Agreed on the CMF boxes not being as bad as originally thought. (I guess they learned from Vidiyo's boxes being destroyed by everyone and their brother...)

Which Forum - Find Tunnel/Mountain MOC Help
Murdoch17 replied to MsDClark's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I would search in Train Tech and maybe Town. I searched 'tunnel' and came up with this list in Train Tech. Hope this helps @MsDClark! -
See here on Wikipedia for more on Autoracks, and scroll down to the Vert-a-Pac / Stac-Pac section for more on them. Vert-A-Pac were in service 1970-1977, while Stac-Pac (for use with Buick, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac cars only) were used from 1971 to '76. Stac-Pac is the one you saw in the picture above with cars mounted normally.

Nah, that's the bicorne hat, available in magenta and purple. Speaking of which, I'm actually going to buy some orange epaulets, that magenta bicorne, a red pair of pants and a certain teal Ninjago torso for use as a psychedelic pirate captain. (Think like the Beatles outfits from the cover of the Sgt. Pepper album.)

I swear that that part was on PAB up until recently. Maybe it was part of that old-part batch, I don't know?
-
Nope, it was there for a while.... maybe a few months.
-
I was gonna order some black Armada helmets today off PAB, but unfortunately they were removed in the monthly rollover. The really sad bit is, they were much cheaper than Bricklink too! This just shows me to to buy first, think about it what I'm using it for later! Side note: Until the 10th of September, there are 2x VIP points on the HP Durmstrang ship (set 76440), for those interested. This means if you buy the two needed to make @Wurger49's amazing Rebrickable MOC, you'd get 3640 points instead of 1820 you'd regularly get by buying two sets. That's $25+ off another purchase in points! ...Just saying for those who want to know. Personally, I can't afford two sets, but I did get one.

NOTE: The steam loco itself began life as a 2-8-4 Berkshire type built by @Plastic_Goth and the instructions were purchased from Rebrickable as seen here. To make this steamer my own, I upped the wheel count of the original locomotive by another leading axle, making it into a 4-8-4 Northern-type from the original 2-8-4 Berkshire as built in the instructions. The piston / wheel assembly is entirely my own work, as is the completely new 7-wide tender and the train the loco pulls. The whole train, with the steam loco and five cars - a baggage car, three coaches, and a observation lounge. This engine originally pulled my MOW (Maintenance Of Way) train when it was built three years ago. Now, it's been upgraded to passenger train service. I also updated the front of this 4-8-4 steam loco model to have a smaller cowcatcher, as opposed to the original one-piece cowcatcher I originally had installed. The rear of the loco, which is lettered for my railroad, Brick Railway Systems. Inside the cab of the engine. The baggage car. All five cars use roller-skates for door handles. These three identical passenger cars are also in the train. The observation car on the tail end of the train uses four of the new 3x3 macaroni brick parts in trans-clear for the back window. These parts are actually the reason I didn't upload this a month or so ago when the rest of the train was finished - I had to wait for them to arrive from Pick-A-Brick. Thoughts? Comments are always welcome!

Well that's sad, and I'm sorry to hear that.

@BricksMcgee Just a thought - there really needs to be a 'railway-related structure' category. I have a bridge and switch tower that don't fit really any of the categories except 'purist'... and that doesn't feel like a good fit IMO. I also fairly sure other people have stations, sheds, switch towers, bridges and other structures they'd like to enter - but can't. Maybe next year, if possible?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I'm not saying they should do favors for bigots, not at all... also LEGO burnings are not a thing, but book burnings sadly are a thing, albeit a bit uncommon. (Some days I wonder if I'm living in 2024 America, or Germany right before the election of 1933, and it scares me. I'm also not going to explain further on that one!) We should probably stop this topic now, however. We've gotten into the weeds and it isn't even close to the original idea of the topic we are posting in. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
You can't tell a person's sexual orientation by just looking at them, so unless it's outright stated, how would you tell? Also, all the bigots of the world would probably sadly start banning / burning Lego sets (For example, it happens with some books and things here in the USA, sadly) or slandering that LEGO designer (or worse!), so it would be a bad idea to do this. -
@icm Don't worry, it'll buff right out. (They should have made it from LEGO to begin with anyway!)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Some of the techniques used in older buildings are no longer possible with revised parts or are downright illegal for designers to use as it stresses the elements. (Cafe Corner is an offender here) Some parts are no longer in production (Exo-Force hair / cabbages in Market Street comes to mind especially), the first few were also totally empty and fixing this would mean more money spent to make it fleshed out. Also, even though you have new collectors, after the backlash of when Winter Village Toy Shop being released, I think LEGO is a little wary of re-releases. -
Don't forget Addams Family was a TV show in the sixties, and a newspaper cartoon from 1938 until 1988 so it ticks a lot of nostalgia boxes if they do a house. The only issue i can see is the house exterior was represented by a painting of a house, at least in the show, so there isn't that much to go off of for a 3D model. (Not sure about if the '90s or modern animated films did something similar... I never really watched them that closely / all the way through.) If we do get the house, I personally want Gomez with a dynamite plunger and a destroyable model train layout.

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Don't forget the printed DeLorean Flux Capacitor panel misspelling "Shield" from way back when. (Was that really over a decade ago?!?) -
Congrats on making the front page - it's well deserved for such a fantastic MOC!
-
Glad to see you still working on this! Keep up the good work, it's fantastic so far!

@III you can use google reverse image search for Lego parts just so you're aware. Those Blacktron pieces (the triple yellow triangle printed parts) are worth some money, but I can't make out the rest.
