Any recommendations for purchasing certain types of brick in bulks?
1963maniac replied to Ayoung's topic in Community
Ebay sells a lot of bulk bricks and Amazon. You could also consider Lego replacement bricks. What about Brickowl? -
Mecanum Wheels
1963maniac replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I just found these mecanum wheels again. I saw Yoshihito Isogawa's. At :28 you can see how they are made. These appear to be simple enough and work well. I will try them. But, I will have to order some parts. In the mean time here is a BI for this wheel by Yoshihito Isogawa: https://bricksafe.com/files/1963maniac/Mecanum Wheel Isogawa.pdf This is now an updated file!! -

Be prepared for that to consume a lot of battery power. -
RC Buggy Motor

I also found a version with a "four wire" lead and connector on the motor instead of a "two wire" lead. I hope that makes sence. https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20190622043026&SearchText=Lego+compatible+buggy+motor+88003.&switch_new_app=y -

Could you post this video so everyone can see it? When you say crashes you mean it simply closes? Whenever you change a setting, it seems to be changing all of that setting change that is in the file you are working on. So, maybe your PC can't handle it. How large is your file? That particular version may have issues. There are newer versions. I would download a newer version and try it. ( go to sourceforge from LPUB3D) I also have 64 bit windows 10. I'm using LPub3D-2.3.11.0.1269_20190517. The only issue I'm having is that the divider lines don't locate correctly. If a newer version still has issues,... There may be something bad running on your other PC that crashes. Run MRT (malware removal tool) by Microsoft and run Windows Defender, and all of your security software on it.

MLCad - adding map?

Learn the words that are used to describe the parts you are looking for. OR, Create your own part tree leaving out those parts you aren't interested in. Here are a couple pages from the Holly-Wood.it tutorial that may help you create your own "favorites" parts tree in MLCAD. http://www.holly-wood.it/mlcad/basic4-en.html http://www.holly-wood.it/mlcad/advanced5-en.html I found this too. http://thehighproglow.blogspot.com/2014/04/mlcad-340-and-parts-tree-favorites.html -
MPD file to LXF conversion
1963maniac replied to Hoth Rebel's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You may have some other problems. Stud.io never has a problem opening LDRs or MPDs for me, Make sure you have the latest edition of Stud.io. Could you post the MPD here so we can take a look at the code? -
MPD file to LXF conversion
1963maniac replied to Hoth Rebel's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have been successful simply re-naming the file from XXX.mpd to XXX.ldr Have you seen this? https://wiki.ldraw.org/wiki/LDraw_to_LDD_conversion BTW, Stud.io will convert to LDRAW (for future reference). -
Attika, I go to Florida for 2 months and you do this. I did a search and I just found this. BTW, folks I'm working on Attika's BI right now. He's kept me busy doing some other ones. You'll be seeing it soon guys.

FYI, LDD is no longer supported by Lego. You should switch to something newer like LDCAD or Stud.io. They are both free and being updated and improved several times per year. LDCAD is great for flexible parts and Stud.io has the ability to make renders and convert files to/from other formats. For making building instructions LPUB3D is your software, your files just have to be in LDRAW format. This can be done by Stud.io. LPUB3D is also free to use. There are many good tutorials too.

[GBC] Need some help please

Just a thought, change the balance so that it only takes one ball to trip the mechanism. KISS= Keep It Simple Sweetie. -
But, the Lego rigid tubing is 3mm not 4mm. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=528&itemBrand=1000 There are many examples of this "hose" being used with pneumatic flexible tubing (hose).

Mi Robot Builder
1963maniac replied to XG BC's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
How much $ is it? Is it compatible with Lego. Can I buy just special components? -
This has now been redesigned, built and works well. I kind of quickly put this idea together last night. Maybe you can use it on your model. It might be too long when retracted to fit in your MOC. But then just locate it lower in the model. I have not been able to actually build and try this because I don't own any part # 61905 actuator motor mount. In theory they should all extend and retract together. If someone could build this and let me know, I'd be very grateful. Here is the BI file: https://bricksafe.com/files/1963maniac/QUAD Actuator Mechanism.pdf

I agree with you Lego David. But, those who collect them make the values go up. Plus if you resell your sets at some point in the future, those minifigures are necessary.

Selling a very large collection all at once.
1963maniac replied to Echo's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Most buyers want to know what they are getting. What sets are there, how complete the sets are, condition, etc. When it's not well organized as to what is being sold, they go pretty cheap. I observe Lego buyers to want to be well informed. You may want to take the time and effort to aquire that information. If you are selling as sets and they are not complete or condition is not good, it may not matter. They will sell for cheaper prices. But, bulk legos go really cheap. If you can reassemble the sets and they are 90%-99%, they will realize more money. A few year ago, I sorted and cleaned about 20,000-25,000 parts and put them back into sets. They are now worth a heck of a lot more $$$. Amazing is none of them were less than 99% complete. Started collecting in the 1960s. -
Exactly right, sorry about that. Do consider that M motor. I've been able to make them work for me too.
