  1. Besides the most obvious - set number has two 10 - the set also has exactly 10 black 1x8 plates, 10 dark bluish grey 6x10 plates, and 10 dark red 1x1 bricks. In addition, if the re-release of Sears tower (renamed to Willis Tower, but with the same catalog number) counts as one set, that also makes The Robie house the 10th Architecture set released. But it seems Rolli already beat me to that.
  2. Thanks for the review, CopMike! I'm really looking forward to this mini set, and even more to the real Lego House. Too bad it won't open till 2016 (that's what it says in the manual). Overall, I like the simple style similar to the Architecture line, and the 1x1 trans clear tiles are the icing on the cake.
  3. My first impression of the set was below average. It looks a bit too colourful, and I simply didn't see it as a whole. But when I checked the photos more thoroughly for the second time, there were some nice details surfacing and making a much better impression. I like the individual booths, that add to the fairground spirit One can easily make more (or simply use those from the winter village carousel. I like the new face (it's what I'd look like after a ride on the carousel ). My favourite part is the grey female hair. However, as a whole the idea to have the fairground fit on the trucks is realistic, and it adds to playability. After all, the fairs I'm familiar with, they all come with some below average trucks, and then turn up very bright.
  4. Hello, Mr. Miniland Holodoc! Nice to meet you.
  5. Is there really a set with only 10 copies sold? Looking forward to the quiz, though.
  6. I finally came around to do some inventory of the sets lying around the living room. If anyone's interested in a trade, I can offer: - Horizon Express (10233) - middle and rear passenger cars (they're still in polybags, with instructions) - Small Cottage (31009) - sealed box - Stunt Plane (60019) - sealed box - Heartlake Flying Club (3063) - sealed box. I'm interesting in getting some of the newer sets, such as: - Mountain Hut (31025) - multiple (2 at least) - Sunshine Harvest (41026) - Heartlake Juice Bar (41035) - Ariel's Magical Kiss (41052) - Cinderella's Dream Carriage (41053).
  7. The local name is Vodovodni stolp, and the location is Kranj. The name translates to English as a Water tower. It was built in the early 20th century from 1908-11. It was kept partly as a monument of the era's technical achievements. At the time, the tower was situated at the outskirts of Kranj, but as the town grew after WWII, a residential area was built and renamed after the tower. The tower still has its function today. I'll try to find more details about it before the event.
  8. Well, then I'm out. I had a picture of the model ready, and was almost 100% sure this is it, but I forgot about the dates...
  9. I'll make a water tower (Vodovodni stolp) from my hometown Kranj. I had a hard time finding architecture that I could reproduce in Lego. For some reason, I always ended up with something round or simply too large. Hope I'm not too late.
  10. If I were from Danmark, I'd probably choose the Round tower (Runde torn or something like this in Danish) from Copenhagen. However, Danish castles or even the Queen's residence or the Opera house in CPH would make nice architecture models.
  11. This is a great idea for a competition. I've been thinking of doing some architecture MOCs lately for local displays. The only problem is there's too many interesting buildings/bridges/monuments to choose. And they all seem to be very complicated to build in small scale. But I've tried some already, and will post a pic of the model (real one - when I decide what'll be) before the deadline.
  12. I'm signing under this. (same goes for me - wouldn't want to miss dinner).
  13. This is another great modular from you, Kristel! Well done. I didn't have time to comment on it earlier, but I looked at the pictures several times already. The white detailing on the front facade looks lovely. As for the interior, it's your style all over. I like the versatile collection of flowers and plants at the florist's.
  14. Thanks for all the behind-the-scenes work! I'm looking forward to the event. Only 2 months to go. Calanon, I don't think you need a pick up from the Billund Airport. I haven't been there, but it's a very small airport, probably build just for the park and the company. According to google, it's a few minutes walk to the park.
  15. This was a fantastic display! I'm really glad I had a chance to see it. I shared a few words with Tine (I think), and told her how amazing the model is. At first I only saw a couple of familiar buildings, but the details of the park were all just overwhelming. I'm still fascinated by the wonderful landscaping with the flower bushes and fountains - this part looks even nicer in bricks than in real life. The buildings and the roller costers are equally impressive. Congratulations to the whole team for a wonderful display!
  16. Thanks for posting this. I've seen your Brownstones at LWC, and they looked like a really lovely neighbourhood as part of the whole town display. They were one of my favourite parts of the display.
  17. Thanks for posting this. I've seen it on Friday at LEGO World CPH, and I love it. I'm a quite familiar with Copenhagen, as I've visited it many times, and it was instantly recognizable. The amount of details is amazing. What I like the most about it are all the different angles of streets and houses.
  18. Nice work. The building has a nice colour scheme and looks lovely. I agree with Kristel, the balcony looks too residential. However, I like the large windows/french doors so there's enough light inside. Maybe you should keep the large windows, but without the balcony, and include extra greenery (from next door's florist). You did a great job with the interior decorations. I like it that you kept it uncluttered with only the essentials included. The photocopier is one of the highlights. Well done!
  19. Interesting idea to make a piano shaped building. You did a great job!
  20. Thanks, Trippybrowneyes! I get a lot of inspiration from Interior design magazines, and I always try to furnish the apartment as if I live there.
  21. I just bought my ticket for Friday. I'm not sure about the meeting on Saturday, I have to check with my sister's plans for the weekend.
  22. I started reading Ken Follett's Fall of Giants on Sunday, and I love it. I've read more than 650 pages in 4 evenings, and I can't wait to open it again. It's a part of trilogy Century (with the third book coming out in Autumn 2014).
  23. Great work! I like the facade detailing, there are lots of interesting details to try out. Well done.
  24. Well done! The trans-clear façade works best to show all the colourful details hidden inside. The SNOTed letters are a nice touch. My favourite detail is the Google car for street view. Is this going to be presented to Google? It would look great to have in its lobby. Congrats on this amazing build.
  25. I agree completely. The OOB model doesn't look very impressive, but the parts selection looks interesting enough to get the sets for parts to start MOCing.
