  1. I think whats more likely is that the buwizz team will swap their motors in, but time will tell.
  2. Absolutely, this set is, at least IMO, made for people who want an easy way in to Lego Technic. Kind of like Apple sending school's their computer's so that when kids leave schools they buy Apple products because they know how to use them.
  3. This is awesome, I really like the way you're doing diff locks, I was hoping to see something like that on 42177. I also quite like the body, I think tweaking the headlights a bit, or a lot, could get it to look a lot better. Overall though, this is fantastic. For a first time doing solid/live axles, I think you did a really good job!
  4. The axles cross pointing to the 4 surrounding holes, if that makes any more sense.. As for your steering systems not turning 90 till end stop, that's probably fine. If you don't own a game controller then I'm not aware of any other options, sorry.
  5. Maybe check if your centre position is at 90* physically? Thats usually a good practice. The other thing I'd recommend is doing more testing using another control solution, perhaps the fault isn't with the software.
  6. This is a really impressive build, the combination of looks and functionality is superb. Do you know how much it weighs?
  7. Nope, wheel diameter and weight became the limiting factors, rather than power, sadly.. Sorry Dazzzy, I couldnt remove the tag on mobile.
  8. I think if you either take a pair of calipers or use software to convert ldraw files to mesh then measure in a CAD software you can get a measurement of what size the tire needs to be. From there you could probably just search by the dimension. But it might be quite some searching. Anyhow, good luck!
  9. It feels like we just had a Ferrari though, I think it would likely be another brand. But imo they should kill the 1:10 series unless they start putting more features in without raising the prices.
  10. You could do something like Attika's swiss knife pickup, I think that was the one with the simple 2 speed gearbox..
  11. Well, I'd to start off with saying that I love the way your buggies look, @Dazzzy and @msk6003, really good work! Recently, I've done yet another rally car, this time with 6 motors, but squished into the size of a 42077. It had spring loaded doors, boot, and bonnet. https://bricksafe.com/files/Aurorasaurus/42077-max/v5/20240701_193815.mp4 But, I wasn't pleased with the performance (near identical to 4 motor versions, just heavier), so I took it apart. WIP photos and final photos: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Aurorasaurus/42077-max/v5 Then, before taking the rally car apart, I made a trophy truck with cada buggy motors, as I was inspired by Measyn's trophy truck: This one may at some point get some footage, but its currently school holidays in my country so the skate parks are all quite busy. This model uses half disassembled 6.5 stud shock absorbers for the front suspension, because I got lazy with making the normal shock work, and other shock absorbers didn't fit. Then we come to the final, and IMO the most interesting model of the post. I was inspired by Gyenesvi's Jeep Bruiser alt build for 42110, and since I had 6 motors free from taking my rally car apart, I decided to try making something a bit different. It comes with a detachable body, which makes it easy to recharge and fix. Since taking these photos I have reinforced some of the obvious weak points. https://bricksafe.com/pages/Aurorasaurus/jeep-bruiser If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please feel free to ask or comment! If I find a suitable location, I'll video the jeep. Currently it's winter in my country, which makes things a bit difficult at times.
  12. I just watched a speed build of it, nope, the rear diff lock seems to be manual only... :/
  13. You did a good job with the ornithopter, how about an AT-AT? Or maybe the temple from the first ninjago season, it had some fun moving elements if I remember correctly. Or perhaps some little mech set, there's been plenty of them in the past.
  14. With a brick built hub you can have steering, drive, suspension, and a locking diff, at the right width. I think with a custom frame you could do better on the steering not requiring a custom wheel hub. I also had another idea I think is worth sharing: differentials like in Nico71s warthog. At first the problem might appear to be the gear ratios, but from what I can tell the rear axle would be easy to modify to use a 28t gear to drive the diff. Then the problem of mismatched ratios when the central diff is locked goes away. Anyway... I've been up for nearly 24 hours now so there's a good chance none of this could work even in the slightest. The solution with custom wheel hubs I had doesn't have a good range of suspension travel while steering.
  15. If you add a spacer... wouldnt it be better just to put the lock straight onto the diff and get the extra gear reduction elsewhere? I'm curious why you say this, could you please explain why it isn't a proper diff lock? Is it because its not so much locking the diff as coupling the outputs? Please correct me if I'm missing something, I haven't been following this thread super closely.. but wouldnt a 28t differential with the new 2 module clutch ring driven by another 28t gear, and using ford gt 5 stud cv joints be the ideal solution here? The steering might be a little more of a hassle but I'm sure it would be manageable.
  16. I love it, its a cute size and it moves just like some excited little animal. During your video, when you showed the driveline, the chain of 4 8t gears made me laugh, its not something you could typically get away with. And the solution at the rear wheels for getting drive is really clever.
  17. Oh, you're right! Sorry about that.
  18. On the Lego website there's a new photo (at least to me) of the side, and I can see plain black wires, which I think is probably for LEDs. They could still be fiber optics, I suppose.
  19. Looking at the photo of the engine bay, I see the old orange gear switcher exposed.
  20. Super cool! I can't quite tell from the gif, but it looks like the suspension readjusts itself to its previous position- did you do that manually or have you somehow made a script?
