Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I actually got caught out by that... -
This is brilliant! The royal one in particular is unique and shows how you can go beyond the standard 2 stud width. Out of interest are the studs on the bracelets open? If so a 3 stud wide one could be done with the bracelet piece still centred.

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion

Very nice. As mentioned in the Bonsai video, the parts from that will be brilliant for creating trees in the future. The 2x2 tube piece first used earlier this year in the legs of Mickey & Minnie Mouse (set 43179) recoloured in brown is particularly good.- 137 replies

Ideas for life-sized and other non-licensed 18+ sets
Vilhelm22 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'd really like another plane. The Sopwith Camel in 2014 was the last of those - and before that the Red Baron, Wright Flyer, and a previous Sopwith Camel had all been made, plus the more modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner. But for comparison the last one was number 10224 - we're now just about to see the release of number 10281.- 6 replies

10295 Creator Expert Porsche 911 Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to BrickWild's topic in Special LEGO Themes
On jedijackpenguin's site the release date has changed to March 2021 which makes sense following the release of the Fiat 500 last year on March 1st. As the first unbranded car in the 18+ range (the Fiat was the last under Creator Expert) this will be the first to be branded with 'Vehicle Collection' assuming that that's what it is - I'd have guessed car collection but it needs to be able to include the Harley and similar future models. -
I did too! Awesome unique idea - an excellent addition to the Special LEGO Themes forum!

Ah. Very nice hermit crab there. Your parts usage is fantastic - but how are the caterpillar tracks held on?
-
Very nice! I have the F8, and this also looks excellent! I see you’ve used the F8 windscreen piece. Can we see a side by side comparison?
-
Hahahaha trying to imagine if this was what children believed instead of the sleigh. I think it certainly suits him better than other cars! Brilliant parts usage too - half of those I hadn't even noticed until @caiman0637 pointed them out above!

I'm an early 2000s kid, and quite honestly didn't know this theme ever existed. However, looking at the pics of old vs new, I'm very impressed, and can agree with @Robert8 - you've nailed them! The waiter and the rider are probably my favourites. Out of interest, when updating figures like this, is removal and swapping of arms allowed?

Modular Pub – alternate build for 10264 Corner Garage
Vilhelm22 replied to Versteinert's topic in LEGO Town
Fantastic! A unique idea that fits well with the current street too. I wish I owned a gold mine to buy all the LEGO I wanted. -
Very nice, and looks very similar to the donut shop in the new Police Station! On release, would love to see the two next to each other.

Very nice and recognisable mini modular. It's a shame that they haven't continued with the original mini modulars set - did that even contain GE?

I still don't have the roller coaster so hope it doesn't go too soon. The original leak of 10256 Taj Mahal being discontinued was in I think July - from Smyths Toys Superstore, UK. The set didn't actually say sold out on S@H until less than a month ago. I hope the same thing happens this year.

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion

Yeah was just coming to say precisely this having seen the official Instagram post.... Giving and receiving beautiful flowers is such a joy. If you’re looking for a flower gift with a difference, the LEGO® Flower Bouquet (10280) is an inspired choice. Whether you’re treating a loved one, or are looking for your next creative project, this flower bouquet model building kit lets you relax, unplug and create something wonderful. When complete, the impressive flower display brings a touch of fun and colour to any room. The adjustable stems make it easy to tailor the arrangement for any vase or container. Style flowers like a pro Each detail of the bouquet is made from LEGO components – all customizable to create a unique display. Most of the flowers have petals that are positionable so you can have fun designing different arrangements. Take the stems apart and recombine to adjust the height and shape of your flowers. Part of the LEGO Botanical Collection for adults, this set includes several elements made from a plant-based plastic, produced using sustainably sourced sugarcane. The LEGO® Flower Bouquet (10280) building kit makes a unique gift or mindful project, creating a beautiful flower display model made entirely from LEGO pieces. Please note, a vase is not included. This flower bouquet delivers a vibrant display of colors and interesting shapes, inspired by real flowers such as roses, snapdragons, poppies, asters, daisies and grasses. Let your imagination bloom with customizable elements. Position the petals and leaves, then change the lengths of the stems to create wonderful arrangements for the home. Looking for the best gifts for birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions? The LEGO® Flower Bouquet set makes a special and unusual gift for friends, loved ones, or yourself, at any time of year. The stems come in a variety of lengths. As a guide, the ‘snapdragon’, with its straight stem, measures over 14 in. (36 cm) high. As the first ever LEGO® Flower Bouquet, this set includes a host of new colours and shapes that adult LEGO fans will love. The flowers are created from over 17 unusual LEGO® elements with realistic petal shapes and colours, to create an unexpected display that is sure to make people look twice. The LEGO® Flower Bouquet is part of the LEGO Botanical Collection. This revolutionary collection uses several elements made from a plant-based plastic, produced using sustainably sourced sugarcane. LEGO® components meet stringent industry standards to ensure they are consistent, compatible and connect and pull apart easily every time – it’s been that way since 1958. LEGO® components are dropped, heated, crushed, twisted and analysed to make sure they meet strict global safety standards. I think the best part of this description is fact that the snapdragons are 36cm / 14in tall.- 137 replies

Ah that makes sense. Pretty sure it reaches 10 wide at one point. The other awkward train is 60051’s nose. Make sure that the train can get past on the bends. I’ve had problems myself regarding that before even on the official train station sets. Otherwise great job! I understand your restrictions as I at one point had a 3x3 metre loft to use, but if you can avoid a circle that might be good? How about a figure of 8 style, but stretched to take a square shape if you get me - like two ovals which both cross across the centre and overlap, but one long track. Does that make sense?
-
I don’t if you have the Disney Train but it’s pretty wide. Can it fit past 60051 in the top picture?

Parisian Restaurant went after the year when DO and BB were stopped at the same time. I got caught out and missed BB. TH was released the year after PS and discontinued the year before. When I first came to Creator Expert TH had stopped but PS was still there. -

Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion

Fair point. Oriental traditional and 50s US don't really fit together... On the docks doesn't it open out at one end? That would make the most sense. -

Out of interest when do people think the freebie vintage car will be stopped? Planning to pick up CG with that promo next month but it’s out of stock in the UK on shop.lego.com. Plus I want to make the gap between Christmas and buying more LEGO as big as possible while still benefiting from the promo. -

They said 1st January 2021 originally but if you check jedijackpenguin’s site it’s changed to simply ‘January 2021’. So I’d guess after the Chinese New Year stuff on the 10th but before Feb 1 when Ninjago City Gardens comes out.- 137 replies

Nice! Using the trees in the bottom right, you can really see this is a pretty big snowman! Interesting use of the tyre for the hat. The curvature done using plates and SNOT techniques is one of my favourite things about LEGO. Also, is the scarf done using this piece? On a side note, you might want to change the title so people know what they’re going to see though..
