All helicopter have floats and most boats are swamp type (with large fans at back). Demolition is not htat good. Looks like just another construction theme. Only interesting thing might be demolishing with large steel ball (if its steel).
  2. Flat and thick like 5x11 panel, just one edge is "sewn" off, so panel goes from 5 wide on one side to 3 wide on other side.
  3. No. Just the ability to add 8293.
  4. I'm sure pics will be out soon. My opinion on set (so far). 42030 - green "Le Mans" style racecar, white/black cabin - excellent set, on par with best MOCS 42038 - arctic truck in oragne, very futuristic, with double triangular tracks (as when you place track on ATV), non-foldable body and crane on back side - I dont like it - too "empty" and too futurustic 42037 - light blue/lime "Baja" buggy, with four large wheels (sam as on 42029) - independent suspension - nice looking but colours are odd (for now) 42036 - red/blue racing motorcycle, full armor, wheels as on last road motorcycle - very nice looking 42033 - pull-back white and blue roadster - nothing special 42034 - pull back blue/yellow quad - not race version as last few but more "work" oriented heavy quad. - nice looking, something new 42032 - small black/white bulldozer - triangular track (mix of 42028 and 8047) - looks wierd to me 42031 - very small black and yellow cherry picker - similar to 8868 - nice for its size 42035 - medium yellow dumper track - has new panels similar to 5x8 panels, but are wedged to 30 studs on one side - uses new medium tires (as on 42024) - very nice set with useful parts.
  5. No information about that, but it must be somewhere in 8070 range.
  6. Formula offroader - a little bigger version of 8048 (with equal tires rear and front) - full suspension Bike - like 8420 - same wheels and tires as 8051
  7. A lot like this, but without any flex axles. Mudguards are (new) single piece and cabin is done with angle technic connectors. Wheels and tires are the same, just black (with stickers). And to tease GreenPeace: it has some shell stickers
  8. Pirates are not summer release, but late winter release (march). As for Elves: sets look kind of modern (certainly not in Lotr style). Could this have something in common with upcoming Disney King Of The Elves movie?
  9. Just few tan plates. Even worse on fort: complete sets sits on few 2x8 blue plates on which arches are placed. On 2009 set we had at least 8x10 plates. Same with ship: all dark red is substituted with regular red and all gold with tan. It could still change though.
  10. I loved 2009 range. It was right after I got back into LEGO. I agree to wait with final judgement until official pics, because I was misleadt many time by prelims. But as it is now, it looks exactly like with 2013 castle line. You can not say that those sets are ugly or anything. They are just too basic to be really liked by AFOL-s.
  11. You are right. No Tumbler wheels on this one (the car would look strange anyway). Think of Audi R18 e-tron, but in green-black-white configuration (green body, white hood and cabin, black tail).
  12. Seen something. Cant say much, but dont expect anything special. Ship is 95% identical to 6243 and even more basic. Fort is also really basic (think of <insert that tiresome argument> 6263), same with outpost (could connect with fort). Island is ok with skull, palm and boat.
  13. We talked (in Billund) with Mark Stafford (Exo-Suit) and Marcos Bessa (Ecto-1, Arkham Aslyum, Santas Workshop) about that. They said that besides few notable exceptions (promoted to afol community), they dont care that much. There are a lot of them and for most its just a job (although very interesting one). In many cases sets are not even completely done by one designer, so its difficult to say who is the actual designer. Some EB members even tracked and contacted original designer of first, "yellow" castle (set 375). He was happy to see them, but not quite understand why someone would be interested in this. It never occured to him that this set is such a legend now or that anyone might be interested in who is the designer. For him it was just another job. Oh, and I also talked to Rok Žgalin Kobe (designer of most latest architecture sets) about that topic. He said that he is very proud that is just on of few designers (besides Adam Reed Tucker and on toher designer) to have his name credited on set box. But technicaly nither he Neither Adam are LEGO deisgners, but hired architects. Its interesting that we dont know much about designers of city, sw and other themes, but we do know most of the designers of Technic set (I dont know why).
  14. I did short review on our LUG webapge (in slovenian, english will follow). Wonderful set, just interior is too empty: http://www.kocke.si/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8370
  15. Its worth at least trying asking. Main problem, as I see it that PF is not included on LB list. Will work on that.
  16. Well, TLG was notified about this and here is their answer (official from LEGO Brands Relations department via Kevin Hinkle) "We appreciate the feedback you are sharing and please know that it is being routed to the appropriate teams internally for review. We hope that you know it is never our intention to disappoint the LEGO fan community. We understand the perspective that you’re providing, but we also hope that you know that having exclusives available at an event such as San Diego Comic-Con is a routine activity for just about every major brand on the show floor. We are discussing ways in which we may possibly meet the needs of a Con fan and the needs of our LEGO fans beyond the Con, but we also understand that we cannot always make decisions that suit everyone. We value the connection and dialogue we have with LEGO fans, and we have many programs and opportunities in place that demonstrate our commitment to you. Again, thank you for sharing your feedback and know it is being shared internally with relevant decision makers."
  17. No problem! You can read more about initial research in current issue of HispaBrick Magazine on page 92, where is interview with Yun Mi Antorini.
  18. Being one of those four, I can say: yes! :) I'm glad that you like the site or at least the idea behind it. Design could be (and will be) worked on, but most important thing is the list itself. Maybe a few words on how it started: last year a small number of LEGO Ambassadors participated in a project for TLG's CEE team with the goal to explain how complete AFOL ecosytem works (at least roughly). Things which are logical to us, like where we get ideas, how we coopaerate with each other, where we buy stuff etc..., are hard to understand to outsiders, including management and people which approve all kinds of support which community receives. It's final result were mostly diagrams, flowcharts and other complicated stuff, but no specific sites or data. It was succesful and aggregated data found its way into TLGs yearly report, but among its final thoughts was also the idea that it could be made much better. This year TLG's strategist Yun Mi Antorini came with the idea to broaden the research and make even better study. Four of was had the task to come up with methodolgy and questions and 25 other ambassadors were chosen to participate in survey, which was quite extensive. There were two stages: first everyone needed to compile a list of as many different LEGO reaated sites as possible. We got incredible number of answers and after organising them, list was again sent to group of 25 to rate those categories and give examples of sites. FInal compiled list still had over 1200 entries and was (as excel file) not that easy to browse. When thinking abou how to represent it in most usable way, our member Nathan Bryan came up with first version of BrickMap site (which was not planned at first). We agreed to keep working togehter and keep it alive and all you are invited to contribute. Please understand that we are not professionals and some things could take time (we are still figuring out how to it in most effective way and there is also slight delay because of the holiday season)
  19. Its not what he was asking. Surely you can order from German account to German adress, but not directly to you adress. I even ordered from Croatia, with german account to swiss adress - without problems. But to country without S@H - no go. Same goes for registering VIP card.
  20. In short: 1. No 2. No 3. It is, if you are VIP member LEGO S@H will not send to Slovenia and will not register VIP card to Slovenian adress. I raised that issue at TLG several times and answer was always the same: we will tell you if and when will be possible, There is workaround, not exactly legal, but TLG pushes us to do it: -you need adress in of the countries with S@H -go to store, request VIP card, put in this adress -after receiving email, register your card -go to store, make purchase, Its easier if you know someone with actual adress in S@H country. Just order to his adress and he can resend parts to you.
  21. Answer from LEGO (Jurgen Vig Knudstorp): http://aboutus.lego.com/en-us/news-room/2014/july/lego-shell-partnership
  22. I am afraid that there not much chance for that. Because of marketing reasons, LEGO does all "regular" sets in "themes" which means 5-6 sets minmum. Best chance outside of that would be to get is as part another theme (was done with Benny's ship, as a Lego Ideas set (was done with exo suit - waiting to get mine :) ) or as a D2C set (possible, but there are many other waiting to be done there). Another problem is that kids just dont see space as we did 20-30 years ago. There are no moon expeditions, verry little space travel or EVA and real lack of interes in anything connected to space. Kids see and want Sci-Fi, with aliens, time travel, combat and other things, not this "boring" classic space.
  23. I once had a case just like this. It was 8880, left do dust for 20 years in smoking household. It was as dirty as yours, but there were at least no moouse wastes. I took it to bathtub and gave it a good splash with very hot water. After that I sprayed it with dish detergent and again rinse it with hot water. I disassembled it (in your case better with gloves) and put parts in container filled with hot water and detergent and let it soak for some time. After that I separated smaller parts and run some water thru them and they were ok. Larger part (beams, technic bricks with holes and especially black plates) I had to brush manually and repeat detergent/soak/rinse process. Sets looked like really great after that.
  24. EV3 comes without CD/DVD software. It says in product description: This product requires an internet connection to download the programming and instructions software.
