[LEGO IDEAS] Motorized pirate ship: The "Rolling" Dutchman - New 1k+ Update!
Merlict replied to Stoertebricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
Kinda cool, but outrageously complex and expensive for Ideas imo. Honestly I'd scale it back to the rocking motion only.- 24 replies

Uhhh you ok there?

Hah, we're lucky to get an real train ever 4+ years, a whole musuem is never gonna happen! Would make a fantastic (but enormous) MOC.
-
Do those doors actually open? Can't see any hinges
-
I don't think that's quite fair. The scale of car / truck MOCs is determined by the 2 parts you cannot brick build, the windows and wheels. Right now a lot of fantastic Expert size mocs simply have to go without window glass because the few existing Lego windows are unrealistic. New parts can sometimes enhance creativity, not stifle it. Anyway I'm ranting lol. I'll probably buy this anyway if I see it on special.

Yikes, these are all pretty awful. Might be time to increase it to 15 or 20k.

Great review! Love the lemon yellow, love the retro manual and box, but as a whole the model is a bit lumpy I've said it before but I absolutely HATE the square windshield. It's well past time that Lego give us some new curved windscreens.. with the premium they charge for Expert cars they can certainly afford it.

Saw this in January, thought it was amazing. First time seeing Fabuland in person. Would have loved to chat with the creators but Brickvention was way too loud and busy sadly.

Wow these are absolutely fabulous for the era. Heck they're great for today. Where can I learn more about those leaks / prototypes?
-
I do like the essential road accesories.. a snake, a banana and a sandwhich!
-
Kinda cool. I know it would increase the parts count a lot but this really needs a baseplate, or at least more sand / water around where it touches the ground (or sea!)

Thanks for the laugh OP. Keep dreaming mate!

[MOC] construction vehicles (building with my sons lego.. Again..)
Merlict replied to SollX's topic in LEGO Town
That's cool, like a nice looking version of the late 90s <insert that tiresome argument> town -
Lovely How are the little bricks above the arches held please?
-
That's rad. How big is it? Looks like 1 baseplate wide, then 1.5 baseplates deep?

[REVIEW] 42111 Dom's Dodge Charger
Merlict replied to kaelthas's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just the wheels alone are a massive fail. They look NOTHING like actual production wheels, just the same old grey crud from the 90s. I'm surprised both Dodge and the F and F producers signed off on this ugly set!- 22 replies

Oh, guess I should read threads more than just looking at the pretty pictures haha -
[MOD] Koncept Mantis - Free instructions

Man this comparison is great. It's like you let the pieces available just flow, so you get a super smooth look without all the awful gaps and 'cheating' with flex pieces. Good stuff. -

Neat. What are the skylight window pieces in the observation car please?- 38 replies

Educate me, what are the strings for near the axles please?
-
Ugly and overpriced , still gets a 7.25 / 10 . Good not to bite the hand that feeds I suppose.
-
Yeah it really is unappealing haha. Needs something to tell a story at least. I mean gross / run down things can be fun. Kids would love a rubbish dump playset.
-
Hah, that Fiat mod is great. Needs a ladder or water cannon!
-
Very good. I think I'd prefer it if the left side looked like the right , more symmetrical. I actually like my Corner Garage too much to take her apart!

I thought that style was familiar, I have admired your Ferrari moc in the past. Looks great.
