  1. The house definitely caught my attention. It looks a bit boring on the outside with just tan/brown facade, but considering the parts number, and the fact that it opens on hinges, there has to be some interesting interior details, that I'm looking forward to see.
  2. I have my modulars, the OOBs and MOCs displayed in my bedroom and in the living room. There's no way they'd all fit on the shelves in one room, so I stopped trying that. Ideally, I'd like to see them on a long shelf on a wall with few gaps with a road between corner buildings.
  3. There are too many great entries, and it was hard to choose only 5. My votes go to: 17. Kristel - 1 20. gazumpty - 1 27. Galaktek - 1 28. Simon S - 1 53. Cara - 1
  4. It looks great! The colour scheme is nice, and there's enough details on the facade to make it interesting. Interiors is equally great. I didn't notice at first, but making the building wider works really well and gives extra space on the inside. Well done!
  5. I'll be in Copenhagen from 13th to 23rd, and I plan to visit the exhibition, only I'm not sure yet on which day. I'm having problems with the website, as it's hard to read (and understand Danish) without google translate. I'm thinking of visiting LEGO world on Friday, 14th, but I could find some extra time also on Saturday morning to meet with EBers.
  6. This is a lovely MOC. I like the original idea and the tree at the centre of a square looks great. Also, the ice sculptures are a nice touch to add more winter details. I'm not familiar with trees blooming in winter, but I guess that's some Scottish sort.
  7. I got Tower Bridge for 180 EUR today in a local toy shop, and Town Hall for 146 EUR (bought in the name of my boyfriend). I was surprised to see a 20% on all LEGO products, as this was the first time, so I had to go and get something. Additionally, I bought also Surfer Rescue, mainly for the shark and the surfer. Although I spent a lot, I'm looking forward to building with these bricks.
  8. This one is really cute. I like colored heads as bodies for the elves and children, and the trees look great with green cheese bricks.
  9. This is one of the 2014's sets I'm looking forward to. Hopefully, it'll be available in stores soon. Where did you get it? In LEGO store (I can't find it on S@H). The set has a nice selection of bricks, with the scooter and cookies being the highlights.
  10. This is a great model! The chromed pieces are a nice touch.
  11. This is a lovely entry. I prefer using a brick-built ''Christmas'' tree to one piece pines.
  12. back to sorting...

  13. I'd prefer not to pay to use EB. But then, if I had to, I'd prefer some reasonable amount up to 50$ a year, making it less than 5$ a month. Also, I'd prefer to pay yearly. I hardly see the adds, and I don't mind them being there. In general, I agree with many other users about what should be included in the fees. Most of all, EB administration puts lots of their efforts and mostly, their precious time to keep this site running. Having a fee to use the site might keep spammers away, and help to improve the forum. As far as the info goes, I wouldn't mind to wait few extra weeks to get the exclusive info on new sets (after all, they do get out after the release date). On the other hand, I wouldn't like people being turned off by having to pay a fee to use the forum. As there are people from all around the globe, with different incomes, it'd be nice to have a choice of what and when to pay for EB service. On that hand, having a Paypal donations account (or similar) might be a nice option for everyone to contribute within their financial limit.
  14. At the end of the day, it's your call. If buying lego and building sets and MOCs is what you enjoy, you should do it. It's your money, and you decide what to buy with it, and how to spend it. Perhaps, you should point out that building with your daughter is also quality time spent together, and that eventually she will grow up to build larger sets. My bf was to one to re-introduce me to Lego, and he sometimes makes comments on my spending. As for my mum, she thinks I'm rich, not because I'm buying bricks, but simply because I can ''afford'' rent for my flat (and it's actually I'm renting because I cannot afford to buy a flat). With this off-topic comment of my mum's, the point is that the only explaining that can be done is to say how you feel about building with bricks (and with your daugther). As long as that's something you like, they should accept it.
  15. Cinema looks fantastic! The art deco style fits to the building nicely, and different geometrical shapes in the interiors are creating interesting niches (the floor pattern and the side wall). Hanging lamps are a nice touch, and lots of greenery around the halls brightens the large hall. Congratulations for this fantastic MOC!
  16. I'm looking forward to some of the new wave Friends' sets, and I'm curious about the release date(s). Is there any info about the date?
  17. The house looks fantastic. The old windows look perfect for this scale.
  18. It looks interesting to see how you start building your modulars, Vincent. Considering that this building will never be finished, it's great to see some of the details in construction. The pipes are a great detail, and the pile of ''bricks'' and timber frames as well.
  19. It's a lovely building. My favourite detail are the skis and the oval shield on the facade, although the wall bellow looks a bit empty because of this detail. The roof is cleverly done, I've seen this technique before, but never on a large roof like yours, and it works well. Is it stable enough to be moved around though? The interior details are interesting, too. I like the craftsman putting the purple tiles on the floor. Well done!
  20. Big Ben is my first and only set from the Architecture series. Although I like most of them, this one I was sure to get when the chance came up. And I like your extension even more. It looks great, follows the style of the tower and has a great potential for extending it even further.
  21. If that is true (I know some sets were available to VIPs about 2 weeks before the official release of the set), is that offer valid for S@H or also in LEGO stores?
  22. I do both, build sets and MOCs. And there's always a time when a set is recycled to build a MOC. Just having them is not worth the price. Their value is in the bricks, so I'd say: ''Go and build something!''.
  23. Thanks for a great review. I enjoyed the reading and inspecting picture from different angles. I'm really looking forward to the release date.
  24. To begin with, your building process is very interesting, starting with actual planning in LDD and creating a great end product. It reminds me of building a great OOB set, that you longed for a long time, yet it's so much better, as you actually get to create the ''set''. As a whole, it works really well, telling a story of holidays, with lots of snow, santa and presents. The details on the facade are interesting, I like the monochrome colour scheme, as some of the details really stand out. Also, interior is interesting, although not all details are clearly visible. My favourite detail is definitely chandelier. Great work.
  25. I'm pretty sure that's the case. I can't find it on search (using set number or name), but it's there in the Creator section. I'm sure that's on purpose. I'm hoping for an early release too. I'm travelling to Germany just before Christmas, and I'd love to get the set then...ok, at least the first copy of the set...
