Technic Elementary Bible
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you for the praise! I wrote the document in Word, though I'm not very experienced with managing projects on GitHub. Thank you for the feedback, added to my to-do list. Please see here: https://rebrickable.com/users/Zerobricks/mocs/ I was thinking of adding that part originally, but since it has only appeared in one set, I decided to skip it. But can add it. That's a good idea, I think i can use the UCS AT AT walker for example. I will add it At the time of the writing of the document, the technic nut was not yet available. I will add that unique and reversible worm gear Same for the variable length transmission, will add it now that all parts are available digitally. Good idea adding a one way transmission chapter, will add it as soon as the new clutch gear is available I'm not familiar with the concentric transmission. Can you please provide more info? Thank you all for constructive feedback. I plan to update the bible with the ideas above and new parts, especially new parts from the Spear as soon as they are available in LDD.- 25 replies

This is a project that I've been working on for the past few years. I worked really hard the last few weeks to get it to a point where the first version can now finally be released before I move to new challenges. The point of this free document is help show people who are new to the modern Technic system and want to learn about the basic elements, mechanism, systems and techniques. This is project is my gift back to the LEGO community. Here are a few random pages to showcase the Technic Elementary Bible: The document is available for free to download here: https://bricksafe.com/files/Zblj/technic-elementary-bible-v0.1/Technic Elementary Bible V0.1.pdf I only kindly ask to credit me when referencing this document. Remember that is this the first, basic version of the document. It’s probably full of typos, mistakes, not to mention lacking proper graphical design. I do plan to improve it and add additional content in the future. Have a look, who knows, you might learn something new! And if possible, please provide some feedback.

General Part Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Indeed, the axles are rounded and there's also another important fact. All LEGO parts are usually 0,1 mm thinner from (almost - doesn't apply for height for studded parts) every direction from the ideal 8 mm grid raster. That means a normal pin is around 15,8 mm long. Same applies for beams which are actually even thinner from top to bottom dimension in order to be compatible with studded plates - especially the LEGO logo.- 5,794 replies

I am greateful this forum is still alive and kicking even in these crazy times. And I really think we need to appreciate good things like this community, since it's too easy to lose them. -

Just watched the movie yesterday, so I can safely say that your models came out great! Such a simple deisgn using rods, but it comes out really good!

I think the front axle is designed too weak, it will bend a lot in real life. You need an upper connection at the sides, or at the top of the diff to reinfoce it. Also, there is an issue with your 12 tooth gear driving the 20 and then the diff. The axle supporting the 12 tooth gear is not properly supported, the whole thing can pop out under load. Also, why not use planetary hubs if the model will be motorized?

Zero's workshop
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's gonna be a free digital document, nothing too fancy with an option to donate That's the plan! Thank you very much! It will be a major change since I will be limited with what I can post. So I have to make the last few months count! -

Unofrtunetely I will not be posting many more MOCs since I'm moving to Denmark in a few months. Having said that, i have been working on a LEGO Technic building techniques book, so I'm hoping I can finish that in time before the big move! -

Here are the final photos and video of the completed models. I do love these challenges, because they allow me to push myself out of the comfort zone and do something new, different and fun!

I wonder if the DRS is connected to the gearbox. It would make sense! Other than that I don't see any new parts/innovations.
