  1. Well, I learned few tricks just from building sets, some Creator house, and modular buildings. A lot can be found online, but my best advice is to search for interesting builds, and try to figure out the parts for some details, while keep an open mind to use them in various themes. And most of all, just build. It gets easier with time, as well as more fun.
  2. Having four sisters, our situation was different to Legogals. I didn't hide my hobby pre-dark age, but there was an unwritten rule not to touch the finished creation. Eventually, that drove me away from the bricks, as the youngest of my sisters constantly kept her models build... Quicksand sounds interesting... Even if your collection is in the basement, you should get your own key, even if it means changing the locks, so your immature brothers can't get there. Showing the prices for some of your models is a smart idea. Even if they consider your hobby as plastic toys, you should emphasize a point that you'd be able to sell off your collection once you overgrow it (even if that never happens... ). And most of all, good luck with this.
  3. Amazing work! The black, white and grey shades on their own are a demonstration of creativity, to use bricks for other purposes, like the flowers made of technic gears. The message of the MOC is clear, LEGO really brightens our days! Great work and thanks for sharing!
  4. The batroom looks great, actually. I like the large bath - it's an interesting choice of a part. Also the walls have an interesting design, and they'd look great in any room.
  5. Same for me, a Danish VIP card successfully used in DK, UK, Germany and Austria in stores and on DK S@H.
  6. It looks great so far.
  7. It's amazing! The MOC on its own, I mean the depicted story, is wonderfully done with many details. But all together being in a foldable book - that's simply fantastic! The book details, with the straps, and flag as a page marker are very creative! Great job!
  8. Fantastic design! The idea to have an open back to see a stunning interiors is very appealing. There's too many details that caught my eye on the inside (like the cabinet on top floor, and the comfortable looking chairs). The exterior is equally (if not more impressive). The mostly white facade, with some black and tan awnings, is impressive, and the life around the building gives a feel of a very busy department store.
  9. Masa, thanks for posting this. I recently got some palm leaves, and was trying out different palm tree designs. Yours looks very interesting and useful.
  10. It's amazing. All the gold accents on the building really stand out. I like the rocky bottom, it seems an interesting technique to create rocky boulders. Great work!
  11. Great MOC. The roof is what stands out, and it gives an interesting character to the building. Also, a bunch of other (more hidden) details is fantastic, the alcove with the microfig, olive green details incorporated in the back wall, and the lantern and growing vines.
  12. I was in Vienna on Friday at the brand store opening, and filled two cups very quickly. I got a bunch of olive green cheese slopes, and some redish brown plates, and 1x1 dark green bricks. Overall, the selection on PaB was fine, but there were also lots of basic bricks (2x4s).
  13. Nice work. Both the micro and mini-scale houses look nice. I'm impressed by all the SNOT work - the chimneys and the corners of the house.
  14. Great work with the building. My favourite detail from the official set was the architectural style of the building, and as a complete building your MOC looks great.
  15. Great job with the minifigure scale version of an iconic van. Would be great to see it in other colour schemes as well.
  16. It's only getting better with the interior pictures. The fridge in the kitchen is an eye catcher, but more than it, I like how you stacked plates and jars on the corner shelves. Also, the curtains in the kitchen are a lovely detail. The golden lamp in the parlor is fantastic, it really stands out in pearl gold. Library is a nice addition as well, I'd just put a comfy chair in there and start reading some nice A. Christie's books. Well done!
  17. This is a lovely cottage. It reminds me of weekend cottages found in my country with a small base and very steep roof. Speaking of the roof, it's fantastic - the pattern of the studs and tiles gives a really nice effect. Well done.
  18. I am a member of Kocke Klub (Slovenian LUG), and Eurobricks (as it counts as LUG, as far as I'm aware). I'm actively participating in Kocke Klub events, I'm organizing board of our LUG, helping out during the events, and making displays for our exhibitions. I'm less active (in that perspective) on EB. I'm considering making reviews (as I often do that for Kocke Klub), however, I'm held back by lack of time, I'm not sure if I can fully commit to it at this point. Mostly due to my profession, there are days (and sometimes weeks), when I'm not actively following the online community, so this is also holding me back from participating more actively on the forum as a mod or regulator - besides not knowing how that is done. However, I'm playing with the idea to display my MOC also internationally, which is a new step further.
  19. Thanks, that's an interesting news about another Vienna store opening. From my location, the SCS store has a good position to reach with a car, however, it's always nice to have another store.
  20. Great work! There are some nice elements included in the MOC, such as the arched brick built windows, and flower beds near the entrance. I can easily imagine the building surrounded by some greenery on a prominent position in any town.
  21. I've seen the house already on Flickr, and it still looks impressive. Most of all, the amount of bright yellow bricks is impressive by itself, and the model of the house is lovely. The colour scheme is great, and reminiscent of Danish house. My favourite 'architectural' detail is the cheese built roof - I'll definitely try it out sometimes. The size of cheese slopes makes them a great alternative for roofing in comparison to other types of slopes. And Anne Mette, welcome to the EB forum!
  22. We have a small corner in the living room dedicated to my bricks, and there's a table with some organizers with drawers. In addition, some boxes are stored under the table. It works for me, but it does look untidy and crowded all the time. Some of the sets and MOCs are on display in the living room and bedroom. As we don't have visitors often, it's not a problem, but I wish I'd have enough room to have my collection stored in more effective way, so the living room wouldn't look so cluttered.
  23. The mini VW van looks great. The choice for front windows is very interesting, and works really fine. This make me wonder how to plan the next trip to the lego shop to get both the new winter set and this mini together.
  24. Great to see the pics, and at least partly know what to expect at the PaB wall. We're going to Vienna on Friday, and hope the store won't be to crowded to have enough time to pick and sort PaB parts efficiently. I'm glad to see the parts selection similar to Munich's store (where I've been last) as I wasn't expecting to see some rarer part, such as the palm leaves and trans-blue tiles.
  25. So, with the LEGO store in Vienna open, has anyone been there yet? I'm curious mostly about the size of the PaB wall.
