Any estimates as to the value of this lot?
Cwetqo replied to BrickArtist's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I think aroud 50 euro. -
So, to sum it up (from all rumors): White passanger train: 3 cars, front and back with same one piece mould, small level crossing, small passenger platform, three minifigure (train driver, passenger, bicycle rider). Price 150$ (120euro) Cargo train with blue "maersk/bnsf" style locomotive, one open cattle car with brown car with "lone ranger" horns and farmer wit whelbarrow, one flatcar with two large cable drums, one long (split level?) open car with space for pallets (one with oil barrels?), train station with crane in stye of 4555/165 (moves on rails), red utilty shack, green truck and red forklift 200$(170euro) Train station with "strange" design, long, narrow roof over rails, yellow cab 50$(40 euro). Euro price are my speculation, but I guess price point will same as with current trains. We'll see what come out of all of it. Train looks like a real "texas" train, with cattle, cables (barbed wire :)) and oil.

the second one. I guess that makes it an ox?

There are other interesting things to be seen on that picture. On the left side, passenger train is leaving new train station (you can see narrow part of the roof which goes over the track and yellow taxi in the background). On the right, there small level crossing which is part of new passanger train and behind it is small passenger platform which also comes in this set. Plate with pictures of all three minifigs from the set could also be seen (there are no minifigs on this display). New crane from cargo set is very well visible. Waggons from that set seem to be all of lower (platform) type. Truck could be seen on the left side of the train and looks like green octan fuel truck (smaller version of great vehicles one), but it might be just carrying pallet with something green). There appears to be red cabin behind it (toilet or crew shack).
-
It was on one of partial prelim pics which circle around. But it might be just placeholder or tracks number is wrong (4 or 8 would be much more likely). If you look at leaked photo, straight track could be seen under the level crossing.

At least the new passanger train will have six straights instead of (unusable) flex rails.

I think that we will ALL get those three sets... :) I'm really looking forward to ISD. I missed 6211 during my dark time and since for ISD is THE ultimate SW ship, I was waiting for this last few years. And it seems even better, with new hinge syste, which makes it possible to have narrower side openings.
-
I certainly do! All SW fighters and TIE-s are fun, but real stars are Sopwith Camel and large yellow-red technic chopper, with bttery powered main and back rotors. I tried also with UCS Millenium Falcon (with turret removed and holding with one hand directly for technic structure), but its risky business (and you need to have really strong hand).

We also need to acknowledge that "midrange" pricepoint changed a lot over the years. Only reliable criteria would be that "midrange" sets are those with second (or third) largest piece count in that year. And even then, there are exceptions. Example: 8455 had just over 700pieces but it cost 100euro, and is certainly the flagship of that year, even if 8438 has more pieces (but it cost just 80euro). My Classification: 2003: Flagship: 8455 Midrange: 8438, 8454 2004: Flagship: 8436 Midrange: 8439ž 2005: Flagship: 8421 Midrange: 8416 2006 Flagship: 8285 Midrange: 8292, 8284, 8288 2007 Flagship: 8275 Midrange: 8274, 8273 2008 Flagship: 8297 Midrange: 8295, 8292 2009 Flagship: 8258 Midrange: 8063, 8265, 8264 2010 Flagship: 8043 Midrange: 8053, 8052, 8041 2011 Flagship: 8110 Midrange: 8070, 8109, 8069 2012 Flagship: 9398 Midrange: 9397, 9396, 9395 2013 Flagship: 42009, 41999 (on very notable exception) Midrange: 42008, 42000, 42006 2014 Flagship: 42030 Midrange: 42025, 42024 As we can, multiple set could fall in to that category. Flagship coul (by definition) be only one per year, but in last few years we got new category, "1,5H flagship" Real "midrange" sets are in my opinion sets which are in range 60-90euro (usd).

2014 Fox 8x8x8
Cwetqo replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If anyone is interested: I have one (1) new green wheel for sale. Once i bought bulk 8675 parts and I got five wheels. -
I dont think it didnt sell well. Its just that it was gone so soon, for no obvious reason. I know that TLG now responds very quick to changes in set sales, but still, I don't remember seeing any leftovers ot this set. Looking on previous train wave, I'd say that Train station was (and still) a non-seller. I saw large quantities at various stores with prices to as little as 15euro and it still didnt fly of shelfs.

You could try this. It has all numbers (and letters), but are not all the same colour: http://brickset.com/detail/?set=850686-1 This is better, because all number and letters are black (but in wont go with your existing numbers): http://brickset.com/detail/?set=850425-1

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Cwetqo replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, price is from Kiddiwinks. Its even more expensive than Sydney Opera house and almost double the price of Parisiene Restaurant. I really hope I'm wrong, but after seening the price of simpson House, I suspect it will be at least 250euro. Please note that I as Ambassador dont get any official (or unofficial) info about new sets and even if I would, I wouldnt disclose them to public. So, all my speculations here are based purely on information I get in topic itself. And thats why I added questionmark to my remark about the price.- 2,626 replies

Exactly. I dont have any new information except for what was posted here. I just needed name to go with (known) set number on my list. Regarding the set: I took out my motorized 8265 and put on Unimog wheels tires. It looks ok, but it also looks correct in size, so I doubt it will be much bigger. Number of pieces and the look of original model suggest that it might be much more beefier. Looking at it, it is also obvious that larger shovel was really needed. Small one on the 8265 was really out of scale (it was even photoshoped) on cover photo to make it look bigger.

Its going to be a difficult year. There are so many good sets that it will be essential to buy just the best ones. For me: D2C 10243 Parisienne restaurant 71006 Simpsons house Technic: 42025 Cargo plane 42030 Volvo front loader Lego movie 70816 Bennys spaceship SW 75054 AT-AT 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer 75052 Mos eisly cantina Trains 60051 High speed passanger train 60052 Cargo train 60050 Train station

Favorite Lego Technic sets ?
Cwetqo replied to Legofan225's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There are many good sets, but I would have to single out one set, it would be 8448. It was the only set which I wished even over my "dark ages". Its still good lčooking, its modular, it has 4 vesions and still the best wheels and tires. -
Its completely gone from most european S@H sites (not even listed any more) and its marked as "sold out" on US S@H. Muller Toy chain had insane discount on all LR sets in last days of december. Train was least discounted (60 from 100) while others were mostly over 50% (Cplby city was 30 from 60, Cavalry 7,5 from 15, comanche camp 15 form 30 and stagecoach 25 from 50). Even better was the mine set, discounted to 35euro from 80 euro. I think all gone now except for Comanche set (that one is really bad with its plastic tent), but it might be still good to check your local store. I see that onl thing left on US S@H is comanche camp (even if its discounted).

8482 Cyber Master
Cwetqo replied to clarkdef's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I bought it back in the days when it was available in stores. It was right in the middle of my 15year lasting dark ages and lego was pretty much out of focus then, but I got attracted by news of upcoming Mindstorms set. After first visit to the sotre I realised that it was too expensive for my budget and I got Cybermaster instead. Set came in nice "suitcase". Most parts were in strange colours, not compatible with other sets, but later i realized that there were several other sets with same combination at that time. Main disadvantage fro me was that two of three motors were molded together with main unit and battery box in one large (long) block. That limited its use mostly to various kinds of vehicles. That ruined my idea of building robotic arms and similar stuff and I was very sory for not saving a liitle more and getting mindstorms sets. Included models were ok: tracked tank with grabbing claw and two wheeled robot with some kind of attack-defense function. What ruined all was included software:it came only in german language and it used (too)many animations, talk, walking etc... Way too complicated and time consuming. Usage was also strongly tied to included models with games and thematic interactions. There was no mindstorms-like programing language except drawing robot path and setting actions at predefined spots. All in all, interesting set, but not in any way replacement for Mindstorms (motor and sensors were compatible so it would make nice parts pack). -
This has been discussed over and over several times and conclusion was always the same: thats the way the world turns. We even raised this issue at LEGO ambassador forum and answers were similar: competition is much more stronger in USA and lower costs (benefit of one large market vs 30+in europe) allow for setting the prices lower. This is even more obvious with licensed sets, where getting on license for whole usa is much cheaper vs geeting multiple licenses for small (we must admit that) european countries. This is not such problem for "rich" countries like Germany, UK or France, but it could look very unfair in countries with low income. The problem is thatTLG can not adjust this: countries are close and major reselling would occur.

I see that you also have 10030? Is that also part of the offer for trade?
