Try adding some weight to increase traction.

One thing you can do after the picture is taken is edit it to increase the contrast. You can take the picture outside to help overexpose the white background. You see the light meter is trying to make everything gray, which is why white appears gray!

Should I share instructions for "Lego Ideas" project

I agree; definitely, hold it in private until your "Lego Ideas" project reaches its conclusion. -
[MOC] EV3 Mars Rover
1963maniac replied to vijv's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's an incredible machine!!! Seems to work very well. I see you have 2 solar panels which you don't talk about. Do those contribute to the power source? Or, what do they do?- 2 replies

The lack of tutorial documents makes it harder to use LDCAD. Or, having to ask Roland is a lot of trouble. I've been there and done that. A friend made a how to video for me that was really the best out there, but unfortunately it is no longer available.

I have no one but the online community to talk LEGO with. Anyone whom I tell that Lego is my hobby just looks at me kinda funny. None of my adult friends or relatives get it. Even my adult sons who grew up with Lego and loved (past tense) them growing up really don't get the depth to which I take it. Technic is my main focus. And, I like making building instructions. I have had many hobbies over the years but, Lego has been there with me since I first saw them when I was about 8 years old. That was before the minifigure!! BTW, what is "Lego Masters on TV"?? -
I disagree Teflon, this is not a sad story. What you learned will not go to waste. You will use that know how again. I had a project that got on and off the shelf many times before I came up with the idea that finally worked. Then the final design come flowing out of my brain so quickly I could hardly build fast enough. Have yourself a "lego dream". While you are sleeping it happens sometimes.

I do not believe Stud.io supports flex axles yet. But to render it, use the POV option in Stud.io. For instructions, you may hay to just supply a photo to show correct build of the flex axles. You could use LPUB3D to make your instructions, since it is already in an LDRAW format.

SNIPE is right! Or LDCAD can flex those axles a little easier, (relatively speaking). It will take some patience and practice. Then, the POV ray renderer in Stud.io will do those flex axles justice. CARDBOY your body building is awesome. Yeah.

RC Buggy Motor
1963maniac replied to Clawp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
According to Sariel's data in "The Unofficial Lego Technic Builders Guide" page 170, RPMs for the RC "buggy" motor are as follows: No load at 7 Volt power supply is inner /906 RPMs and outer is 670 RPMs. No load at 9 volt power supply is inner 1245 RPMs and outer 920 RPMs. Philo's " Lego Motors Chart" shows 832 RPMs for the inner and 615 RPMs for the outer. Maybe it really doesn't matter how fast these Chinese motors go. They can be geared up or down for any application. What's nice is that they are available for less than what a used Lego one costs and they are Power Functions compatible. Maybe we'll be able to use these when TLG comes out with a conversion cable for PU. -
Thank you, Jim. Wow, that guy's designs are something else. He's in a league all by himself! WHEW!!
