  1. You can mount the bogies to the plate using 2x2 or 4x4 turntables.
  2. I haven't had to pay duties on any of the S@H orders I have placed recently. They were shipped from the USA. LEGO may have a broker to handle all that import stuff and the costs could be buried in their cost of doing business.
  3. Thanks for the tip. Reviewer's Academy standard is white background. I am finding it hard to get the background white white in PP without blowing out the highlights and white LEGO. I use a 3rd light to illuminate the background but it has the same power as the 2 main lights. Would putting diffusers in front of the 2 main light help reduce its output without having to buy new bulbs?
  4. If you have 9V DC wall adapters kicking around and are handy with a soldering iron and not concerned about warranty, it is possible to modify the AA battery box to run off wall power.
  5. Searching for Great Ball Contraption seems to yield more results. A GBC index would be nice to curate all the GBC MOCs people posted. I think much of the GBC traffic is instructions and Akiyuki copies related. I don't think there are enough original GBC MOCs on a monthly volume basis to really justify its own sub-forum. The General GBC topic pretty much covers everything else like events videos, balls, etc.
  6. Nice crane and intermodal facility. That's a great score on the Maersk trucks.
  7. Thanks all for the feedback and comments. I think we found the reasons why this ship had a for free sign. Aye, she did survive the MRCA and gained some booty to fix her up a bit: Pink Lady Ship by dr_spock_888, on Flickr She could be hired to help enforce an apple monopoly. We are independent contractors afterall. I used a small Technic flex axle to lower the gaff. They look like Oreo cookie with vanilla center.
  8. Making instructions can be a double edged sword. On one side you're helping the community. On the other it can make it easier for unscrupulous individuals and companies to steal and profit off your work.
  9. Welcome aboard. What type of railway do you plan to set up?
  10. It appears that you did select residence instead of factory. @Phred can update it in the spreadsheet if I am not mistaken. Brandon Stark Oleon http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/146572-ol-fb4-eltina-miscellaneous-factory/ Residence Small Eltina
  11. I think many EB users are lurkers. They prefer to look at stuff and not wish to comment. So if your view count for the post is going up, that means people are at least looking at it. Posting at the beginning of the weekend can help too. Some people may only have time to browse the forum on the weekends. That way your post is near the top. You can ask open ended questions in your presentation to encourage people to have a discussion with you if that is what you're after instead of the awesome, great, nice type of comments. I am fine with receiving nice, awesome, etc. and would not want to discourage that. My latest MOC received a "I am at a loss for words."
  12. You can post your problem in the Help topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/96103-help/&page=23 An admin can help you out. Some times email problems can be related to spam filters, etc.
  13. Thank you. The 4x4 plate hasn't come loose yet. More plates can be used to stiffen up the 16x6 plate. Although, it is fun watching it flex. I demo'ed to my LUG at a meeting. I think they'd prefer to go with a LEGO solution of 9V mini-motors or PF motors to operate the switches. Maybe I can use the servos to operate a PF switch to momentarily turn on/off the motor on the swtich tracks. Looking at my picture above: 1 - 16x6 plate 1 - 4x4 plate 4 - 4x2 plates 2 - 2x2 plates 1 - 3x2 plate 1 - 9L Technic liftarm 2 - Technic half pins 1 - 3D printed servo motor mount Most of the small plates are used to hold down the printed motor mount. The PLA plastic loses its clutch power over time. It might hold better if printed in ABS plastic.
  14. A successful MRCA run. Long John Bronze (4A) was captured by the Sea Rats. "We surrender. Your ship looks like a tasty chocolate cake with strawberry frosting. We can not resist." Long John Bronze Ship by dr_spock_888, on Flickr She appears to be crewed by tall Amazons with sharp bronzed blades? Maybe they are related to Amara. Captured license has been MOC'ed.
  15. Nice painting and expressions. Is the monkey mooning your painter?
  16. I don't think you have to build taller. Friends minidolls can stand up fine inside the usual passenger car height. They do need a bit more leg room between seats if you are going to sit them down and have space for the LEGO piece that holds their feet in place. They take up 4 studs length. Have fun. 17. It happens more in Technic since Technic is more complex. With more complexity, more things can go wrong. I think there is more behind the scene javascript code for advanced to the next page in the new forum software than the old version. It could be some timing thing between your browser and the server. It would be nice if there is an option to turn off the visual transition effects.
  18. The fire truck looks pretty good. I guess the 6x6 tow truck has room for MODing a beefier rotator crane. Although, the 6x6 tow truck I saw before in a video unstucking forestry equipment in the bogs didn't have a huge crane for lifting. It put pulleys around trees and pulled with its winches.
  19. Brickfilms can go in our Brick Flicks & Comics forum -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/120-brick-flicks-amp-comics/
  20. Welcome aboard, ostman. Trains are fun.
  21. Welcome to Eurobricks, ShishOK. Does the YouTube auto-English CC work well translating Russian?
  22. Welcome to aboard, Anastasiya.
  23. Lovely build. Miss seeing the green after the BNSF merger.
