  1. Still have these guys from the 1980's 7710 push train set. They seem to have stayed with me every time I moved.
  2. That sounds like some sort of multicast protocol. Wonder if it can get into congestion issues after a certain number of devices.
  3. I bike everywhere all year round too. I have a sunny day bike, a rainy day bike, a winter day bike, etc. People keep giving me their bikes. I will have to say "no thank you" at some point. I think my fav so far is a 1989 Univega Rover ST given to me last year. It has that nostalgic feel and 80's ride quality. I fixed it up to be my grocery getter.
  4. Can the new tracks attach between regular train tracks such as for making a cog railway?
  5. My shelf displays are all A models except for one B model (8228). My MOCs are stored in bins since I lug them around to my LUG's shows and events.
  6. Perhaps the seller on Brickowl had no idea how much (and rare) that interface card would be worth to the right buyer. It pays to shop around.
  7. 1. Whipping a GBC module together the night before Bricks in the Six. Surprised it was a crowd pleaser during the public days. 2. None. 3. Build more for my LUG events.
  8. Whatever it is, it is not worth their while to operate BL in those countries.
  9. Looks like about 351 stores are impacted. Given the size of India's population, they have only 14 BL stores?
  10. Looks like a fun play set. The locomotive seems a bit like a GP40WH-2 without dynamic brakes and HEP. I think I would change the loco's front truck to match the rear.
  11. Friends sets are pretty good at combining stud and studless together for added functionality.
  12. The hole could stop it from rolling if there isn't enough momentum. There are also molded ridges on the balls. Those could get caught in mechanisms with sharp edges?
  13. Good job fixing.
  14. Nice . What do you use for counterweights?
  15. Cool, see you at BITS.
  16. Maybe connect a volt meter (or multimeter) to the output of the power pack and don't let it run above 9V?
  17. The PU remote can pair with more than one PU hub, if I recall. I guess one trick could be to fool the PU hub thinking that a PU train motor is attached. With the "train motor", one would get the variable speed control with the PU remote instead of the on-off. It can be done with an adapter going between motor and hub where the hub end of the adapter is wired to ID as a PU train motor. No programming or app are required.
  18. I believe the ESP32 has a built-in BASIC interpreter. It's basically for debugging if needed. There are also a number of BASIC interpreters for ESP32 on github. You can probably use Leguino to support Power UP hubs too.
  19. The STL files are available. I suppose one can 3d print the enclosure. Then hack in a basic PWM board and a direction control SPDT switch for "dumb" speed control.
  20. Being app based could have some privacy concerns.
  21. I think LEGO red is DD1A21 in hex. https://filamentcolors.xyz/colormatch/ Hatchbox ABS may be close. Finding an exact match can be hard. Shredding, melting, and extruding red LEGO bricks into ABS filament could give an exact match. :-)
