  1. I was considering going to this event, but I couldn't afford few days off from work due to project submission deadlines. Anyway, it would be great to see some new sets revealed. Maybe a restaurant...
  2. Hi. I've be thinking about joining Reviewer's Academy for a while. I wrote many reviews for Slovenian LUG, much less for EB. I have a small Olympus camera, lots of sets, and less time than I'd like to. But I'm willing to join the RA, and take my time to improve my photography skills, learn some reviewing tricks and improve my reviews.
  3. It's interesting to read these predictions, as each of us has a different ''picture'' of what a Parisian Restaurant should look like. I ''see it'' as a building with outdoor sitting, and an appartment above the restaurant. A balcony with flowers would be a nice addition. Regarding colour scheme, I can easily imagine detailed facade with some grey stone and colourful awning - perhaps dark red.
  4. I got the set few days ago, but haven't opened it yet. I'm glad this problem is now solved.
  5. I stopped in Munich's Riem Arcaden Lego Shop last Thursday and filled two cups. This is what I got. All in all, the selection was not very impressive, but I was lucky to get some parts I need for my current WIP MOC.
  6. Another amazing creation! All the animals are remarkable, and the landscaping is very realistic. It's amazing to see what some peopleartists can do with lego bricks.
  7. I prefer the interior to the exterior, but both look great. The choice of colours is interesting, and it's partly reminiscent of different flavoured types of coffee drinks. The front of the caffe with black walls and lots of large glass surfaces is (for me) the highlight of the facade. After observing it, I still find new details. I like the effect of the vertical grill plates, and the niche of the entrance surrounded by narrow glass walls. The interiors looks great in the coffee/cream colours - specially the wall design with plates to accentuate a part of the walls. Also, the hanging lights and wall decorations above the couch area are a nice touch. I'm not familiar how accountant's office should look like, but your place looks both cozy and effective at the same time. Great work!
  8. My votes are for: - Shrine of the Blessed by Etzel - Fortaan Abyss by MstrOfPppts. Many great entries, so it was hard to select only two.
  9. As others have said, go for Helm's Deep. It has less panels, and a nice selection of greys. And if you're not interested in the minifigs, you can always sell them. What I don't like about the new castle, are the blue decorations, and panels.
  10. This is an excellent design. The detailing on top of the pillar is fantastically done. It would be great to see it used in a real building. Have you tried building it with bricks? How stable is it?
  11. I never liked this Flickr's presentation. Lots of detail is lost during the presentation. However, I checked your Flickr folder, and was impressed with the building, both the exterior and interior. After comparing it to the original building, it really looks fine, and it's even better in tan than red. The roof detailing is a nice addition. The landscape, with different flower designs gives a lot of life to the house, as it's owners clearly take a good care of the garden. On the inside, the furnished rooms look great as well. I even saw a fridge of an interesting design - haven's seen bricks like that before. And the small bathroom was very cleverly built. Well done and thanks for sharing.
  12. I'm in as well. For the time being, I'll be on my own, and unless some other Slovenians don't sign up (Kivi and MstrOfPppts), I'd like to share a chalet with the Ladies.
  13. You're welcome. I'm eagerly waiting to get my hands on my second Family House. As a Creator's set, it has less parts than the exclusives, but it has goodies as well. Enjoy your shopping (and building).
  14. It's a wonderfully built scene. I'm not a fan of non-lego elements, but those yellowish tree leaves add a nice touch to it, along with the white flowers. Impressive work.
  15. In addition to Cwetqo's suggestions , I'd go with the Family house as well - it has white bricks and tan window frames in 2 sizes, in addition to some dark red slopes. However, multiple copies would be better to have more whites. In Factory store it might be worth to get some special parts (brick bricks, etc). Regarding price per brick, the modular line and Tower bridge are probably the best option. Enjoy your shopping!
  16. It's a sweet looking castle at this scale. The water looks great with trans rounds.
  17. I got my stock of masonry bricks at the Factory store in Legoland park. It's great to hear that this specific part is coming to PaB walls, so it'll be easier (and cheaper) to get.
  18. Great work. It's hard and tricky sometimes to get the right size and proportions, and a choice of model to minimize is important as well. However, your MOC has it all. It's a simplified version of large castle with all the significant details - the towers, trees, bridges. Well done!
  19. Sand Red sounds nice as a 'new' addition to the colour palette, however I doubt it a bit. In my opinion, bright light yellow from Friends seems more logical. TLG made some bricks in that colour after a long time, and I'm guessing they have a plan to use them in other sets, not just for the school. And even if I'm wrong, a new muted colour would be welcome.
  20. It's an interesting building design. Not being a train expert, my favourite details are the flowers in different shades. It would be nice to have them available outside the LDD. The greenery outside the large windows looks lovely in different shades of green.
  21. This is a nice train design with an interesting (lively) colour scheme. The idea to segregate the battery box and IR receiver is great, as it leads to more room for the minifigs to sit in both cars. Also, the snoted cabin is a nice touch to round up the front design, specially seeing that the original train is pretty ''box-y''. Nice work.
  22. As other have said, it's a lovely building with some interesting facade work. After seeing your reference building, I think the house would look well also in a smaller scale, as a two floor building only. In addition, with the three floor building, I would move the lamps to the ground floor, and maybe add a flag pole to the second floor. In addition, your interior design is nice as well. It would be nice to see it brickbuild.
  23. Thanks for the link, but many stores I checked were empty. However, it's nice to have an alternative to Brickbuildr.
  24. Building a solid roof can be very heavy on parts. Definitely, when making it solid, it would be very heavy (not the best for transporting a MOC), although the weight of the roof should not affect the rest of the building. I'd go with the beams to strengthen the roof, and still have enough bricks left.
  25. Amazing work! The scale of the building is impressive, but all the fascinating details... The brownish bench at the subway station is by far sweetest build - and a great part usage. The arches look great, but they're built so simply - sometimes that's the best way to build. The window displays are doing their job great. I could stay there forever just window shopping, and I'm not a fan of shopping. I like the subsections, on toys, bags, sports equipment, and music - the silver disco ball rules the display. And the other details really give life to the every day scene at the Arnotts. The hanging flower baskets are an interesting idea. Once more, great work, Bfenz and Dfenz!
