My first MOD: 10232 Palace Cinema (non-corner building)
Redhead1982 replied to Superfunk's topic in LEGO Town
This is a wonderful MOD of the Palace Cinema. I'll like the linear layout and it looks as good as the OOB (if not better). Well done. -
My problem with this set were missing bricks. I got two sets, both of them missing 2 lbg inverted slopes 1x2.

I found Batman's Arkham Asylum (10937) for 130 EUR (30 EUR off the regular price) on local ''version'' of ebay.com. It was from an adult collection, with neatly applied stickers, instructions and the box. Needless to say it's mine now.

Just curious, has Horizon Express been successful?
Redhead1982 replied to FlyerNut's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have one for the moment, and I'm planing of buying another one (or just the front car) to have a ''complete'' train. And my collegues from LUG (train fans) have them (one or two copies). The issue of ''missing'' track and motorisation is a problem for those who don't own previous train sets with tracks. As for me, the sets I buy in multiple copies, I usually buy them at different time points (either to use VIPs or just to save some extra money), which is friendlier for the budget. On a side note, I'm not a huge train fan, I own only 2 sets of red passenger train, one HE and one MOCed train. So, I'd say HE is selling as also not huge train fans are buying it. -
Celebrating the Reviewers Academy's Fifth Anniversary!
Redhead1982 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Forum Information and Help
Congratulations on the Anniversary! You're all doing a very great job with the Reviews, and I always look forward to reading new ones. That's also a reason I want to join in, and learn from the best, how to present sets and MOCs in the best possible way.- 15 replies

Nice work on the building. My favourite detail is the curved front facade. It looks so good, I'm considering trying it out on my own. What I like the most about it, is that the gaps on the curved part are hardly visible, which is often a down point (for me). Interiors is eaqually impressive, specially the book store. You ''solved'' a problem of curved walls really nicely in the other floors, by creating a terrace and angularly cropping the building. Well done.

Very nice lamp post design. My prefered lamp posts are the white ones, found in modular buildings series, however, yours is functional which makes it more special. Am I right seeing tires around the post?

CM4S, your link to prelims is pretty discrete (and hard to notice). I like that more of the new yellow will be included in a set, although it seems it's more panels than bricks. On the other hand, the barn looks interesting in design, and I know at least 1 person, craving for more purple bricks to make a building (not me ). I'm definitely looking forward to some of the sets.

Thanks for the pictures. The Lemonade stand is my favourite because of the light aqua vespa , pink helmet (if I'm not mistaken, it's a new colour for this type of helmet), white dish and cookies. All in all, it has nice parts included. Also, the dolphin is the highlight of Emma's lifeguard post, although it seems the bricks in the set are not so interesting.

I was looking at snoted walls for a while, and I think the technique can be recognised from one of the pictures. From the front, there's a tile and bricks, than a white rail on the side of the window. On the inside, it looks as a bench in front of the window. I think that's where the conection to the wall is. It's blocked by the red table, but it looks like some headlights attached to plates on the floor. That's how I see it. But it is very interesting, and I spent some time thinking about it with a collegue, and that's what we came up with.

So, if I understand correctly without using google translate, one can get the exclusive minifigure (named Tom) for a purchase of 200 kr or more on the specified weekend in the CPH store, but probably not on S@H?

This DK promo sounds great, just too bad my ''contact'' in DK will be out of the country on those days. Hopefully, the minifig will be available on BL soon.

This set made my morning (and day)! I'm up too early for a Saturday, however, it was worth seeing this pictures. There's too many details I like, and the colour scheme is lovely. I'm sure I want more than one of these.

I can understand your point of view, and initially, I was a bit reserved about the Market set. However, with time and specially now that it's built, I enjoy(ed) it very much. Money is an issue, and strictly speaking, is it worth collecting it? I don't know, but it's worth building it, playing with it, and using some parts for MOCing. It's a sweet set, despite not being a specific building. On the other hand, I got another copy of the first three sets on sales just for some extra parts, yet I'm pretty sure the Market set doesn't offer so much as a part out only. I'm not sure this helps, but all in all, if you consider a set just for collecting, what's its value then. If you buy it, build it, display it, and some time later recycle it, it has a better value, and for me, that does the trick.

I'd love to have at one, or at least its torso. I like the idea of a Lego store employee minifig as a promo set, though it probably appeals to adults more than to kids.

Great work, Pep! Very stylish, also. I like the personalized touch to it.

It looks better with the door, I think. Well done. I'm looking forward to see how this develops into a street.

I agree with others, there is a door missing to the building. Although the lamp design is interesting, it's too dominant in comparison to the building. Specially, if you want to make 1-floor buildings, the lamp should be more modest in my opinion, otherwise, the building is hard to notice, and it certainly is worth noticing.

The textured grey wall with ''bricks'' looks very nice. Although a 64-wide building looks impressive (nice work), I prefer the 32-wide one.

I'm fine with the grouping. Thanks for this, Bonaparte. -

I'd prefer to share a cabin with the Ladies. If there's not enough room for the girls only, I'm fine sharing with MstrOfPppts... if that helps you with booking the chalets...and if it's not extra work. -
Hi, Town Staff! This subforum is the only one I visit frequently, and I like it the way it is. However, this doesn't mean it cannot be improved. Inclusion of Creator Houses to Town is a nice addition. All in all, thanks and keep up the good work!

Here's the extra parts from the Market.

I built my Market during the weekend, and I had no problem with fitting the technic plate over a pin. I was expecting it, but it fitted really smoothly, no pressure needed. I took a picture of the extra parts, but it needs some editing first, so I can post it tonight, if still interested.
