  1. Best bet is to contact LEGO and get it clarified in writing from them.
  2. All of the above. Keep, recycle, flatten, cut up, bigger ones work good for kneeling pad on cold garage floor.
  3. I think that is Patje's layout. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/6422-layout-train-layout-of-patrick
  4. Sounds dangerous. You may need to add some placards depending on your local regulations and federal transport of dangerous goods laws. I think 6 wide cowl is fine. It is like those old EMD F45 freight locomotives.
  5. Congrats to the winners. Let's put the two tbd builds in Nova Terreli. Thanks.
  6. Welcome to Eurobricks, Max.
  7. Welcome aboard, Shane. I go over to my friends' houses instead and no one asks. I don't really have room for them to hang out over at my place with all the LEGO taking up available space.
  8. Isn't it the moderator's duty to attend the toy fair and at least one Eurobricks event? Have fun and report back anything interesting.
  9. 8043 for sure. Be sure yours came with the newer Linear Actuators. I recall there was some problems with them in the early 8043 set production run.
  10. Would a rotary hobby tool with polishing attachment and brasso work any faster?
  11. I image what I want to do in my head and build. I don't bother with LDD unless there is a need like an entry for a LDD contest. For me the time spent in LDD could be better used to make more MOCs for my LUG public events. They always seem to need more new MOCs to keep things fresh.
  12. Welcome to Eurobricks, David.
  13. Welcome aboard, Count Bricks.
  14. Nice alternative build. What is the cargo on the flat car?
  15. Very nice shunter and diorama.
  16. I've seen the technique of putting an IR transmitter over a IR receiver used in the Audio/Video control room to control equipment like multiple VCRs, tape decks ,etc. from a central computerized console. Back the in 1990's, the system was very expensive. Now you can do the same with a few dollars of parts from China and a bit of programming. Sounds like a fun project. I look forward to controlling your trains over the Internet. Another use could be to let visitors and guests drive your trains but have your Positive Train Control take over when they run a signal or go too fast. It can make for fun interactive layout. I am trying to do something like that with my off and on Arduino project. I'll get there eventually. I'm just finding it more fun to build rolling stock for my LUG events than soldering and programming right now... You don't have to break into his network to crash his system at a public event. If it is wireless, there is always the risk of RF interference from other devices in the area causing problems just like sunlight or flourescent light can cause issues with the IR.
  17. After losing all her ships in the last MRCA, Susieh and her crew went searching for another ship. Since it was after Christmas, she thought maybe someone received a present they didn't like and wanted to toss it out. They went looking around the docks. Free Ship by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Lo and behold, a freebie ship license. The Pink Lady is an armed sloop in the class 2A. Pink and reddish brown doesn't look too bad.
  18. Most impressive. Good use of the new quarter gear pieces in the bucket. Extra kudoos for 100% LEGO.
  19. Presenting my Coffee Pot Steam Motor Coach NJAB 1. It is a unique Australian steam engine and passenger coach combined into one. The 2-2-0 steam engine was made in Leeds, England and the coach was built in Birmingham. There were only 2 built. Unit #1 entered service in 1906. For my LEGO version, I selected the dark green one that was displayed in Alice Springs during the 1960s to '80s. It just so happens I have some dark green 1x1 PAB bricks sitting around for ages. Coffee Pot Steam Motor Coach by dr_spock_888, on Flickr I believe this is my first steam MOC. My building technique was look at the picture and mashed it into a LEGO standard 6 wide style with parts on hand. It has Power Functions train motor, AAA battery box and IR receiver. The receiver is easily accessible behind the cab to change channels which is useful for running at our LUG events. With all the coffee the passengers and crew are drinking on my Coffee Pot, my rail outhouse should be included in the train consist.
  20. Very nice. Brings back memories of the LEGO Adventure theme.
  21. Yup, that works too. I don't have time to die now. I have to start building for my LUG upcoming events season.
  22. Thank you. Would it fit in Nova Terreli? Have you confirmed with the NBBB - Nellisa Better Business Bureau?
  23. Clever. Darth Vader doesn't need exercise, he has a rejuvenation tank to take of that kind of New Year's Resolution. Double posting is frown upon on Eurobricks. You could try to post a good new photo to the Star Wars photography thread and have a link to this thread for those who want to see more details.
  24. I am out of steam. Take me away in the rail ambulance, nurse twins! Thank you for following my little train adventure. Have a happy new year and all the best for 2017! Rail Ambulance by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Thanks. I like the ones you can pedal like a bicycle.
