Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
They've released them in the past. I've got two copies of the blue one from 2007. The drum piece exists, but hasn't been used for years. There's been one cement mixer afaik since 2007, and one other use that I know of for the drum piece - in the hopper car from the 2011 red cargo train. -
[MOC] Boston Style Dunkin Donuts with Apartments
Vilhelm22 replied to BrickfordCityFire's topic in LEGO Town
Nice! Been to Boston once, and this really captures the architectural style of the hotel I was in, and so many other buildings in the city. I miss being able to go abroad - a thing I haven't been able to do since March 2020 due to my Government's poor control of the virus.... -
Very nice! I've been to New York once, knowing people who own a whole brownstone there (they're New York lawyers), and this captures the architectural style brilliantly. I like the steps - a key part of NYC's brownstones imho - and you've got good greebling in the eaves. It really annoys me that TLG still doesn't produce panes for those 1x2x3 arched windows, and what you've used is our only option.... You would think with official sets like the modulars using them (PC, DO), they'd have created one by now rather than continuing to leave those empty like they have done in those and Tower Bridge.

Brilliant work @Berthil! I love everything about this MOC. I also think you've done a brilliant lamp post design as well - I had forgotten 123 Sesame Street came with that piece in dark green.

How to make the Amelia Earhart plane look like its flying?
Vilhelm22 replied to jonwil's topic in Special LEGO Themes
https://brickset.com/article/58075 At the end of Huw's official Brickset review of the set, he makes what he sees to be a better stand (which I agree with wholeheartedly). It certainly gives the impression it's flying. Or, conversely, you could try using these if you want the transparency: https://brickset.com/parts/6010687/plate-1x2-w-shaft-12m You probably can't hang it unless you've got accessible rafters in your ceiling, or are prepared to drill loads of holes to fit hooks in a possibly perfect ceiling. If you do chose this path, there's some good invisible thread out there.... -
Awesome! Keep up the good work!

I may be wrong, but I think these are from ministickers.nl - who certainly stock Shell stickers even if these aren't them....

Images are working perfectly fine for me. Really nice MOC - very well executed! I particularly like the house - though I'd suggest making the front steps straight rather than curved if possible.

Update: Elvis and the World Map are still both scheduled for August 2021. The World Map was at one point saying it would cost US$279.99, but has now stopped. Elvis, in contrast, had no additional information. However it now is said to be going to cost US$249.99, and will have a record breaking 11695 pieces! I realise that the vast majority will be 1x1x1/3 round plates, and these can’t all be used at once, but this is an insane price still. The PPP is twice as good as the first 4 art sets, at about 2.3 cents per piece. All info as usual from this site.
-
Ah thanks. I’ve asked a mod to terminate the other thread over in Licensed. I completely forgot about this one. I think we can confidently say that this will be a single shoe - do you think it will include a display stand of some kind? The PPP seems pretty poor judging by the Euro price...

Very nice, both exterior and interior details! Love the decals - they really finish it off!

MOC: GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall (4-Wide)
Vilhelm22 replied to CMF-1138's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Saw this almost immediately after you posted but didn't comment as I was out and on my phone. Anyway, excellently executed, and instantly recognisable MOC! I'll be honest, I'm not interested in making 4-wide MOCs myself, but ones like these show me exactly why people are, and I can understand exactly why some would be.... Congratulations on a brilliant piece of work! -
Love this! The woman angry with the construction workers making noise outside the library is brilliant!!!
-
Love it. Reminds me a bit of scenes from series 1 of that TV show called Afterlife with Ricky Gervais....
-
Those 6-wide panels are perfect for a greenhouse MOC, and as a result you've built a fantastic MOC. The attention to detail is amazing, and this would fit right in the garden of a stately home....
-
Love it! The exterior design is brilliant, and the interior reminds of many antique shops or similar round me. I feel like the wool jumper torso is also a perfect choice as the sort of person who owns those shops tends to be of that sort of generation.....
-
Awesome unique modern MOC. Would never have thought of using those myself, but now.... Excellent work!
-
Love it! I always enjoy seeing these houses with deep sloped roofs - round me they rarely exceed 45 degrees so these are quite unusual. Your choice of colour palette is also brilliant, really making it pop.
-
Seconded. It looks like a scale model train rather than a LEGO model.....
-
Very nice MOC and impressive concealing of the PF parts. Frequently there’s use of a battery box or receiver as a piece of cargo in these type builds, but clearly not here. Great work!

10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Image of the Ulysses space probe was posted on Instagram about an hour ago. I’ll be honest, I’m pretty disappointed. It’s minute, and I think it’s pretty basic too - there’s a lot of greebling that could have been done but wasn’t....- 310 replies

Very nice! The attention to detail on every part of it is amazing, and I love the inclusion of a reindeer!
-
You've definitely captured the New York feel! I've only been there once for four days in 2019, but the time I spent there involved seeing a lot of tall narrow houses like this. The huge doors and windows and the fire escape all give the big American city feel to me.

This is beautiful! It's clear you've put a lot of time and effort into every aspect!
