  1. Yep, definitely getting a few of these. Love this for our city. Baby, hotdog bun, wheelchair, loads of figs, brilliant. Granddad's torso is perfect. Only thing that is a slight pity is the red bicycle. Would have loved a yellow one. But at least there will be a bright light orange one in the Friends Party train set (41111). Brickset lists 60134 at £34.99; no Euros or Dollars yet.
  2. Nice one, people, well-deserved. Not all my favourites won, but there were at least a dozen entries that were so close together, it was very difficult to make a choice. I love this contest, and I sincerely hope we'll have another one in a year's time. I might even enter myself!
  3. Looks terrific so far, I shall be following this. Great to see you took the availability of bricks into account, even though it is a digital build. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  4. No, not really, but this is mainly dependent on two things: The type of job, and (much, much more importantly) the amount of interest your better half, if present, has in Lego. I'm lucky enough to have a wife who is at least as fanatic an AFOL as I am. We own one of each official modular, having received Brick Bank a few weeks ago. Also, we bricklinked the official mini modulars. I could not agree more! We rebuilt the PR a few weeks back, and that roof is really a terrific design. No "mouse traps" in sight, it just fits perfectly.
  5. Great stuff. Love the winter garden and the trees as well. Great interior details, and it's good to see you kept the hinged principle to open the house. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  6. I agree. Most people I know who did not do this wish they had after the modular bug got to them, and they found out one or more modulars were retired in the mean time.About the DO: personally, I liked building that. It's not my favourite building, but I still like it a lot. Green Grocer, Pet shop and Parisian Restaurant are my favourites. Pet Shop looks very nice, and can also be split into two separate buildings, which is great for variation.
  7. Well, what can I say? We all have to start somewhere! Smashing creation. Some very nice building techniques and parts usage, too. Looking forward to seeing the additions you mentioned above. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  8. Great idea, and very well executed. The mökki looks very realistic, and the little details, like the snow in the trees, the ice hole and the life saver on the fence really finish it off. When I was in Finland in the winter, there was a lot of ice and snow, but (lucky us) no ice hole. So we had to settle for frolicking around in the snow between sauna sessions. The difference between +90 and -10 degrees is actually quite bearable. For a few seconds. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  9. Cheers, Klaus-Dieter, for putting up the review. I like this set a lot. One would expect the details of the interior of these Creator sets to be less detailed than the modulars, so that does not bother me. I especially like the corner set-up, as seen in the first picture. It's a great building; I also like the sandwich sign above the door. Thanks again, and keep clicking those bricks together.
  10. 10 36 39 45 55 Well, this was a tough one. After my first selection, I had 18 (!) entries left. After a second selection (with a lot of pain in my heart), I was left with 11. Reducing it to 5 was almost impossible, let alone I should give any entry more than one point. I looked at sets I would buy and that would fit in best with the existing Lego sets and MOCs we have in our village at the moment. It really hurt to have to leave so many great entries out of my list. Absolute honourable mentions have to go to: 2. Cottage 11. Mountain Shelter 13. Brewery 14. Family Christmas Workshop 22. Village Shop 30. Confectionery Shop and 4. Santa's Shoppe 15. Weihnachtspyramide 17. Advent Calendar 20. Windmill 23. A Christmas Wedding 35. Holiday Banquet Hall 54. Antique Store and an Old House What a brilliant competition this year. Probably fired up by the frustrations of Lego not providing us with our yearly "fix" of a new set.
  11. I love this work! Could be a street in the centre of a Dutch town like Leiden, Delft, Gouda, Amsterdam, and so on. Great stuff, love the façades, with the different roof fronts. Keep clicking those bricks together.
  12. Interesting...Our set arrived yesterday, and we got bugger all as a freebie.
  13. Cheers for putting up the review. I agree with most of the pros and cons you listed, but it did not make me give it full marks. It made me rate it Average.
  14. Oops, forgot to comment on this one. Shame on me, for it is one of my favourites. Both size- and atmosphere-wise it is a perfect fit for the Winter village. Great colours, and a lovely idea. Only thing missing is a light brick Best of luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  15. Just saw the voting thread. You people do realise you're a bunch of sadists, don't you? Five points only? Well, this might take a while. I've narrowed it down to 18 in the first go, and to 11 in the second go (with a lot of pain). Six more to go...
  16. That's a brilliant module to add to a 16 wide modular. Great idea! Love the interior details and the roof, especially. Keep clicking those bricks together.
  17. If I add the bank to my bag (from The Netherlands), I get no polybag at all. Yes, if that Nexo knight thingy is it, that's a shame. We had a nice balloon stand and a flower cart in the past. I was looking forward to that bright light orange bicycle.
  18. Well, it might be too large and bulky to fit in perfectly with the rest of WV, but I still like what you did here. Lots to see, and all snugly compressed on a 32x32 area. I like the design of the building (one could MOD this into a modular!), the tree and the roof decorations. Pity those 8x16 tiles don't come in white. Best of luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  19. Well you might have seen a lot of fantastic entries allready, but this one fits right up there with them. A great build. I especially like the side walls being "set back" and the way the façade blends into the tower as it goes up. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together.
  20. Lovely! All very well co-ordinated and thought out. Great façade, tower and side walls. I would put that in my diorama in a flash. Good luck in the contest, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  21. This is so packed full of details and so brilliantly designed and colour-co-ordinated, I don't even know where to start. Love it! Only pity is, the turning is a bit jerky; difficult to get right. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  22. I followed the progress on the web site. Great to see the end result. As usual, flawless and tasteful interiors, and a great block of buildings from the outside, too! Hard to pick a favourite; I guess from the exterior it's the dark tan house, and interior is the 16 wide's kitchen. Keep clicking those bricks together.
  23. Seriously funny. And not at all badly designed, either. It should at least get a vote for originality and humour! Keep clicking those bricks together.
  24. Oops, there are so many entries this year, that I missed this one initially. Another great entry. Great scene, altogether. Lovely house, nice snow build-up, great tree (could do with some snow, perhaps) and a great scene inside, with the happy kid. Nice detail with the wood-chopping area. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together! PS And once again, two goats, casually dropped in the scene! Everybody except me seems to own dozens of them. I need an extra mortgage on my house to be able to afford them! I'm beginning to get seriously annoyed by these creatures.
  25. Nice build! I like the red lines on the walls, they add a nice variation. Stall and car look great, too. Scale-wise, it's a perfect addition to the existing sets. Best of luck, and keep clicking those bricks together.
