  1. Ah some more information! Now that we know a bit more about it I'm looking forward to it even more! At $239.99, the closest in price I can find is 10273 Haunted House (an extra $10) so we can expect something around that size. Looking forward to it! In GBP, it's £180. In EUR, it's 200.
  2. I've voted for trains too. Can I just suggest that if trains is to have the highest chance, then vote for trains and only trains. I decided not to vote for town or pirates as well. Also, this topic ought to be pinned on the Train Tech.
  3. Very nice and interesting unique design! It definitely gives an alien vibe. The simplicity but effectiveness of the whole thing is fantastic!
  4. Awesome modification - the ‘poofiness’ really comes through on this! Did you replace the small leaf elements with green flower bunches?
  5. Very nice! I don't know why this got no comments in the 20 months after it was posted. @BENOR - welcome to EB from England!
  6. Very nice! Welcome to EB from England! Always a pleasure to see other UK fans doing some English stuff. You've achieved that Art Nouveau style perfectly!
  7. If it was a US steam locomotive, what about a GS-4 (Southern Pacific 4449)? I'd also like to see a UP FEF Class (preferably in the two tone grey livery). I'd love a Big Boy, but they're just too big. If there was to be one, the locomotive plus base would be about the same length as Tower Bridge, or the Saturn V, which are both just over 1 metre. However as an Englishman, I would like most of all a British train, such as LMS Coronation Class Duchess of Hamilton 6229, or LNER Class A4 Mallard 4468. I've seen both in real life at York, right next to each other, so they're quite special to me. Another British locomotive they could do is the Rocket, or possibly a Deltic DP1? Also, as there are 18+ cars being made that are licensed (James Bond Aston Martin DB5, Ghostbusters Ecto-1) do you think we can expect any licensed trains? An 18+ style Hogwarts Express maybe? The Back To The Future Part III train? Anyway, these are all just hopes.
  8. Only just found this thread and these MOCs are brilliant! My favourite one is the first of them all - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - simply because it means the most to me, as the only one I actually own myself. But truly, they are all awesome - I love your representation of 21st Century Breakdown.
  9. Brilliant MOC! How did she react?
  10. On the topic of pins, 80107 Spring Lantern Festival has them on the left, which is unlike all the modulars. It's possible that they've decided to switch side? Another thing I've noticed is that I'm pretty sure it's the first one with lampposts on DBG rather than a black 2x2 plate, or nothing.
  11. I think at some point they need to do a non high speed train. Like the more old fashioned steam tank engine + 2 coaches - similar to that 80s set. A level crossing for trains is also overdue (last one was 2010, discontinued before the trains were), plus what happened to a 2018 station? Pretty sure 60199 was never released, so it was probably cancelled. And there's only ever been one engine shed..... The harbour also needs a return. I have the 2007 one and it is one of my favourite city sets. It has the largest single hull ever produced by LEGO - I think the only boat that is bigger is the one in last year's ocean exploration, made from two separate hulls. Considering that we had Arctic, Deep Sea, Volcano, Jungle, Arctic, Deep Sea, I'd guess Volcano. However, it is the one that I seem to see mentioned the least - I think that it was probably the least successful. There's elsewhere to go, though, like safari, desert, or mountain. I think Volcano's other weakness is that it's the only one where animals don't appear - in Arctic, Deep Sea and Jungle, there's generally several big animals in the series. Having a much younger brother, I'm able to see the appeal of these animals and they go down extremely well in my house. Volcano just doesn't have them.
  12. Very nice! I always love these alternate builds every time I see them.
  13. Very nice! All of the figures are perfect! I particularly like the Oompa Loompas, Violet Beauregard, Mike Teevee, and Willy Wonka. Supported! And good luck reaching 10k!
  14. Yes, but in the past both millennium falcons have, and the rumoured Death Star ii coming out this year would take the top spot again
  15. Star Wars gets far too much focus, when there ought to be more on original stuff. Ninjago is generally only good for parts. A licensed set should not hold the position of largest set.
  16. In the UK 80107 still says 'temporarily out of stock'. Having ordered it on the 1st on backorder for Feb 10th, I got no confirmation email and I received a payment of £90 yesterday which had left my account immediately on the 1st (the price of it). I also received the £90 refund for a completely separate purchase, 10277, also on backorder, for which I had got a confirmation email on ordering. I have been given no explanation why, so don't know what to do now. The customer service takes 7 days to reply at the moment too. Any thoughts on what I should do?
  17. Only just come across this thread but very nice! Will you have the winter holiday train going round it when completed?
  18. Very impressive! Angles such as the ones you have achieved are some of the hardest to achieve in LEGO - and you have done them perfectly.
  19. Very impressive! Remarkable how well that’s turned out. Really shows the versatility of these sets. I’m looking forward to the rumoured Elvis set later this year.
  20. Very nice and interesting read - several good points! The articles on Brickset are usually some of the best imho, and this is no exception.
  21. Very nice! Wish police cars still looked like this rather than the rubbish ones today.
  22. It’s really your money and up to you. Does it work well with your current sets? Are there other older sets that you want which will retire first so should be prioritised? Honestly this question isn’t the best sort of thing for a topic, as we don’t know you, and can’t control what you buy. I always go by the principle of buying when I really want a set, and the ones that are oldest first e.g. I’ll buy the 2019 modular before the 2020 one as it will likely be discontinued first. 23. I get where you’re coming from but I think that’s a bit extreme. The contests I’m pretty sure aren’t just used for their cover purpose - they show, in the event of choosing, which one is more popular, so what will sell better. Home Alone is one of the most popular and iconic Christmas films. The globe is an excellent example of something unique and unexpected - what you can do with Lego that’s unexpected, similar to the grand piano. I’ll be picking it up. That was IDEAS’ original purpose. I will however agree with you on the blacksmith. Avatar: The Last Airbender is one I don’t understand. I also find the chances of approval minimal because it had a very short run as one of the shortest lived themes ever produced by LEGO. I doubt they’d allow its return. Despite the amount of discussion and obvious demand for more LotR sets, they’ve not made any more. It’s not a toy. Actually, it’s a highly sophisticated interlocking brick system!
  24. @Terrasher Evolution is certainly a good idea. I’d also like a zipper, and a swinging ship type ride.
