LOAD "", 1 LIST 10 PRINT "NICE BUILD" 20 GOTO 10 My 1985 Commodore Amiga 1000's AmigaDOS came with a GUI out of the box. Those records could also pass nicely for 9 track reel to reel computer data storage tapes that the mainframes and minicomputers used.

That's because the IR receiver doesn't make use of the direction control lines of the battery box. It only connects to the +9V and ground. Philo has a nice write up on Power Functions on his website.

Using light bulbs that have daylight color temperature (5000K) might help. I have problems with blacks and dark blues when using light bulbs in the 3000K (soft white) color temperature range.

[MOC] Police Cart from Zootopia
dr_spock replied to sheo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Excellent build. I think a Judy Hopp mini-land fig handing out parking tickets to go with it would be icing on the cake. -
SBrick publishes their protocols. In theory you could write your own app to have features currently not in their app. The limitation would be the Bluetooth hardware in your phone or tablet as to how many devices it can communicate with simultaneously. I think users have requested multi-train control features in the Sbrick forum before. It would be fun to lash up multiple locomotives like you can do with DCC. You could do with PF infrared by setting the IR receivers all to the same channel. It might work better to make and program a custom IR speed controler that repeats sending the same command a couple of times just in case one receiver didn't catch it first time around.

Very nice build. Fun to watch going around. Does it handle R40 curves?

It made it to the review stage. It's wait and see if it makes it to production.

[GBC] Yellow Submarine

Great idea and GBC implementation. I don't think I have my sea legs yet, I get all woozy watching at it. -

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
dr_spock replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Perhaps LEGO is concerned with the copycats working off leaked images and getting the copied versions out to market before LEGO can hit the store shelves. I think as the copycats get more experienced and skilled, the time takes to produce a bootleg will be shorter. -

You can also use 14mm Chinese beads in many situations. They can be found on eBay - 100 for under $5USD. -

Here is something Hod Carrier built for 4 wide locomotive. It has picture of how the PF can be laid out. You can put the PF battery box in a separate car if you need more battery life than a 9V battery can provide.- 578 replies

Best Technic Set

I would still say 8258 for me. There was a previous topic on this, I wonder how many people have changed their minds since. -
GBC General Discussion

I made something kind of like that for a Xmas gift exchange a few years ago. I made it 1x1 plate lower step at the input. It seems to help a bit with the jamming a bit. I like how you are using curved slopes. I am going to try that. Wonder Woman Invisible GBC by dr_spock_888, on Flickr- 1,124 replies

I think it would have been nice if they included holes for connecting Technic pins. Depending on your usage, studs may not provide the necessary clutch power so that your $45 board won't go flying off.

What type of train would be best for Lego Friends?
dr_spock replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think trains with animals might be nice for Friends. Maybe a circus train? The final run of the PT Barum circus trains is this May, the end of an American icon approaches. You can combine passenger and freight. There is a Mia minidoll in a tux that would work nice for ringmaster uniform. Friends Party Train by dr_spock_888, on Flickr- 10 replies

Looks better scaled down for minifigs. The bigger sized one could be used for the Star Wars Rancor dental appointments.

The dog could be a Best of Show winner and is in the parade as a VIP (Very Important Puppy). The set is a bit like those Littlest Pet Shop toys that little girls like. LEGO is probably trying to play well into that market group.

Why is LEGO now being made in China?
dr_spock replied to 9v system's topic in General LEGO Discussion
He is wearing bi-focals and they didn't let him use a magnifiying glass. I guess they'll have hire a much younger new boss with good eye sight. I think they're trying to say you can't tell the difference by a quick look since the clones have gotten so good.
