  1. I fully agree with this - I found that sort of voice annoying at age 8 for goodness’ sake... My favourite part of Legoland as a child was (and still is) Miniland. I would have been happy to see those sorts of buildings in LEGO CON...
  2. If they call it Foosball in the U.K. I’m gonna have some words to say... Literally nobody in the U.K. says foosball - it’s always table football - so I hope we get name adjustments even among English speaking countries (though I’m not aware of this happening before).
  3. Though not yet available in blue, that looks perfect! I think it’s in a couple of creator 3 in 1 sets and that’s basically it... This is now looking like a really well polished, high class MOC - excellent work!
  4. I think any subway would probably be an iconic one like the London Underground. The best would be the 1972 stock of the Bakerloo Line in my opinion, having travelled on all the Tube lines at some point in my life. I will not deny that I am biased in that I see Tube trains practically every day, but as far as I know London has about the most iconic subway in the world (which isn’t ever referred to as a subway by anybody British!)
  5. For the fire station - I’d personally go old style, as it’s what I generally like most. For the 16x32 baseplate, I’d agree with @Stuartn sand green is good, or another less bright colour like sand blue or similar. I think it shouldn’t be incredibly bright, but it ought to stand out against the pub and fire station (which if old style would be pretty similar colours). Something small like a dodgy nightclub next to the pub would suit the slot I think...
  6. I understand your reasoning and it makes perfect sense - though you’ll need to be more careful with driving trains or integrate sensors to stop it at the ends. If I were you though, as it’s now just a straight line, in the same way ‘enclosing’ the city isn’t great, it’s now kind of sidelined (pun intended) - maybe try to integrate it a bit more centrally? I’d also probably put in just 1 curve for a bit of interest... Loops do exist in real life trains, though I will concede that they are very uncommon. The two I can think of off the top of my head are the elevated loop in Chicago, and of course London’s Circle Line prior to the Edgware Road-Hammersmith extension. They have the advantage in Lego that you can have a constantly running train which looks good and doesn’t need constant attention. For more inspiration on the single line idea, I’d check out LNUR’s Ambridge and Paxley layout, the only other of this kind I’m aware of. Lastly - I’m not a moderator but I generally hang out in the Train Tech forum and you’ll probably get more answers there - you might want to ask a mod to move this topic to there... Concluding this unintentionally-essay-length answer, kind regards, Vilhelm22
  7. Yes - a revamp of 7633 would be high on my list. I’d also like a new 7632 and a new 7905.
  8. Well it’s had the official press release - can’t say I’m a huge fan but never really wanted a shoe made out of Lego myself... However I like the fact that they include the parts to build either a left or a right shoe. £79.99 is the UK price.
  9. I'm still waiting for a D2C Hogwarts Express at some point in the future...
  10. Very nice unique idea! Lego doesn’t generally allow for subterranean models at least in the ‘real life’ lines... I’m supporter number 7200 - 2800 more to 10K!
  11. Yes - I forgot that rather important detail
  12. Teaser picture just been published by Lego... It’s on Brickset too.
  13. True, but as you say it’s it’s own thing. Look at it this way: is the winter holiday train a winter village set OR a train if you had to choose one. Vast majority would say winter village I reckon. I’m not saying you’re wrong but it’s considered it’s own thing really and not part of the expert trains line. If you look on Brickset it’s under Winter Village not Trains.
  14. ^ This. I also thing that its success will make chances of another expert train in the near future likely rather than the 7 year gap last time. I unfortunately at this point do not expect one until 2022, but after all there was a 2 year gap between EN/Maersk and Maersk/HE... I also think we will eventually get an expert style Hogwarts Express...
  15. Very nice! It looks excellent in real bricks - the renders are never quite up to the mark (though I know that's by no means your fault). Every time I see MOW in one of your posts I think of 'man of war' instead, so get very confused before remembering it's maintenance of way here! Those vehicles look good too - I particularly like the rail mobile. In my dreams I would have a real one of those...
  16. @MartyMcFly We've had September releases before such as the London Bus in 2017. The rumour is this will be released then....
  17. He says 10291 is an entertainment IP, possibly related to Boost, costing US99.99. I'd take out 10285-7 from your list there, as those are 2009-11 Mindstorms parts, counted as individual sets as they could be bought in that way. I think of the remaining 4 (10279, 10288, 10292, 10293) one will be a fairground set judging by the pattern of 2 years with a set, then one without. I still have my hopes up for another train at some point - I was hoping the release of 10277 last year was a sign of the return of LEGO trains for more advanced builders... The most recent LEGO CON update listed the event schedule - a new set announcement. It's still possible that we'll find out more on June 26th...
  18. Recent post on jjp’s insta story says it’s possibly related to BOOST
  19. Very impressive! Also - this thread is only a year old, and you’re providing an update to your own MOC. That’s completely justified - it’s asking a question answered many times, in an old thread (3+ years without any comments imho) that people tend to have a problem with. This is a beautiful MOC that you should be really proud of, and due to my EB inactivity in the first half of 2020 I didn’t see this the first time around so it’s nice to see it now! Having seen the 6 wide version in the hidden section, I can say that you did a brilliant job on that - but this looks even better! From a little bit of digital building myself I have also found 8 wide to be a more preferable scale, and this is evidenced in this MOC. One of the biggest advantages in my opinion is the ability to have two parallel seats in which to put minifigures. It does make for very long coaches though - a MOC of mine is of 85ft coaches which translates to 67 studs at 1:48. How long are these? Again, excellent work and good luck creating it in real bricks!
  20. No I don’t think so. However according to different rumours before the 630 dollar leak, it was either August or September. Don’t count on that though.
  21. It’s a fair question of which I’m not sure the answer. I think the best comparison you can make is to the Maersk ship and the various Creator Expert aircraft over the years, and also probably to buildings as well. What I can confidently say is that royalties won’t be as high as on Star Wars, which I believe has the highest of any licensed LEGO theme... I’d say more around the 10000 pieces mark. Colosseum is 80 dollars less and 9036 pieces.... Dunno where they go though. On the other hand it could include expensive lights which there has been discussion about elsewhere (look up Lego Night Mode for more info) which could significantly up the price.
  22. Yeah I’m in a very similar position to you. The Colosseum is I think US$550 and £450, so my guess would be £500. Guess they wanted to outdo their Titanic competitor... I wonder how it will be in terms of length compared to say Tower Bridge (102cm). $630 is a huge amount.
  23. Just asking is there a stud.io download for these parts? I'm considering buying for a model of a the DB E69 02, but would like to try and build it digitally first.
  24. Um.... The 26th June announcement is apparently ’LEGO CON’... So not lights.
