I have a liitle bit specific situation: my +2 are my wife and my 4 year old son. We will decide based on type of activity in which he (and his mom) will partcipate. Last year 'fenzes did the same and i thought that it should be ok. There is another thing: Is there a possbility for us to bring someone else with us (my wife's adult niece)? I know that some activities are limited with number of atendees, but there will be no problem to skip those. Our names: Bostjan Svetlicic (Me) Barbara Svetlicic (my wife) Nejc Svetlicic (my son) Marina Rajic (optional)

LEGO Ambassador Project: Design a NEW Pirate Sub-Theme
Cwetqo replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
9 out of 10 sold LEGO sets goes in to children hands (I think that last data was around 12% for afols). MiloNelsiano is right: safest way is to design theme under the same concept as similar contemporary themes or pirates form 2009. -
LEGO Ambassador Project: Design a NEW Pirate Sub-Theme
Cwetqo replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I support the idea too. I think that we need to follow some basic guidelines, if we want to present it as complete and viable proposition of the theme: -dont get carried away by making many large and complicated sets. Target age is 7-12 and sets need to be simple enough for that age -price range should be from 10 to 100 euro/usd. TLG will not make non-licensed sets more expensive than 100eur (maybe up to 120 if theme would be really succesful, like Ninjago or now Chima). -there should be max of 6-7 sets per wave, starting with simple "duel" in range of 7-10eur, followed with products in 20, 30, 40, 60 and 100euro/usd range -each set should contain at leadt minifigures both oposing factions. -largest set should be from "good" side (might be difficult with pirates vs islanders) This in nothing official, but I saw that the pattern repeats with each new theme. -
Great idea. I will promote this in Billund, but I'm afraid that todays "conflict" based concept is requirement from marketing department. It seem that kids today want to buy sets where one side can battle anoother.

I dont know if you tested Gyro Boy from Education set, but it works very fast, certainly faster than motors can react, especially if you plan to use actuators, which need few seconds to react. Edit: I never tried anything with gyro sensor, but after checking in Education software, it seems that gyro sensor block has just one angle output, which most likely means that It can measure angle on just one axis. That means that two gyro sensors would be needed, placed at 90 degrees to each other, to control movement in both axis.

[HELP] 5292 Buggy Motor
Cwetqo replied to HorcikDesigns's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I own original RC RC buggy and also disassembled receiver/battery unit. It has some very strong (at least by the looks) electrical elements (most likely transistors) which enable higher power to be unleashed. -
Dont forget that large amount of land in arctic circle belongs to Denmark. They have arctic expeditions, camps, icebreakers etc...

I dont know what you got, but 3740, 3741 and 3740 are not complete sets. You need to get one of sets with colouerd bricks (3743-3746) to buil complete locomotive (+tender) 3740 is small engine without coloured bricks 3741 is large engine without coloured bricks 3742 is tender without coloured bricks 3743-46 are coloured bricks for one of engines (either 3740 or 3741) and tender So, for one comlete compostion, you need: 3740+3742+3743(or one of other packs) for small engine or 3740+3742+3743(or one of other packs) for large engine.

Of all sets: Arkham Aslyum System sets: Superman vs Power Lex I dont like Marvel sets that much, but I would have to choose one, it would be Daily Bugle Escape.

Snowcat (ratrak) -
I think that there is a rule that all TLG support discussions are to be limited to closed part of LUG forums (there is a good reason for that).

May I opt for last one? :)

Who knows, maybe its a feature not a bug: maybe mirrirs will set into position after turning the ignition on. :P Abou fenders and strange design: it's called "customized truck", so aftermarket parts are supposed to be installed. Negative caster could mean softer and longer suspension (like baja trucks)
-
Its just small orange truck with rubber tracks and three large pairs of wheels (like on last batcave or temple of crystal scull). Superstructure is similar to road maitenance truck. I like tracked vehicle from outpost set much more (they call it "ratrak" here).

I counted studs on the length of the wing of old (6211) and new star destroyer. On old one its 70studs and on new one 62 studs. I did the same following wing at widest part and its 22 studs (x2) on old and 20 studs on new one. Those two missing stud are on supestructure, not on the wing itself, so it looks like complete supestructure is smaller (which is more in line with original ship from the movies). Too bad that its smaller, but it seems to be the case wtih all recent re-issues.

There is initiative on LA forum to get original files from LEGO, but so far there was no response.

Nice set with all needed parts: soldiers, horse, cannon and pallisade bricks. Too bad we wont get officers, wagon or even fort. Officer instead of Lone Ranger would be great, but I can understand why that was not possible. Another superb review!

I'm not really fan of this set (I guess this one really appeal more to girls) but excellent review makes it to read to the end.

Lovely set and great review!
