  1. Cheers for taking the time to put up this review; always nice to read about these new sets. To be honest, this set is, well, weird. No idea where LEGO's going with this one. It's original but I am not a fan, let's put it that way. Then again, I can imagine other people are, and fair play to them. It all adds to the diversity, and that's a good thing!
  2. Yes, I just noticed 40236, and I think it's smashing. Just like the "Painting Easter eggs" set.
  3. Well, slowly but surely, this is beginning to look promising. I would still prefer a goat-herder (with goat) in stead of a shepherd (with sheep), though
  4. That locomotive is awesome! Amazing that you could stay so true to the original using LEGO parts. Clever work with the tubes in the front. Keep it up!
  5. Nice one, carebear! Great details inside and out, and all-in-all, not all too "Friendsy", so it will still fit in well in the Winter Village. I especially like the cosy interior, the little stable and the outside tap with water and bucket. Best of luck in the contest, and keep clicking those bricks together.
  6. That's our experience as well. Our Billy bookcases are pretty old, so I don't know if they have changed, since, but ours don't fit 3 32x32 modulars by a hair.
  7. Wow, great set-up! I love the snowy mountain with the ski slopes and the train tunnel. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  8. Couldn't agree more. We received t with our Winter Holiday Train We deliberately postponed that buy for this gift. As an extra gift we got an elves polybag with some good parts, too! The globe is a smashing set. One of the best we ever received. On the other hand, we got nothing with the Brick bank. Looking forward to see what's in store for the Assembly square. Hopefully something that fits with it, as did the flower stand with the DA and the balloon stand with the Ferris wheel.
  9. Xon67, that Emmet snow sculpture is brilliant. Lovely details, there's even snow on the benches, window sills and balconies! No idea how one would attach the nose carrots to the minifig heads in a real build, though Keep up the good work, by all means.
  10. These look great, Yoohaa! Good to see them again, this year.
  11. As some of the above, I'm betting on a goat. I need goats. Desperately. I wake up in the middle of the night, all sweaty, screaming "95341!". It's five years old, and almost completely unobtainable. It's an outrage. An outrage, I say! And for the jungle (the mighty jungle) I guess: a GOAT!
  12. Cheers for putting this up, WhiteFang! Quite a job, with so many similar figs. I always love the pictures with figs from other sets.
  13. Lovely creation, very nice! Well-deserved, congratulations, and keep clicking those bricks together.
  14. Cheers for putting this up again; always a joy to read, and look at the perfect hi-res pictures.. Pretty steep pricing, though, for these figs. If they are priced the same in Europe, that comes to around 5,25 Euros per fig.
  15. Oops, nearly missed this one. I think it looks great. The front is very well-designed, with nice details and great colour combinations. The bike shop interior is smashing, and the "glass column" elevator is a very good idea. Do the rest of the rooms have an interior, too? Keep clicking those bricks together!
  16. Nice one. I especially like the ground floor. Clever work on the red fences. It's probably a bit too big for Winter Village; leaving out the first floor might make it fit in even better. And yes, a bit of snow and maybe some kind of small vehicle might help a bit, too. Good luck in the contest and keep clicking those bricks together!
  17. Hey JLSD, Welcome to the modular addiction group I own all modulars; from PR and DA I like PR best; great design, colours and details. It also depends on how often you plan to buy a modular, and if you want to collect as many as possible, or only the ones you like. PR is older, so it will "probably" retire before DA. There are a few still on sale that are older, like Palace cinema, I think. So if you don't want to miss out, buy the oldest one first. Pet shop (one of my favourites) was the odd one out, I think, because it was so popular. Keep clicking those bricks together.
  18. Wow, I don't know where to start. It might look a bit odd at first, but I think this is a brilliant idea. Very creative. Great Classic Space atmosphere. The façade with all the details looks very nice, and I love the interior! It would indeed be interesting to see it amongst other modulars, just for fun. This proves Winter Village is not the only thing you're an expert at (I would have used a "thumb up" emoticon, but the one here must be the ugliest "thumb up" emoticon I ever saw, so I avoid it ...) Keep clicking those bricks together.
  19. Well there's always the Expand the Winter Village contest
  20. That is smashing. A really great interior. Love the walls with all the details, and also the display tables. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  21. Cheers for that! Never saw it before. Useful and versatile part.
  22. Yes! Love this one; bit of tweaking to get rid of some of the repetitiveness, and it could be a winner. Cheers for that image!
  23. Wow, that is a lovely little creation! Keep clicking those bricks together.
  24. Okay, the picture on the front page hit me in the face like a bounced cheque. Quite an impression! Not being a fan of the Friends line, the colours are somewhat off-putting here and there (matter of personal taste), but in the true Friends' spirit, I would have to qualify this as absolutely brilliant! An amazing amount of work and creativity went into this, and design-wise, I can't fault this in any way. The square is a stroke of genius, and I love all the buildings you designed. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  25. Trees. I always think trees and forest in the winter. This is a study I did for our Winter village this year. Inspired on LEGO 40052.
