    slight BUMP: This model has been heavily modified with a different color scheme to be less of a dark gray blob (unlike the original Minecraft set), with tan, gold and light gray being added into the model. Below is the new version, above is the old version. Quite a difference, don't you think? I also designed this with the idea it could be used with the CITY jungle sets in a more modern day take on the story used in the first post. When this model is built in real life, I will add a jungle cat (probablyy a panther) and a couple of new man-eating plants common in the 2017 Jungle sets. The new machete and spider parts will also be used, along with a few of the scientists... maybe even one of these guys as well!

    Thanks! I'm reworking on the ship's turrets as we speak, so it's definitely a possibility. I'm also working on the temple (seen in the other thread), adding more gold details and changing it from a mainly dark bluish gray mass to tan, gold, plus both light and dark bluish grays. I do love the dystopian diesel-punk name.... I may just use that in the future to describe this Adventurers sub-theme!

    The following models are inspired by these sets: 3829 - Fire Nation ship (battle cruiser), 7620 - Indiana Jones motorcycle chase (motorcycle and sidecar), 7622 - Race for the stolen treasure, (troop truck and commander's car) 7626 - Jungle Cutter (Jungle cutter) and 7683 - Fight on the Flying Wing (tanker truck). This Adventurers-style ship happens to be based off set 3829, Fire Nation Ship from a decade ago. (2006) The ship is 85 studs long, while being made to be 20 bricks in height and 16 studs in width. The ship is modular, with the roof and bridge removable from the war room and each other. The bow, or front, of the ship is tapered to a point much like on my 1920's Tramp Steamship. while the stern (or rear) is pretty flat. The name "Vladek" should go on the exposed studs back of the ship, as that's the vessel's name. The vessel features two funnels and room in the lower level for the war room, complete with a large map table. The upper floor features the wheel and a nautical telegraph. The ship has three turrets with three barrels each that can elevate up and down or rotate left to right. This diesel tanker is a almost a stock set 7638 (Fight on the Flying Wing) model, but with some minor front-end upgrades and better color choices. The vehicle can seat two figures inside under the removable roof. I bought the original set 7626 (Jungle cutter) in Summer 2008. I wanted to make it it in dark gray to match my two trucks but gave up after trying to order the parts from Lego. (I didn't know about Bricklink at that time) Well, now the shoe is on other other foot and here it is, in full grayish glory! The jungle cutter can seat one figure at the controls. The commander's car was inspired by a table-scrap jeep my brother gave to me. I turned the modern jeep into the car seen above with help from parts of set 7622, Race for the Stolen Treasure. This car can fit one figure in the drivers seat. The little motorcycle and sidecar seen here is inspired by set 7620, Indiana Jones Motorcycle chase. These troop trucks are made from 7622, Race for the Stolen Treasure. Since the fabric part is so VERY expensive, I found a solution in the Eurobricks Official sets LDD topic. I took the cover from the trucks built by user ADHO15 and redid some portions to be cheaper (I.E. thinner tires) and better coordinated color-wise. Each of the two vehicles can seat two figures inside under the removable roof sections. When Indiana Jones set 7683 (Fight on the Flying Wing) pictures was first leaked in dark grays, I was impressed... but then they went and changed it to dark green in the final, released version. Well, now I changed it back! I removed the unavailable parts, turned the regular green and dark green to light and Dark bluish gray. The cockpit is no longer hinged, making it much stronger, plus the rear guns no longer swivel, eliminating that weak point. The rear of the plane, with the two pusher prop blades and gun turret. This plane can seat two figures, with one in the pilots seat and one in the gun turret. This set is a modified version of set 7198 (Fighter plane Attack) from the Indiana Jones theme. I enclosed the cockpits and removed the wings-fall-off feature to make this into a regular fighter again. The rear of the plane, which can seat two mini-figures, as one pilot and one navigator. This set is a modified and militarized version of set 7628 (Peril in Peru) from the Indiana Jones theme. I took out the fancy yellow, dark blue, and white color scheme and gave the plane instead both dark and light bluish grays plus a black stripe with trans-black windows. The rear of the aircraft. The plane seats five figures, which you can place after the roof is removed. (the roof section is only held on by a half-dozen studs) The forces of Ogel will stop at nothing to get their prize, and with help from Lord Sam Sinister, they just might win! Here is all my Sinister forces of evil as they are right now. Nothing will stop them on their quest! (expect maybe Johnny Thunder and company) Here are the planes as they are in LDD.     This model was based on set 21132 from the Minecraft theme, which was expanded and modified to be quite a bit larger with surrounding rock features, dangerous rope bridge, a second room and cave for the man-tiger creature. The first half of the map (the one the pirate had) described in the text is this one here while the one half Johnny had is in this link. Early summer, 1926, somewhere in the jungles of a forgotten island off the coast of South America... This is it: the Temple of the Unknown Question. Inside this structure is the other-worldly Guardian which will grant you either fantastic riches, immortality, or infinite knowledge... your choice is one of those three. (If you answer it's question correctly of course!) To reach the secluded temple, Johnny Thunder had to follow a certain map: the only problem was a 17th century pirate had the other half of said map on his ship. To find the temple, he had to find pirate, who had already answered the question and become immortal. Upon finding him, the pirate gave the map (and some advice) to Johnny, who then had it stolen by Lord Sam Sinister. After following Sam to the hidden island and the temple therein, Johnny and company have to think fast to stop Sam from getting to the ancient guardian first! Just your average rickety / unstable rope bridge, placed right before the temple entrance. ...It even collapses on the pull of a Technic pin! Three switches are inside the first room. The two outer ones will unlock the the mechanism to reveal a treasure chest, while the middle one is a dummy lever. With the two outer levers flipped down, the chest is revealed. However, inside this chest is a Pandora's box of sorts: opening it will let out a bright light for 30 seconds or so, as it sucks those unfortunate enough to see the light into the infinitely larger space in the chest and then slams shut on itself. (kinda like the Ark of the Covenant from "Raiders of the Lost Ark") In universe, this box will be taken by Sam Sinister as he thinks it contains the treasure he seeks. Meanwhile the good guys notice the door to a second room and crawl through it as soon as the bad guys leave with the false treasure. This secret second room holds the treasure guardian statue, and a back exit from the temple via a damaged wall. Just be careful not to wake the mighty tiger-man on your way out! In-universe description: The real treasure is inside the second room: after seeing the notched arrows placed by the pirate many years ago on the first room's walls, Johnny finds the small secret door and enters this room to find the guardian and five jewels. (four on walls, one on the staff in guardian's hand) The statue awakens, and asks for a member of the party to come forward to receive the question. Heeding the pirate's advice, he sends Miss Pippin Reed to do the honors, as she alone can answer what no man can answer. (she is no man, after all) After relaying the answer via whisper, her mind is wiped of the question and answer, and is given the choice of immeasurable wealth, eternal life or infinite knowledge. She chooses not to choose, saying the gifts are too large for one person (or group of people) to share. Thus, the adventurers walk back outside and plant dynamite to blow the temple sky-high, thus destroying any chance of anyone, good or evil ever getting the question right again. The man-tiger guards his cave under the temple. Be careful Johnny and company, or you'll be a mid-afternoon snack for this hungry fellow! BUILDER'S NOTES: This is the original LDD build of the temple... quite a change to now! EDIT 8/3/17: Added more recent real life pictures and modified the text!

    If you are referring to my previous comment (the one above yours), please allow me to explain: I don't hate Minecraft, it just usually isn't on my radar of sets to buy. I quite like the ingenious use of basic parts, and the new village set was very neat. However, I hadn't found any sets to fit in with my LEGO layout until I saw pics of the Ocean Monument set as it works perfectly for my purposes with (hopefully) little change. i'm sorry if my post was slightly off topic, as I got a little too excited about the set and thought people would like to know this set can be used for non-minecraft builds / layouts, which in retrospect, is quite obvious as it is all LEGO bricks after all! So, in short: Sorry for bothering you with the post I made before.

    I may not care for Minecraft usually, but the ocean monument set looks perfect for my Adventurers models. I'm thinking of it being a temple set in a swamp, similar to being a up-scaled jungle temple set. I already have 36 trees ready to be built for my jungle cutter to cut down to plow a path to the temple. It may not be interesting in a Minecraft setting, but with a couple tweaks, it looks perfect as can be for my purposes... I just can't wait to see the inside!

    This model was originally a ALCO MRS-1 built by Anthony Sava, but has been so severely modified that it no longer looks like the prototype loco. So I went searching And found another ALCO locomotive, a RSD-12 that looks like my loco. Both my model and the prototype have the six wheels, and the same basic hood and cab design, plus the curved ends match the RSD-12 better than the sharp-ended MRS-1. ..and here is my Lego model of it, as Brick Railway Systems loco number 7924. I even thought about putting two of this part under the headlights at both ends, but I think the model looks better the way it is now. NOTE: The printed letter tiles with the railroad's initials "BRS" will go on the long hood. I misplaced the two letter "R" tiles, and need to order some more, but the rest of the letters are on my desk. (They are hard to keep from rotating without the middle letters to hold the others in place, so they are not on the model yet.) The center axles on these six-wheel bogies slide left and right to allow for tight turns on switches and flex-track. I took Anthony Sava's original design and beefed it up, making it a lot stronger and a little taller. Here is the picture (not mine) I found that matched my model. I also believe this is the last ALCO RSD-12 left. (I could be wrong, though.) The photo is originally from here. Here is the LDD file for the diesel loco as shown above.     This was originally my sig-fig, then a guy here on Eurobricks @Jebediahs made a thread about drawing sig-figs of other users. I was lucky enough to get one before he stopped posting them around late 2011-ish.

    I added some parts to set 5982 (Smash and Grab) and then decided on changing the color to dark gray to turn it back into a regular tow truck. I removed the flick-fire missiles, and played around with a couple of options for a driver figure, eventually settling on who you see here. "What happens when you vintage flying car runs out of plutonium, or you space limo engine gets too hot? How about if someone runs over the time on the parking meter and you need to park you hover bike? Never fear, the tow truck's here! Complete with sonic wrench and ultra-violet flashlight, this hauling machine will haul your (or someone else's!) problem away for a reasonable price. Yes sir! Just call Louis "Brains" McCoy to tow your problematic machine away... and remember, if in doubt on who to trust to tow your garage queen: Ask for the real McCoy!" The flick fire missiles used to come out of those orange globes on the front. I changed them into regular hazard lighting by securely attaching them to the frame. The ship can seat one figure in the cockpit. The rear of the ship features two engines and the crane arm. The driver of this tow truck is Louis "Brains" McCoy, brother to a famous doctor on a star-ship in another reality. A accident with a temperamental gravity-drive ship brought him to this reality and turned him into a living un-dead, though he retained all his knowledge and personality in the change. (Do NOT call him a zombie though, as it hurts his rather sensitive feelings.) The LDD file is available here if you want it. Comments, questions, suggestions, and complaints are always welcome!

    This ship was originally inspired by a single picture of set 76084 (The Ultimate Battle for Asgard) from the Marvel Superheroes theme. The ship was then heavily modified into it's current form, with a single tail fin and trans-red canopy. The front of the ship features a "three golden circles" symbol of the alien pilot's native culture on either side of the saucer ring. Their is room for a single pilot mini-figure at the controls behind the opening canopy. The rear of the ship features two rows of engines and a single tail fin. The alien life-form shown here has a name that is unpronounceable to most species, as she talks with his mind at a very fast pace, so everyone calls her "Hyper". This may also have something to do with her love of caffeinated drinks, as her body chemistry allows for him to drink coffee and soda at levels that would cause a human to go into diabetic shock or die. These sugary drinks only make her move faster and still keep a clear head with no addictive tendencies. (Some say one of this species drank so much caffeine his mind shifted into a higher plane of existence, and his body became pure energy.) Anyway, as you can guess, Soda and Coffee companies love his species, so most have become experimental taste testers or company representatives. Hyper makes her living as a chemist, working on new flavors of coffee and soda to sell to the drink companies. Here is the LDD link for figure and ship. Comments, questions and complaints welcome!

    Inspired by set 5984 (Lunar Limo) but with the firing missile and stickers removed. The gold and purple parts have also been removed for a subdued color scheme. This limo was originally Black Hole Gang leader Brick Daddy's limo, and as such was passed onto his second in command, Mister Gray upon his death. The limo's purple and gold were removed, and a subdued gray color scheme added instead. The limo remains Mister Gray's personal transportation now that he is retired, but this is a ruse to keep the Space Police off his tail. The real work that he does is helping rebel cells fight the Space Police IV forces, either by smuggling oppressed people around in his spacious limo, or using the secret panels to covertly transport gold or cash around to rebel hideouts or stops on the underground railroad to freedom in the galaxy's central core, where sensors can not penetrate and big ships cannot enter due to the increased gravity and many asteroid chunks. The limo's obvious weapons such as missile launcher were removed when Mister Grays went clean, but the secret is that he kept the EMP generator and code scrambler as a precaution. these would prove to be most helpful in his new role as founder of the resistance network and underground railroad to help oppressed aliens and techno-mages to freedom. The limo can seat one figure at the drivers seat and figure in the back. The trunk and roof open up via hinges. The rear of the ship. The trunk can also hold a figure to smuggle them out of harms way. After the death of the Brick Daddy, a criminal power vacuum caused war to erupt between Squidman and the mysterious Mister Gray, who was Brick Daddy's shady accountant and a corrupt lawyer. As Mister Gray slowly took over the Black Hole Gang from rival Squidman, he forced the Space Police III (who were at war with Blacktron 3 at the time) to regroup into the totalitarian Space Police IV by way of joining sides with Blacktron 3 forces. This proved critical to anti-alien leaning leaders of the Space Congress' plan of eradicating both the Blacktron scourge and Black Hole Gang. In the end, the Blacktron retreated to the edges of known space, and the Black Hole Gang was 100% destroyed save two major members: Squidman, who was no longer a Black Hole Gang member when the Gang declared war of the Space Police, and Mister Gray, who sold out the gang's location to save himself. He is sometimes now called Mister "Grave" instead, but never to his face, as he alone was responsible for the saturation bombing of the Gang's hideout. This bombing killed most members and blew up it's ammo dump, thus destroying any evidence of Gray's complicity in any past crimes. After this, he decided his clean slate was not worth the blood on his hands, and thus helped found the resistance network to fight the Space Police IV forces. His immense wealth helps out those in need, and he personally smuggles people around in his limo. Here is the LDD file for the ship and it's owner link.     This model was heavily inspired by A Plastic Infinity / Arcane Sweetie Belle's old (2012-ish) build, as seen here on Flickr. I took the basic design of the ship seen there and added newer parts and an updated color-scheme. This Unidentified Flying Object is meant to be the space ship of two of the Unikitty! CMF Alien Puppycorn figures' species. The ship without the figures. The trans yellow cones are simple forward-fixed laser weapons, but don't be deceived: they are only part of the defense grid on this ship! The rear of the ship features two engines, while the lime green 2 x 2 round tiles on the hinged tail are supposed to have this print here for a national symbol. The cockpit can seat two pilot figures and the roof is quite tall, so their unicorn horns can fit. The cockpit hinges to allow access to the inside to place the figures at the controls. The pilots of the ship, as best I could recreated in LDD. They are supposed to be two of these figures here. As usual, any comments, questions, suggestions and / or complaints are welcome. I plan on building the ship in real life after getting my final Classic Space models in order later this year / early 2019, but the alien figures are already on the way right now.

    Thanks to both of you, I'll investigate the slopes at a later date, but the parts are already on order and should be arriving soon, and I'm over my LEGO budget right now. Maybe sometime in the next few months I'll revisit it...

    I had a spare truss bridge model lying around and thought it could use a revamp. Then I thought of the turntable I had designed, and realized it could use a transfer table companion model. Thus, this transfer table was finished just today. The whole table moves on four wheels at the edges and three guide-ways in the center. The model sits on four vintage 32 x 32 stud base-plates arranged in a square. I'm currently thinking about slicing up what's left of a gray 48 x 48 into a strip for the leading tracks to rest on. The height from the track to the top of the truss-work is a hair shorter than 13 1/3 bricks tall, which is tall enough for most locomotives but not enough for cabooses, extra-tall double stacked container cars and double-decker lounge cars. The length of the table is four tracks long, which is plenty for any of my single-unit locomotives or official LEGO models. (Diesel cab and booster units will have to be split up to fit, however.) In progress shot of me loading a 4-8-2 steam locomotive onto the table. Lining up the tracks as perfect as can be is key to keeping the loco on the rails and steady! Moving any loco sideways is easy enough to do with one hand... lining it up and rolling the engine off, however, needs steady two hands and a good eye. A better pic of it lined up at the shed track after unloading the steamer. Please NOTE: There is a two stud gap (and a bit of incline) between table and lead-in track: It is NOT 100% flat!     Way back when (around 2010) I designed this ship as a standalone piece for my desk. I spent about $120 USD on Pick A Brick from the online LEGO shop & from 3 Bricklink sellers. (I later found I could have saved a bunch of money by going through Bricklink alone.) Since it's original construction around seven years ago, I have added another brick layer to the ship's base and 18 studs of length to for decks. The model is in micro scale, and sits about 114 stud long, which is very close to three feet long. Printed 1 x 1 tiles should spell out the name ACADIA on the left and right sides, and on the rear of the ship. (The tiles haven't been ordered yet, should be bought by the eighth of this month) The font of the ship. (also called the "bow".) The rear of the ship. (also called the "stern".) The raised portion of the deck is for the docking bridge when the ship is in port. The left hand (or port, and the right side would be the starboard side.) profile shot of the vessel alongside a yard stick. This ship is just a hair longer than three feet long, or 114 studs. This has officially become a Seriously Huge Investment In Parts, or SHIP! This is the red star line flag, and below is the fictional history and statistics: The RMS Acadia was designed in 1914, but World War One prevented it's construction by Steele & Sons Shipbuilders to start until 1919. The ship was modified from it's original design to burn oil, and was completed in February 1921. The ship could hold 3280 people total, with 1140 being Crew, with 270 being First class, 530 in Second class, and 1340 being the steerage, or Third class. The ship sailed it's maiden voyage in July 1921 from Southampton to New York City. The ship was English, and as such, was immune to American law of Prohibition. The ship took off-season sailings (informally known as Liquor Cruises) around the Atlantic, returning to the port of origin within a couple days. The ship managed to hold a steady service record, and remained relatively full-up until the Great Depression really took hold in 1931. The ship's owners, the Red Star Line, managed to stay financially afloat long enough to get the ship through the worst of the Depression, until the ship was requested by the English Navy as a troop ship in late 1939 for use in World War Two. The Acadia's fancy woodwork was put in storage and the ship was turned into a troop ship relatively quickly. The ship was strafed several times by enemy aircraft during the war, and narrowly missed being torpedoed in 1943, but it survived the war not too much worse for wear. When it was handed back over to Red Star Line, it was given a complete overhaul mechanically and electrically. The whole ship was rewired, and the oil burning engines converted to diesel. The Acadia's woodwork was painstakingly restored to it's original grandeur, and she was ready for for sailing by 1948, almost a year after being handed back to it's original owners. In the early '50's the ship began sailing luxury cruises to the Mediterranean from England and the United States, in addition to it's usual scheduled Atlantic crossings. The ship began showing it's age by the late 1960's, when it's original glass dome began to leak badly. A handful of cracks in the reinforced glass caused the ship to be dry-docked, but before it could be fixed the huge dome collapsed in on itself, causing the grand staircase to be heavily damaged. Luckily, the accident happened in the middle of the night, and no one was on board at the time to get hurt by all that broken glass. The ships' dome was replaced, but only because the ship's owners knew of it's heritage and couldn't bear to see the old girl scrapped. (Not to mention it would have cost more to scrap the ship than fix the dome) By 1975, she was last four-stack ship in existence, and the owners were planning the Acadia's 55th Birthday for the next year. The Acadia celebrated July 1st, 1976 as her fifty-fifth birthday, and as part of the celebrations she was given to a preservation group dedicated to keeping the ship sailing as an "ambassador of history", as a peek into the way things were and how the men and women visiting and working on the Acadia went about their lives through each period of this ships stoic history. Many former passengers and crew detailed their experiences on the ship in writing or on film for the beginning of what later became known as The Acadia Living History Museum. Today, the ship features a feature-length film that chronicles the story of the ship and it's many passengers and crew through out the ships commercial and wartime lives. The film is shown in the Second Class movie theater, built into the ship in 1947 after World War Two, flowing seamlessly into the 1920's flavor of the ship. The ship still sails, making stops in New York and London (substituted for Southampton) at least twice a year. Ship Name: RMS Acadia Ship Type: Atlantic Class Passenger Liner Owner: Red Star Line Ship Built: 1919 – 1921 Capacity: 2740 passengers, 1340 crew (3280 persons total) Lifeboats: 60 boats with 60 people per boat (3,600 people total capacity) Builder: Steele & Sons Shipbuilders Propulsion: 24 Boilers, 2 turbines, 4 steel propellers Top Speed: 28.5 Knots Fuel: Diesel (originally Oil) The LDD file for the updated digital version is here.
