  1. Please don't tease me like this.
  2. Well knowing how reliable in store information is from temporary sales employees, that is what I thought. However I was told in store the reason Monkie Kid was being removed was to specifically make room for a new theme. This did come from an older guy, that actually seems to know what he is talking about half the time. Regardless it sounded pretty silly to me and I suppose it is more coincidence than anything else.
  3. Could this be part of the reason Monkie Kid will no longer be available in store?
  4. Man I sure hope so, I only just last month finally picked it up, first time I have seen it on the shelf too, since it first came out. I like the set well enough to get a second copy but it seems a bit difficult to keep in stock.
  5. Great what you have done here, my favorite is that is something I am totally unaware even existed, bonus points for that one, lol. Also that it is an alternate of an current set is great as most of my mocs are done like this, I have the most fun, limiting available parts for a moc. Thanks
  6. Always like Star Trek stuff, from where do the figures come from?
  7. Looks pretty good, nice and simple as well, not a bloated piece count either. The perfect amount to represent the subject material, without going overboard. Good job looks like it was a fun build for you. One thing I think could make it a little better visually, move the big tree to the left side and move the moon and Elliot to the right side but that is probably just personal tastes. I just think the focus of the build is ET and Elliot and moving them more towards the center looks better. This probably looks closer to the movie poster though, so that was probably your goal.
  8. You have chosen quite the formidable task, as white has been rather extensively used, far longer than I can remember. Occasionally I actually like the used/weathered look of some white pieces but yeah it can be amazing how fast it yellows, even when well cared for. Good luck and I look forward to seeing some of the actual results.
  9. I'll start by saying, I don't buy any of those sitcom sets, so obviously not the target audience but isn't saying once a couple get done there isn't any point making any others the same as saying once you build a couple of cars there is no point building other car sets. Since they are all basically the same, 4 wheels, a couple of doors and if your really lucky a motor. Anyway I am glad sets like the Office get produced, even if only a small minority like the set, even better, as I will pick such sets up at a huge discount at EOL, to feed my ever expanding parts bin, lol.
  10. At those prices, who could blame you, lol Not sure about other brands but would you consider painting them?
  11. That would indeed be a very useful part, one I would actually like to see produced.
  12. Doesn't it reverse when you slide the power switch the other way? I always hated it did that on the last motorized helicopter, because the winch changed direction too, I found it a bit confusing at times, lol. Hopefully this time the switch is blocked. Nevermind, I was a page behind.
  13. Usually, if you start the thread, you have some information, lol. Otherwise what's the point.
  14. Not sure but it could be a two speed winch, as they have done several of those recently.
  15. Lol, I knew there was a reason, I have no use for Minifigures.
  16. Lol, I get it, shelf space is at a premium in my hovel as well. It requires actually tearing down some sets occasionally, my least favorite thing about LEGO. I am trying to incorporate the last two batcaves without much success but I am always tinkering with it, one of these days, hopefully it will be worthy.
  17. Indeed, I will seriously consider buying the instructions, very reasonable price.
  18. I guess we just look at things differently, I don't support any theme and could care less how many pages of mostly worthless drivel are written either, nor would I care if there was a year long break, or more of any theme. There is so much other stuff, I feel no need to focus on just one theme either, so there is always something for me. Might not be popular opinion but I'm okay with that. I do have a lot of DC sets and I am working on a Batcave now, plenty of source material too, so I patiently wait to see what TLG comes up with. I am not about to actively campaign for more sets and variety, or for them to drop the theme entirely but if others feel like doing it, more power to them. ✌️
  19. Great idea, many times I do this but I build the second set, reverse floor plan or mirrored. Which in itself is quite fun, building sets reversed, that is.
  20. Great score there man, on a side note whenever I see a set priced so much higher than RRP, like $500 for 8479, I have to wonder has anybody ever actually purchased sets priced so high, or is it just someone hoping for a sucker.
  21. Keep in mind as well, that many people have the same sets. Pictures of MOCs or layouts are far more interesting than pictures of production sets.
  22. Certainly looks like a reject, I recently encountered some poorly molded tires, requiring replacement as well. Not sure how that could happen so perfectly though, looks like the mold pulled apart before the plastic could properly set.
  23. Actually some people have received new 2022 technic parts, 3x19 frames and blue gears, so maybe there is hope. Ordered and delivered 7 days ago.
  24. So just saying there will be more sets is defending the theme, okay I will accept that, I am DC Defender, lol.
