  1. Me too, thats been my favourite thing after switching to android. But to get back onto topic, no, you cant download and install apk files on IOS, this is changing in the EU soon though, hopefully. As for @Boathill's problem, my number one solution would be brickcontroller 2. Best of luck!
  2. Perhaps they motorised the doors or something...
  3. Voted! I didn't follow this competition all that closely, but all of the entries look really good. Nice work everybody!
  4. You can use an image hosting site like bricksafe or flickr, then copy the link to the individual photos and paste it inside your post. It should embed and display the image for you. As for displaying your cars, maybe you could do all the cars in a series (1:8, F1) in one column of a shelving unit?
  5. Thats awesome, I really like the version with the wide track width, it looks exactly like what comes to mind when you call it "Dune Basher". I think it has some sort of childish joy in it, and that's really special.
  6. A space shuttle is a pretty generic shape, so it's going to be hard for anyone to be truly unique after the first one, IMO.
  7. Heya! Firstly, thank you to everyone who's worked on keeping LDD functional! Now on to my problem.. I cant find This Part in LDD, I've tried searching for peg, bar, pin, and then (perhaps not carefully enough) checking all the categories, using extended mode. I also made sure I updated my LDD today, just in case. Thank you for your time! Edit: Part #61184 3 w.arch w.knob and shaft 3.2, I found it.
  8. The problem is that Buwizz 2.0 cuts power if your motors are under high load, which I think is likely given your motor setup and aforementioned "not careful" driving. But I wish you the best of luck, whichever you choose.
  9. Yes, but only if you drive very carefully. The 3.0 really is the better option, you just need to use a C+ L motor to steer instead of a servo.
  10. I have used them outdoors, but I dont think I ever took any vehicles with planetary hubs in sand. It totally could be that though. I'm going to put them through the washing machine and I will update this if they get better.
  11. I've recently found 2 faulty planetary hubs in my collection. When I'm turning them I can feel each gear engaging, almost like there's something inside the gears. But on the outside they both look near new, maybe used a few times. Whats more interesting, is that one has "38X1" printed on it, and the other has "01X2" printed, so they arent the same batch or anything like that. I've emailed Lego about it so I should receive replacements, but I was wondering if anybody knows a way to fix this, or knows whats wrong with them? Edit: I just found another 2, but its much more subtle on these ones. The printed number is "38X1" on both, one is nearly unnoticeable and the other is somewhere in between.
  12. I had always assumed you were meant to push them, so perhaps they were designed, like everything else about the set, for people who know near nothing about cars.
  13. Yep, my family too, the old lego is still going strong.
  14. I might be wrong but the coils on the second spring look the same as the coils on the soft LBG shocks.
  15. I remade the chassis and widened the body by 2 studs, now the model uses portal hubs and has much higher ground clearance. I have recorded some clips of it driving, and edited them together pretty minimally. In my infinite wisdom I recorded some of them in 720p, so those are in a separate video.
  16. Nice model, I watched the video and it just got better and better. 3 diff locks, pneumatic suspension, full interior, I'm impressed. Are the gearbox driving rings on your cv joints there to act as a smaller version of the long cv joint in the zetros? Also, could we see a photo of the underside of the model?
  17. I hope not. The latest two have been functionally disappointing to me, a sentiment I'm sure many will share. Perhaps if they didn't all have nearly the exact same suspension, drivetrain, and body, they might be more interesting. But they do. IMO an unlicensed F1 like 42000 would be better, the designers get more freedom and we get more functions.
  18. The one upside I could see is exposed suspension systems fitting the color scheme of the model on a buggy or something...
  19. I think whats more likely is that the buwizz team will swap their motors in, but time will tell.
  20. Absolutely, this set is, at least IMO, made for people who want an easy way in to Lego Technic. Kind of like Apple sending school's their computer's so that when kids leave schools they buy Apple products because they know how to use them.
  21. This is awesome, I really like the way you're doing diff locks, I was hoping to see something like that on 42177. I also quite like the body, I think tweaking the headlights a bit, or a lot, could get it to look a lot better. Overall though, this is fantastic. For a first time doing solid/live axles, I think you did a really good job!
  22. The axles cross pointing to the 4 surrounding holes, if that makes any more sense.. As for your steering systems not turning 90 till end stop, that's probably fine. If you don't own a game controller then I'm not aware of any other options, sorry.
