1. Promoting an Ideas Project? Can't be bothered to engage with the community here on Eurobricks and follow the guidelines? Post it here! That, or we will just put the post here. Fear not creators, if you follow the guidelines: - Then you are free to carry on. Anything that isn't will go here. (PS, don't mind the time travel. This is some moderator timey-wimey shenanigans)
2. Mr. Men and Little Miss books are a fond and vivid memory from my childhood. I’ve just started reading them again thanks to the Agatha Christie crossover books (e.g. Muddle at the Vicarage). If you love these characters too, please consider supporting this LEGO Ideas product. https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/dc9002f7-f513-4639-a830-184319cdf295 I've physically built the characters IRL, but as there are a few recolours, I've opted for digital renders. On a similar note, I designed the eyes and mouths to be a 50/50 combination of flat tiles (stickers) and curved slopes (prints). Best wishes, Mr. Stubot 🟥🟡🟦 More images in this Flickr album – https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCYbst
3. Hello everyone, Today, I am presenting my first 100% original MOC : SACRÉ-CŒUR, Monmartre (PARIS) This is not a modification of an existing LEGO set. This landmark needs no introduction; it is an icon of the French capital, known the world over. I chose a scale similar to that of the Notre-Dame and Neuschwanstein sets. Its dimensions are 48 x 24 x 36 cm (L x W x H). It consists of 4067 pieces (the complete inventory can be found in the instructions). Using Studio and a 3D STL model, I was able to get as close as possible to the Sacré-Cœur's actual proportions. When actually building my MOC, I used the building instructions that you can download. They have been fully verified. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-267473/Guiduvos/sacre-cur-basilica-montmartre-paris/#details I’ll let you discover it for yourselves. I hope it brings you as much joy as I had creating it!
4. So, I've been working on a project for LEGO Ideas, or at least a Stud.io MOC series: a multipack remaking the most iconic set for each LEGO constraction line with modern pieces and engineering. Thing is, I need help determining which are the most iconic sets. First, a few guidelines for what I'm looking for: Only one set/character per line - so no multipacks (the project is stacked as it is). Some criteria I believe may define a set/character as "iconic": the main or most recurring character of the franchise, the "advertisement poster boy" (i.e.: the one who is picked to represent the line or show off the gimmicks in the commercials, posters or promotional material when they can't show every set), the one that's most recognizable to non-fans (i.e.: when you talk to someone of this line, what character/set immediately pops to their mind?) or a fan-favorite set. Stick to the first year, if possible from the first wave, of each line - with one exception (more on that later). LEGO original IPs ONLY. No licensed lines. Here's what I've got so far: Slizers/Throwbots: while at first I thought Scorch/Fire or Sub/Scuba would be more appropriate, it seems Jungle/Amazon is the most recurring or focused one in promo material. RoboRiders: it seems Power is the main focus of the commercials - at least the first one they focus one before showing the other canister sets. Dinosaurs: I'm going with the Brachiosaurus for being the main focus of this commercial - also the Tyrannosaurus Rex is too similar to the System version, and a dino already repeated multiple times across Creator and Jurassic Park/World. BIONICLE (G1): no question here, it's Tahu; there's a reason "the red one" is a meme. Knights' Kingdom (II): again, no question, Jayko. He's the main character throughout the entire line, and alongside Vladek the only one to return in the final wave. Hero Factory: here's a bit of an ironic divide. Marketing or recognizability-wise it's an even split between Preston Stormer and William Furno - leaning slightly towards the latter -; popularity-wise, however, one of the villains like Von Nebula, XPlode or Corroder would be a better pick. BIONICLE (G2): and here's the exception - by the standards I've set up I'd probably pick Tahu again, but I'd rather choose something that's more unique to this continuity. So, I'm flexing a bit on the "first year/wave" rule, or breaking it altogether. As such, so far I might pick one of the Skull Villains - it seems Skull Basher or Skull Slicer are the most liked, or at least the least controversial - or Umarak the Hunter. And a few runner-ups or maybes which definitely need your opinion on whether they should be included at all: Galidor: which one is not a problem - Nick Deluxe is the go-to representation of the line, including in modern homages. The issue is whether it's a LEGO IP or a license, as I've heard conflicting accounts on that. I personally think it's an original IP, since they helped fund the show and can clearly still throw references to the line in modern sets without worrying about a lawsuit, but I'd appreciate a confirmation. Exo-Force: again the one to pick isn't the problem: the "poster boy" position is even between Hikaru and Takeshi, and the City line already modernized the Stealth Hunter, so I'm going with Grand Titan. However, the question is if it counts as a constraction line, since it's mostly a System line with minifigure characters not unlike Ninjago, Nexo Knights or Monkie Kid. Personally, I think it counts, as to me the characters' presentation is as important to define constraction as the building itself, and in that Exo-Force is much closer to contraction than System: while even licensed lines show the minifigures as the characters, the Exo-Force storyline and most promo material treats them as actual humans/robots and the minifigures as just necessary stylizations for the toys - much like Knights' Kingdom II, BIONICLE 2003-2005 or Hero Factory: Invasion From Below, where the buildable figures are the default representation of the characters and the System minifigures are just approximations at the System scale. Not to mention the articulated mechs are the central part of the line instead of just one (very popular) aspect of it. Still, I'm aware including them would open the floodgates to other mech or creature-heavy lines, so I really need your help with this one. Legends of Chima: this one has the opposite problem of Exo-Force - while there are constraction figures, they're best described as CCBS adaptations of the minifigures from a System line. Still, it's the last non-licensed CCBS line, so I wonder if it doesn't deserve to still be represented. As for my pick, it'd be either CHI Laval or CHI Cragger, as their friendship-turned-rivalry is the main driving force of season 1 and they're the only recurring characters of the CCBS subline. So, any that I missed? Any you think would be a better fit for a line? And what about the maybes?
5. UPDATE 6 September 2021 "Imperial Island Fort" has qualified for the Second 2021 LEGO Ideas Review. -------------------------- UPDATE BrickHammer's project "Imperial Island Fort" is the latest project to reach 10K supporters on LEGO Ideas. This 1,500-piece build is a remake Imperial Guard rival of 6276 Eldorado Fortress and includes 4 minifigures which makes it suitable for playing. This project.
6. Edit by Hinckley: I've changed the title of your topic. Please read the Site Guidelines as ZCerberus has detailed in the first replay, thank you. I've submitted a project on LEGO.com/Ideas. I would like to share it to you in this post. I am sorry if I post this at the wrong place in this forum. I need your help to reach 10K supports. My first goal is 100 supporters, so my project won't expire. After I reach 100, I have to reach 1K then 5K and finally 10K. What project is it? It's entitled 'The Vehicles'. Here, we have a Cement Mixer, a Recycle Truck, and a Tractor. First is the tractor. The tractor has a white color (which is unusual, actually...). What we can highlight from this vehicle is the two big back wheels and small wheels in the front. I combined the studs with the tire to create the back wheels. To make the small wheels, I use the studs and the part no. 4081. To add an exhaust detail on the tractor, I placed a stud in front of the cockpit screen (which was the transparent small sloped 1x1 brick). Second is the recycle truck. The recycle truck has a green color (I chose this color because green is the color of nature). I added the part no. 2432 at the back of the vehicle as the entrance for the trash. I also added a siren bulb at the top of the vehicle which was inspired by the The LEGO(R) Movie set - Trash Chomper. I combined studs and tires to make the wheels, just like the tractor. Third is the cement mixer. Because this is a construction vehicle, I used many Yellow parts to create this vehicle. Well, I used some grey parts to build the mixer. To pour the mixed cement, I added a part no. 4081 and a cone part and place it on the mixer. You can check it at: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/164447 I appreciate every support for my project! Thanks!
7. Hey again! It's me, Pau, and I know I've posted Magic Shop on Eurobricks before, but the pictures are all wrong, there's missing information and I just thought I'd post it properly again. Here goes nothing! Magic Shop (btw, the most awesome name a modular has ever had ) Please support Magic Shop on Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/127875. From the bottom of my heart, I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel it stopping, that's why I need your help. Rather than saying everything I've said before again, I'd much rather reflect my thoughts looking a year back. (DeLorean goes here).... I still remember the day I was building this, looks alright, definetely interiors aren't my strongest point. The detail I added on the back wall works nicely. That stained glass window is still mindblowing. Nice details throughout, nothing spectacular though. I really love the desk lamp, made from that weird piece introduced as weightlifting weights. Did you know that it wasn't until this floor was begun that I decided upon a German timbered house, the idea before that was a "glass and mirrors" sort of thingy. Great floor on the exterior, rather strange on the interior. Btw, while building this on LDD, I accidentally destroyed half of the back wall and had to be reconstructed ! The minifigs, six. Enough to populate the modular's street. Rather cool paining though. EXTRA CONTENT!! Just like there was a Mini-Modulars set, I did one for this! The "original design" included an extra floor that was just removed from the set. A very good idea in my opinion.
8. For a few months I've been hooked to the Architecture Series, being able to collect the several of the recent official sets, bricklinking others and, most of all, skimming the web for Architecture MOCs of places I've been. That's how I've came across Eiffleman's Lego Ideas entry (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/119116) with a suitably scaled Arc de Triomphe: Upon seeing it I was hellbent of recreating this landmark and luckily Eiffleman was kind enough to provide enough details to allow "easy" reverse engineering. The result, a very eye catching ~500 piece Architecture MOC with several interesting tricks up it's sleave, especially in the pedestals and the arched ceeling made of 1x1 tiles. I had a blast getting to the "how did he do it" and I'm still rounding up some edges (namely the bas-reliefs in the mid section), but I'm quite happy with the overall look I was able to recreate, even though, unfortunately, some of the pieces Eiffleman uses do not exist in the indicated pieces (namely the statues). Here are some pics of the main stages of the build: I hope some of you enjoy this Eiffleman's MOC as much as I did (and do check another Eiffleman's Arc du Triomphe, in a larger scale).
9. I started a projct on Lego Ideas and i thought i could need some more supporters. Thats why I want to present my project to you. I build with LDD a geographical World Map with different coulors for mountains, snow etc. and I added some animals, because than its more interesting and not so boring. Maybe you would like to support my idea. Here is the link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/fbda3448-e93f-479a-b737-fa1c4f6e1a9e. I would be very happy if you do so ! I hope this post is in the right forum
10. Hi everyone I have recently added my first project to Lego Ideas. I wondered can anyone offer me any advice on the best ways to promote my project? So far all I've done is created a topic about it on Eurobricks and shared some of the pictures in a few Flickr groups. Are there any other methods I could use to give my model some more exposure and gain more support? Are there any other Lego related sites that are good for showing MOC's or Lego Ideas projects? Also I don't use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram but do you think any of those would be worth a go? This is the first time I've used Lego Ideas so I'm learning as I go along. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
11. Hi everyone I have been working on a design recently which I want to add as my first entry as a Lego Ideas project. I am having problems setting up my account though. I logged in to Lego Ideas using my standard Lego ID which I set up years ago and doesn't have the same user name that I use on here or Flickr. I want them to match though so that people can easily find my project once I've added it to Ideas. Under account preferences on Lego Ideas there is an option to change the username but when I try to do this it just throws up an error message and wont let me do it. Has anyone else had problems with this and if so how did you solve it? I've emailed the Lego Ideas customer service but they haven't got back to me and I received an auto generated message basically saying that they are a small team and it might take them a long time to reply to emails. So I'm not holding my breath that I'll ever hear back from them.
12. See my entire Toy collection come to life at publicplaytime.com
13. Let's see if we can guess which one will be the next project approved on LEGO Ideas!
14. Hello guys! In the past I had tried to illuminate some of my moc with the led strips. For small buildings they did not do well. I found this solution and I'm satisfied. The set illuminated, makes beautiful home feeling. P.S: I wanted to put photos but are heavy, I have to load them outside?
15. This is my latest MOC: an Ariel Atom 500 in 1:9 scale! Technically it isn't a true scale model since I didn't use exact dimensions (I just build what I think looks best), but size-wise it's about 1:9. The real car is the fastest ever variant of the Ariel Atom, a street-legal car built for track racing. Released in 2008, the Atom 500 features a 3-litre transverse-mounted V8 made from two motorbike engines. It produces 500 horsepower (hence the name) and redlines at a rather insane 10,500 RPM. Other modifications include massive wings and the gold-painted exoskeleton. The car weighs only 550kg, giving it a power:weight ratio of over 900hp/tonne (higher than anything short of a Koenigsegg) - It recorded a 0-60mph time of just 2.3 seconds and could reach 200mph. It was the fastest road-legal car around the Top Gear Test Track for over two years. That record lap was on damp tarmac - had the track been dry, it would probably still be at the top. Only 25 of these cars were made, selling for around £200,000 each. My model features: Remote control drive and steering with Power Functions - 1 XL motor for drive and 1 M motor for steering 4-speed sequential gearbox operated with paddle-shifters Working steering wheel Full independent suspension with longitundinally-mounted shock absorbers Steering has zero scrub radius V8 engine replica with moving pistons The zero-scrub radius was a new idea for me. When playing around with suspension linkages, I discovered that mounting the links in a certain way would cause all four to move when turning (rather than just the steering link). The center of steering was further outwards, almost exactly in the middle of the wheels (I think it's where the suspension links would intersect when extended, but I'm not sure of this). The geometry I chose works almost perfectly for 68.8x36 ZR tyres on 56mm rims. Here's a picture of the steering links in their two extreme positions superimposed - the point where the wheel shafts intersect is the center of steering: The suspension is standard double-wishbone in the rear, but with a sideways lever converting the upwards motion of the suspension into longitudinal movement of the shock absorber: The transverse V8 was very difficult to fit in because it has even dimensions and the rest of the chassis has odd dimensions. It is connected directly to the XL motor The interior (or as close as you can get to an interior in an Atom) features two racing-style seats, a steering wheel and paddle shifters: The aesthetics were rather difficult at times. The framwork was very difficult even with the 42055 yellow parts (in fact, getting that set is the reason why I built this model), and at times I had to use some tricks. For example, the rear framework looks like it has two beams crossing in an X-formation when in fact the left and right halves of the "X" are two separate structures: I also replicated the exhaust pipes and gigantic rear wing. One of my favourite parts of the model is the side intake and its red stripe: The PF IR receiver is disguised as the air intake and roll hoop: For more pictures of the car, see my video below. Music is composed by me as well: This project is also on LEGO Ideas! I know the success rate is extremely low for such projects, but it would be amazing if this set because a reality! Please support my project here. Any support is much appreciated.
16. Not sure which board to be posting this guy on, but here's a Lego homage to one of my PBS heroes, The Joy of Painting's Bob Ross!
17. Hi everyone. I have just summited this Donkey Kong on Lego Ideas few days ago. I have showed many photos about my Donkey Kong Lego Ideas on the following links. Check it out. Many thanks. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/170419
18. Hello all. This is my first project on ideas.lego.com. I'll be happy if you take a look at it. Best regards. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/176070
19. HEY All, LEGO We are two flourishing LEGO FANS who have decided to dedicate our Thesis research to an extensive study of the LEGO user's impressions on the LEGO Ideas platform and the fan contribution to TLG - basically on all of you!! SO, we would like to ask you 4 brief questions, which will be used as qualitative data in our thesis.1. How and why has the LEGO Ideas changed your perception of TLG?2. What would it take for you to feel alienated by LEGO in terms of their new ideas for co-creation? Or can LEGO do no wrong when it comes to creating with fans? 3. Would you say that LEGO co-creating with fans have made you more loyal to the brand? How? 4. Did the Lego Ideas Test Lab influence your perception of TLG? THANK YOU for any comments and responses!AND if ANY of you would like to help us even more - we would like to set up a skype-chat / informal interview with you, it will take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time It would be greatly appreciated!!
20. SUPER MARIO BROS. I created this medium sized creation because...hmm... not much to say here... Just sweet childhood memories :) thanks a lot! Gunman
21. UPDATES: After I uploaded it to Flickr, I noticed there where some things missing, like side-mirrors and some details at the front, so I made some changes. Information: This car was built using Lego Creator style techniques, it has a lot of details and funcionality, like the opening doors and the detailed engine, to see more pictures you can go to my Flickr. Lego Ideas: This car is available to support on Lego Ideas, so if you like this, click here. Thanks for stopping by, -Marco. Qm
22. hi Guys, have a look to my creation, do you have any suggestoin on how to get it better? btw it is a lego ideas project: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/161724
23. Old Ben's Gallery is my take on taking Pet Shop's concept to the max. (Loosely) based on Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló in Barcelona. Includes exactly 3000 bricks, quite funny.... If you feel like it's worth it, support it on Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/163149 It's even hard to know where to look here! There's stuff everywhere! To save space, notice how the staircase goes through the outside. Second floor. Quite cosy, not much to showcase though, appart from that beautiful painting made out of custom prints. Detail of the two very different but complimentary roofs. The five minifigures. Close-ups of porcelain table, hat-hanger, painter painting MS, IV & TIH, painting, mini models... Together with Italian Villa and The Iron Horse! Together with Magic Shop! Along with Assembly Square, they're quite complimentary, I think!
24. make a model only using parts from 60043. this is what i made. show me what you came up with in the commentsection
25. Seriously, I mean it. Too often now it seems like they're more interested in original ideas, whereas I couldn't care less about a LEGO maze or LEGO Exo-Suit. Sets based on TV and film are more interesting because we are familiar with them - sets like Agents of SHIELD: The Bus, for instance. I mean, just look at how great this build is: ...and the minifigures are great: If it's too big, then reduce the size. If there's too many minifigures, reduce the number of them. There's solutions to any potential problems this set might have.
