  1. Bah, tis merely a flesh wound, lol.
  2. Couldn't agree more and the gears are already turning, some great ideas to work with.
  3. Very cool, I wonder how well this could work with a larger, or smaller hull. I very much like that mechanism you created to replicate the real thing.
  4. Glad to hear, you have found a solution. Great job. Who knows, some time in the far off future I may build this thing, it is cool and I have looked at many of the build pictures. For now though I seem to constantly moc more with Technic, hmm.
  5. Fascinating, would be cool to here a little more. As it is the post comes off as an advertisement for someone's channel.
  6. At this point, it seems to be like beating a dead horse and if you choose to believe DC is dead that is fine with me. However I am confident in a couple of months, we will be talking about new sets, lol. Not sure who you are trying to convince.
  7. Just because they aren't mindlessly churning out Mechs, like some other themes, doesn't mean the theme is dead, lol. Patience my friend, there will be more.
  8. While I am sure stickers are an economic advantage, in terms of overall cost, it helps to keep in mind that many kids are absolutely gaga for stickers, so some stickers are made to accommodate them. Don't know who they are thinking of though, when a 300 piece car has 52 stickers. Just as I feared
  9. There is nothing I can say about this set, it is like the one set I have been waiting for my entire life, nothing can prevent me from getting this set, maybe two and I rarely ever buy large sets. It will likely also be the last LEGO set I ever buy again, as everything else would just be disappointing, lol. Seriously I am burying my head in the sand, until I get this set. Enjoy.
  10. Well I have to say that was totally unexpected and, WOW, love that castle.
  11. Damn, really stoked at the possibility of more mechs.
  12. Couldn't agree more. I am looking forward to getting the actual set at some point and you can be damn sure I will not only build but modify it as well. To me that is what LEGO is all about. It will be my first super car set so I am really looking forward to the experience.
  13. A friend of mine got the book number 1643 or so, lucky bastard, I actually held it in my hands and was able to closely examine it, love the tire marks running across the front and back. Do you think he opened it up and looked at the inside, hell no, I even offered him $100 just to see it. No way no how, he will never open it and will likely die having never seen or sold the damn thing. I can respect that though as he is a collector but certainly not my cup of tea. 🤔
  14. All other things aside and this is only my opinion, this thing is pretty ugly, those humps on the back are just too much. It almost looks like you just stuck all the electronics on the outside and just covered them with panels. I think it would look much better if you could tuck the electronics inside and maintain the look of the original. It should be doable and would definitely be worth the effort. Best of luck
  15. Thanks Kage for tackling this project, I have followed it since the beginning and you have done exceptionally well, while also maintaining your integrity. Although I will never build this beast I thoroughly enjoyed reading and seeing your progress. Not trying to be to sappy or cornball but the LEGO community could use more like you. I will say this too, I look forward to at least building part of the moc, to see if maybe I can find a different design for the wing joint. If I do I will be sure to post it, however I often plan stuff only to forget it later, lol, I think it may be an age thing. Anyway thanks again, you have taken this project much further than I ever imagined and all the people that helped was amazing.
  16. I like what you have done here, very cool. I especially like that you limited yourself to six wide, in my opinion it is much harder to get right, than 8-wide. I think my favorite is the '89, although they all look pretty good, I'm sure you already have ideas for improvements. Thanks for the pics and write-up.
  17. This recent wave is pretty solid, they may decide to just ride it for a couple of years, instead of releasing more sets for this wave. I do very much enjoy the dinos but I think the reason I like them is because they don't flood the market year after year, makes them feel a little more special. I know I didn't explain myself so well, basically I would be okay with no wave next year, without fear of the theme discontinuing. Still have a couple sets I still need from this year, just waiting on a good discount. Some of the sets, I wouldn't mind getting multiples of.
  18. So it sounds like the Minifigures are a deal breaker for these sets. As someone that comes from the time before Minifigures, I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of Minifigures making or breaking a set, unless of course it is solely a MF set. I do however fully support peoples right to like or dislike a set, regardless of the reason. I still like what I have seen and look forward to more, I only hope they are worth the cost as many sets are quickly becoming beyond my financial means.
  19. That is what I suggested as well, after all that's the way LEGO does it, only it would be tedious, long winded process at this stage. It does however in my opinion result in a much cleaner look and in my experience much sturdier. Of course the wings would be locked in position, so you want to be damn sure they are properly positioned to begin with. I can at this point see why you wouldn't want to do it this way but isn't such an ambitious project worth it. Cool project, looking forward to seeing it completed. I also think if you are selling instructions, you should make the buyer aware of this issue.
  20. Of course, thankfully and not that I have used it a lot but usually it takes me much longer, two weeks plus, that was my main point. Of course it is also possible it's a one off thing, lol.
  21. It's a zipper, finally a LEGO zipper, cool POC.
  22. Not sure what to think, the sets look like Speed Champions, moreso than licensed movie sets. I just hope this isn't a new way to yet again raise the prices on what used to be fun little inexpensive builds, which was one of the main draws for me to SC. I don't really care for the Charger, the blower is way oversized and looks comical in a cartoonish sort of way, not Speed Champions style at all. The DB5 looks pretty damn good but I do see room for improvement, mainly in the back. Apparently I missed the prices of these sets, do we know what they are?
  23. Don't have it "yet" and yes, of course it is way overpriced and the main reason I don't have it and likely never will. Having said that it doesn't seem as overpriced now as it did upon release, quite a few sets matching that situation now as well. It really is a bit unsettling to think what prices we will be willing to pay in the next year or two.
  24. I was even more surprised at how good the helicopter is, I was expecting a "City" like "cookie cutter" type build but I was pleasantly surprised.
  25. I know it isn't exactly the same thing but I had to order a replacement tire, for a recent set, it was badly deformed, in the molding process. From the time of my phone call until I received the tire, it only took 9 days, a record for me. So hopefully they are starting to get it all sorted out.
