  1. Thanks Didumos69 for this post!! I think my whole problem of not understanding Lego gearboxes/ transmissions might have to do with understanding synchronized versus unsynchronized. This post helped a lot:

  4. I would definitely buy winter village, budget version or not.
  5. You have to build the model digitally first, in other words you need a digital file and from that you make the building instruction (BI). Programs? "Stud.io" which is on bricklink.com or LDRAW programs: LDCAD, MLCAD, LDVIEW, LPUB3D, etc. All of these use the LDRAW library of parts files. Use Stud.io, LDCAD, or MLcad to create your digital file. Stud.io has a "BI" software within it.
  6. That's the USA number I called and got help immediately. 800-835-4386
  7. PDF building Instructions are now available here: https://bricksafe.com/files/1963maniac/Anto's Sequential_8_Speed_gearbox.pdf
  8. I found that you have to be spending more than the VIP amount without tax and shipping. Like I was trying to spend $30 of VIP for a $29.99 Lego set which didn't work. I called and a penny short did not compute.
  9. https://bricksafe.com/files/1963maniac/Anto's Sequential_8_Speed_gearbox.pdf

I just got done. This is the current version. Please delete the previous BI. Do you have any suggestions or changes that you would like made? Otherwise, I consider this is done. This is your MOC so go ahead and tell me anything you want. Did I miss anything?

This is a really well done gearbox!!! Thanks for sharing it!! Do you know if this MOC preceded Didumo69's sequential 8 speed transmission tunnel? I did his BIs too.

You are in France and I'm in USA, so I know it will take a few hours now. Thank you! 1963maniac, Kay Kampf

  10. I agree with everything you just said. Most of the time they just sit in storage gathering dust. You can only build on top. They are limited.
  11. I am wondering how and from where you got those custom tracks into "BlueBrick" ?
  12. A quote from guidelines: "Remember: Eurobricks is a LEGO fan site, thus we want most topics here to be LEGO related." Hey, I've been quoted three times. Okay, I made a mistake! I got it already! Can you please leave me alone now?
  13. I wish I had that much tabletop in my Lego room/office. Right now I have 2X 10261 monopolizing my workspace.
  14. Not much documentation comes with that set. A little more information can sometimes be helpful. Check here how that gets charged. I found it to be a little tricky til you understand how it works. I have a document that I got from Lego Education called "Getting Started With the LEGO Energy Meter". It devotes a lot of time to charging and discharching. https://www.scribd.com/document/167588476/Renewable-Energy-Quick-Start-Guide I would have thought you could still get it from Lego. I also found these: https://le-www-live-s.legocdn.com/sc/media/files/ev3-science-activity-pack-resources/renewable-energy-element-guide-engb-3665e7c507623002ee3e620c8dafed8d.pdf https://education.lego.com/en-us/support/machines-and-mechanisms/faqs?
  15. The total cost can have a large price range. Don't forget Lego replacement parts. On Bricklink make a wanted list for each MOC of the parts you would need. Then, click buy: several stores will come up with the items they have for sale from your wanted list. You will probably have to use several stores to get everything you need, each having there own shipping costs.
  16. Knowing how you use Stud.io is very helpful!!
  17. Bricklink says: LEGO says: 70620= 49 x 58.5 x 18.5 NINJAGO® City measures over 24” (63cm) high, 12” (31cm) wide and 16” (42cm) deep 70657= 58.2 x 48 x 12.4 cm This cool toy for kids measures over 14” (37cm) high, 14” (38cm) wide and 9” (25cm) deep.
  18. THAT'S PROFOUND!!!!
  19. That's a well done video, Excellent!!, and a great idea. I'm kind of lazy I guess, I just use a 9V electric train speed regulator, part 2868b with PF extension wire. I got my speed regulator for about $20 online. It has the previous style electric connector but the PF extension wire converts it just fine. and, as the name implies, it's electricity is adjustable + or - !!
  20. This was made to use power functions, but probably could be adapted to use powered up system. This works very well with a PF remote, battery box and IR receiver. Building instructions here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-11841/1963maniac/train-track-switch-controller/#bi
  21. Just let TLG replace them.
  22. That's a real beauty. Get you three pairs of those big train wheels instead of the gears.
  23. I was very honored that Attika worked with me to make these building instructions. It's an honor to Attika's skill of MOC designing that it is still being built. This MOC is posted on Rebrickable which has the inventory and building instructions. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-20224/1963maniac/attikas-8880-evo-tribute/#parts
  24. Get on Rebrickable.com and build a few MOCs that you like. I'd start smaller before you go bigger. Certainly don't spend Money on building instructions for now. As far as buying parts, don't forget about "replacement parts" on Lego.com as well as Bricklink.com. At some point a large premium set of the kind of parts you use most. A purchase like that would give you more of everything to have on hand.
  25. I am watching this post with great interest.
