  1. Thanks for the suggestion @trucks3, but it works fine as is... LEGO is stronger than you would think!
  2. I think it goes as follows: mechs are piloted by humans, robots are autonomous. (I could be wrong though!)
  3. UPDATE: Finally, construction begins in the real world! Scene: You're building a model, happy as a clam. You're THIS close to finishing, when you realize there are a few parts (the 4x4 bricks in foreground) that are not what you ordered a almost a month ago. You're sure it wasn't like this when you checked the parts when they arrived from Bricklink. But by now, it's far too late to go back and tell the seller, even if you could figure out which one made the mistake. The only thing left to do is curse your luck and wait until you have enough parts on the your wanted list to make another order worthwhile. (which in this builder's case will be a while as I have too many orders out right now as it is) Don't you hate it when this happens? (After taking this photo, I found a short-term workaround by robbing from the bay window on the left temporarily. Later I found I was one short of a newer part that I have none extra of. I'm exactly three parts short of completing this MOC as of 2:30 pm and will be ordering the missing parts soon.) @Space Coyote (I'm tagging you since you commented on the build before.)
  4. Thank you @Ropefish. I've been carrying this MOC (and other designs) in my mind for so long that I thought it was high time to let them out into the real world for everyone to enjoy!
  5. You don't see Rock Raiders MOC's that often, and you did a fantastic job with these @TommyProductionsInc!
  6. Brickset has Bricks-N-Pieces online from 1974 to 2000. See here @Henry Bricklider. Is that what you're after?
  7. Honestly, there is no 'best scale' @trucks3. It's all subjective to the builders tastes and personal preferences. For example: I mostly build 6 wide, as I like matching the official LEGO City trains. I do build some 7 wide things for steam locos, but anything beyond that (8, 10, or bigger) I don't do.
  8. It looks good so far. You might want to post pictures elsewhere and link them into posts, as Eurobricks doesn't host photos.... the space you have for uploads is for your signature and your avatar. Bricksafe or Flickr are two photo sites I've used and recommend, although there are more out there. I also am not the best person to help with fine-tuning instructions... sorry @trucks3!
  9. @trucks3 Why have you made three topics about this exact same loco? Just so you know, you are really not supposed to do that, especially without any info, pictures, links, or really anything for us all to discuss. I'm not trying to step on @JopieK's toes, but please - take one topic (this one I'm posting this in, preferably) and post updates in it instead of creating new topics for the same MOC. Anything more is superfluous and unnecessary. I know you are rather new here, and there is a learning curve to using forums and the corresponding etiquette, so I understand if you didn't know. (we were all new to this site once, and have all made mistakes!) Again, just trying to help!
  10. Thanks for the kind words @Jack Sassy! I'll consider your suggestion. Not many of my buildings have restrooms, @Shiva. (I think the only one that has a toilet is the jail cell in my police station.) The reason is I try to keep my MOC's like LEGO City buildings (and most modulars) do.
  11. Classic Space and Blacktron 1 for me!
  12. This is the fifth version of my modification of set 7997 (Train Station). Here are my notes to recap my progress from stock set to version five: I got the original set 7997 (shown above) in 2007, along with a double rail crossover for my Birthday. I wanted to make it a full building but didn't have the parts. By 2008, I had discovered Bricklink, but the station was in pieces by then and was not re-created until early 2012. The station was a stock set, while I searched for ideas. Eventually, I came across a build by a fellow Eurobricks user named Lazarus that incorporated a modular basis, a full building (street & track-sides) & a appealing design. I saved a picture of it and made my own design based on his. I included really neat features, (such as the arched lattice windows made with a fence) but I went too far and made it impossible to transport to train shows and LUG meetings. The platforms were very flimsy, and during the move to a new house in 2013, it shattered into small chunks. So, I went back to the drawing board, scrapping everything but the building itself. The 2015 version of the model was eventually scrapped in 2020 after it was accidentally dropped and destroyed. However, now in 2024 I made a red version of that model, with a few new parts added on. It has one platform, plentiful outside seating and a removable roof with second floor office. There are many other changes from the set, but the heart and soul of that 2007 set is still there. The name of the station is Edgewood, and it is staffed by the two figures standing on the platform. Here is the street side of the station, with the brick-built LEGO railway logo plainly visible. I decided on the swapped color scheme because of the similar yellow-to-red color swap sets 4554 - Mero Station / 2150 - Train station from 1991 / 1996 respectively. Upstairs is the station master's office. (Don't ask me how he gets up here - I don't know!) Here we can see the interior of the station's main floor, with ticket machines and refreshment stand. Here you can see the modular breakdown of the model, which includes the following: -Station building (lower floor) -Station roof and Tower control room (upper floor) -Tower roof -left platform section -right platform section ...Thoughts?
  13. Don't you mean Darth Vader's disembodied head?
  14. Nice work @Stereo! I really like the way the stripes all lines up across the engine and cars - keep up the good work!
  15. Thanks @Feuer Zug! I 100% agree on the industrial layout comment.
  16. Thanks @Shiva! The issue is the white ones are not made any more, were only in a scant few sets, and are getting expensive. The gray 2x2 ones are available on PAB and are also expensive, plus they are probably going away when the Typewriter is discontinued later this year. Also, neither of these styles have numbers! These are what I really need, as I have like four left. But thank you for pointed them out @zephyr1934!
  17. So after looking at my 2-6-2 steam loco a bit harder late last month, I decided the tender for that loco was too small by two studs length-wise. Thus, in order to make it more proportionate in relation between engine and tender, I made a longer tender for that loco (which is already uploaded to EB in it's final form in this thread) and added the old tender to this brand-new 0-4-0 yard goat. This oil-fired switcher shares a piston design with my MOC of Lady from Thomas and the Magic Railroad. The rear of the loco. Credit where it's due, the cab design and some of the tender were inspired by @SavaTheAggie's 2-6-2 design from over a decade ago. Inside the 7 wide cab. This tiny loco might also be my last Brick Railway Systems engine as the letters / numbers on my engines are getting WAY too expensive, and my stash of them is practically empty. I'll still build other stuff, (probably freight cars, which I don't have a lot of) but I have too many locos as it is, so this might be the end of that. It's kinda funny though, as my locomotive collection started with a 0-4-0 twenty years ago, and it just might end with this same wheel arrangement! Thoughts?
  18. According to a leak about City sets in Jan. 2025 posted in this thread by user @LCP, we have a new spaceship coming! 60446: Modular Galactic Spaceship (No word on price or piece count yet.)
  19. You do realize Lego designers read these boards, and that if this actually happens you'll likely be besieged by angry mobs with pitchforks and torches where ever you go, right? You might want to start filling out your witness protection program paperwork now, actually... it will save time later, and you can never be too careful...
  20. Agreed! And I hope this give us a chance to have some more older-style cars - I loved the ones in the car transporter, even though the mismatched wheels on the lead sled really bothered me...
  21. You are correct - original-style helmets and air tanks do not exist in dark blue as of now. Who knows if this will change someday.
  22. you're very lucky, @jbalfour. I found the LDD file of everything. You'll have to convert them to a stud.io file, though. In the file you get: 4-4-0 "E.P. Ripley" (engine 2) from 1955 is pulling the post-1971 fictionalized Retlaw 1 passenger train 4-4-0 "C.K. Holliday" (engine 1) also from '55 is pulling my semi-fictionalized version of the Retlaw 2 freight train 2-4-4 "Fred Gurley" (engine 3) started service in 1958 and is pulling the Holiday Blue excursion train 2-4-0 "Ernest S. Marsh" (engine 4) began service in 1959 and has no train at this time. NOTE: All engines but the 2-4-4 have 9V motors in the tenders for propulsion. Red standard train wheels can be purchased from Bricktracks. You can download it at my Bricksafe page.
  23. Peppa Pig is whatever the DC equivalent of the Devil is. (Reasons: she's right up there next to Calliou in the 'bad children's TV influences' category due to Peppa bullying / fat shaming her dad, and general bad behavior.) On a side note: Bob the Builder should be the Absolute White Lantern. All his construction vehicles are Absolute lanterns of different colors, depending on their paint scheme - Scoop is Yellow Lantern, Muck a Red Lantern, etc. while Spud the scarecrow is Absolute Nekron / death.
  24. Per Brickset, LEGO has released a statement on the survey and paper instructions:
