  1. BIG UPDATE: Just ordered the final 420 parts (with another 112 bricks for my ramps' extensions, or about 532 total pieces) to raise the bridge about 7 bricks in height. This will allow for boats and / or trains to pass underneath more easily, with about fourteen bricks of clearance between the middle of the arch and the base. The mini-figure gives you a sense of scale to the size of one of the three sections. Here we see a comparison between the original bridge (in front) and the taller one with added base parts. (in back) I will post again when the bridge is completed, hopefully by the 9th of next month so I can show it off at the local LUG meeting along with this double deck bus I'm also building right now. See you then!
  2. Got these pictures from the Lego .com's 20th anniversary site last year., which sadly does not exist any more. I managed to get the Wild Western, Time Cruisers, Explorians, Pirates, Technic, Castle, 9v Train, Aqua Zone, and Free Style ones. Took me a while due to having to play a game to get all 9 one at a time, with several repeats! Links to the bigger pictures at my Flickr are in the links below. Red Alert! It's a Aquasharks' Spy Shark (6135)! Incoming Dark Forest Bandit Ambush (number 6024)! I honestly don't know what it is, but it seems like something from the Freestyle theme. Watch out for Volcano Island! (Pirates 6248) Explorien Starship (set number 6982) sets off toward the vast unknown! This model depicted here is Technic set 8628, 3-in-1 car. Time Cruisers, featuring Dr. Cyber and Timmy in the Hypno Cruiser / Navigator (6942 / 1853)! Classic 9v trains and town sets, too many to count! Sheriff's Lockup at Gold City Junction at high noon or else! (sets 6755 and 6765) These pictures are all from 1996, the year Lego .com opened for business, and are not mine at all... I just thought you guys might like it!
  3. The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy (CB&Q) Pioneer Zephyr was the first successful American stream-liner, and made a record-breaking speed run from Denver to Chicago on May 26th, 1934. It arrived 1 hour and 55 minutes ahead of schedule with a total run time of 13 hours and 5 minutes... Note, the run time of a regular steam train pulled across the same distance in about 25 hours at much slower speed than the 77 MPH average of the Zephyr on this non-stop run. (It even reached a top speed of 112 MPH at one point during the trip!) This event was even featured in a heavily fictionalized Hollywood block-buster movie, "The Silver Streak" (The original 1936 drama, not the 1970's comedy of the same name) which also featured many scenes of and on the train. This train even started it's own Zephyr-mania, with everything from Ford cars to sports-teams having "Zephyr" slapped on the name to capitalize on it's considerable fame. The Pioneer Zephyr consist was eventually donated to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Illinois on the 26th anniversary of the Denver-Chicago speed run. From 1960 until 1994 it was stored outside, but since then it is now indoors in the basement of the museum near the parking garage. As such, it will never turn a wheel again. (picture coming eventually) The rear car features a wraparound back window. (It isn't pretty, but it is the best I can do.) (picture coming eventually) The Lego model and the real train feature four joined cars, with the power car / RPO area up front, (RPO is short for Railway Post Office) baggage and coach in the next car, then another coach, and finally the observation lounge at the rear. The third car (the coach) was added in 1938, and even though it isn't original to the train and is not on display with the rest of the Pioneer Zephyr in Chicago, it carried the car for most of it's operational life, thus it was added onto my MOC. Comments, Questions & Complaints are always welcome! Thoughts? NOTE: Main post edited 12/8/23 - one real life photo added to this post, the other two didn't turn out... will retake them when time allows. Sorry!
  4. This Classic Space ship was built for my brothers' fleet by me. The windscreen is not available (yet), but it does come on a 2017 not-yet-released Star Wars set. I believe I am the first to use that cockpit for a CS build. This ship features six guns and five crew members, with seats for each inside the easily accessible interior. The front of the ship should feature one of this print. The model has two smaller boosters and one (quite large) engine made of 20 smaller ones. The front canopy and the middle roof lift away individually to reach into the crew areas. Each of the five crew members has a seat. Behind this leaded glass resides the nuclear fusion reactor, the heart of the ship. The five brave crew members, one of which should be wearing this uniform instead as the ship's commander. The LDD file is available here. As usual, comments, questions and complaints are always welcome! I don't know if this one will be built in real bricks, to tell you the truth, as my brother may or may not ever build it. (But if he doesn't I will someday!)
  5. This model was part of a recreation of the not-yet-released set 10259 (Winter Village Train Station) by user @JopieK (many thanks to him for the file!) over on this post seen here. I added some of my own touches, including a second level with spiral staircase and a change from yellow to blue for the color scheme. The rear of the bus features a slightly hidden spare tire behind the stairs. The model has a opening entry / exit door at the front of the bus and each level comes off individually. The staircase is attached at two points: a four-stud connection to the second level, and a single stud to the lower level. The staircase comes off easily when needed, but is sturdy enough not to fall off at the wrong time. As usual, Comments, Questions and Complaints are always welcome!
  6. This classic-styled UFO is just a fun little project I came up with while messing around with the new slopes that came out on the London Bus / VW Beetle. I have had it pointed out to me it looks somewhat similar to the car in some cartoon TV show I don't watch called 'Rick & Morty." I don't know for sure, but looking at pictures online, it seems like I could have been subliminally influenced by those video ads on Facebook I've scrolled past recently. The ship has two engines and an opening cockpit with seating for one figure at the controls. Meet Norma Alley, who goes about everyday the same way, for her whole life. Get up alone, got to work where no-one knows you, then she gets to a bar where her crush doesn't even know you exist, and finally go to bed in your tiny apartment with your cat that couldn't care less if you came home at all... only to start thew whole process over the next day. (Man, that was the most depressing and sad thing I've ever written, and was partially inspired by the Paul McCartney song "Another Day".) LDD file included here for the ship and it's pilot figure. Any thoughts, questions and complaints are welcome, though i don't know if I will build this one in real bricks. It is possible to do so, but as this is just a table-scrap, I probably will not built it.
  7. I was inspired to add a second level to the bus with the file @JopieK provided. I uploaded my MOD of the model to Flickr, and linked back to this page + mentioned you in the text. It just needs this piece to be added to the rear of the model for it to work out in real life... unfortunately it's not in LDD. Thanks for recreating this model, I was going to do so when the instructions became available. I will post real life pics when it's built, (if that's ok) or I can make a separate topic instead of posting here in yours. Any thoughts?
  8. This gunship is owned by Snake, former member of the Black Hole Gang. The ship is named the Atlantis II and is used by Snake as his personal transport in his new line of work. Snake became a member of the resistance after the demise of the Black Hole Gang and the destruction of his species home planet by the Space Police IV forces into a radioactive wasteland.\ In reality, the model the ship is a heavily modified Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship (set number 7930.) This ship features six guns, a ton of cargo space and rotating engine for flight or landing modes. The cockpit is also accessible via a roof hatch. The ship in flight mode, with the engine pods rotated 90 degrees. The rear of the ship, with the cargo area access hatch. The opening cockpit features a seat for the pilot figure. Two of this part go on either side of the cockpit where the 2 x 2 tiles in yellow are. The sides of the ship open up for easier access to the inside. The pilot of the ship, Snake. Not much is known about him, except he was a member of the Black Hole Gang and his home-world no longer is safe to travel to. The is available to download here. I'm thinking about buying this at the same time as my futuristic house I uploaded, as the same Brick Link seller has most of the parts I don't already have in real life. As usual Comments, Questions, & Complaints are always welcome!
  9. Added real life pictures of the car and a new building. The ldd file for everything (but the figure) has been updated as well. Enjoy!
  10. Model update: I need to build several base-plates full of trees to surround the Adventurers MOC Temple display I built a while back. This may take some time to do, as it will cost over $250 (US) to build all eight base-plates of 18 trees apiece, or 144 trees total... Oh, and I need it done by end of October / early November at the latest! (No pressure! )
  11. Main post UPDATED 8/23/17: added new pictures to the post and staircase to the model. LDD file also updated.
  12. Thank you! I did consider removing the front wings, but the lack of details up front was bothering me, so I added them back. Sorry, but it just looks better to me this way!
  13. Model and post completely reformatted, with new pictures and LDD files added!
  14. This model started out as Vader's castle, a upcoming 2019 Star Wars set (number 75251). But I'm going to retrofit it for my Space stuff, specifically, the home of my techno-mage, Analog and his fellow band of runaway rouges from the corrupt Space Police IV regime. My backstory for the building is as follows: The Black Castle and the planet it sits on were once the epicenter of a ancient mega-empire of aliens from an age long past, known as the First Ones. They were ended nearly three billion years ago in a cataclysmic event simply known as The Great Event. Their Empire was besieged by a entity from beyond time itself, possibly from another dimension altogether, which turned the entire city world the castle sits on into a volcanic wasteland, with the shining ivory tower turned black and scarred, it's water feature turned to lava, in a final battle to destroy the evil entity, in which the empire's defender's succeeded, but only just barely. The empire, which spanned the entire LEGO galaxy, fell completely apart without the capital planet. Local species rose up to take over their own planets in time, but by that point any traces of the old empire were only a widespread myth.... except for the legend of the Black Castle. You many know it as the legend of Atlantis, as that was the name of the home planet / city before it fell apart into the volcanic wasteland. (The eons of time and many translation errors may have gotten the name of the method of it's destruction wrong, but it still sank into a sea of liquid, right?) More recently, rouge Blacktron III scientists stumbled across the castle, and set up shop there, performing experiments using equipment from the castle's ancient, - yet still very highly advanced - medical bay on unlucky captives, creating techno-mages, changelings, and many more things that would make even Dr. Frankenstein weep. In a desperate move, these captives rose up from their shackles and destroyed the all the Blacktron that knew of the Castle, thus keeping it's location secret. This ramshackle group still keeps the castle for their own, with group leader Analog and his car Shatter-point running supplies, new recruits, and news back and forth across enemy lines to and from safe houses and the castle. This space base is not complete, as it is lacking set 75251, (Darth Vader's castle) which is supposed to go in the bottom left corner. But until that set is recreated in LEGO Digital Designer, this will have to do. The base model you see here is an amalgamation of several sets, including 75098 (Assault on Hoth) for the blast doors, 75203 (Hoth Medical Chamber) for the medical bay, 7879 (Hoth Echo Base) for the sensor array and gun rack, and 8089 (Hoth Wampa Cave) for the secret exit. Also, the control booth is a custom made design that was pulled from my imagination. As you may have guessed, this base was originally set on Hoth or a similar ice planet, and was mostly colored white instead of dark tan and dark gray volcanic one it sits on now. (This model has been seriously gone through to be 100% build-able in the chosen colors as shown.) This medical bay has three recharge ports for techno-mages to sleep / recharge and connect to the base computer at, if they wish. The healing tube is for those too seriously injured for the wearable healing suits, such as those missing entire limbs or over 60% 3rd degree fire burns. The mailbox is also in this section, though as this is a secret base, it is unused. The base's brain and nervous center is the control booth, which control everything in the base, from the blast doors to the hallway lights. The huge windows overlook the base's hanger, where the hover-car known as Shatter-point usually is parked. The sensor array is highly tuned to be nearly undetectable to enemies sweeping the star system looking for civilized worlds. It is also able alert the base to long range threats, so they can shut down and go silent, just in case something picks up the scouts interest and they land a probe team on the planets surface. (usually when such a thing happens, they officially "lose contact" with the orbiting ship due to "radio interference" of "volcanic clouds" and are never seen again. In reality, they are physically eliminated by ground forces after radio contact is lost due to the sensor array imitating the clouds. The orbiting ship then assumes the lava has swallowed the team up and moves on to another planet.) The hover car is a mashup of set 5973 (Hyperspeed Pursuit) and a fantastic MOD of set 70907 (Killer Croc Tail-Gator) by user @hachiroku24 as seen here. Fictional background info: This craft (named Shatter-point) was originally owned by the criminal aliens known as the Skull Twin, and was sold at auction to a man known as "The Collector", back before the dark times began. Eventually, the heavily remodeled hover sedan was given to The Collector's young techno-mage friend just before the Collector disappeared into the bowels of the capital city planet to escape the Space Police IV and it's corrupt ways. The techno-mage (known as "Analog" for his love of pre-computer revolution machinery, like record players and radio tubes), then discovered the truth about his friend The Collector. The Collector ran an underground railroad-like system of resistance groups to the SP IV regime and the OCTAN Super Secret Police program, which was headquartered in the volcanic remains of the long-lost city of Atlantis at the Black Castle and had subsequently given Analog the job of keeping the secret railroad running in his absence. Together with unlikely allies, menacing foes and possible double agents, Analog will work to restore freedom for his friends, expose great tyrannies in the OCTAN Corp and in his rag-tag group, and all the while running from the law for the reason of just existing! The car was synced up to Analog's tech implants and made to be an extension of his mind, up to the point of having it's own artificial intelligence by itself, calling itself "Shatter-point" after it's supreme hacking abilities and it's ability to fly better than even cyborg pilots, leading to shattering blockades(and pursuing ships) into a thousand pieces. The vehicle can seat one figure comfortably in the drivers seat. The vehicle also features clean nuclear energy provided by a Mister Fusion (patent-pending!) reactor run by scrap metal. The car's roof opens up to place a figure at the controls. (the canopy doesn't actually stay up like shown, but is being held up by my finger just out of frame.) As usual, Comments, Questions, and Complaints are always welcome! EDIT 1/31/18: added new car pictures, working on updating the building's screenshots. EDIT 2/7/18: I just finished revising the building to be like set 4996 but in red... real pictures of the building coming soon! EDIT 10/9/18: add castle and backstory to the main post. more pictures coming eventually (hopefully soon!) EDIT 10/10/18: added full base to first post
  15. Real world models and backstory added to the first post!
  16. Be my guest and build it! I won't be building this one myself, though parts of it have survived in other forms. I would be very happy to see it someone else make / take interest in one of my designs.
  17. NOTE: For those who don't know, I'm creating a little futuristic dystopia with my Space Police IV setup as seen in the Sci-Fi section of Eurobricks. Recently, I rediscovered my modified version of the 2014 SDCC "1966 Batmobile" model and decided that my futuristic SPIV dystopia needs a cosmic caped crusader hero. I then added hover pods to the car which feature this print on the bottom of the model. Batman is supposed to be this version, while Robin is here. The front of the Batmobile is something no criminal wants in there rear view mirror! Since this is the far-future, this Batmobile features a on-board Wi-Fi connection to the Bat-computer back home under stately Wayne Manor. The Dynamic Duo are supposed to wear re-breathers, as the car is not air-tight. They would not fit on the figs in LDD, but they do in real life, even with the cape and cowl on Batman. The LDD file is available here, if anyone wants to build this in real bricks as I will (eventually) be doing. Any comments, questions, and / or complaints are always welcome!
  18. For a couple minutes, I have had a unsafe website warning when trying to reach Eurobricks. It said something about your security certificate lapsing, but isn't showing up now. any idea what happened there?
  19. We're gonna need a bigger box.... (one more module to be built and the Space Police IV base should be done by next week or so!) LDD picture of the final model, as seen in the updated first post. NOTE: base-plates are wrong as the crater plate isn't in the program. Oh, and the digital sensor is WAY off from the real deal. Any thoughts on these last minute changes?
  20. @Heppeng Looks like something from the 1976 US bicentennial color schemes, great work! Also, @exstatik, here is my train shed as you requested:
  21. BUMP: I just added new pictures and updated ldd file. The rocket now has enlarged tail fins, different first-stage engines and a revised nose cone. Enjoy!
  22. Thanks! Here's a tiny update: The stairway (module) to heaven is now done!
  23. This push-along copy of the engine in set 7722 was my gateway into Lego trains around 2003 or so. I later added a My Own Train (set 3741) style tender, a baggage car from 7722, and four 7715 - style coaches. (The diesel loco was added from a digital creation by @Chromeknight way back in 2011, long after the rest of the set had been completed, and should be ignored for the purposes of this post.) ...as you can tell, I had a thing for black and red, as I have another later train in this color-scheme, plus a two track shed, and water + coaling towers.
  24. It has begun... The Space Police IV HQ rises! (as soon as the rest arrives) Until then, here is another model for the space police IV fleet: This model was originally set 70724 (NinjaCopter). I replaced all the blue with black and grays, added police lights and removed the firing large missiles (among other things) to make this into a ship that goes well with the Super Secret Police sets from the LEGO Movie line. The one-of-a-kind ship is the personal transport of Commissioner X of the Space Police IV. No one knows why he - or she - wears a re-breather mask, or even if it is actually needed or is just to protect the wearer's true identity. The two officers that wear the Bad Cop helmets are the personal bodyguards of Commissioner X. They go everywhere that the Commissioner goes, and even they don't know what's under the mask... or at least they aren't telling. The rear of the model and middle propeller flip sideways, but only in real life, not in LDD without causing a lot of trouble. I partially disassembled the model to do it here! Two bodyguards and Commissioner X are included in the LDD file along with the ship, which is available to download here. Any thoughts?
