Technic 2021 Set Discussion
Zerobricks replied to LvdH's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Those times are sadly gone... Even if the TLG would release a more powerful motor none of the hubs could drive it, because their current limitations which is around 800mA max. -

Axle Collection Thread
Zerobricks replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would use a dog bone connector instead of the magenta 5L beam, so you can additionaly brace the 20 tooth gear. I used a very simillar setup in my motorization mod of the Zeux. -
Might be a bump, but I was just watching Behind the scenes of how TLG motorized the 1:1 scale Chiron: The way the mated the gears are 24 to 20, on a 3x3 L layout is not a really a very "legal" gearing, since the gears are in a looser mesh than the usual (you can see the updated 20 tooth gear around 3:30 in video). Also in the original set, there is an exact situation with the gear shifter, but in that case there is a beam right next to it. I think at that time the 24 tooth gears have been updated so they don't rub agaisnt it. So now we have a situation where we have a slightly smaller 24 tooth gear and we are trying to mate it to a 20 tooth gear for both the set and the 1:1 project. Do you see where this is going? I'm thinking these two projects might have contributed to the decision to modify the 20 tooth gears but in the process they broke the main meshing fit. What do you think about my theory?

Buwizz power limit

I think your motors are overheating, simple ast that. if youa re not sure, just attach a PF LED on the same port as the motor and you will see. -

You can control PU motors as simple motors. But to control them as servos you need to get position feedback from them which neither the converter cable or BuWizz 1.0 or 2.0 support.- 12 replies

BuWizz stacking
Zerobricks replied to HectorMB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can stack motors, but there are limits of course. I suggest you stack no more than 2x XL, 3x L and 4x M motor on same port. -

Custom LDD bricks and fixes

Thanks for the update, Stephan. I would like to note 5292 still has collision issues at the back end preventing bricks to be added. -

Now that looks way better than the Porsche. I like the way the control unit fits nicely on the roof. -
Zero's workshop
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So I have managed to import a 1:8 and a 1;10 scale model of Ford Raptor into LDD and 1:10's wheels are a perfect fit with the Unimog tyres and 42110's wheels! 1:8 on the other hand... Even the biggest, Claas tyres are too small -
First of all a big thanks to @Stephan for all the assistance and @polymaker for Brick Studio software, I couldn't have made the following video tutorial with you. Few weeks ago as I noticed LDD was being updated by the community, I got a crazy idea... Is there a way to import an object into LDD so you can use it as a reference? Having this kind of an option would make designing scale models much easier and faster. I asked @Stephan for his input and he managed to provide the first ever working example of this idea. Since then I learned how to import any 3D model into LDD and have therefore created this tutorial. In the following video tutorial I go through the process of importing any 3D object to LDD. I think the implications of this possibility are simply HUGE across all Lego themes and it's my hope this tutorial will help and inspire you all.

Good idea. I would just add a few beams across it on the top and bottom to keep it from sliding apart. -
How to rotate whole model?
Zerobricks replied to mykenku's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If you want to rotate all but the baseplate, press Ctr+A and while holding ctrl click baseplate to unselect it. Than just use arrow keys to rotate. -

It's good to have (almost) all frames in one color now. We only need the open H frame and maybe tha ball joint frame in black to have the complete set.- 5,504 replies
