Thank you for the compliment @icm... and don't worry, I won't pull the emergency brake on your pun-making. I've got my copy of 10497, and now comes the hard part - deciding which model to make!

NewElementary is doing a space parts fest featuring a host of CS (and Neo-CS!) parts, if anyone's interested. They'll be posting one article for one of the festival-goers starting next Thursday, every Thursday until they run out of the seven MOC maker's. Check out the article I linked to find out what parts are included.

@icm I am super jealous of your CS space fleets - both old and new!

I'm gonna get crucified for this: I, actually enjoyed the Galidor TV show (most* of the toys sucked badly to me, though) and was sad it was cancelled. I didn't understand at the time it was considered campy and had over-the-top acting. Then again, Batman '66 has just about the same levels of both those elements at the time it was released, (Sorry Bat-fans!) and it's considered a classic and an era-defining series. So, maybe given another 15 years, it will get it's due with a reboot as a mini-figure based theme and an animated TV show. (like Ninjago) *I did like the main bad guy set, though, and had him put together for a long time. When Makuta Icarax was purchased in the summer of '08, I used the Mask of Shadows on him by using technic connector for a head... it didn't look very good aesthetic-wise, but it did look rather sinister. (I wish I had pictures!)

Thanks @danth! It just might be feasible to do that, but I don't know for sure. If I did, I'd probably change the gray wings to white, blue body to orange, engine color to trans-orange, and canopy colors to trans-black. The printed cockpit parts will need replacement, the logo slope will need adding, etc. The real question is: which VERSION of 10497 would I build? Basically: maybe someday! As of today, all my Nexus Force figs are assembled together at long last.

Statler: I still don't understand how we got drafted into this space army as drill sergeants! Waldorf: We didn't, we volunteered! S: Why would we do that? W: Everyone knows drill sergeants berate people! We're a perfect fit! S: I'm still gonna miss our old place in the theatre box... W: Why's that? Do you actually miss the Muppet Show?!? S: No, it's because I left my wallet in my seat! S + W: DOH! HO! HO! (More parts arrived yesterday for several things, and I thought I'd have fun with them! Still need to find two pairs of orange legs when I get home, as I've been stuck at my moms for a week now due to water damage.)

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

As stated above, WB (apparently) doesn't even know... and it's their franchise. -
"Billund, Legoland Base here, the Galaxy Explorer has landed." In other words, my pre-order copy of 10497 - Galaxy Explorer arrived today. However, it will not be built until late December as it's a Christmas present from my parents to me. I'm honestly not sure if I'm gonna make either of the alt-models or main model yet. Only time will tell...

Like this guy from 80109 (Lunar New Year Ice Festival) @woodford86? They keep giving us tidbits and throwbacks (Ninjago City "ice planet ice cream parlor"), but no revival. This is kind of like how Blacktron III has been teased in back in 2009 with Rench from SPIII, plus the CMF's space villain from 2011 and evil mech from 2013... I guess these later themes are just too splintered compared to CS. Comparatively speaking, the amount of Ice Planet MOCS or even to Blacktron (of any type), to Classic Space MOCs is currently slanted towards the classic era. Revamp sets are due to those kids who grew up with the originals having kids of their own, Otherwise, the new Galaxy Explorer would be Deep Freeze Defender 2.0, or something. Give it ten to fifteen more years, for the pendulum to swing to 90's themes. (Maybe for the 100th anniversary?)

Here we see eight suits, 16 (new!) helmets and six pants for more Nexus Force troopers. I had managed to find a BrickLink store selling the all the figure parts I needed for these Nexus Force troops, plus the blue helmets... everything, that is but heads with printed googles. I already have a style I'm using for the eight I already own from 2014, so I tacked some onto a second order that hasn't arrived yet. All in all, my forces on the layout (whenever I get that re-set up due to water damage issues in my condo) will be: - 16 soldier figures - 1 orange mini-fig robot (from Galaxy Squad) - 1 train engineer - 2 scientists - 1 Bob (from Lego Universe) - 2 astromech droids - 1 mid-size robot (heavy set 31090 MOD)

This gothic-style building is inspired by 2011 Harry Potter set 10217 - Diagon Alley, specifically the Borgin and Burkes shop. There are also two heavily modified versions of the gangster car from Shanghai Chase set 7682, now being used as identical police cars, while the 1930's officer torso's are from the recent modular police station. This building will serve as my town's 1930's-set police station. It was heavily expanded from it's original form to have a second story and back wall. It also has hinges (like in the old Medieval Market Village - set 10193) to allow for it to open up to 90 degrees to access the detailed inside. The building's design also features a tower, three fireplaces on one chimney flue, and staircase to the upper floor. (Sadly, the attic has no room for any staircase leading to it.) The front half of the building's exterior, with the imposing public entrance based of Borgin and Burkes from the 2011 Diagon Alley set. This model will serve as my police station on my town, and as such has a jail cell, "wanted" board, and two desks in the front half alone. The rear half of the building's exterior, with officer entryway and a roof-mounted bat signal. Why have that, when the model is not set in Gotham City? Because Batman! The back half has the other portion of the jail cell and a weapons storage area for officers Photography equipment is also located on this section for documenting suspects. There is also a breakaway exterior wall section to bust the bad guys out of the cell! "Calling all cars! Calling all cars! Silent alarm at the First National Bank of Legoland, suspected robbery in progress. Bat-signal has been activated. I repeat, Bat-signal has been activated, over!" ...What do you guys think? Comments, questions, and suggestions are always welcome!

I answered Question 1 with 8781 - Castle of Morcia, because I wanted it as a kid. I also answered 6091 - King Leo's Castle for Question 4(?) for the same reason. I was straddling the gap between the two sets: I was "too young" (5) for 6091 in 2000, but "too old" for 8781 in 2004, four years later. (I did love the knight constraction sets, though... Wave 1 Danju was always my favorite, followed very closely by Wave 1 Vladek.) Question 5 was also answered in the affirmative. Anyway, I can't wait for somebody to make a semi-dilapidated 19th / 20th century MOD-version of this newest castle as ruins. (It would look good on a train layout with European / UK steam locomotives passing by it.)

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Why a platypus? They don't do much, you know... unless it's got a hat, of course! (I'll see myself out) -
I can see it now: Minifigure Children: "What's the way to Dreamland?" Wise old hermit man: "There are three ways: 1) Take the first star to the right and go onto till morning. However, that star is aprrox. 4.37 light years from earth, so you'll be very much dead of old age by the time you reach it by less than lightspeed travel." Disheartened Children: "...and the second?" old Hermit: 2) "Take the Yellow Brick road straight there. To reach the start of the road, you need to survive an F5 tornado going over the rainbow, which is incredibly unlikely that you won't get shredded by additional tornado debris first." Depressed children: "What about the third?" crazy old hermit dude: "3) Prick your finger on a spinning wheel after being cast a sleeping spell on by a witch. Here, I have Maleficent on speed-dial and the spinning wheel is over there." Enthusiastic children: "Call her then!" MUCH LATER Hermit: "I should have warned them about the 'only true love's kiss can you wake up-thing', because they both are asleep!"

We are now one step closer to Star Trek, folks. They have these elevators in the shows, even the original and subsequent films. (Now we just need to have somebody make a warp drive from an old ICBM) Anyway, love the use of the roller coaster tracks usage!

I, for one, think a moose would be awesome... we already have a Squirrel, so why not a Moose? side note: can the new squirrel fit an aviator cap on it's head? Asking for a friend...

[MOC] Union Pacific Big Boy 4014, free building instructions
Murdoch17 replied to Berthil's topic in LEGO Train Tech
@Berthil: The engine pulls two identical water tanks in addition to it's tender, since water towers are long gone. They fill up when they can and try not to use too much up in-between stops... they have to get local fire trucks / hydrants to refill them usually, and then add certain chemicals to soften it / remove impurities. Granted, they can't refill both yellow tanks at the same stop - some towns can't handle that much water loss at once! Don't know about the diesel... that's not my area / era of expertise!- 50 replies

2. The Staring Portrait (the one with the eye) 13. Dumbledore's empty chair (There were more posted on Brickset in a commennt, but I can't find the post now.) -
The Nintendo Switch will most likely have to wait until 2047 for it's 30th Anniversary, as it just came out in 2017. This Atari set is celebrating the 1980's with that decade ending 30+ years ago. As for the Super Nintendo it is more likely to be made.... but not by much. It came out in the very early 1990's, yes. However, it's not as memorable as, say, the NES or Atari 2600, Play Station 1, or even Sega Genesis. I had actually never heard of a Super Nintendo before, and had to research it for this post... but that's not saying much, as I don't usually play video games. (Can't find one I like)

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I wonder if Pontimus is actually Pontius Pilate, as in the historical / Biblical Roman governor of Judaea during the (supposed) time of Jesus Christ? If my theory is correct we may end up with something like "Indiana Jones and The Greatest Story Ever Told"... but with time travel and Nazis. -
You wouldn't have Sony Play Station (any of them), Sega Genesis, or the NES, without the Atari 2600. My dad got his while he was in college (I think). He's still got it, and he's pretty excited.
