  1. I was looking through the bionicle review index and saw that several sets were not reviewed. I have an extensive collection of bionicle myself, so here's my best try at filling in some of the gaps. bionicle review: gadunka set name: gadunka set number: 8922 theme: bionicle piece count: 176 price: US $20 EUR £14.99 date released: 2007 I apologize for some of the blurry photos, I haven't mastered my camera skills yet. As far as his story goes, gadunka was originally a tiny sea creature, who was exposed to the mask of life, which transformed him into this giant monster. with his newfound strength, he went on a rampage attacking the toa. later on the mask reversed its effect and transformed him back. I don't have the box, so I'll go to the instructions. instructions: Here we see gadunka in an attack stance, standing over a pit of some kind. I liked the 2007 box design. it appears as if you were viewing it from some kind of scope or radar. and the underwater effect is represented well. the figure front: side: back: Gadunka is a very peculiar titan, he has an unusually wide and thick torso, and a huge gaping jaw, which makes for a very bulky look. His weapons include three claws on each hand, and a squid launcher. the color scheme is primarily dark blue, with silver and some lighter blue highlights. torso: It's an interesting build. using three inika torsos and a 2004 matoran torso. the lighter blue hordika limbs provide connection for gadunka's arms, his head connects the two ball joints up top. his legs connect to the four ball joints to the sides. two "squids" are included. although there are supposed to be an orangish-yellowish color, my cats chewed them up. so they have been replaced with blue ones. here he is next to toa nuparu for size reference. He's not much taller than the average bionicle, but he is much thicker and wider. arms: The arms have kalmah armor in silver, (which was new at the time) dark blue rahkshi legs, and three small blades. (I believe those were introduced in 2007 as well) the hands make use of these small ball joints. which provide a good range of motion the middle one however, does not move. squid launcher: the infamous squid launcher. these have a pretty bad reputation. I actually like this things. although the idea of using live squid for ammo seems kinda odd. One thing I don't understand is if gadunka is just some kind of creature, how did he obtain a squid launcher and figure out how to operate it? legs: Interesting parts on the legs include silver piraka feet, vahki legs, inika arm armor, and these support type things. Again we have a very bulky look portrayed. which works well for this figure. head: The head is huge! you could probably fit one of the old matoran in there! the blue skull piece is glow in the dark, and it uses silver ehlek spines for teeth, a dark red clawed piraka foot for a tongue, and neon green bohrok eyes. Here's gadunka and toa nuparu in battle. Overall, it's a good set with decent pose ability and some interesting parts. it's bulky and intimidating compared to other bionicles. for a price range of about $20, i would recommend it. thanks for reading.

  3. Just a quick question - is the diameter of the spherical core of the Shadow Leech part the same as the technic ball joint, i.e. 10.2 mm? Thanks!
  4. This being a board game, I wasn't sure where to put this. So mods feel free to move this if necessary. I found this game while looking at some old stuff, and my friend and i decided to play it for old times sake. bionicle: the quest game this being a board game, this review will be a little different from others, there's not really a piece count or set number, so instead, I'll go over how to play the game. six toa inika game pieces are included, allowing six players. the goal is to get to the finish space. each player begins with two "quest cards" which may help you by allowing you to move ahead a few extra spaces, or by sending other players back. if you land on a green space, you draw a card. if you land on a red space, you take the catapult and try to knock down the red piraka "hakann" card. if you hit him, you move ahead an extra space. if you land on a blank space, nothing happens. once someone reaches the "mask of life" finish space, that person wins the game. the box mine is very worn out, my friends used to play it all the time years ago. back the instructions the instructions don't really have pages, it's just one piece folded in half. but the are clear and easy to follow. the game contents the minifigures/game pieces the toa figures resemble the bionicle minifigures instead of the full size figures, but they are represented well. update. I've taken a picture of the game piece alongside one of the bionicle minifigures for comparison. To the left is a regular minifigure, in the center is the game piece included with the game, and to the right is a bionicle minifigure. the catapult: I find this piece odd because it looks like it belongs to a different game. other than that, it does work, it can launch very far. the piraka card: the card is rather easy to knock down, but this game is intended for 8-12 year olds, so i really cant complain. the board: the board is actually very neat, the game starts here, where the player race to the center to get a head start, when a player reaches the center space, the board unfolds. the player who reached the center space stays there, while the other players go to the start space, where they can choose to go the top or bottom path. the also board has land marks from the bionicle world. apologies for the blurry picture. verdict: It's playable game, though a little boring at times. but it is made for kids, so it's really not that bad. I'll give it a 7/10. more pictures can be seen on my flickr. thanks for reading!
  5. XONAR

    Hey everyone!

Hi everyone! I'm XONAR. You may know me from various other LEGO fan sites across the web, such as BZPower, the BioMedia Project, or SolisMagna.com. I'm a staff member at the BMP, and the founder of SM.com. People have been telling me to join Eurobricks for quite some time now, but this is actually my first visit here. It seems like a really great community, and I'm shocked by the awesome activity level! :D It's great to see such a thriving LEGO community.

    MOC: Sharp ED

This is Sharp ED. Overall I am very happy with how this guy turned out! The colour scheme was really fun to work with because of the limited part supply and because teal is my favourite lego colour. http://www.flickr.co...tos/gamma-raay/ Comments and criticism are always greatly appreciated!
  7. Hi! :) I was wondering if there will be someone interested in buying probably unique Lego Cargo Bionicle knapsack from 2001. As I have seen It's unavaliable on Ebay. It came out with the first wave of Toa. Maybe there will be someone who would like to buy such a one for his younger brother or other relative. It is supposed to be for children like 5-8 years old. It's quite collector item. After looking at exchange rate I would like to sell it for around 25$/20€. If there will be not a lot of willings I think I can lower the price. It's condition is satisfactory after all these 12 years. Its legs are only slightly sore. It was used only for 3 years and then It spent the rest of time in a wardrobe. From time to time I took it out to clean it. I would like to add it was bought for 100$. And if you know somebody interested in buying it you can recommend this offer. Now I will publish photos.

  12. 5.8 pounds of assorted Bionicle/KK II Large Figures pieces. I got these in a yard sale along with a lot of normal system parts and don't have a use for them. I'm not an expert on Bionicle by any means, but, judging from the parts, most of the stuff seems to be from around 2006-2007. The lot includes everything pictured: 25$ for the lot including shipping, or I'm willing to trade for castle themed CMFs, Hobbit and LOTR figs, useful pieces for castle stuff, or even just normal system bricks. I am willing to split up the lot, let me know what you're interested in. The price is negotiable, just send me a PM
  13. Haven't done a bionicle build in a while so I decided to change that. This was the result, a kind of androgynous mecha thing that I soon realized reminded me of phantoka pohatu. Anyway, I gave it the midak blaster as a rocket launcher and it seemed to fit and that was it. Don't really know what else to say about it, I'm just really satisfied with how it turned out. Comments and criticism very appreciated

    Optimus Prime

Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, because "Lego Action Figures" fits here quite well too. The main reason, why I've chosen "Lego Sci-Fi" is because the Universum of Transformers fits - in my opinion - much better here... and I like this subforum, don't know why :) I watched some TV shows about transformers and decided to make some of transformers I like - so I decided to start with Optimus Prime. But no, It's not the G1. That's some sort of mix: Prime from Transformers Prime + Animated Prime + WoC Prime + some details from Armada Prime + some my accents. I think that's ok, because Hasbro made many versions of Optimus too (20?). Autobots, transform and Roll out! BRICKSHELF DEVIANTART FLICKR version 1.0 (older) ROBOT-MODE Head was the hardest thing to do - in version 1.0 it was bigger and during Optimus transformation it had to be taken out. In this version, this problem doesn't exist. Front bumper transforms into some sort of machete. I think that the idea is ok, but execution could be better... And that's not Star Saber sword ... TRUCK-MODE ... and for ending: ~ QQS
  16. Logan McOwen

    MOC: HF Krika

So yeah, the aim of this was to use Krika's parts and concept to create a unique Hero Factory villain. This fella's supposed to be like a giant bug, whose body and limbs have been replaced by super-strong robotic parts by some evil corporation or something. Front Back Size comparison Under the Helmet Thoughts? Comments? Questions?

    Studs' Art Topic

Hi all! I'm trying to get back to the EuroBricks community, so here's a thread to post all of my Hero Factory and Bionicle artwork in. You might remember "Natalie" from a while back: http://ericgroff.dev...set=24#/d59fowm Here is more of her that I did today: http://ericgroff.dev...llery/#/d5irm5x I'll be doing a lot of sketches like the one above to improve my own style. Maybe a comic or two! C&C always appreciated :) UPDATES: Stormer: http://ericgroff.deviantart.com/#/d5ixybe
  18. So I won the Bionicle contest back in the Early 2000's with the grand prize being the 14K gold Kanohi mask. http://i.imgur.com/uBk85.jpg I was wondering what it is worth in terms of collectability / est value. I believe 5 were given out in the contest with another 25 given to staff of the Bionicle team. $800 in gold weight alone. Thanks :)
  19. I have a very large pile/box of Bionicle pieces. All the technic and other usefull things are filtered out, so it's "pure" Bionicle. Now; I'm in doubt; should I sell this as parts on Bricklink, or should I sell this on Marktplaats.nl (a Dutch version of ebay, works the same). The positive about Bricklink; I always wanted to know how it is to have a Bricklink store; this would be a good opportunity. I think get a bit more money than option 2 (if I sell everything, but that's not very likely to happen) The positive about selling all at once; Everything is gone I get my profit immediately Also, will this sell on Bricklink? Is there still an active Bionicle community? And what about the other bricklink stores, they have all Bionicle in big quantities, but my advantage is a big range of parts, instead of large quantities? So, what should I do? Any tips or advice?
