrows set one of our shields aflame, i wish we had made more of them to protect our archers... Luckily my men were capable and we could quite repel the attack, but everywhere were signs of dead bulls and...." "Come to your point, please", responded the Mitgardian commander "Well, this mage blew apart Falco 'n his men, I swear. But then we heard news from Tauro, who was dealing with the infantry. Some of the men were wearing King's crest on their armor. It appeared that they were King's guard. So, as one and one is two right, the King was here, and he was our target then, but we didnt know he was here. So we didnt know, you got me?" "We heard word of our tunnelers that the mage should get ready to enter the room. From then, it was only shouting, a flash of light, and then our man came back and said everything was collapsing right there. The king was dead, the mage disappeared, and we saw almost no one get out of the mess. So we went home, as soon as we could, with whatever forces we had left.
  10. On a desolate snowy landscape an elf scout clad in bright mail is doing a patrol with his loyal husky companion. A closer look shows that this is a snow elf by his orange hair which is different than wood elves (whose hair is normally a brownish color), silver armor and irregular weaponry. Snow elves are the most the "Viking" like of the elves located on the aisle of Solitude. They don't wear the silly horned helmets or use any axes (all elves dislike axes), but they have been known to slip into a berserker rage and they love the thrill of battle. The snow elves also love sailing and are amazing ship makers. These snow elves have a governmental structure where the Council of Jarls (clan leaders) elect the Csarjarl who is the overall leader of the snow elf race. The Jarls also serve as war leaders. The snow elves worship the Nordic gods. There is no set uniform for the snow elf warriors and most warriors supply their own weapons and armor. That particular snow elf you're seeing is Feanor. Unlike most snow else he uses more reason and is less hot-headed. Feanor is a scout for Jarl Enradae and is doing a routine patrol. As usual his dog didn't say anything. Suddenly Feanor stopped, ears pricked and sword drawn. A low hissing sound is heard through the silent mountainside. Feanor strains his eyes and sees a red glow coming from a cave in the distance. He goes to investigate. (Inside the cave) An imposing dark figure identifiable as Lord Ravage is flanked by two of his same race as bodyguards facing a tall robed figure with a staff. The robed figure is flanked by one of his own race and two heavily armored serpentine-like creatures one of whom looks familiar. Lord Ravage (angrily) "Why did you bring me here wretch?" The robed figure (calmly) "To show you something." Lord Ravage advances threateningly. Lord Ravage (angrily) "Don't want my time!" The robed figure (still calmly) "Nice to meet you Lord Ravage, my people simply call me 'The Sorcerer', but you can call me Fred." Lord Ravage shakes with anger while Feanor watches with interest and increasing alarm. 'Fred' (with amusement) "So Ravage, do you want me to show you an unstoppable army to take over Historica with or would you rather attack me?" That catches Ravage's attention. Ravage almost attacks Fred but decides not to and manages to put his rage in check. Lord Ravage (with an eerie air of calm) "Very well then 'Fred' show me this 'army'." Fred gestures to the back of the cave where a multitude of chariots and a whole lot of snakes are located. Some of the snakes are opening eggs where their kindred are being stored. One of the snakes is forming and in the background there is a chariot. "This army" Feanor ran back to the Local Jarl's castle with urgent news of an invading army led by Fred. A bonus View of the chariot. The bad guys and their bodyguards. Thanks for looking. C and C welcome.

  12. The Desert King had come to inspect the progress of his latest war machine: The Trojan Camel (named after its inventor Abdul Trojan). Unfortunately this incredible piece of military hardware had not been 100% completed by the time of the inspection. Excellent craftsmen from Mitgardia and Kaliphlin were working together to complete the Camel. An aerial view of the construction site: This is the Trojan Camel: And another view to show the landscape: C&C welcome!
  13. AoM, Town: House Phase I A traditional Northern home, found far north in the Wolf Clan lands, here in the ever growing village of Mid-River under leadership of Clan leader Finn. The children get used to the icy cold from a young age, until they are ready to become men and true clan members. While fairly uninspired for Cat B of Challenge V (but nearly a full story-board for Cat C ), I thought why not go back to building for AoM again, as there's still plenty to build, and also a good opportunity to start building for a new village/town. I'll give more information later on but I'm hoping to locate it at the base of the mountain in the North Wolf Clan territory, between the two rivers flowing from the mountain (hence the "imaginative" name, Mid-River ), with a traditional Northern, viking-esk, architecture style. - Thanks for looking
  14. The moonlit night was cold and icy. His horse had been shot underneath him and so he was carrying on through the snowy night. But wait: there was a shadow before him, surely one of his enemies. He readied his double-axe, preparing for battle. He did not see the other warrior, standing on higher ground... Some more shots to illustrate the scene: This picture gives a better view of the footsteps in the snow: C&C welcome! ...................................................................................................................................................................... It has occurred to me that I need to depict the late horse too. However, this seems to kill the mood of the scene...
  15. Somewhere in the Mitgardian mountains. Travelling alone can get lonely, but sometimes unwanted company can be worse... Messengers have been sent out all over Historica announcing the return of the heir, and an important meeting of free-Historica's leaders to plan the next move against Raavage and his advancing forces. But naturally The Spire could not sit back and let this happen, as many messengers as possible must be stopped. Walking across a rocky path through Mitgardian mountains, the lone messenger never expected to see much more than a bear or two. But arriving at a small bridge in the path, all of a sudden an icy wind starts to pick up, most peculiar, ice storms are usually reserved for the depths of winter, not the beginning of spring, the snow had even started to melt and the streams flow again... But it did not take long for the messenger to realize this was no ordinary snow storm as the frozen wind started to swirl around him, the beast he used to carry supplies quickly bucked, running off into the storm. He was alone, on the small wooden bridge, with the raging storm swirling around him, leaving a clearing in what seemed to be the eye of a tornado. Although this was only the beginning, when out of he storm came two men, charging at him. It began to make sense, the men were Spire soldiers, and for the storm? An unlikely alliance, it must have been conjured using magic to stop the messenger, the Algus had joined the Spire. With the surrounding storm he had nowhere to run, knowing the importance of the message he was carrying in his satchel, the only option was to fight. It was a valiant effort, but eventually he was outnumbered. Knowing he had lost, seconds before the final blow was dealt, he cast the leather satchel into the flowing stream below, down the waterfalls, in the hopes that someone, somewhere would find it... The surviving Spire men walked away from the scene, as the swirling storm died down, leaving behind them only bloodied bodies, and a lost message... So that was my first entry for Category A of Challenge V, this one for The Spire, stopping Historica from uniting against Raavage at all cost. This was fun to build, and I was happy yo use the Tauntaun in a Mitgardia build again -Thanks for looking!
  16. ( Part 1 (Spire) ) When the ice begins to melt, and the springs start to flow again, it's not uncommon to use these fresh sources as water supply. However packages floating down river are a bit more peculiar... A young boy sent out to collect water, nothing strange, until a leather satchel floats through the metal bars, getting stuck for a few seconds before washing up by his feet. At first curious, he then notices blood stains on the bag, and quickly runs off to alert a guard of his discovery, who spread the word to the town leader... (Guard) -Sir! A young boy found this satchel floating own the stream, we opened it to take a look and inside is a message, and an important one too... (Finn) -Well then, what does it say? -The message got a bit wet during its voyage, but we've managed to decipher it, it's concerning the heir sir! -The heir? The king has returned? Rightful ruler of all Historica, the only one who can unite the guilds! -Yes, well... debatable, but there's a meeting, in Cedrica, it calls to all leaders in all the guilds, to discuss the oncoming threat of Raavage and The Spire... Also something about another helm, but the ink smudged down there with the water... -Very well, prepare a small travelling party, I shall head to Cedrica. As for the message it must be spread across the land, send out multiple messengers, with guards, don't want the same to happen to them... We must also attempt to find the original messenger, send a group of men up stream, they might find something... -Very well sir. So this is part 2, for the resistance, I wanted to enter a build for each side and have them linked, not just two completely separate builds -Thanks for stopping by!

Original image: More photos: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The base of this build is 6 X 42 = 252, which comes up just less than 16 X 16 = 256. Hopefully this is acceptable for this challenge. The most difficult part of this was trying to get a clear picture of a scene at night. I tried different lighting (or lack thereof), and finally achieved an acceptable result. The image is meant to be dark, so for more images and a lighted image, check out the spoiler or my Flickr account. -Slegengr

    Intro: Northern Huntsman

Many creatures roam the North, most posing no threat unless you are unfortunate enough to wander into their territory. But sometimes these creatures roam too close to civilization, and when that happens, they become the unfortunate ones. Northern Huntsman usually hunt in small groups, protecting small remote villages from possible predators, but a mere dire-wolf can be dealt with by a lone Huntsman if needed to. And just the figs and wolf head: So first off apologies for not being particularly active in the last month or so, mostly life got in the way, but I'm trying to make more time for lego-related stuff, especially for Challenge V with hopefully a 2 part story build And also this is a build from 2 months ago, for CCCXIV, but for my Challenge V builds and story, my "new" sig-fig is going to be present so I thought it best to introduce him a bit first. But of course without giving any spoilers for my character story ( Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt.3 and Pt.4 ), which I'm hoping to continue some time soon. -Thanks for looking!
  19. After the recent events in Beggar's Inn, as many messengers as possible had been dispatched, to every corner of the guilds. One messenger, going near the Frozen Beyond to inform the small outposts there for the peril of the coalition of the Algus and the Spire, was not that smart. Not being a native Mitgardian, he grew very cold, and thus he made a fire, out in the open. From a nearby Algus outpost, a Can'gru Chariot was dispatched quickly. Those strong but quick beasts had been cultivated by the Algus long ago, and were used nowadays not only for meat, but also as mounts and beasts of burden. the Can'gru, even though they look so herbivorelikely cute, always hunger for fresh meat. The poor messenger is their incentive to bring their Algus masters to their superiors, to hand them the message. Algus interception by David de Rijke, on Flickr
  20. As the Black Spire gathers power, a new hope for Historica is discovered--the High King's heir! Riders were dispatched quickly and quietly from the Beggar's Inn to the four Guilds and then to all corners of free Historica to spread the word. Thorir carries this news through the snow-covered forests in the foothills of Mt. Mitgard towards the Bay of Storms. Woohoo! I built! This was a bit of a panic MOC thrown together this week. I had a wyvern going for this, but the darned thing was getting way to big to fit on 256 studs, so that'll get put in a freebuild or something at some point... Also, new camera! C&C always appreciated!
  21. Previously in the story: Bull's Eye (Prelude) This still takes place long before Raavage Davok: "We gathered our forces rather quick, and then marched for Falconstone. The supply train would arrive later, 'cause I wanted my vanguard to move freely.". "We were only halfway through the Frozen River fords, when some riders blocked our path." Unpleasant encounter (1) by David de Rijke, on Flickr "Three riders from unknown origin where standing in the river. One of them was their leader, obviously. He seemed to be some sort of wizard scum, given his hat and his staff from which icy sparks were coming. Never liked this kind.. The worst part, was their faces. They did not seem to have any..." "The wizard could speak, however. Immediatly when we saw these fellows, I raised my shield and took a defensive position. I saw my men do the same while my chieftains looked at me what to do. But the wizard told us about that messenger I spoke at the Bull's Eye. He said they were sent to help us. They lowered their weapons to prove it. I started to get an uneasy feeling about this whole mission. Who was our client, and why did he venture with wizards of this kind? Might he be some sort of wizard himself? And WHO is this stranger, if his value is so big these... powers... are sent in to deal with it?"

    Bull's Eye (Prelude)

Davok: "Long before the rise of Raavage, in the days after Revolword's defeat, a messenger arrived at the Bull's Eye, in these days not more than a mere outpost for our compagny" Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr "The messenger, no one remembers anything of what he looked like, demanded to speak with the present highest in rank, which happend to be the Bull's second in command, me. It appeared to be confidential, so we sat together in the higher room of the tower" Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr "To make a long story short: Some high guy wanted to hire us. The messenger seemed to say 'Victor' at a given point, but stopped abrupt and looked scared for a moment. Well, to the point. Our mission: Falconstone to the south gave hospitality to a stranger that was brought there under heavy escort. They seem to not know the danger of this man. Our client told us how this man has escaped the sack of the Dark Wizard's, and that he is a dangerous wizard himself. Those falcons wouldn't believe us, I can tell in advance. They never have been keen to see logic... We have to siege Falconstone, and kill this man. The reward? Bigger than you can ever dream off." Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr (Here we go... A long way to go, and the story is already paving its path in my mind. Where this will end, I don't know :D) (This is a quite old build, and I have great news: got a new camera and new adjustments to my room that will be used for my next build :D) (The guy with the kanjiclub torso is the younger version of my sigfig, Davok ^^) (oh my god... while trying to play with revolword's name, I discovered its origin ONLY NOW... quite a slow catch)
  23. Up in northern Mitgardia, close to the boarder with the Frozen Beyond, a stone keep perched atop the rocks. Home to the third Blood Lord, a dwarven master, and leader of the Northern Guardsmen. When the warning bell chimes, these men are the first to respond. So my final Gatehouse phase, and last build for the defence part. Also my largest GoH build so far! A young ice fisherman leaves for a day of fishing, as the dwarven Blood Lord overlooks. Also wanted a working drawbridge on this. Took a while to build this one, although I feel the photography kinda lets it down at the end - Thanks for looking!
  24. The Maestro

    Fimbůlvatr Keep

High up in the Mitgardian peaks a small village thrives on the freezing environment. To protect themselves from raiders they built a small castle to keep (pun intended but still not funny :P) watch. The castles position makes it a hard place to take and easy to defend. No siege could last in this frigid environment. This weather does not bother the inhabitants of the village as cold is all they will ever know. So life carried on in the isolated village of Fimbůlvatr, that is until the drow missionary came. Not soon after did the Nocturnus resistance have a new enemy to fear... CCC XIV - Ice castle (or a castle built in the snow) It's here at last, after a build time that took way to long and three photo shoots I am finally ready to post one of my best creations yet. The round tower was loads of fun to achieve and the rock work was incredibly difficult to get right. The landscape itself probably took up half the build time. The Tudor work was challenging but it came out alright imo. For some reason I have been putting off building this and I now have a large collection of spaceships in my room I didn't edit it because when I did it looked rather awkward so i thought it better to just leave it as it is. Also my first entry for the CCC with more on the way. I know this will be up against massive and amazing entries (cough cough SK) but I had the idea and knew I had to build it. Hope you enjoy :D Sorry for lack of commenting, its becoming a habit
  25. The bright winter sun rose - well, late enough, in all truth, but that didn't bother most of the hardy northerners of Historica. Least of all did it bother Sir Uridius Dratiphe, who leapt out of bed with a bound worthy of a the hardiest of his ancestors, and who proceeded to get rapidly dressed in his usual attire, and then glance out of his large window into the Keep's courtyard beneath. There was the squire, bending his bow to a truly impressive degree, aiming, apparently, at a squirrel perched in the tree which overhung one of the walls. Sir Uridius looked on bemusedly, as the fellow let loose - and transfixed the deer far below and to the left of his mark, which the cook had hung out to dry. Sir Uridius shook his head in deprecation. Time for some Mitgardian archery practice! The target: And a last overview: A quick little build for the AoM and CCC - although, after seeing LJ's epic entry, I may just have to build a Phase III build soon if I want to stand a chance! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!
