  1. Here on Eurobricks we have decided to do our bit in helping people manage with the situation we all find ourselves in. During these interesting times the simple pleasures are a joy for people from day to day. Hobbies like model building, gardening and other creative persuits. Also, so many events have been cancelled or forced to adapt by moving online, including the world famous Chelsea Flower Show. So, we are proud to present a new Forum Wide contest: A chance for everyone to create something in any one of their favourite themes and to share it for us all to enjoy. Will you create a rock garden for a Jawa on Tatooine, perhaps a relaxing spot for a Pirate to rest between treasure hunts or maybe a lovely garden you would find around a corner in LEGO City? Get your creativity flowing and build a garden from your bricks to share here on Eurobricks. Of course, there are prizes to be won! Every qualifying participant will have the option to display this profile tag: A trio of special tags will be available to choose from for the three winners. 1st Place: 31105 Townhouse Toy Store, 40376 Botanical Accessories, 40375 Sports Accessories, 40312 Street Lamps and 40309 Food Accessories 2nd Place: 31093 Riverside Houseboat, 40376 Botanical Accessories, 40375 Sports Accessories, 40312 Street Lamps and 40309 Food Accessories 3rd Place: 31098 Outback Cabin, 40376 Botanical Accessories, 40375 Sports Accessories, 40312 Street Lamps and 40309 Food Accessories Winners will be decided by public vote after the contest closes. So get building and be ready to post your gardens in The Showground. Entries can be submitted and modified between Saturday 30th May to Midnight (GMT) Saturday 4th of July Rules: The whole build should be Fit on a 16x16 baseplate, reasonable overhang is allowed (Leaves/fronds/short branches) You can create any kind of space that would be a Garden for your chosen character or theme. Your entry should be posted as a thread in the appropriate Theme Forum with as many pictures and as much text as you wish. A single photo, the name of your garden and a link to the thread must be posted in The Showground for it to be counted as an entry into the contest. You are welcome to modify your MOC, update the thread and change any text until the contest closing date/time. This also includes your post in The Showground. Anything edited or modified after the closing date will be removed from the running. One entry per member and no recycling of old creations or MOCs already posted unless you make some significant changes. Only under extreme circumstances can you change theme once you have posted your garden and it will require a request to a moderator. Custom decals and non-LEGO string and cloth/canvas/paper are allowed. Third party commercial parts (e.g. Brickarms, Brickforge) and customised minifig parts are not allowed. No clone brands or digital entries. You are in the running for a selection of LEGO Sets after all. Any member can enter the contest, but only members registered before Today (30/5/2020) can vote. The Showground will go live tomorrow. If you have any more questions to ask, feel free to ask here. Happy Building!

    LEGO ReBrick Contests

I couldn't find a dedicated thread, so please feel free to move this comment to the appropriate thread if I have failed in my extensive search to find the correct thread to post this in. If there isn't one, may I suggest this as a general but official LEGO contests thread? Therefore, please feel free to add an appropriate pinned comment regarding this topic's remit... certainly something better worded anyway. To my issue/point/problem... I have been trying to upload an entry to one of LEGO ReBrick's contests all day. I've tried on my iPad and my old Kindle Fire. My four image files are easily below the largest file threshold, in fact, the combined size of my four images is below 2Mb. I'm adding only three tags as outlined and have tried with and without spaces after the commas. Each time I manage to press submit after the preview I get the error message that "oops!" I need to check my file sizes or my tags. Has anyone else experienced similar problems or have any advice? I've alerted the admin in a comment that will get moderated in 1-2 working days but I'm feeling a bit impatient and wondered if anyone else was experiencing difficulties and therefore confirming the problem being LEGO's website and not my hardware.
  3. What is the Summer Joust? The Summer Joust is a castle contest with 6 different categories that is open May 1st-June 30th 2017. The contest is hosted on Flickr in a dedicated contest group. This year there are prizes for 1st and 2nd in all categories (excepting the team category), as well as 3 individual awards.
  4. The Summer Joust is a castle contest with 6 different categories that is open May 1st-June 30th 2016. There is a large prize pool with prizes for each category plus some individual awards. Categories: Natural Beauty: Show us a beautiful landscape, whether that be a peaceful forest glade, thundering waterfall, or blistering desert. The emphasis is on nature, so man made buildings shouldn't be the focus. Ruins being overgrown, or such like, is permissible. Faction Action: Take an existing Lego castle theme/faction and tell your version of their story with the build. Something like the Dragon Knights catching a dragon, Forest-men robbing the rich,or Crown soldiers defending the royal castle. Any Castle faction is fair game, even Collectible Minifigure Series factions. Historian: Recreate a real historical event, or building from medieval times. Ideas include, battles, castles, manors, houses, treaties, and feasts. Reference what your build is based on. 476-1500 AD is the time-frame we're looking for. Guild Creation: Assemble a team of builders, and create your own faction and develop the buildings, landscape, and lifestyle of this group through multiple creations. Realistic, or fantasy factions are acceptable. Teams should consist of 2-4 members, and a maximum of 4 builds is allowed for the category. So if you have 4 team members, each person would create 1 build. If you only have two members, each can create 2 builds, and so on. Castle Interior(s): Show what goes on inside the castle with an interior scene. Anything from daily life to holiday celebrations, as long as it is inside the castle. Building an interior and exterior in the same build is permissible, but the focus should be on the interior. Vignette: Create any medieval scene you can imagine, only one catch, it has to fit on an 8x8 base. Minimum overhang allowed, for things like tree branches and fig accessories. Some of the prizes that are up for grabs: Check out the full rules and details in the dedicated flickr group, Then get to building some great Castle MOCs!
  5. It's that time of year again! The Holiday Season is fast approaching and we're already excited about the latest additions to the Winter Village from TLG: Santa's Workshop and the Winter Village Market. It's now becoming a tradition here in Town that we love to see people's own creations to add to the Winter Village, and this year is no different. Things have changed slightly, but the core of the contest is here - we'd love YOU to build us an addition the the World of Santa's North Pole Village or create buildings for other holiday characters. Does that sound limiting? Fear not! Even Santa's Village needs train stations and houses and bakeries and all the other things a non-Santa Christmas village would need so be as creative as you want. Frosty and Rudolph and other holiday characters could use their own houses and workplaces too, I think so there's a chance to be really clever if you want as well! So come on Eurobricks, what are you waiting for? Let's have some wintery fun, and show us what your Holiday Character Winter Village inspired creation is! The Rules Entries must be posted by midnight UTC, December 31st, 2014. One entry per member. Entries must be similar in size to an official release LEGO Winter Village set. Entries should be either Town-themed or Friends-themed and may include either (or both) Minifigs and Minidolls. Entries should be new (never posted anywhere previously) and be similar in style to the previous official TLG releases. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in their own entry topic in the Town forum. The title of the topic should begin with "Winter Village: " and then give the name of the entry. The entry post (first post in your entry topic) may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. Entries are to consist of no more than 5 posted pictures of 1024x768 pixels or smaller resolution but may also include a link to a folder of additional images of any size. Photos of your creation can be manipulated with Photoshop for levels, proportions and color correction but may not include graphic enhancements. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. The Prizes First Prize: EITHER 10245 Santa's Workshop OR 10235 Winter Village Market Second Prize: whichever set is not chosen for First Prize, of the two sets above. Third Prize: TBA For Inspiration and Reference Expand the Winter Village Contest IV: Winners | Entries and Voting | Rules and Discussion Expand the Winter Village Contest III: Winners | Entries and Voting | Rules and Discussion Expand the Winter Village Contest II: Winners | Entries and Voting | Rules and Discussion Expand the Winter Village Contest: Winners | Entries and Voting | Rules and Discussion Best of luck everyone, we're looking forward to seeing your entries!

    Where do prizes come from?

I'm going to be announcing a contest shortly after the first of the year, and as I sit here typing this, I have no prizes to give to whoever wins. So I asked myself, "Where do prizes come from?" I didn't have a satisfactory answer to give, and so I'm now asking you, the fine denizens of Eurobricks. Where DO prizes come from? I've never run a contest before, and I just don't know. Do the people running these various internet build competitions usually buy the prizes themselves? Does LEGO supply them sometimes? Is there a contest prize fairy that I'm supposed to sacrifice a goat to? I need some expert advice. Any and all help appreciated. Battle_Gorilla
  7. Hello everybody, it's that time of year again... time for the annual MakutaFest live event! For those that aren't aware, this will be the fifth year of MakutaFest! It's a live collaboration podcast between The TTV Podcast and the BS01 Wiki. At this event, we feature prize giveaways, interesting BIONICLE discussion (especially this year, for obvious reasons), trivia questions, and Q&A with the podcast hosts! You should definitely come check it out; I've got a feeling this year will be one of our best yet. MakutaFest 2014 will be held on July 20th (TOMORROW) at 2:30 P.M Pacific, 3:30 Mountain, 4:30 Central, 5:30 Eastern! Here's another link to where you will be able to watch it: MakutaFest Ustream Page Here's a link to a video with more information: -HOSTS- -TTV- Mesonak Varderan Eljay -BS01- Swert Cholie Tomana -PRIZES- Prizes will include six TNGMs, three Copper Hunas, one Turaga Vakama, and a brick-built replica of the Kanohi Vahi, built by Swert! These prizes can be won by answering BIONICLE-related trivia questions in the stream chat. -CALLING IN- In order to prevent the extremely dragged out Q&A segment from last year, we handled call-ins a bit different this year; fans were tasked with answering BS01 and TTV trivia questions a week in advance or so to determine who would qualify! As it stands, though, we still have several free spots, so watch and follow the instructions in the description if you'd like to participate! Please include your skype contact in your email! We hope a lot of people participate in this event! We feel that the BIONICLE community will soon see a great resurgence, and as always, MakutaFest, as well as TTV and BS01, will be here to provide you with entertaining times and a BIONICLE event that will surely be remembered. Thanks for your time, -Mesonak
  8. Voting for the final round of the Third Redcoats vs. Bluecoats Tournament of Retribution is now open. The top 3 vote getters will get a prize. You have (5) points to award, but you can't give all 5 points to 1 entry. So you'll have to give your vote to at least 2 entries. And you can't vote for yourself. Just name the participants and the number of votes you give. Further discussion can be held in the Rules Thread. (an incorrect vote doesn't count) Each entry's title is a link to the full comic, so please have a read and get ready to laugh! Voting for this round will conclude on March, 29th, so be sure to vote for those you want to be the winners! Also, don't vote just for the best quality images. Fun and humiliation are also very important! The winner gets to choose one of the 3 prizes, then the second place can choose one of the remaining two, an the third place gets the one that's left. 1. Blackar Redcoat Marioworld 2. Brig. Brick Story of Two Coats 3. Esurient Diary of a Wimpy Redcoat 4. Frank Brick Wright An Easter Tale 5. Grimmbeard And that Kids, is how we Beat those Redcoats 6. The Inventor An unexpected (Turn)coat? 7. MstrOfPppts Jackie the Legend 8. Purpearljellyblob Happily Ever After 9. Sebeus I Once and For All 10. Skalldyr Everyone in his own Way 11. Dr_Spock Bearer of Good News
  9. It's time to vote for the final round of the Third Tournament of Retribution in the Pirate MOCs Forum! 11 great comics have been made by the finalists, with a much higher photo-edit quality than this image: We'd especially like to have the opinion of those who weren't too closely involved in the whole tournament

    FAPC Voting Thread

FAPC VOTING AND RAFFLE THREAD That's right! Vote and be entered in raffle for prizes! Voting Rules: Only members who joined before the official start of the contest (1 Jan. 2013) OR entered in any of the contest may vote. Members who joined after that date are not eligible to vote. You may not vote for yourself. You will have five (5) points to allocate. These can be divided any way you like between 2-5 entries. You may give all three points to one entry, 2 to one entry and 1 to another, or 1 to five different entries etc. Votes must be in the proper format. This makes it easier for votes to be tallied. The format is the Entry Number followed by the MOC title, Entrant's Username, a dash and then the Number of Points allocated - in otherwords, just CUT AND PASTE! Here are a few examples: 123. Clever MOC title - Si-MOCs - 3 points 456. MOC Title too - Sinner - 2 Points OR 123. Clever MOC title - Si-MOCs - 2 points 456. MOC Title too - Sinner - 2 points 789. I scream Titles - I Scream Clone - 1 point You may, of course, follow up with why you voted for those particular entries. People like to be told why they are awesome. Once you have voted, please do not edit the post in which you did so. It may have already been tallied and it could be seen as trying to manipulate the vote. An entry should win based on it's own merits. This isn't a popularity contest. Attempts to campaign for votes either on this site or elsewhere will not be tolerated. You may put a small picture of your entry in your signature as a way of promoting but that's as far as you should go. After seven (7) days of voting, the votes will be tallied by staff and the results will be announced shortly after. Be patient. We're volunteers. Above all, play fair. Our tally-bots operate at 4 operations per minute, and are super smart - so don't try anything fishy. Staff reserves the right to disqualify entries if it discovers a form of cheating not covered in these rules. There's one more thing: By voting, you'll be registered in a raffle to win something cool! Trophies: Prizes: First Place: 70705 Bug Obliterator (Donated by TLG) + 1st choice of FAPC Trophy + Sci-FI Tag Second Place: 70704 Vermin Vaporizer + 2nd choice of FAPC Trophy + Sci-Fi Tag Third Place: 70702 Warp Stinger + Trophy + Sci-Fi Tag ???? ?? Staff entries: For obvious reasons Staff can't win prizes, but even still they couldn't help joining in the fun. And what do they win? MORE WORK! Micro Sci-Fi Contest

a Micro Sci-Fi Contest There are literally limitless Sci-Fi possibilities, and one of the hall marks of Sci-Fi are large grandiose SHIPs, bases and settings. While our imaginations are limitless, our LEGO collections are not. Sometimes we have to build small, or Micro. Your challenge, is to build a Micro Sci-Fi scene of your own imagination. You could build steampunk, or something out of HP Lovecraft, or massive Space relays and stations. Or even recreate your favorite Sci-Fi movie in Micro form! The Rules Entries must prominently feature an LEGO Sci-Fi setting. Builds must be 16x16 or smaller- no overhang. One entry per member. Entries should be new (never posted anywhere previously). Entries must be posted by midnight anytime on Earth, January 31st. Voting will last 7 days after close. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Still don't have an idea on what to build? Well take a spin on the Eurobricks Animal Planet Randomizerâ„¢: Watch it in action: And the Eurobricks Animal Planet Randomizerâ„¢ has decreed: Kitty Steam Punk!
