Official price in most european contries is 69,99 euro. At little over 1000 pieces that almost exacty half of Palace Cinema.

You are right. TLG had problems with many leftovers from Atlantis, PoP and Toy Story themes and they decided to shorten supply lines and make much more flexible production. They also improved ordering system and reporting about stokc and as a result of that, set are not being left out on shelfs which means no discount. Non moving items eat up precius shelf space and could also lead to losing it, , whuch is really bad, because shelf space is most valuable commodity in those competetive times.

Eurobricks Event 2014 - Information Topic
Cwetqo replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I paid around 47 euro (354dkk) for 1 lego house, 2x pizza and drinks which is exactly as it shoud be. There might be some additional charges for non-eur credit cards (I read something about that in Huw's description of Insider Tour). I found this: "Major international credit and debit cards are widely accepted in Denmark. Please note, however, that taxis, hotels, restaurants, shops, petrol stations etc. are permitted - but not obliged - to charge a fee when payment is made by a foreign payment card (credit & debit cards). If it is company policy to charge such a fee, the company must make its customers aware of this, for instance by displaying a notice at the hotel reception or in the hotel room, on a restaurant menu, or by the entrance. Businesses are permitted to charge up to the equivalent of the percentage amount they are charged by the card issuing company, usually up to 3.75%, although this may vary. " Its still not 70 dollars thought, so I dont know... Did you count in price of drinks? Ours was almost as much as the food. -
I think that 240 euro is valid just for France and most likely Denmark, Sweden and other "expensive countries". In Germany, Austria, Italy and most other countries 9398 iz 169,99 euro. 42009 is 200 euro at that markets (and 240 in France) and I beleive that that is the pricepoint which 42030 will hold. Its the price at which they were selling Unimog, which has a little bit more pieces, but less PF (and is also licensed).

I still think that 4 L motors would be enough. The model you are trying to build doesnt have large superstructure so it wont be THAT heavy. I tried driving 9398 offroader with PP wheels and it drives ok and can even do some light offroading (tested on our TT course). Your model would be just that times two but with lower weight. If you insist on using 8 L motors, I suggest using 4 V2 receivers and 4 battery boxes (preferably LiPo type which is realy light and powerful enough). 4 L motors per receiver will just stall it (as you already found out). Both suggested combinations will also enble you to drive it with one remote (for using both A and B ports you will need two remotes just for forward which could be problematic, because you might not be able to control both exactly in sync)

There is no need to think about it yet. There are still more than 200 numbers free between 10280 and 10500 and quite a few more between 10500 and 11000.

I can confirm that numbers on printed 1x4 tiles are indeed different, but they don't seem to follow any pattern, like in set 41999. I got this:- 228 replies

It was my first visit to LL Billund, after being twice in LL Gunzburg. Comparing those two, I found german version of minland more attractive, most likely because of more international theming. Other things are so so, but it was ok, because I didnt expected a lot more. Park is really nicely done, with all lawns, small trees etc... For adults attractions are a little on the soft side, but for the target audience I think that they are more than good enough. We went there with our son and all enjoyed it, but dont know if I would bother again, if I would be in Billund alone.

It looks like we were last to arrive home (even after Whitefang). We went to Copenhagen for some sightseeing and started back home in the evening (its much easier to travel if our son sleeps). I would like to thank Bonaparte, Copmike and other Eurobricks staff for organizing this and Jan, Kim and other from TLG for their support. It was an incredible event with all goodies, exclusive tours and lectures. Dont worry about next year, you dont need to surpass it, even half of that would still be enough. Many thanks also from my "+3". Even not being that hard LEGO fans as others, they still enjoyed it very much and all agredd to come next year too. P.S.: I hope my son was not too disturbing. He is really too enthusiastic about some things.

Ambassador Project - Definition of Design Constraints
Cwetqo replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I agree about presenting also the idea of large "exclusive" set, but it must selected in such way that it will not ruin the concept if it will not be chosen. Other comments: Build style and technique - target audience: I suggest that we aim for more spohisticated style, with use of SNOT and rare colours. I think that we must really try and avoid the childish look of last Castle line. Target audience is of course 5-12 year old boys, but we should aim for older (nostalgic) audience too. This theme should have some kind of "premium" feeling of licensed sets, but without licence itself. Number of minifigs, amount of printing, number of colours, design style (black lining) printing constraints Number of minifogs of course depends on set size, but two should be minimum, expect for possible polybag. Complex printing shouildnt be a problem (TLG advanced a lot here). Printed legs and back sides should be standard, but I suggest to also probe the new bi-color molding technique used in simpsons line. TLG delepoed it and they might wanna use it again. New parts Main question/request should be new medium sized hull pieces. As it is now, we are seriuosly limited to building only small boats and large ships. Minimisation of the number of unique parts Special care should be taken to check and use all usable and curently available designs from LoTR, PoTC, The Movie and other subthemes. Connected builds - no loose bricks I agree, with the exception of coins and weapons in a barrel. Accessibility - gap/door sizes, interior depth Open back sides, ships without hull, removable cabin roof ... We've seen it all and they are there fo a reason. Play function / story telling Maybe include 1-2 page comic? Paul Lee cold help here, but I would rather not contact him before getting any green light from TLG (after all, he works for them) Play functions are of course very nice to have. -
AFAIK Pet Shop will stay another year and Death Star is finaly going out.

Set number: 42025 Name: Cargo Plane Number of parts: 1297 Price: 119,99 eur (S@H Germany) LEGO Technic fans are always complainig that sets are not innovative enough and that TLG always uses same, boring colours and same types of wehicles (trucks, cars and cosntruction equipment). Well, this time thats not the case: we got rare type of vehicle (transport plane) and two relativly rare colours: white and blue (a lot less than it seems at first look). This set was meant to be "1,5h flagship", but its still not on sale in some countries, due to this years offset caused by LEGO Movie. Ok, lets get to review itself: surprisingly, after last years very small sized 42000 box, we again got normal sized box. Its the same size as for example 9397 box, but also the same size as nearly double priced 42009 Crane set (I heard that TLG is having some problems with stuffing polybags into smaller sized boxes). In my opinion, box design is very good and set look decently attractive. On the back side we have even more innovative "howercraft" B-model. I didnt put it together, but it loks good enough to be standalone set. Contents of the box. As we can see its half full which is similar to ther sets of that size. We get 11 polybags plus motor and battery box. Instruction come in three booklets (just one would be much better as on some newer sets). "gagne" boy is of course there  Two giant (A4 sized) DSS sheets. This is really A LOT of stickers. After sorting, we can see that there is really a lot of white bricks. We get impressive amount of both curved and flat panels, six of the new narrow type panels and decent amount of liftarms and other elements. Its insteresting that curved panels are of old type, with less holes (not like on 42009). It seems that TLG will continue to produce both types and use them as needed. You can also notice different accents of white. Its very obvious here, but not so much on finished model. New, "narrow" panel. I dont think it was necessary, but now its here and it will surely be used a lot. New, "axle pin" (also used in other 2014 sets). Other interesting part, most notably even five mini LA-s. Not that many gears. There are no complex mechanisms on this set (except gearbox) and it shows. Please also note small amount of blue colour, which is mostly added with stickers. M-motor and some pins (a lot less than in 42009, which got nearly 1000). Its too bad that motor is not newer, "L" type. This time we dont start with transmission (like in most sets), but with undercarriage mechanism. Gear box is this time at the top of the set and is added later. Standard 4 way transmission. Nothing new here. After we connect lower and upper part, plane starts to take shape. It's interesting to see that instructions lead you to "force" mini LA during construction and open the cabin. It goes, but the sound is terrible. . Finally, we add the wings. Set with wings is really huge and becomes difficult to handle. Stickers cover most of the surface, but also really make this set come to life: Side view looks a little bit "empty", especially at the back side. Most functions are operated with levers on the top of the plane. Left two operate 4 stage transmission with following functions: lifting front cabin, operating landing gear, lowering rear acces ramp and spinning of propellors. All functions work ok and fast enough. Propelolors have safety mechanism and can stop when hitting obstacle. Center lever operates function, which was (at least for me) somehow unexpected: slats, which are used to make wings longer (change the geometry of wing and make landings easier). Its just simple mechanical transmission, but it works really ok. Even more to the right is lever which controls aillerons (roll the plane) and elevator (lifts/lowers the plane). Unfortunately, rudder is fixed. Functions: Liftin/lowering the cabin: Lifting/lowering back ramp: Lifting/lowering landing gear: Wheel dont "hide" completely, but just "flatten" It looks much better from the side: Wheel covers also move up, when wheels go down . Last function is propellor rotation. They rotate in opposite edition and have safety mechanism which can stop then when hitting obstacle. Other functions are manual: One of more unexpected to me was flaps (I hope I got that right). They are used to change geometry of wings at landing or when lower speed is required. Here in closed position: And here in opened. Please note that flaps are just inner two panels. Outer ones are calles "aillerons" and control "roll" of airplane. Inner one (of the turn) moves up an outer one down. They are used to turn the airplane, together with "elevators", which are located on the tail. Both are controlled by same handle, located at the middle back of airplane (in-cabin placement like on Sopwith camel would be better, but closed cabin makes it impossible to implement). Already mentioned elevators, located at the tail. Both move in same direction and tend to fall down due to weight of the panels. Rubber like on Sopwith Camel would help a lot here. There is no rudder control and its location is just indicated with additional liftarms (on vertical fin). Here are some comparison shots: when building it, this set reminded me very much to classic 8480 - Space shuttle. Its size is roughly the same and it has similar functionality (4 way gearbox). You can also see how "snow white" are new bricks comapred to 20 year old ones. Helicopter 9396 is much newer and even more similar build. Again, they are approximately same sized and both with 4 gear gearbox and some other functions (collective control on helicopter and directional controls on plane). Helicopter comes withour motor and battery box and its colours are not htat rare, but its still very good value at 40 euro less than airplane (90 vs 130 euro) Ok, next set is not Technic, but I had it handy and its (again) similarly sized. Its LEGO Creator Expert 10226 Sopwith Camel. Its visualy much more accurate and it also has some interesting functions like working suspension on undercarriage and working in-cabin control stick, but there are way to few gears for us Technic fans (everything is controlled with strings). :) Conclusion: I give this set 9/10 points. It impresses with idea, colour and good implementation of (at least some) functions. It gives Techinc range well needed "freshness" and it also servees as very good example of (simple) avionics and plane controls. As negative I wold point out the price (at least compared to 9396), a little too opened back side and really too much stickers (it would be better if they would use a litle bit more of blue colour instead All in all, I would certainly recommend this set. I must warn you though, to prepare large enough storage place, because this "giant" will not fit in many shelfs. I would like to thank Jan Beyer from LEGO CEE team for making this possible.

I think that we will go with black. @Dfenz: you said that haevier material ir recommended. I'm choosing between Hanes Tagless T-shirt and Fruit fo the Loom T-shirt . Which on would you recommend or, (if you know it) what is the difference? You didnt mention it, but I guess that it shouldn't be a problem to get also T-shirt for our 4 year old son? I looked it up and "H7200 Hanes Tagless Kid T-shirt" seems to be the right one.

Here you have official comment from LBR: ""Pick a Brick and Build a Mini are special offerings mainly from Lego Brand Retails and Legoland parks and Discovery Center. In LBR Europe, prices of those lines haven’t been adjusted since launch (prior to 2007), which costs have increased significantly That has put those lines at risk, also limiting the amount of innovation we can bring in terms of consumer experience For that reason, we have decided to adjust the prices"" It says "europe", but the reason is the same for USA.

Eurobricks Event 2014 - Who's coming by car?
Cwetqo replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'm coming with car too. It can fit five (tested at last years event ). It looks like our group has too much cars Group 1: 4 cars (Bonaparte, Rufus, Cwetqo, Dfenz) Group 2: 2 cars (Cecillie, Ecclesiastes) Group 3: 2 cars (Mechamike, Rolli) Group 4: 2 cars (Duq, L@go) +LasseD (not in any group?) So, we are still one car short? Will the groups be cummuting at different times? If not, we can rearrange at spot (like last year) We might (if possible) also make 3 groups with 15 each (3 cars) and fourth group with remainig 8 (2 cars) -

I forgot to mention that I also booked Chalet about two weeks ago for me and my family. I have one (stupid) question: are L5 Chalets still available. They dont show on LL village site and I know that EB had reservation just until new year (unfortunately at that time I did not yet have confirmation that I will get leave at work) , but if there are still some available, I would gladly swap for our L2. -

I drove the original G63. It has exaust pipes on both sides. Its called "side pipe" and you can "feel" it through the seat when you push it hard. Nice original and also very nice LEGO representation!
