28t clutch gears, to save us needing to use a differential and a driving ring. i designed and printed some, with good success, for a relatively small design time. only change id make is making the outer part smaller to reduce friction. https://bricksafe.com/pages/Aurorasaurus/miscellaneous video of it working and 3d file available there

General Part Discussion
Aurorasaurus replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
i pulled the trigger and bought some gearbox parts. very pricey indeed. however, hopefully they'll earn their keep. im surprised nobody was selling them on bricklink though, as they could have easily fetched around 8 usd, i feel.- 5,464 replies

I may be wrong, but nothing about it actually makes it a batcycle, so I believe it has no market with batman fans. It also offers nothing technically new or any interesting pieces (from memory) so the main audience of technic fans has no reason to buy it either. I don't personally think that its target audience exists; batman fans who want a lego technic motorcycle with no interesting functions, and no display value (no stickers or anything to show its a batcycle) So yes, I would agree in thinking its been a flop.

Really good little build. Nice work! Very polished, I like the bodywork a lot. -
ive been building a trophy truck from the body then the chassis now, as it seems to work better for me. this one is very similar to madocas truck on the outside, the roof and sides are near identical, and the front bumper is similar as well. however, as the internals should be pretty different and the body isnt an exact 1 for 1 replica, im thinking its fine. just looking for any feedback anybody has regarding this bodywork. i do want to add a bullbar but haven't got round to it yet.

Zero's workshop

nice! how did you find the experience? -
thats how ive done it. but your shocks are a lot bigger, so as you say it might not be possible. best of luck regardless. my upper arms use 5m half liftarms with cross axle holes, and they seem to work on a theory level. i haven't built a vehicle to test that yet but i think it does work. if you google "goober reboot fastest trophy truck" you can see he used a similar setup, so it is doable with lego parts. just maybe not with rc shocks

im impressed. good job! especially on the doors, those work great -
I would suggest trying to mount your rear shock absorbers in the middle of the arm. the way you have it right now means that the screw holding the shock in will experience more shear force than it needs to. while its unlikely to shear, you could pretty easily fix it by changing the geometry or mounting your shocks closer to the arm and closer in on the chassis. same thing at the front. if its AWD then try mount the shock above the arm, or add another small arm thats linked to the larger lower arm with the shock mounted between those, so its supported better. if its RWD then you should try mount the shock inside the lower arm and make your upper arm wider so the shock can go through it. other than that im very impressed.

sorry for the limited description, my plan is to use no drive train, and have 2 motors on each rear swing arm. the fake buggy motors tend to cut out sometimes so i will use the PU XLs if that happens. also the motors will be paired via the second generation diffirential (the one with 16 teeth and 24 teeth) also, i only have 1 PF XL so thats also a limitation

The idea with this is project is to get speed from buggy motors, and torque from PU XLs, which have a very convenient shape. Powering the hungry buggy motors from 2 buwizz units and the PU XLs from the big technic hub, which will be in the rear and controlling it with the buwizz app. Servo for steering, PU L for fake v8. Perfect car. I would enter it in the mad max contest but 2 things stop me. 1, I doubt I will finish in time and 2, I don’t have any real buggy motors and will be using fake ones.
