I love the Galaxy Explorer (on the asteroid cartridge and poster) and Johnny Thunder (poster) stickers. I just wish the poster's were printed!

Sorry moderators for the year-and-change bump, but I've added two new vehicles models along with all-new photos of everything! First post updated completely as of now, but here's some more info about the inspection car you won't find up there! This model was heavily modified from 2022 Gift With Purchase set 40532 (Vintage Taxi) into a track inspection vehicle for my already-built MOW depot. I had to remove the chassis plate + a whole layer of plates to add in the Big Ben Bricks XS train wheels. The vehicle can sit two figs, and a suitcase behind the rear seat rest. Thoughts on this update (and the models themselves, of course!) are always appreciated!

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm jumping up and down "screaming" over this, as "It's Beautiful!" news, and "I want to know everything!" about these sets. LEGO "chose wisely" with picking this theme back up... I'm surprised they didn't do so sooner! (Think this comment covers all the films' famous lines.) -
I still need to take many, many more pictures, but now that I've run out of printed logo slope parts I can finally do so. Yes, you read that right: I've finished everything I planned - and didn't plan - with this custom theme. Why don't I order more logos from BrickLink, you ask? The answer is surprisingly simple: the sellers on Bricklink can't seem to tell 2014 and 2018 CITY Arctic logo apart. There is a difference, but I order one and get the other... it's sad but true, and has already happened twice from two separate sellers. ...Anyway, until I can get the individual pictures taken and uploaded, these two collective pictures are all I can do. Here is the base itself, which comes apart modular-style into about 10 sections and is based off the 2014 CITY Arctic line. I also have two non-motorized trains that go with this theme, one being a short freight and one passenger with two sets of conjoined-twin cars. In addition to the two trains, 1950’s orange Studebaker, and Arctic Ice Slicer MOD previously seen in the previous picture of the base itself, I also have: - ice drilling truck, - heavy duty truck + mobile laboratory - pick-up truck - x2 heavily modified Snow Speeders - x2 LEGO Universe-style rockets - a snowmobile - a large robot - Benny's spaceship MOD into orange / white with an elongated nose cone-area I'll keep you all updated in this thread if I come up with anything new / add new pictures in the future. Thoughts?

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Notice @NovaBricks didn't say thing against a $600 Jokermobile! NOTE: this link is to wikipedia article on the subject. Nothing special... (I didn't meant to scare anyone if I did!) -
Slight update to train shed as of 7/14/22: The 3D printed half-track pieces I bought didn't want to attach to the baseplate properly, so they have been removed. Also, the 8x16 bricks were hitting the side-rods of the steam locomotives, so they were replaced with a multitude of 6x8 plates to lower the platform to a height where they wouldn't collide.
-
It could be 30 individual segments, and all the pins are put in a separate bag.
-
I could be wrong, but I thought once orders for Bricks and Pieces (or whatever it is now) are started, you can't cancel it because it's "in progress"? If you've already bought the parts, then it might be too late to change it...

The future of Back to the Future
Murdoch17 replied to 1980-Something-Space-Guy's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great Scott! Lego apparently has made a US trademark / patent application for "Brick to the Future" as a logo in the BttF font. News article here at Jay's Brick Blog. I wonder why they did that? -
I recently found out the Top Hat Tom fig's torso from the 2021 CITY Advent calendar (set 60603) works out very nicely for a modern Dr. Kilroy, whereas nearly the whole Safari tourist woman from 2020 set 60267 (Safari Off-Roader) works wonders for a modern Ms. Reed. (I only added the hair) Johnny is the stock CMF fig, minus the backpack and with his 'outback'-style hat back in it's rightful place on his head!

Thanks for the compliment on Conjunction Junction @zephyr1934! I actually built the dispatch office too. I've made some changes to the original cartoon design, such as adding a heater / stove pipe to the building and placing a water tower nearby (inspired by a build from a user who sadly deleted all his photos.) for thirsty steam locomotives. The tower top rotates a full 360 degrees with the water pipe, allowing the engineer to pull up, get his loco full of (imaginary) water, shove the pipe away, and move on. Also, there is a dilapidated boxcar behind the water tower for the Junction's two resident hobos. Inside the openable building is a typical furniture for the 1930-'50's time period which I think the cartoon takes place in. This includes: - corner desk with telephone, a railroad oil can, lantern, plus two chairs - oil fired heater / stove - time clock next to a day-at-a-time calendar showcasing a exotic locale - potted plant, just because! Thank you for you kind words @Paperinik77pk! Sadly, I had to change out the Pacific as the Sava-inspired 4-6-2 wouldn't fit in my train shed as it was too long for the stall. So, I slapped a new boiler (identical to the style used on the 4-6-2 Pacific) on my older set 7597-style 2-6-0 and thus this Sava-style 2-6-0 was created. As for the 2-8-0, I removed the walkways on that locomotive to make it better match the 2-6-0. I found all but six dark gray slipper-slope parts to convert the 2-6-0 to the new style whereas the 2-8-0 needs 58 more parts to be finished. Thoughts?

Not many really comment on my stuff either. Don't be discouraged, you kinda have to look at view counts to see how popular the topic is. This topic currently has 296 views, which is better than a few of mine!

Of all shown below, credit is due to Zephyr1934, SavatheAggie, and TJJohn12 for making awesome models / instructions that helped me with this. Below you will see breakdowns of all these trains. Conjunction Junction, Katy Caboose, and 2-8-0 "Consolidation" This 2-8-0 engine pulls the Conjunction Jct. freight train along with Katy Caboose, who brings up the train's rear. In 2010, I bought instructions for @SavaTheAggie's "2-8-0 Consolidation" six-wide steam locomotive from Bricklink. I never really used them beyond learning techniques for useful building steam engines that could actually take curves - unlike my own late 2009 4-4-0 MOC that worked well only on straight track! You can see Sava's original 2-8-0 model here (in red / yellow with oil tender) at his new-ish online home for his awesome instructions. Both sets of instructions were dusted off recently, and I used the boiler design for this loco seen here. I had to shorten the engine to make it fit in a three and a half track space, otherwise the original cab and other items would be here. (Basically, all that remains from those instructions is the boiler.) The tender is smaller than the one Sava used, but it must fit inside the loco shed I'm building. The first two (NOT + THIS) are obviously Boxcars. The BUT tanker (most likely hauling Butane) and THAT boxcar. Next up, AND (which is possibly a refrigerated goods wagon) plus an OR (ore) hopper. Heavily inspired by a @zephyr1934 MOC of "Katy" from the classic children's book "The Caboose who got Loose" by ex-Disney animator Bill Peet. Zephyr's version can be seen here, from which mine was reverse-engineered via pictures. Emerald Express and 2-6-0 "Mogul" This 2-6-0 engine pulls my Emerald Express heavyweight passenger train. I had to change out the Pacific as the Sava-inspired 4-6-2 wouldn't fit in my train shed as it was too long for the stall. The tender is the same one I used before on my newer 4-4-0's and 2-6-0's and is identical to the 2-8-0's as well. This combination baggage and passenger car (known as a combine) relies heavily on techniques taken from the Disney Retlaw baggage car MOC instructions by @TJJohn12. The two identical day coaches have inset doors I designed myself. The observation car of the Emerald Express. The rear deck isn't the best, but it works using the parts available in dark green... a not too common color in some brick varieties! 4-8-2 "Mountain" Eight years ago, I bought instructions from @SavaTheAggie's Bricklink shop (back when you could sell custom instructions on the site) for a green 4-6-2 'Pacific' type steam loco. I never really used them, up until now. I added a more modern frame, smaller wheels, pistons and my own tender. I also added 2 more driving wheels to make it into a 4-8-2 Mountain-type steam loco. All that remains from those instructions is the boiler and basic 7-wide cab "look". (I also obviously changed the color to be mostly red.) You can see Sava's original model here (in regular green with oil tender), at his new-ish online home for his awesome instructions. The tender is basically the same one I used before on my newer 4-4-0's, 2-8-0, and 2-6-0, although it's been stretched two studs for this loco. It's actually not much smaller than the original one Sava built for his Pacific. The cab controls. As you may have noticed, I'm using parts stolen from my 'Haunted Engine' project all over this engine as it wasn't exciting me that much anymore and I was running into issues with finding parts. NOTES: 2-8-0 and 2-6-0 Models completed as of 7/19/22. Two orders down, two to go! (The rest of the parts are coming today / tomorrow.) I will update this thread when it's done as soon as I can. Thoughts?

Well, I just ordered four of the non-spoked variety in black for use with an 1930's inspection car made from the instructions of set number 40532. (Vintage Taxi) (yes, I know the model is missing quite a few parts not in LDD... they will be there when the model is finished IRL in the next week or so.) The XS wheels are slightly smaller than the standard size wheels shown on the model, but it should still work with them... I hope. I'll report back with pictures of the wheels and such when I get them, and I'll probably make a thread for the vehicle too at some point.
-
Sorry for the slight bump, but Big Ben Bricks has made not one, but TWO new wheels in size 4, XS, which you can see by scrolling to the bottom of his product page or currently featured first on the home page. One has spokes and needs five long axles to work, while the other is a "solid" variant that works with either five or six long axles. Anybody use these yet? They've been available for sale since March 5th of this year...

This railway engine shed was mostly inspired by user @lightningtiger, who designed the basic Technic frame on his own smaller shed for his town in 2018, and I ran with the technique to create this wooden western-style steam locomotive shed in June 2022. It is also slightly inspired by by the shed used to store the replica Union Pacific "119" and Central Pacific "Jupiter" 4-4-0 steam locomotive's over at the Golden Spike National Historic Park. (link is to Wikipedia article on the site) located at Promontory Summit, Utah. The shed is 3 1/2 tracks long with a total of 56 studs from back wall to the leading edge of the baseplate, with injection molded 1/2 track pieces from Bricktracks used in the MOC. The building also features a cow skull on the front between the locomotive stalls, just to give it that Wild West flair. The model quite neatly fits both 4-4-0's I made that were inspired by set 7597. You can see the real world photos of the engines and more in this thread here. (sorry for the digital-only picture like this, but I can't get the roof off to take it in real life!) The rear of the shed features a personnel door for workers. The roof of the shed is not removable, but it can fold open a very small amount bit on clips on either side. (maybe a quarter of an inch at most?) I took the wood hutch from set 76428 (Hagrid's Hut - An Unexpected Visit) with the water tower design my dad made in he 1990's and a generic coal bin to make this refueling depot for my wild west steam locos. I also added a bathing mini-figure to the top of the tower (Petticoat Junction-style) and removed the sand green from the wood hutch roof. Another view from the opposite angle. ....And that's all I have! As usual, comments, complaints, and suggestions on this model welcome! EDIT: Main post updated with real world pictures of refueling depot as of 5/8/24!

Order up: double-blended mint-Grogu shake, extra-light foam, double Yoda-gurt shot, hold the Fett, with a cherry on top, in a Beskar mug. Again, "Moff Gideon" your order is ready!
-
Not my best picture, but the best of those taken... it was 98 degrees out there without the intense humidity, and the sun was in my eyes. (hence my squinting!) Photo taken by my dad with my camera phone of me, the real HT Pott towboat and my model of said vessel at National Museum of Transportation, in St Louis, Missouri.

Those goats look awesome. I also agree with @TeriXeri on the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship horse build being a good starting point. Off topic, slightly: I saw this thread's title and started hearing (in my head) Mick Jagger singing "Brickbuilt Horses". Chances are, you now are too.
