You did a great job rebuilding the church with bricks. It looks amazing, and the different shapes and angles of the walls and roof are really well done. My favourite detail(s) are the the dark green trees, I can't figure out how they're built, and I haven't seen this technique before - it looks fantastic.

I just spent 12 days at sea, swimming, sleeping and reading. I'm mostly in crime/adventure/thrillers, so here's the list. The Bone Bed by Patricia Cornwell Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - recommended thriller Busted by Karin Slaughter Criminal by Karin Slaughter Dead Man's Time by Peter James - 9th book in a nice series of British detective Inferno by Dan Brown - liked it more than the lost symbol, is a nice summer read Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke - the first one in a series, I was tempted by the title, but it's still a nice read, however I'd enjoy it more with the cookies (there are actually recipes for various cookies included) Judas Strain by James Rollins - nice adventure, similar style to Dan Brown, and has more books with the main characters Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin Thanks for the Memories by Cecilia Ahern and another chick-flick by slovenian author that I was dissapointed about (had good critics) I started another one by James Rollins, The Last Oracle, but haven't finished yet.

Alternate Palace Cinema Movie Posters
Redhead1982 replied to Johan the Yellowhead's topic in LEGO Town
Nice work! The posters look great. My favourite is the E.T. one. They would definitely add more variety to the film program in the Palace Cinema. -
Another beautiful modular from you! The sand blue and white colour scheme is great (I've been thinking of doing something in that colour). The interiors is impressive as usually. I like the paintings on the wall, and the sea theme in them. I like the dresser with the mirror, and the fridge cleverly hidden under the stairs. The terrace at the back is my favourite, I wonder what's the view from there? Great job (again)!

Great work, Kivi! You did a nice job with interior decorations. My favourite pieces of furniture would be the coffee table, corner sofa, wardrobes, and the desk with the bookshelf. Well done!

This one looks sweet. The crane is well done, with the tiny cabin. I actually like it in this scale. Well done.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Redhead1982 replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My share on the new minifigs. I'm not following them anymore, so I wasn't familiar with any speculations. I like some of them enough to buy them, also as I see a use of them in my builds. Bobby, Jazz musions and grandma are a must buy. I love the sax, and bobby's stick. Also, grandma's hair in grey - finally! (I've been looking for grey female hair for a while). Among the other figs, Scarecrow looks interesting, but not enough to buy one. Nevertheless it's a nice idea to include one. Bavarian girl actually has a nice dress, I think the cloth looks better than printed legs would (at least from the pictures). Scientist might be another one I'd to my collection, but she doesn't look very special. Pink icecream from the waitress in a lovely accessory, but I'm not sure about the fig. Also the gingerbread man is a nice idea, it even looks nice, but I can't see it being used as a giant cookie in a bakery. All in all, it's nice to see new minifig designs coming in and bringing new details to minifigs. -
Nice build. It looks very peaceful, as it should (besides being a reminder about not so nice history). My favourite detail is the flag with minifig hands.

The color combination of lbg and dark orange looks great. I'd add more color to the first floor, it looks to grey. The second floor has lovely detailing and the roof window is nice. The interiors is lovely as well, I like how you included all the essentials, including a secret room.

Knowing it's going to be a part of a larger layout, I'm more looking forward to seeing other details when finished. I like the fact that it's functional with a rotating motor.

That sounds interesting. My starting point was the train baseplate, but after a while, I figured that more detail can be included if I'd make my own base. Making it 8 wide might be a problem for driving, but it's certainly more in favour of additional detailing. Unfortunately not, as I don't have a town layout. I don't have enough room, so I keep my houses on the shelves, and the train will go in a box for while, and will be used occasionally. But I'm definitely not taking it apart for a while.

MOC: Victorian Townhouse (San Francisco Style, 21w)
Redhead1982 replied to ER0L's topic in LEGO Town
Actually, my favorite detail is the red car with exchangeable wheel position. It looks very classy. Also, the selection of minifigs is nice to give a feeling of being back in the 50's. The house is nicely as well. It does seem a bit too wide, but I wouldn't guess it's an odd-number width. That was a great choice, as it makes it easier on symmetrically decorating the facade. The only think I don't like is the white fence extending all the way to the window. It looks a bit out of place there.- 25 replies

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. I'm glad you like it. Yes, it can take curves. I was paying attention to this while building. Also, I didn't want it sticking out too much on the curves. I forgot about it yesterday, but I posted a short video of it on my Flickr. It's not the best quality, but it's showing the train at various speeds on a round track. Yes, I'm sure it's my first (one never forgets a first, right? ). Apart from building 7938 and 10233 with instructions... There are similarities with both models.

Grogall, thanks for the fantastic pictures. I like the set a lot, and the price is ok. I'm not sure I'll get two of them (as with the houses), but there's a lot of lovely details to fill a square of winter houses. My favourite are the elegant white horses with decorations, the sand green bag, and the mirror stickers on the carousel. I'm not so happy about the carousel roof being not brickbuilt, but I guess, it still looks fine. Definitely looking forward to October (I guess I have to plan my trip to Munich then to get the set).

Apart from enjoying train trips around Europe, I'm not much of a train fan. However, after buying the red passenger train, and recently Horizon Express, I started thinking about a challenge of creating my own train model. I'm more of a town girl, so a passenger train was my first choice. I started on the basic design in LDD, and than added more details while building it. The model is loosely based on the shape and color scheme of the SZ 713-715 Kanarcek (Canary). I used pictures from the link for inspiration, however, position of the doors and windows were tailored to the size of the train base. There are several color combinations, including a mostly red, green stripes, yellow/red stripes, and some in commercial designs. There's a IR receiver and a battery box included in the middle car, so it's a functional model. Altogether, there's room for 14 passengers. The first and the third cars are the same, and both have a driver's compartment. There's more pictures of the train from different angles at my FlickR.

The eye is stunning! It's an amazing design. It looks as photoshoped, but it's a surprisingly clever build with lightbricks and flames. Really well done!

I love the colours, the friendly purples and violets are really nicely contrasting with the dull grey. The mini planes looks very sweet (and infiltrating in HLC).

What a lovely scene. I'm not familiar with the show, but I really like the setting. My favourite details are the roofs. The use of plates reminds me of my childhood lego when I never had enough slopes. Also, plates create a less steep roof than the slopes would, and give a nice texture with the studs showing. Well done.

Just the answer to down time when you are on the road!
Redhead1982 replied to Legogal's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I build mine mini modulars a while ago, but I am actually considering bringing few zipbags of unsorted bricks with me on holidays to sort them. Obviously, I still have some to sort, and this might be a nice way to get it done. -
I'm local (according to your location, and not Lego stores). There's a link to PAB wall around the world, and they're usually well updated. However, keep in mind that some bricks can change on a daily basis. I visited only Munich's stores, and I'd suggest visiting both, if possible. Using the metrolines can get you from on to the other in about 40 minutes. The selection is similar in both stores, but it very much depends on what your looking for.

Modular Building 10243 Parisian Restaurant (2014 Modular Building)
Redhead1982 replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Town
Already the name sounds interesting and tempting. I'm visualizing a building with detailed facade, and a lovely romantic restaurant with a couple enjoying a meal. That's how I see Paris (and I haven't been there....yet).Thanks for the great news, Grogall! And looking forward to more info, when available.- 198 replies

Eurobricks Event 2014 - Information Topic
Redhead1982 replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
That's great. I'm considering myself going (again). It's a bit weird, as I don't know what I'll be doing in a year from now, but I think there won't be problems with taking few days off. -
It's fantastic. I really like the clean look of the model, as it looks like it was a very easy build. I like some of the simpler details, such as the white taps for pillars. It looks marvelous from a far, and I was just as surprised seeing them. With a model like that, I'd be expecting lots of special designed bricks. All in all, it's a fantastic and impressive build.

I love what the hippy did to the brand new VW. Specially, the flowers on the wheels. Also, the Beetle and T1 look fantastic. It's not easy to make a small car with many details, yet you managed to make realistic cars with recognizable details. Congratulations on these lovely models.

MOC: Cobblestone Street & Bridge, Theatre District
Redhead1982 replied to AncientDayz's topic in LEGO Town
The bridge easily outstands the Palace Cinema. I like the curveture of the stairs, and the colors of the cobblestone street. The bridge on its own could very easily be situated somewhere in Venice. Flower beds are a nice touch to finish the pedestrian area. Well done.
