  1. Lol, my unpopular opinion, the bloated cow of LEGO investment, is an unsustainable, house of cards, ponzi scheme, that will inevitably come crashing down, leaving in it's wake a downward spiraling price war for semi-old sets. For this day I patiently wait, with my pocket full of cash.
  2. As person that doesn't really have a train setup but I do have a couple of trains, I really like this one, so far anyway. That side view makes it look much better than that front view. I like the colors, the long cars, with doors and as far as the nose goes, if I don't like it, I can easily change it. Also a bit surprised that with inflation jacking up prices worldwide, I am really surprised it isn't a little more expensive, they seem to have no problem inflating prices in other themes this year.
  3. So glad to see it being built in real bricks and I always enjoy a little history, cool idea.
  4. I do like the looks of those new gears, they appear to have much less backlash and likely less friction, they also look much more durable and should run more smoothly at speed, hopefully I can obtain some soon.
  5. Every time I see those at the bookstore, they usually have been stripped of all LEGO. Rotten thieves.
  6. It's coming along nicely, does the "chopstick" elevator work smoothly. I only ask because I built a similar mechanism before but I could never get it to work smoothly, it looked like a stop motion movie and was quite herky jerky when going up or down, too much binding, I believe. Anyway good luck.
  7. This is perfect, thank you very much for making it easily available, we could use more of such behavior.
  8. Kind of think the same, voted for the village, hope it happens.
  9. I never get bored sticking pins in liftarms and panels.
  10. Though I am disappointed it isn't orange, it will be an automatic purchase for me. On a side note does anyone know when EOL will be for the Porsche, I have neglected to get it yet and don't want to miss out, been waiting for a discount.
  11. Lol, as I said it failed miserably and was just an idea I had while throwing some rather expensive scrap wood into the dumpster at work. However I do see a small table like structure working just fine and would certainly use one, if it helped.
  12. Lol, great as that moc is, I think such an unwieldy behemoth, would be an easy pass for me. Hopefully the LEGO version won't require it's own storage shed.
  13. I tried a similar thing, some time ago, cut some semi-large wooden blocks to fit dimensionally with the brick and even drilled a few holes in them, to accommodate a Technic pin, so I could link them together. Sadly even though I am a skilled carpenter, the tolerances just weren't close enough for a sturdy enough base, so I scrapped the idea. However I may try it again, if I could just borrow a cabinet makers work shop.
  14. Probably not a lot of help but have you scanned the Technic sub-forum, I recall seeing a few kinetic mocs there. Even if the posted kinetic sculptures don't help, they may steer you in the right direction. Even if it doesn't help there are some really cool mechanisms in there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, good luck.
  15. Well there it is, pretty well sums it up, lol, the secret is out.
  16. Not that I am wowed by the little we have seen so far but for the first time I actually feel like buying and building one of these big cars, lol. No rhyme or reason either, I have always passed over picking up any of them before, just not interested.
  17. It's funny you mention this, as I was thinking to myself just the other day, looking at LEGO sets on the shelves. Sets I avoided just a year or two ago because they seemed too expensive, now appear to be a good value, when compared to upcoming sets, especially.
  18. Yeah, sorry about that, I should have worded it entirely different. To clarify, I think these three sets are a good start. Going forward, I expect part counts to go down and prices to go up. Hopefully this clears things up. In hindsight I should have never said a thing. Thank you for your patience. Also although it is highly unlikely, LEGO can and does occasionally increase official list price.
  19. Agreed but I believe it will happen, like I said I think those are good sets to start out but I expect prices to increase and part counts to be further reduced. Seems to be out of control inflation going on with LEGO sets recently, I can't be the only one that sees that.
  20. Nice, well thought out set list but I would likely significantly reduce the part count or increase the prices $20 to $30 each set.
  21. Well it would be a great deal and sell fast, although with a few hours of sorting you should be able to get more money. Tough choice I know, went through a similar experience myself. Anymore I hold onto all of my LEGO at all costs, lol. Best of luck, I know if I lived close by I would be tempted to purchase it all myself.
  22. You will likely make more money by sorting the pieces and selling them separately as complete sets. Otherwise as bulk LEGO it will bring a substantially smaller amount of money. Not knowing why you are selling them or the condition of the bricks, prevents me from offering any more than that.
