  1. ============================================= Hello, all, This is a new Wasabi District Thread, since my layout concepts have changed quite a bit since I last posted anything about Wasabi District. I decided to post up a new one since I have decided at the last second to actually bring a layout to Brickworld 2016! So, I have already put a couple of pics on Flickr the past few days, but from here on out I will also update this thread. To start: Here are the Cars of Wasabi District, most of which I will be bringing to the show, And the Trucks of Wasabi District, some of which I will also bring. And here are the WIP stuff: The trees. I want to put a more temperate, vibe. The roads. Instead of having parallel parking space in the main road, I have instead substituted a dedicated bike lane in green, and the pedestrian crosswalk in brick/dark red. And my big skyscraper building progress. This will be the hotel's top floor, a sky lounge that includes a bar and an observatory. So there's what I got for now! I am building a few floors concurrently, as well as completing the road system. I will update this thread with Brickworld progress, and then also add more updates on my layout in general. I have about 4 weeks left, so I am rushing! Hope I get it ready in time for Brickworld. Post your comments and suggestions! Thanks for looking.
  2. Hello fellow EB members; I present my newest MOC with a distinct American feel from the 1940's - Brickhills Avenue. It was inspired by a trip to Disney's Hollywood studios several years ago. I was really interested in the Art Deco/Streamline styling of some of the stores on 'Sunset Boulevard' and 'Hollywood Boulevard' and did some research to find out where they got their inspiration from. Many of these buildings are based on real one's in and around L.A, many of which are still in use today albeit with different purposes. The corner store houses Gini's electrical store and the white and black streamline building is a ladies clothing boutique. I certainly enjoyed making the ladies store more than the electrical shop I've set it in the early 1960's, just as the 'Walk of fame' stars we're being added to the sidewalk/pavement, also a good excuse to use some very cool Scooby-Doo 1960's hairpieces! Anyway on with the pics - all 7 of them; You can see them at flickr if you prefer on the link here: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Any questions, comments or suggestions welcomed!
  3. You know a building is doomed when you start stealing pieces from it for another project. The interior is in ruins already, but I thought it was worth taking a photo of the facade to share. This was supposed to be a bank or maybe a library or maybe a museum. It's a bit undersized for a modular and that was bothering me. Inspired by this real bank in Staunton, VA.
  4. Here I present to you my Grand Hotel Ocean View - work in progress. That is the outside facade is ready, but I still need to add the interior and the roof garden. Inspiration to this came from last years summer holiday. And then the friends hotel came, and I bought it and used many of its elements. But alas, to build a hotel is such an undertaking... The project plan got delayed. It is still WIP and the interior needs to be added. And now if I'm not careful these agents start sending the tourists already. I know some of you have been awaiting this, so here you go. Tipps for interior appreciated. The forefront can be nicely integrated into a Grand Esplanade. The palm shaded garden side invites to have breakfast outside. I'm not yet decided what shades to use for the rooftop. And of course the gardeners have lots to do still. The belle etage has lofty rooms with a balcony each and ocean view. Rooms are flooded with beautiful sun light. The impressive carpet for the Great Hall has been delivered, but the clerks are missing their desks. Of course the MOC is modular and can be integrated with other Lego City buildings. C&C welcome. Some more pictures and sizes can be found on Flickr.
  5. Dunno if the mods wanna merge the other thread with this but Sports is coming next summer. Looks like we were right!
  6. Let the pictures speak for themselves.
  7. I'm looking for 2 particular MOC's, but haven't had any luck finding them; - Both are collaborations of serveral builders with a cyberpunk/futuristic/dystopian city theme. - Google isn't my friend anymore... I keep finding the 2013 Cyberapocalypse build or the 2011 Cybercity build, which aren't it. The 1st one; - Found it; A Bus Stop In Bucharest. The 2nd one; - Isn't so recent as the 1st one, more around 08/09-ish, maybe even older? - Had a train/metro on the foreground with a road above it. - Hoverboarders on the side of the road on some sort of track. - Police vehicles + police figs occupying the road itself. - An overpass/bridge + a gang of 'Akira' styled bikers riding underneath it. - Had vehicles caught in a traffic jam. - Was hosted on an own server, no Flickr/MOCpages. - Was called 'City 17', 'Sector 7' or something similar to that. - Found it; Zero Hour on Highway 44. Please drop a comment if you happen to know what I'm talking about. Mod's you may close this thread/topic, if you feel like it.
  8. I'm not sure weither this is the right forum, but I actually got an interview on TV. The video is in Dutch but it gives you a nice view on the start of the Greenville layout and it also shows a bit more of my ship the ''Halve Maen''. There are also quite a few MOCs in there I have not posted yet. I will keep you updated on the Greenville layout and everything, but if you have any questions you can ask them here. i hope you enjoy the interview! http://www.omroepfle...bouwen-met-lego PS. Is it possible to embed the video, I don't know how to?

    Taverna

Hi my friend! Here i show you my new modular. The idea came from a building i saw in Rhodes when i was there this summer. 10. G'day everyone, I started working on my new city layout a couple of days ago so the attached photo's are the WIP so far. I just need a few more straight pieces to finish the sidings and also a quite a few base plates to cover the boards. I also need a name for my city so feel free to drop some suggestions! Looking down to the left side of the town - there is a cargo terminal on the left, fairground in the middle and farming on the right. Behind the fairground will be a mountain region. To the bottom of the photo will be a recycling depot and fueling depot. We then move into Main Stree - there is a space between the PR and the FB for the DO which I'm getting for Christmas. To the right of the station will be a bus terminal. Right hand side of Main Street - bus terminal and general business etc. Right hand side of the layout - Beach and houses to the far left, Emerald Night workshop on the right. Can you spot the Foreman sleeping on the job? She wasn't very helpful! So there you go - lots of base plates required - might throw in a mountain and maybe a tunnel in somewhere so I can build on top - I have the Mine set and Harbour set to build up as well!! Plus I need to find room for a baseball field!! Arhhhh lots to do lots to do!! Thanks for looking and don't forgot your City name suggestions!
  11. The City of Skavenport was one of the strangest cities in Nocturnus, where indeed many a strange town existed. Maybe it was even one of the most peculiar cities in all of Historica. But at the first glance a visitor could find no difference to any other bustling town. There were half timbered houses, large and small, built without any sign of logic; older houses with crooked roofs and sagged walls, newer houses attached to the others whereever a free corner could be found. Houses lined to long winding alleys. Some of the larger streets were paved, or once had been at least, but most were muddy and rough. Everywhere the reisdents were busy, hushing through the streets, children were playing, and barkers could be heared. All in all it was a loud place full of life and hustle. But this most special town was inhabited by rats. Not only rats, but rats and men together, side by side. Because this was the city of Osric Isentooth, the Rat Lord. Long ago, when the rats, were driven out of their realm far in the northern Rakath Mountains, Osric led them all through Nocturnus to the eastern shore. But the rats had been weakened and were disheartened. So Osric called for people all over Historica to follow him and join his cause. So the men of Skavenport had come. They were neither lords nor noble knights, not even brave farmers or diligent craftsmen. These men had been thieves and robbers, smugglers and all sort of sinister fellows. That kind of people decent citizen would call rats. And said:"You may live like vermin under your kind, or you live free and proud under us rats." So vagabonds turned into most respectable citizens. They became farmers and craftsmen and merchants. Thieves, who had never known other than loneliness, became the fathers of families. And the rats on the other hand adapted much of the manners of their new neighbours. Where they once had lived in caverns and dug tunnels they now inhabited tall houses and walked other broad streets. They learned to esteem precious fabric and to trade with all kinds of goods (a new and very strong domain of the rat people). They learned how to grow crops and even how to tame the sea. Some travelled far away aboard black sailed ships and returned with spices from isles as far in the south as any mariner ever dared to sail. And the rats and the men lived henceforth in union, and nothing ever would divide them. So, finally I can present you the first build of my city! Enjoy Skavenport!
  12. Hi mates, today I post my Fire Truck Ladder no. 2, the model is based on 2012 set 60002 "Fire Truck". I added two more big compartments and two small boxes, light, more equipments, two small fire hoses with control panel. Finally, I added more segments to the ladder and a chest.
  13. Hello! I continue to post my creations on Fire Trucks theme. This is the time of the my Off Road Fire Truck. Is based on the model from 2012 set 4208 "4x4 Fire Truck". Over the standard set equipments, now has two more large compartments, more equipments as chainsaw, a fire hose with relative control panel and lights.
  14. Although I don't buy much City sets, I also agree that the sets looks great. But one thing that bother me about the building sets in City is there's only a half of the building. Do you think that it'll be nice to having a whole building rather than a half? And also, since most themes has sets that have more than 900 pieces like DC Superheroes, Star Wars, Marvel Superheroes and Technic, will you think that City also needs some UCS-sized sets like a massive police station that as big like the 10179 Millennium Falcon? (Just UCS-sized, not a proper UCS set)
  15. Hi folks, My long running saga of a project has finally been finished. Inspired by a trip to Portugal this summer, Rua Amarelo is a corner street featuring a Pasteleria and a hat shop. The yellow corner building is perhaps more authentic in colour and I would of preferred to have made a tiled effect for the narrower building but could not source enough tiles from what I had at my disposal. Really would like TLG to bring back sand red in an assortment of pieces! No interior this time but I'm hoping to have something to see inside on my next MOC which is already planned. Anyway on with all 4 of the pics; You can view them at flickr if you so wish https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome!
  16. Here it is my City Ambulance no. 1. The base is the 2006 set 7890 "Ambulance". The style of the ambulance wants to look like the style of american ambulances so I enlarged it to to derive a large compartment in order to accommodate a paramedic, a stretcher, medical computers, medikits, various equipments and an oxygen tank.
  17. Hello mates, I'm back with new creations on rescue and emergency theme. This is a 4x4 Off Road Ambulance. Is based on the vet unit from 2015 set 75917 "Raptor rampage". I changed the colors, add a winch, and added some details and interiors as a stretcher, medical computer and an oxygen tank. For the stickers I have downloaded them from internet.
  18. This is my version of the ambulance from 2013 set 60023 "City starter set". I changed the color of the roof, changed the layout of the lights. I added some interiors, added a stretcher, a compartment for some medical equipments as a oxygen tank and medikits.
  19. The Streets Of Skavenport With endless forests surrounding the city, Skavenport has immense access to huntable wildlife. The skin sold by the huntsmen is processed into fine fur by Skavenports many furriers and one of the most desired exports. Foxes, sables and wolves are popular furs, but you will never find a coat of squirrel skin, or a beaver hat in Skavenport, since Lord Osric had forbidden the sale and production of rodents, in the city. On the furrier's bench last rags of flesh are severed from the skin. Tanning makes the skin smooth and durable. So, a little bit more Skavenport. Enjoy!
  20. Today I post my City Ambulance 2, is the model from 2011 set 4431 "Ambulance". I haven't changed the exterior, I only changed the interior, added more medical computers and equipments.
  21. Hello, this is the time to post my Fire Ladder no.1. The model is based on 2004 set 7239 "Fire Truck". Now has a lot of equipments, more storage boxes and compartments, fire hoses and two control panel on the sides, lights, water spear and ladder with 7239 mechanism. This truck can tow a divers unit with dinghy. The divers unit:
  22. Hello everyone I recently finished up a smaller build, a scene depicting 2 people trick-or-treating. Anything you do or don't like? Feel free to let me know! I am always looking to improve my building skills and techniques. Thank you, Pat.
  23. Hello all, I am one of those crazy fans who loves the Winter Village line all year long. I am constantly looking for sets that can be modifed to fit the vintage feel of the Winter Village. I currently have all the usual suspects in my village including the smaller limited edition sets from each year. I also have a few creator sets including Changing seasons and Mountain Hut. Last year I modified a Medieval Market as well as the small building from London Chase. I have a pretty small but growing collection of parts so I prefer finding official sets that can be modified instead of MOCs. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

    Train Station

I decided it was about time my city had a more substantial train station, so using 60050-Train Station as a base I created something a bit more majestic. I still have some work to do as I am missing a few pieces to finish off the roof of one of the buildings and I need to re-arrange my train tracks to account the extra building. I hope you like it, all comments and suggestions are welcome. 25. The Streets of the desert city of Oni'Kar are dangerous. Merchants are never safe, Neither are sick, poor people. Cat fights can break out over simple games of luck, and assassinations can come at the most awkward times. (a couple extra pics below:) (A cat wanting to get drunk:) (The Back:) Thanks all for viewing this! It's just a small section of a large desert city in a book i'm writing. I haven't posted anything in a while, and i'm just now getting back into the groove of building regularly. Leave any CoC, and thoughts in the comments! Thanks!
