For those of you who don't know, the department store Sears (remember them?) used to sell homes through mail order catalogs as do-it-yourself kits from 1908 to 1942. Over the years, they had 370 styles available, and ~70,000 homes were built over that timeframe. They had optional extras for each style including electricity, indoor plumbing, central heating, and telephone hookup. You can read more and even flip through numerous catalogs here on Wikipedia. The house I've made is not based on any specific model or year, but it *looks* like a 1920s / 1930s kit house to me, so thus it became one. This house is a super heavily modified version of a Brick City Depot design, specifically this Winter Village house that I bought instructions for over a decade ago. I updated the design quite a bit, while leaving enough of the early-2010's charm of the original MOC. I also added a much-needed back half to the model with stairs to the upper level and a chimney. The building folds open dollhouse style. Inside the front we have the entryway / foyer, and living room, with bedroom upstairs. In the back we have the dining room and stairway, all with the proper furniture for each room. The modular footprint is removable from the building. I like the late-1930s car from 2015 San Diego Comic Con set 'Action Comics 1 - Superman', but don't particularly like the colors - or the insane price! So I used the instructions and built my own version in dark blue. The car has a number of changes from the set, but it still seats one figure at the wheel. The rear of the car. Hello everyone, today I`m going to reveal to all of you my Red coupe MOC that I placed on my avatar ;-) A long long story begins There is a long story of development of this car. It starts with my childhood dream and the First Lego technic PF car (see https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/188301-fitst-pf-technic-car-moc/&tab=comments#comment-3468455 ) (that I built in 2012). After I left my hobby for about 4-5 years. And then I returned with RC MOD of Chevrolet Corvette set (see https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/188300-chevrolet-corvette-42093-rc-mod/&tab=comments#comment-3468619 ). After that I tried to deal with a big scale (1:10) by building an RC MOC of Porsche 911 RSR (see https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/188322-porsche-911-rsr-rc-moc/&tab=comments#comment-3469094 ) - that was a big challenge for me and required a significant upgrade of my lego workshop... At the very end of my story with Porsche, I get some ideas for a new car... but to build a car from that ideas took me 2 more months. The cassis and first ideas of the body I was developing a new RC chassis for my Porsche 911, it is a long process, you know... Finally, the chassis has been developed. It was built out of ideas and I was very pleased with it! I needed to add several mounting points to it in order to swap the body. The chassis was waiting for me on the next desk where I used to play lego and I was doing my everyday job on computer. Then suddenly, I looked up onto a shelf and noticed, that fenders from Land Rover set 42110 has a nice shape as a front grill! I checked my idea, and it worked! At that moment I realized that the story of a new car begins!... To build the back lights of the new car I use the old Bionicle heads! And made first lines of the roof and A-pillars After that the process stopped... New fenders from Ferrari set Process stopped... I was struggling a low with making the wheel arched for front wheels... the bonnet I made required me to make a very sport-like very slime and curved wheel arches. At the same time they needed to be sturdy enough for outdoor driving and also provide some space for the suspension travel... After a month of unsuccessful attempts I was ready to give up! But likely for me, the new Lego set Ferrari 42125 has arrived! I waited for another month for a "good" price since it was totally overpriced form the very beginning. The Ferrari fenders bring the new power to me. Also they provided the color for the car. To finish the bodywork in red I bought two Ducati sets their parts help me a lot! On the photo you can see the gorgeous moment of attachment of the side-panels to the car. After I solved the problem with fenders, the car was assembled piece by piece in such a way, that all my ideas nearly "provide" the form of the car and the part use. As you can see, the first prototype of a bonnet was lifted up to be a roof ;-). Some underlying ideas for bodywork: - Short front and back bumpers (comparing to the Porsche set) - Front grill with a fender from the Land Rover set - Narrowing door panels The car has no interior and no doors, since I was building an RC car. I was saving the weight. Final car with batteries (Buwizz) has a total weight of 1,5 kg. Photos of a finished car Hope you like it! After finishing the first version, I made a significant update of it. Now it is equipped with 2 powerful Buwizz motors and powered by 2 Buwizz 3.0 bricks. The total weight is 1,63 kg and the mass of the car is moved closer to the rear wheels for a better grip. All electronics is located in the lowest 5 studs of a car so it is very stable and quite fast (about 12 km/h) it is really fun to play. But you heed a flat areas since the ground clearance is about 2 studs (all in all it is a sport car). The suspension is independent and very responsive. I have no video to share for now and the winter has already come, so I will wait until spring! Now im 100% involved in 4x4 technic RC off-roaders.... P.S. I will try to make a OPDF instruction for my MOC, but it will take a lot of times. And if you have any questions, no not hesitate to ask me - the car was not disassembled and it is waiting for the warn and sunny days on a shelf ;-) -
Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. I have recently re-visited a model which I started building years ago when I first dove in the world of lego technic. I have made some final adjustments and the model is now complete. It's my pleasure to share it here: 911S 2.4L from the 70's - 1800+ parts - 1:10 scale - air-cooled flat six - 4 speed manual gearbox (an adaptation of the gearbox found on @Charbel's Volcano supercar) - working steering wheel - independent rear suspension - macpherson strut front suspension (courtesy of Gergely's Technic Models on Youtube) - openable doors, bonnet, and engine cover What do you think? P.S.:This MOC shares ~70% of the parts with set 42096 - Porsche 911 RSR. And I have also make sure no blue pins are visible outside. If you are interested, instruction is available here And with the orange F150 fenders available, I'm thinking about building a Targa version too :) -
This is my first WIP post on EuroBricks where I will show my progress on my newest build, an EV3-powered 1:8 replica of Lexus' newest flagship coupe, the LC500. The car will most likely be a combination of both the standard and the V6 hybrid LC, but it will have a V8. The body will also be orange. Here's a photo I found of an LC that looks a lot like the one I am shooting for. Features I'm planning to add: Four or six-speed paddle-shift transmission Retractable spoiler Detailed interior Fake V8 engine (but I would like to achieve moving pistons) Full independent suspension All I built so far was the rear axle for the LC. It's exactly like the one in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS set but more reinforced. I also made the V8 engine using Lego Digital Designer. I plan to build the paddle-shifting mechanism used in Didumos' Ultimately Playable Porsche 911 GT3 RS (the one with the tilted wheel) and pair it up with a gearbox. I currently am having trouble whether to motorize his gearbox with the EV3 motors or to pick a different one with less gears and friction. I also am having a little bit of trouble finding the right front axle, though I like the one that Didumos put his Porsche because of the fact that is has two shocks for each wheel. However, I find it very difficult to fit the V8 engine in the middle since the axle is made for a rear-engine car. Here's a poorly drawn render I made of what I'm trying to achieve with the front axle. And here's the chassis in the real LC and the measurements for the LC Lego model. Overall, I'm excited about the build. I would welcome some helpful comments about the V8 engine, axles, and the gearbox I planned to use before I order pieces on BL. Once I start working on the body and aesthetics, I would appreciate some input with that as well. I can also give you the download for the .lxf file of the engine if you'd like to check it out. This is my custom design legocity red coupe car. The model has a classic look design with some dynamically skewed rear side higher than front.It's possible to seat 2 minifigures inside the car. Moc video and few more pics Thanks for watching!

Hey guys, I've built several Lego vehicles with MINDSTORMS® and decided to use my experiences with previous vehicles to build a real car. I was originally looking at building a Ford Escape, but the blueprint scaler measurements came out all wrong, so I turned to a Cadillac CTS-V. I'm a fan of the CTS-V, mostly because of the luxurious ride and smoking performance fused into one car. Here's a picture of the real-life vehicle: Please note beforehand that I am building a model based off the Cadillac CTS-V, but not necessarily an exact replica, partly due to less than a total of 2,000 pieces and partly because I don't have a lot of pieces of just one color I'll try to share the blueprint with measurements tomorrow, and because I am already working on a few builds at once, starting this work on spare parts will be a bit slow for a couple weeks. Update (22.02.2014.): New arrivals in my old-timer garage! Hey guys! Check out the all-new vehicles to be driven in the streets of Lego Town! This blue car is a real chauffeur-driven exclusive car, which is built to fit the age of the classic lego Town. The passenger (a CEO) is a bit angry because the streets are quite congested and he is late. So finally, he jumps out and takes the luggage out of the car by himself. This guy in green is a lucky owner of the black convertible, with which he gathers a lot of attraction. He does not have to stop by the lady in red (since this is just a one seater) so he just drivers by her. What a day:) Enjoy!
