  1. I can not imagine this being under 150 euro.
  2. I agree with Rick: let's not make problems where there are none. TLG has very able legal service which would have already intervened if it would bother them that much. And you, as user, will certainly not be hold responsible, if you download something. Only thing which could really be a problem is use of "lego" in its url (it's not used as site name on site itself), but that's the problem (and responsibility)of site owner. As for instructions themself: most of the new ones (originating from TLG) are just links to files hosted on lego.com. Several sites use this (including brickset) and TLG never complained. Older instructions are just scans from printed instruction booklets. I suspect they come from another site, which had been collecting and hosting those for long time, but this is something between owners of both sites. I checked several scanned instructions and none seem to have copyright marked on them, so it should (again) be ok to scan and host them. Only things, which could be problematic, are LEGO idea books. Those were sold as separate poroduct and do have copyright marked on them. I dont know if those are still valid, but I 'm pretty sure that TLG's legal service will take care of that. I'm of course in no way speaking officialy for TLG.
  3. -about box size: when touring LEGO packaging factory in Billund, we got explained that (then) new, smaller boxes cause problems on packaging line, because in many cases parts of polybags are left sticking out after machine closes the box. Box may seem half empty when you open it, but please have in mind that contents "settle in" after all handling and transportation. So, current box size is not just commercialy more attractive, but also technicaly more suitable. And TLG made whole proces more "green" by moving packaging factories closer to its markets (maybe thats on of the reasons why packaging plant in billund is closed by now)
  4. Arocs is "available late 2015", which probably means october or november (before black friday). And crane is over 100 ponds (140euro) which in a way makes it "summer" flagship. Wait will be really long this year.
  5. S@H works fine on Chrome on all of my four computers.
  6. It might be true... I know that 1h 2016 sets are already being discussed with mayor retailers, so it is possible that LBR employees (or at least manager, who do the ordering) got some info. It would certainly be nice to have castle back.
  7. Thank you for this excellent review. I liked swamp police from first time I saw them and this set is one of the best in lineup.
  8. Cook is the best (or is "The_Cook" )
  9. I had those at home, but just for few hours, until my collegue picked them up: Other reviews should follow in day or two (check http://www.brickhamster.net/) Seeing box in person, sails look even more bright red, so they are most likely not compatible with those from last ship. Details on ship also look as if they are "normal" red, but I gues they just made colours too vivid.
  10. I think that they just ran out of available slots for this year's D2C sets. And I think it's because of Kwik-E-Mart and big succes of Simpsons. Emerald Night - April 2009 Maersk - April 2011 Horizon Express - January 2013 (ok, thats a bit off, but still at the beginning of the year) April 2015 - Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart Who knows...
  11. Well, they used trick. Boom is very long, so, if shown in full size, details would not be well visible, so they put one (or two) lattice sections out and picture the crane lifting that segment. Boom looks like it has 5-6x15L sections which is around 60-70 centimeters, but they are showing picture with height marked together with crane, which would make it close to 1 meter.
  12. Diffs should be turned in opposite way.
  13. In my opinion, If set is provided for review by TLG (I dont know if that was so in case of TechLUg and Brickset), it needs to be reiviewed with all stickers applied, and presented the way it was designed. On 42039 stickers play a big role in overall look ot the model, especialy those on wheelarches.
  14. Hotel price is a liitle bit high, but it looks like a very nice place so it could be justified. However, I do have other "problem", which will most likely prevent me from coming, but if all checks out, there will be two additional junior eurobrickers coming to next years event :)
  15. If I remember correctly, Cargo Train (yellow one) was 180€ and SuperPack was 220€. It included train (180€), train station (40€), switches pack (17€) and tracks pack (17€). So, basicly switches and tracks packs were free (34€discount).
  16. I talked to modulex guys in Skaerbaek and I'm pretty sure that their intentions were fair. Kjeld Kirk was also there, so maybe that triggered this action (it was specificly said that request originates from the owner family). It would be very difficult to produce quality modulex bricks outside TLG (no one could achive that kind of knowledge in less than 5 or 10 years) and badly made bricks would just spoil their reputation. An there is one, also very important thing: one of basic principles of LEGO is "system of play". It mean that all product lines are compatible and could be combined. You could fix duplo brick to technic set, but you can not do it with modulex bricks.
  17. Modulex company was bought by LEGO Juris, which is part of LEGO which (among other things) takes care about legal rights and trademarks. Unfortunately that means an end to any new modulex projects and bricks (LEGO Juris certainly does not produce bricks). TLG basicily wants to keep the rights to the company for historical reasons. Please see official stamement here: "We are pleased to tell that LEGO Juris A/S has acquired Modulex bricks in a mutual agreement. It has been important for the LEGO Group owner family to ensure historic rights stay within the owner family. The potential to produce Modulex bricks has also been addressed and there are no plans to manufacture Modulex bricks in the near future. Thanks for your interest in Modulex and for joining this Facebook page!"
  18. I agree with you, Kim. New separator with sharper edge is not built to last forever, like previuos one was. And I certainly will not complain, if I get something for free.
  19. Best set 2014: Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (having it presented in person by designer might help a little) Worst set 2014: Battle of Five Armies (nothing special and way too expensive) Best minifigure 2014: Joker (from UCS Tumbler) Worst minifigure; Snowtrooper (new versio, with "skirt") Best theme; Arctic (I just love it) Worst theme; Minecraft Excitment for 2015: New Expert Train
  20. I really like new, thick manuals. Too bad I got old type with my plane, but at least I'm satisfied with the fact that all upcoming flagship will most likely have thicker ones.
  21. With low budget, buy 42029. It should be fairly easy to motorize, but again, If you add price of motors and remote, Its price would come close to 9398.
  22. I dont think so. First place would have to be chosen between UCS falcon, Cloud City, and SDCC exclusives. I have both Death Star and SSD, but the problem is the same as it was with falcon: where to put it. Its not just the size: problem is also that DS dont have this "sculpture like" quality of some other UCS sets, which would earn it its place in the living room.
  23. TLG is indeed doing some cuts, which are in my opinion unnecessarsy, given unprecedented financial succes of company as a whole. They state that the reason for this are many new fans and afols which appeared in last few years, mainly from the east. I was part of the group which was set to redefine Lego Ambassador Program and transorm it into what now became "Lego Ambassador Network. I'm not copmpletely happy with what came out either, but new CEE manager set many fixed points which were undebatable. But lets wait and see. I still think It could (and should) work and if not, we will have good reason to request changes. Regarding Classic Pirates Ambassador: the problem is its connection to Eurobricks. If CP.com would register as standalone online community, it could easily continue to have ambassador. Only problem is that rules for online communities are not fixed yet and recognition of online comminity for relies solely on discretion of CEE staff, but that should change soon. I will also not continue as Ambassador, but I will stay at another function in the program and I promise my support if and when this PIrate subtheme will be proposed (but it would need to get presented by EB ambassador). I also agree with "the cook": do it for yourself. Chances of getting it realized by TLG are in any case not very big. It talked to some TLG staff about this in Skaerbaek and they said Lego Ideas might be best (or only) chance to get it done,
  24. Told you so... Such an oportunity lost...
